To find this place, you have to go into the food hall at the Halcyon. Park in the parking garage unless you want to pay for a parking spot. It'll be the first stall you see in that food hall. It's an open stall service and they bring out the food to you but it's not your traditional restaurant style place since it's a food hall. Now lets talk food. I ordered both the Chicago dog and my own home town Detroit dog. The Detroit dog or to put it appropriately, the coney dog, is a basic beef frank sandwiched in a loaf of white bread and had a scoop of beef chili, onions, and some shredded cheese. The beef franks here have a very clear snap which means it's cooked perfectly. The frank itself is seasoned beautifully, the chili is cooked great, though it's not as messy as a Detroit dog from Lafayette or American coney ought to be. But it was flavorful and dirty eating as hot dogs normally are which in this context is a satisfying thing. My other dog I ordered from here was the Chicago dog. Considering I never had a good and original Chicago dog before, I don't have much of a context on how to gauge it and for what it's worth, the way this place does it seems to be spot on. I will say that there is a lack of celery salt on the dog which from friends of mine who hail from Chicago state that it is celery salt that ties the dog together and it's the thread that marries all the flavors together. This version leans heavily on the acidic soury notes of the pickle and the peppers (though there's nothing spicy about these peppers either) to offset the fattiness of that rich beef frank. Between the acidic pickles and peppers, the savory notes from the beef frank, and the mustard, there wasn't much of a balance of flavors as this version of the Chicago dog leaned more on the sour side of things. It wasn't bad, but the lack of celery salt was something I wasn't expecting from a place that offered a Chicago dog. Overall, it tasted good for a regular degular hot dog from Chicago and they made a valiant effort in it. Overall, these dogs are pricey. We're talking between two dogs you're dropping $15+ on them and you'll finish them in roughly two to three bites. Is it worth coming to? If you're willing to drive to the Halcyon, which is 30-50 minutes from anywhere in the Greater Atlanta area, then sure... but come also because you want to chill at the Halcyon as well... read more

I've came here multiple times and they have been closed well before their usual closing time, sometimes even two hours before. Worst part is, they won't update their takeout website so you can still place orders, or update their hours on google or Apple Maps. Nope, you just have to find out for yourself. I've actually never seen a business be ran like that but maybe that's par for the course at the Halcyon, seeing how the food court is a revolving door of restaurants. I don't know if it's due to lack of sales and they don't want to pay their employees, but closing a restaurant two hours before close on a weekend is something I've never seen before. We came here last night on a Friday night Halcyon was booming with mother's day weekend! We decided to eat in the food hall which houses many eateries including this one. I purchased a combo here because I saw they carry stubborn soda and those sodas are so good! I loved the pineapple cream soda but tbh the vanilla is just as good. Ordered the Chicago hot dog combo & the fries taste soo fresh & really nice crunchy outside, soft inside! Yum! The hot dog itself is not a Vienna, disappointing but it was still really good. Our friend tried the jerk chicken dog & said it was pretty good too. Another friend ended up eating 2 hot dogs but he ate them so fast, I'm not sure what kind they were Staff were so friendly & patient! Located inside the food hall at the Halcyon, it's the newest restaurant to open up. I came on their grand opening day and they were offering free all American hot dogs for the first 100 customers. The wait in line wasn't too terrible. I was greeted with a smile and ordered my hot dog. Checked out the menu as I waited on my food. Theres plenty of different styles and toppings I feel like everyone can find something here, as long as you like hot dogs. The hot dog itself was so delicious!! The place was packed due to Cinco de Mayo celebrations, so we opted for to-go. This time we tried their Jamaican Jerk Chicken Dog combo with Sweet Potato Fries and Root beer. You can get decent hot dogs (beef) anywhere, but very few places make chicken dogs good, and this place is definitely one of them. Chicken dog was super juicy and delicious. The only problem was till we got home, all the juices were socked by the bun and made it soggy, nonetheless it was absolutely delicious, and one of the best chicken dogs I've had to date. Disappointed by the sweet potato fries. They were soft and lacked seasoning. That's the only reason I gave this place 4 stars. We'll be back soon for more. read more

I was excited to finally try The Original Hot Dog Factory as I love a good hotdog but was sorely letdown. It's a cool concept offering hotdogs of assorted toppings. I wanted to get a basic hotdog to truly taste the ingredients and quality. I got the All-American with ketchup, mustard and fries served with a black cherry fountain drink (they do not serve Coke, Sprite, etc.). The drink was unique but tasted flat. I was not offered any ketchup with my fries and the condiments are behind the counter so I just ate them plain. The fries were fresh but not flavorful. The hotdog and bun quality was lackluster. This was my first visit to the hot dog factory. The hot dog was fine but not great. I ordered the LA dog and Carolina dog. The thing I didn't care much for was the chili on the dog. Tasted almost like hormel can chili. One other thing that was disappointing was that in the picture there is tons of slaw on the Carolina dog but in actuality not so much. I was so bummed after my experience at TOHDF. I came here on a week night eager to see what they had to offer. Their space in the Halcyon Market Hall was the only one that had a line to order, so I took this as a good sign! I don't know if I was just extremely hungry or what, but I felt like my entire experience here was spent waiting: waiting to order & waiting for my food. Both seemed to take longer than usual. When I got my All American hotdog with sweet potato fries, I was seriously underwhelmed. The hotdog looked like one that could have been served at a sports stadium or gas station roller. For a combo that I paid 8+ dollars for, I was expecting a bigger size hotdog, fluffier bun, and a lot more toppings! The taste really wasn't there for me either, especially with the sweet potato fries. They honestly had no taste and were not my favorite. I did not eat most them and I am typically a member of the clean plate club. The combo comes with a drink, but getting refills is a pain because you have to get back in the long line to get one. I also wanted more condiments for my hotdog and fries, but you guessed it, they don't have them easily accessible, so you have to get back in line. Their online menu is confusing in places, incomplete, and the prices are not correct. I got there ready to order but found the prices quite a bit higher and some added charges that I didn't expect. The food was good but I didn't think it was worth the higher-than-expected prices. I ordered wings with the island sauce. They were good, but 1 of the 6 wings was so small (maybe 1 1/4"). At about $1.67 per wing that's too small. The other 5 were not big either, but they were small to average. Good food, but I'm NOT rich and don't have money to burn. I recently dined here for dinner and it was very busy. The line was long but it moved very fast and the order came out very fast as well. The people working there were very nice and helpful considering how busy they were. The hot dogs were very flavorful but the portions were very small. I am not a person who eats a lot of food but even I thought the portions were small. I recommend ordering at least two hot dogs to fill yourself up and ordering a side dish. Or just going for lunch. They really care about the product that they are putting in front of patrons. We've been here now a few times and they have been consistently giving quality and great service. I love the family vibes that Izzy and his wife give with each experience. They learn their customers names and make it more of a home type of experience. The hotdogs are amazing quality. Not only that they have something for everyone. A huge selection, even for someone like me that doesn't eat beef or pork. My wife frequently gets the August dog with Pimento cheese and bacon. Real bacon comes on the dog. Probably one of the best. The chicken dog can be substituted with any of their hotdogs. I had the Jamaican chicken dog and it was a flavor explosion. The undercover main event here are the wings. They are seasoned all the way through and honestly some of the best I've had since I left Stone Mountain/Snellville. Don't sleep on the vegetarian options as I had the impossible burger and it was juicy, flavorful, and comparable to the real thing. I intend on trying all of the dogs. Good people and good food.
