The owner, Jinyoung, took my order, and she is one of the kindest people I've met! She's extremely helpful, and generous enough to let us sample the Jaws Slushie-- which is like a better version of the raspberry slushies you'd get at QT. It's smooth and pleasantly sweet. I've never been serviced so well at a restaurant before, and she hand delivers the food herself to the customers rather than making them pick it up (unless it's probably busy; I went when it was quiet). As for my order, me and my friend had Noodle & Gimbap combo with spicy jjajangmyeon and tuna gimbap with a side of the fishcake soup broth. Ever since the Duluth location closed, I've missed the broth the most, and the John's Creek location tastes the same! I love the consistency between all Jaw's location. The rose ttopbokki is rich and creamy, and the spicy jjajang noodles is extremely flavorful. I'll definitely order that again. The tuna gimbap wasn't anything special, but it's definitely not bad at all. 100% I'll definitely come again. The service was above and beyond, consistently good food, and it being peaceful on a Friday afternoon? Consider me a regular. read more

Got the Kimbap set today and enjoyed the meal. I included a picture mainly because it looks a bit different than the pictures on the wall, which definitely display more food. Not complaining, it's plenty of food, but the pictures make it look pretty massive and it's not. Good kimbap, always enjoy their topokki (although there was an absence of any shredded beef added on, which I really like), and even the pickled radishes are different than the picture. The one issue I have is that, just like some other places in Duluth do, they put way too much carrots in the kimbap. I removed half of each piece so the ratio and taste is normal, and ended up with a huge pile of carrots. Taking half of it out and I still ended up with about half of a big carrot. It's just not a great experience. I know this is a chain, so the menu has to come from the top. This is a call out to the menu - stop overloading the kimbap with carrots! It's a complete waste and is annoying to have to remove. I would put 1/3 of what you guys are putting in! :D read more

Jaws honestly has the best tteokbokki in town! I've tried tteokbokki at so many restaurants, but Jaws is my favorite. If you're not into tteokbokki, they have various other items you could choose from. I always get the Rosé tteokbokki. Other menu items I really like are the fish cake soup and spicy jajangmyeon. The rosé tteokbokki flavor has a really nice balance between spice, sweetness, and creaminess. No one flavor overwhelms the dish. There is so overwhelming gochujang flavor as well. The spices are very well blended. The spicy jajangmyeon follows the same suit in its own right. However, I would like to point out that this specific location is different from all the other Jaws restaurants I've been to. Jinyoung, the owner, plays a massive part in why this place stands out. When you first walk in the door, you're greeted very warmly. She checks up on you frequently as you're eating your meal, and it was overall a very pleasant experience. They were prompt & very friendly and personable They have self serve water by the register as well as drinks for sale They're incredibly affordable & the udon broth is a nice touch to the meal! We decided to try the Friend Set 2 so we could get a bit of everything - which came with Jaws Topokki Soup (we added cheese), the Deep Fried Set (M) and the Assorted Fish Cake Soup. We added an order of Spicy Pork Gimbap on the side. Overall? Everything was just a-ok. It seemed a bit pricy for everything, $28.99 for the set plus $9.49 for the gimbap. However, it was filling for 3 people, so overall it wasn't a super pricy meal, just pricier than I expected for street food snacks. I had a really good experience here. The person at the counter where you put in your order was so nice and fun to talk with. She was helpful is seeing what my options were for the gimbap box I got. I got tuna and spicy pork. It came with Topokki, a slice of fried Korean sweet potato, a fried dumpling of sorts which was my first time having. A fried seaweed roll, and some clear broth i think it was chicken based, I didn't know it came with it but it was really good so that was a nice surprise. Maybe it said it on the menu, I was just so excited for my meal(I was hungry and hadn't had breakfast) I didn't look thoroughly. Everything was very good. I will be going back. I tried to go back a few days ago but I live kinda far from it and didn't make it over that way. I am very interested in trying more of the menu. I didn't take any good pictures but I did take one. I didn't remember to until the end of eating. I will have to do a second review. It's very cute and small. Pretty nice decor and super clean. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Everything is well up kept. I was really excited to see this as it's officially the closest tteokboki place close to me now. The manager was there greeting everyone, and there were a steady stream of customers so it seems like it'll do great here. You order from their little iPad, then food comes out fairly quickly. I got: Half order TBK (regular): The half order is perfect for one person (or to share if you order as much other stuff as I did). I love that there is plenty of fish cake and a little half dumpling (delicious) that goes with it. The sauce is tasty and original feels mild to me (I'm used to Yup Dduk from Los Angeles Ktown--IYKYK), but it was spicy to my non-spice-eating partner. I can easily say that this is the best tteokboki that I've had in Georgia so far, though I haven't had too many. Bulgogi kimbap: This was pretty good--I wish it had some gochujang or hot sauce to go with it, but not bad at all. I think their TBK is still the star of the show, but this is something I'd definitely order again. Spicy pork kimbap: This is more like a ssam kimbap than a daeji bulgogi kimbap to me, but I like it that way. I might actually prefer this over the bulgogi kimbap as the lettuce piece was very refreshing with the spicy pork. Sikhye slush: They were giving this out for free as their grand opening deal, and I love sikhye. The sikhye slush was refreshing and an absolute delight, especially out in this summer weather. I gave it to my partner and he drank it so fast--maybe I should've asked for two! Overall, I really enjoy their TBK and their kimbap are also solid. I can't wait to try their other kimbaps, and maybe their jajjang TBK (I always end up with the original b/c I just love the flavor so much). If I had to say anything, I just wish that there was a better "waiting zone" for the to-go customers. I wasn't sure where to stand while waiting for my order and I didn't want to intrude on the customers sitting or stand in the way of the iPads. Not the end of the world, but it'd make the process run more smoothly during rush hour. Anyway, this place is great. Not worth the Hype. I honestly do not know why this chain is popular-- maybe because it is new? There are not many BunShik (Korean street food places) around the area so maybe that is why? The ddukbokki (spicy rice cakes) were soggy, the egg was 1 SMALL quail egg -- it came in a plastic container (which reminded me of disposable ramen cups). The meat (blood sausage and liver) was good but room temperature (makes me really wonder if it was just ripped out of the original package and not heated up before hand?). The only thing that appeared "freshly" made was the $$ fried items- the squid was fresh. SERVICE: there are self service kiosks and I recommend ordering from there. EVERYTHING IS SELF SERVE (including the fact that the servers do not serve): they call your name to get the food. The workers did not seem too enthusiastic to be there. AMBIANCE: everything is clean. This Jaws Topokki is located in the same plaza as H-Mart off of Medlock Bridge Rd. This location is smaller than the Duluth location. The kimbaps are really tasty here. I love the packaging too for the kimbaps. Super cute. They have a variety of kimbaps on the menu. Something for all kimbap lovers. I also enjoy the shikhae slushie. Shikhae is a Korean sweet rice drink. Jaws Topokki was the first place I've had it in slushie form. It's sweet but considering how hot Atlanta is and how many few Korean places sell shikhae, I will come to Jaws Topokki to get my shikhae fix. They also serve other boonshik (Korean street food) like ddukbokki, rose ddukbokki and combo and korean bento like options. The ddukbokki can get spicy so make sure you get the right level of spice if you get this dish. You can order/pay at the counter or at kiosk. Yum!! Authentic Korean food. I had the jaws gimbap box for $12 and it's so good! The food is cooked to order so I waited about 10-15 minutes on a Tuesday lunch around 12:30. It's a small little self service place, you order on the screen and pick up the food at the counter. There aren't that many tables. All of them were full when I came in, so some people had to wait. The portions are big and very filling. I loved the soup the box set came with. The gimbap was huge and very fresh. You can taste the care and time they put into cooking everything. The fried set has this odd flavor that I'm not a fan of and didn't not enjoy. There is little seating and food does take 25ish mins. Their order ahead doesn't work the two times I tried. Walked in for a late lunch and it was pretty empty. The two parties I saw walk in got theirs to go. Ordering is simple, I ordered on the screen. If you have questions or need help with ordering, you can ask an employee. I just wanted a snack, so I just went with the fried seaweed rolls (I've gotten bags of these Korean snacks in the frozen section of the grocery store before and like them) to try fresh. I also got a 3pc order of the fried chicken with cheese powder. If I had friends eating with me, I would have liked to try their topokki (Korean rice cakes in a spicy stew) or one of the combos. My total was under $7, so it's a place where you can order light and just get a couple of items, which is nice. The seaweed rolls were delicious (they're stuffed with glass noodles), but I thought they were pricey at $1.50 for two (if I remember correctly). The fried chicken was good too; I don't think I've seen fried chicken served this way before with powder vs tossed in a sauce. Plenty of parking in the plaza! read more

Jaws Topokki is the newest spicy rice cake (topokki) joint in the metro ATL area and they are taking presence! Jaws is a pretty famous brand in Korea and they actually slipped in popularity especially after Yupdduk came in and changed the game -- but you can still commonly see Jaws stores in the streets of Korea. Before ATL, JAWS had locations in LA and they finally made its way to Atlanta! Located in the JC hmart plaza -- this place isn't big. They also don't offer too much menu variety -- it specializes in spicy rice cakes and they have a few side menu items that you can choose from as well. We went during the grand opening event and we got to try the regular topokki, rose topokki and assorted fried items. We also got to try the shikhye slushie as well. The food was all pretty solid. I think they have some pretty good topokki -- it tastes the most similar to Korean style spicy rice cakes that you would find there. However, I think I prefer the rose flavor at BBQ over JAWS. BBQ's Rose has a sweeter flavor that is easier to eat compared to here which felt a little bland and more creamy than flavor. The shikye slushie was great. I am a HUGE fan of shikhye and that sweet slushie flavor is great to ease the spicy flavor of the spicy rice cakes. It's definitely on the pricier side but topokki is becoming more and more expensive everywhere else so it's not a big problem -- but I think Koreans here are still used to the cheap street style Korean prices but unfortunately those don't really exist anymore. The store wise -- it's not big. Seating is extremely limited so people tend to to-go and pick up (they have really nice branded packaging for to-go so it's super convenient) and they also have locations opening in Duluth & Suwanee! (The Suwanee one already opened inside Suwanee Hmart). So they're definitely trying to broaden the audience with Jaws. I think it's worth a try if you're a fan of spicy rice cakes -- I personally had a solid experience and I definitely would come back! read more

Jaws Topokki is a relatively new restaurant within the John's Creek H-Mart plaza. The atmosphere inside is very casual as there are self order machines and limited seating (4-5 tables in total). The rose topokki is amazing, the creaminess and bit of spice blend very well and go amazing with any of the fried combo sets. We also tried the Sikhye slushie out of curiosity and it was watered down being mainly ice and only a subtle rice flavor. Lastly, the kimbap was good but on the pricier side and not worth the $9-$10 when other restaurants in the same plaza sell similar quality for less. Overall, a welcome addition to the plaza and would recommend trying once if you ever have a craving for spicy rice cake! read more

I've been to Jaws in Korea and this location does not disappoint. They have great combo meals and the pricing is good! I got the jjajjangmyun, half tteokbokki and kimbap combo along with an order of the deep fried medium combo. The jjajjangmyun was very delicious which I did not expect as Jaws is known for their tteokbokki and kimbap. The tyeokbokki was spicy but the tteok had a great texture and was yummy with fishcames included along with half a dumpling. I got the pork cutlet kimbap which had perilla leaf in it which I love. The deep fried combo came with two squid, one shrimp, one sweet potato, and two mandu. All were very good and crispy, perfect texture. The inside of the restaurant was clean although I went to use the bathroom and there was a dead cockroach...The lady working the register wasn't very friendly. It's a small quick service restaurant with a small serve service station with water, utensils, and plates. I got the duo set and it was enough for two people. The sauce was already salty and the fried fish at the top only added to the overall saltiness. The sauce was good, we chose the highest spice level and it added a nice flavor. The fried food also had a seasoned batter which was good as well and paired well when dipping it with the sauce. The food was pretty greasy and salty overall, it would have been nice to have something pickled to cut the greasiness. I would definitely come back and again to try the rose sauce. read more

We had been super excited to try Jaws. We had seen all the videos on TikTok and Instagram and we love Tteokbboki! We had ate earlier in the day, so we got our food to go. They have a pretty good selection of food, different types of tteokbboki soup and you can choose from 3 different heat levels, mild, medium & hot with flavors, like cheese, rose, etc. there were tempura fried vegetables, cheese sticks, chicken tenders, about 10 different types of kimbap, slushes, rice bowls and some other items. I got the cheese tteokbboki in mild, I also got myself a pork cutlet kimbap & I got my wife the fried shrimp kimbap & the bulgogi kimbap. My total was around $50. My sister in law got the cheese tteokbboki in mild & chicken tenders. We got home and couldn't wait to eat this delicious food. The kimbap was not that good. It didn't taste very fresh. The mild cheese tteokbboki was scorching hot! Now I eat hot stuff on the regular, in fact, we eat Korean food several times a week, but both my sister in laws and mine was supposed to be mild and it was so hot, you couldn't eat it. I ate a few bites, but it was so hot, you couldn't enjoy it. My sister in laws chicken tenders were pretty spicy too, they were just okay, nothing to write home about. I was highly disappointed in the food from Jaw's. I feel like I wasted $50 and I'm sad that the food wasn't good. We were really hoping for some delicious tteokbboki. The ambiance inside the restaurant was pretty cool, very Korean fast food, modern looking. The service was pretty good. The store wasn't busy when we were there.
