I called ssoniestyle on a random Sunday morning for an appointment that afternoon and was able to get an appointment with Wwoogie. The experience was excellent. There was plenty of parking, and I didn't wait at all. He was ready when I got there and he listened to what I wanted and gave me exactly that. Just a simple "shadow root" color. Just got my hair treated and cut by Yun, the Head Director and I've literally never LOVED my hair as much as I love it now!!! I originally wanted a perm and cut but she was very straightforward and said she wanted to see if my hair was healthy enough to hold a perm. When she tested it, it wasn't and recommended a keratin treatment instead. My hair is SOOOOO silky smooth and the haircut she gave me is AMAZING!!! There's so much texture and movement!!! This was my daughters first trip to a salon and she was so excited and nervous. I called the salon and they were able to accept a same day appointment. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and offered some cold refreshments (perfect on this hot day!) and told to have a seat in the chairs. Jessica quickly came over, said hello and quickly acknowledged my daughter. Jessica was so sweet and patient! She asked my daughter exactly what she wanted, listened to her and offered some suggestions. It was so touching to see the interaction and quickly eased my anxiety. Jessica's assistant then took my daughter to the back and washed her hair. After that, Jessica got to work. She knew exactly how much to cut (about 6 -7 inches in total) and proceeded with a blow dry and flat iron. My daughters hair is now so sleek, soft, and HEALTHY. I have this irrational fear of getting a haircut. My bf actually introduced me to this salon and suggested me to go there with him to get a haircut and let me tell you, it was one of the best decision I've made in my entire life. My bf and I now get our hair cut and perm by Yun. She's really good with hair and cares about the health of your hair. She's very nice and asks you how you want your hair to look like and how short you want to cut it. I've never met anyone who can cut my hair and my bf's hair as good as Yun! Got a haircut from Woogie, it was great and all but this was my first time at the salon, and no one informed me that he would be charging a higher price. I called to make an appointment earlier in the day, just for a regular cut, which is supposed to be $80. I did not say anything about wanting the "director" to cut my hair, I was just placed with him. Didn't find out until it was payment time (after my cut) that it was $100 base for a "director" cut. Seems like something that should be disclosed in the beginning. Overall I like the cut and style itself, but I can't help but feel ripped off. Wouldn't come back at this price point. read more

I finally had a chance to trim my hair post quarantine. It's been 5 months since my last trim and my hair was growing past my tail bone. I have virgin hair (never dyed or treated), jet black with natural wavy curls in the back of my head and super straight hair in the front, so I am very particular about my hairstyle being exactly the way I want it since I don't have the option to play with the color. It was the first time I had Youna as my stylist at Ssooniestyle and she saw a picture of the style I wanted and styled it exactly as I wanted. I had such a great experience at Ssooniestyle. I would definitely go again when I am in town and fully trust them to take care of my hair. I was in LA on a short-term business trip, and on a whim I decided to get a haircut, possibly dye. When making a reservation at Ssooniestyle, I stated I was interested in getting a haircut and _possibly_ dying after walking in and consulting with the hairdresser whether my hair was OK to handle the potential damage. On the actual day, despite walking in almost 30 minutes earlier than my actual appointment time, Ssooniestyle was very accommodating and wanted to make sure what my needs were. The owner was very upfront about the damage my hair would sustain if I were to try going blond, and said that if not damaging my hair was THE number one priority, he would recommend against it. However, was soon as I said, "let's try it?" we jumped right in. I was in the salon for almost 6 hours, bleaching my hair 3 times + toning + treatment + trimming. I can't say enough positive things about this whole process. The staff made sure I wasn't bored, tired, or needed something that I was hesitant to ask for. The owner continuously checked in throughout the process to make sure he approved of how things were going. As an Asian girl that has never bleached her hair in her life, his reassurance that everything was going great was really helpful, especially when my head turned bright orange after the initial bleach wave. In the end, I was glad I stuck through with it, because my hair turned a gorgeous, gradient platinum blond that I would never be able to achieve by myself, or at an average salon. It was no doubt a long process, but I left happy and satisfied. My friends have been complimenting my hair left and right since getting it done. Overall, I would definitely recommend this salon! I don't even have a go-to salon in my homebase of Seattle yet - I might hold out until my next business trip to LA. read more

I saw a fairly high rating for this place and decided to give it a try. 3 of us got following services: a regular perm for my mom, a hair cut for my brother and touch-up+bang cut for myself, totaling $525 without tips. They charge $120 for women's hair cut regardless the length. My mom's bill alone is $320. She has a very short hair and only needs minimal trim before perm. But it costed her $120 for a trim in a few minutes. They didn't style after the perm. $320 is a rip off. No one would've guessed she spent $320 on that hideous hairdo. When we walked in, the place was filled with pungent chemical smell. After they applied chemical on my hair, I could feel my scalp itchy and burning. I bet they don't use high quality hair products. I've come here twice, once for a haircut (with Mia team) and once for their scalp/B3 hair treatment (JJ team). I love love love coming here. All of the staff are very welcoming and friendly, and even if you don't speak korean they will always try to be thorough with explaining things through their other staff that can translate. I especially like the focus they have on their patrons. I've been to salons where its too common to overbook, so they juggle you around and I've always hated the feeling of just being left around. It really sucks to not get checked in on during hours of your service since you have no idea how long you're supposed to wait. But here they're very considerate, even when it's just the assistant tidying up my hair the stylists always came by to check if things were going ok. I was recommended a keratin treatment because my hair was so dead but I opted out because of the time that would be needed and they were very understanding and not pushy at all. The hair styling post-service is so pleasant and I always walk out feeling like some k-drama model. The snacks and drinks are such a great complement to the services. I just feel cared for! She's very accommodating and understanding to what you want but will also recommend the best style, cut, and color for your look, but doesnt push you to do something you dont want, which is appreciated! Haircut/perm by Woogie He has a lot of great reviews and I'm sure he's good, but today it was busy, packed, and he was kind of limping so he might have had a bad day. But in the end, it is what it is he gave a really bad haircut and service. 1. Service: He comes and goes whenever without a word. I understand the stylist does only the critical parts and everything else is managed by assistants, which I'm fine with if there's actually any follow up with his work or communication with me about satisfaction. It seems the customers next to me were getting great attention and communication with feedback by the other stylists. 2. Haircut: The chair was messy with hair and sticky perm chemicals. The hair and some chemicals got on my clothes. He used the thinning shears to cut my hair, but forgot to clean/blow off the cut hair so there was these blobs of cut hair with gooey perm substance getting all over his hands. Overall, just very disorganized/rushed. Also, somehow the way he set up one of the curls made my hair stick up in the middle of my head like a cowlick that would not go down. The assistant tried hard to blow dry it down at the end, but it still kind of stuck out. 3. Price: $175 for perm. I'm not sure if they counted a haircut price. But he literally just buzzed my sides with a minimal trim/thinning of my hair, maybe 5 minutes total. At the end, the assistant had to get a razor and clean up the edges and outline because it wasn't done. The most expensive perm I've had, a premium that I don't see worth, nothing special about this place. I was hoping this place would be like the hip places in Korea I got amazing haircuts, but no. 4. They have amazing branding and marketing. It all looks amazing in the pictures, but in reality the place is small, upholstery worn and stained, and overall more just an average place. read more
