[[HIGHLIGHT]]A big thank you to Steven for cutting and perming my hair, and to Song for assisting in the cut and consultation![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I originally came in to do a digital perm but during the consultation, Song mentioned after cutting the bleached ends of my hair off, my hair wouldn't be long enough to do a digital perm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was pretty disappointed because I was getting my hair done for a special occasion.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She pivoted and gave me two options: she could give me a nice cut and teach me how to style my hair, or we could try a cold wave perm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After she showed me a few pictures of a cold wave perm on middle length hair, I chose the perm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Steven washed, cut, and permed my hair. He was very informational and asked me questions about my hair history, what products I use, and taught me how to care for my new curls. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I absolutely love my new hair![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First, the wash was thorough but so relaxing. She helped me choose how much to cut and even showed me how to style the layers at home. The pictures are in order from most recent to when I had just done my hair! (It's been almost half year) I actually really like how the color fades -- it gives off this nice silvery-orange vibe! I remember the process was surprisingly quick too (they took less time than those Chinese salons I used to go to. Considering how bleached the hair is, the hair quality right now really isn't bad.

One year later and I am still obsessed with ssooniestyle. I decided to try something different from my last haircut and Heyne did not disappoint As someone with really thin straight hair, I find that I am limited to certain haircuts because I just don't have a lot to work with. I wanted to be adventurous and try a himecut since I loved how stylish it looks with straight hair. I had a few references and Heyne was very transparent with me what we could achieve with my hair type and we found a way to make it work. I always get nervous trying new things cause I've had some pretty bad haircuts in the past but I am truly obsessed! i decided to come here again after my last visit. i usually go to Asia for my haircuts, but i haven't gotten the chance to go and felt i needed it. i requested meina and she was absolutely amazing! i wasn't exactly sure what i wanted, but i knew i wanted more pronounced curtain bangs and to try some layers. i've had bad experiences before with getting layers, but wanted to give it another try. she was super nice and skillful. you start the experience with a wash, and then she goes into cutting. she will ask you exactly what length and style so be sure to have a picture if you have a style in mind! overall, loved the experience, and offered both me and my partner who came with me a soda which was super kind. if you wang a change of style, i definitely recommend meina as she is very skilled. i think layers still aren't exactly my style, but she's probably the only stylist that has cut my hair with layers that i felt actually still looked good. if you have gotten balayage in the past, i recommend going here as they know how to cut hair that has been dyed before in terms of parking, i think it's valet but since i had a 10 am appointment, they had not set up yet so i didn't have to pay!!!!

I've been debating making this review, but after consideration i'm going to tell you exactly how my experience was. I booked an appointment conveniently through Yelp. What I initially wanted/requested going into this appointment was a full head of bleached and toned ash pink hair. On the day of my appointment I was greeted warmly and enthusiastically by Jessica and her assistant. We started off with the consultation and price evaluation. I was advised that my hair was very damaged and dead and that it may be impossible to reach the color I had wanted/it would be double the price as they may have to bleach my hair twice. Now, I thought that was a bit weird as my hair isn't that dead or damaged and I already had a blonde balayage from previous salons, but i'm not a professional so I trusted their word for it. I was advised that my hair may break off if I went for a pink color on my whole hair and I did not want that to happen. I then requested to just retouch the balayage I ALREADY had hoping to reduce the cost and lessen the hair damage. Jessica stated she could do that, but at the SAME price as bleaching my whole hair. I trusted her expertise as this salon is popular amongst celebrities and influencers. Reminder, I already had a blonde balayage on my hair so it really didn't make sense to me to pay over $1k for a balayage, but I let her do her and didn't question it as I did sign a contract and I didn't feel like backing out. Her and her assistant worked different sides of my hair which is a key point for later. Once the bleach/toning was complete, Jessica stated she can put some color in it and use some pink shampoo to achieve a pink balayage. Don't get me wrong, she was super sweet and her assistant was very attentive. They provided me snacks/drinks as I sat there for a couple of hours. I did get a women's hair cut and Jessica offered to give me some waves to complete my look which I greatly appreciated. I wasn't really feeling the finished look and I was unhappy about the price. If I had wanted to touch up my balayage, I could have gone anywhere for a reasonable price. I thought it was very unreasonable to charge me over $1k and not touch up my roots. I had dark brown roots, a base orangish brown and a blonde balayage when I walked in. When I walked out of the salon, I still had my dark brown roots and a base orangish brown. The only difference was a hair cut and a touched up balayage with a lavender pink tint to it, but it didn't even look like a balayage it looked like low lights. :,( I have a hard time saying no to people/standing up for myself. This place is overhyped and overpriced. The lavender pink has now faded out of my hair leaving beige lowlights in my hair. Earlier, when I stated Jessica worked on one side of my head and her assistant did the other? Yea my lowlights are unevenly coated. The left side that Jessica did is more prominent than the right side. I can barely see the beige lowlights on the right side, it looks completely uneven. It's just hair so i'll live, but the hard working money I spent here was not worth it.

I usually don't leave reviews, but I felt like a review is needed here. Been getting my haircut/perm from Irene at ssooniestyle for a year and half now. First, the salon is clean and modern. The staffs are very welcoming and professional. Irene took her time to understand how my hairstyle would go with my face shape. It feels like I'm receiving a haircut straight from Korea, and she always delivers beyond my expectations. She always take her time with my hair and I never felt rushed. Ever since moving to LA, ssooniestyle was one of those places that I've always wanted to visit. Today, I finally got the chance to have my hair cut and styled by the fantastic team at ssooniestyle, and I am beyond overjoyed with the results. When I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted by the man at the desk who was very kind and led me to my seat and introduced me to my stylist, Yun. Yun was extremely sweet, friendly, and stylish, and she is clearly very knowledgeable about hair. I showed Yun a reference picture of the hairstyle I wanted, and she was able to replicate the look I wanted perfectly. When she was cutting my hair, she frequently checked in with me to be sure of exactly what I wanted and to ask me about my preferences, which I appreciated so much. Yun also took the time to explain how to style my hair on my own so that I was able to leave the salon confident that I would be able to style my hair just as they did at the salon. I was helped by two other staff members at ssooniestyle as well, who washed/dried my hair and then styled it after the cut was complete though unfortunately I did not get their names. They were both so kind and friendly too, which was a shared trait among every single employee I interacted with at ssooniestyle. I also was approached by the salon's photographer, who was very courteous and was sure to ask permission before taking any photos/videos and showed me the footage he had taken before posting to the salon's Instagram page. And his camerawork was amazing! Overall, the staff made me feel very comfortable during my experience at sssooniestyle. Finally, just as I was leaving, I had the opportunity to meet the owner Ssoonie himself, and he was so lovely and generous. It was very clear to me that Ssoonie has a great passion for his work and for the salon, and this was made evident through the quality of his employees' work and their amazing attitudes. In summary, ssooniestyle is definitely a place that lives up to its stellar reputation and deserves every single five star review! I will definitely be coming back again for touch-ups and any other hairstyling-related things since I trust that the highly skilled and knowledgeable staff will be able to deliver on the results and also offer a wonderfully pleasant experience. i have been going here for the last 2.5 years to get my hair cut and permed every few months and without fail, always walk out without my expectations exceeded. I have had my hair done by many of the hairdressers here and each one of them is so talented, skilled, and well equipped to help you achieve the look you want. I'd specifically like to say over the last few years I've really enjoyed having my hair done by Yun, who always does a phenomenal job. The place itself has such a fun and youthful vibe while still maintaining a quality standard of professionalism. Great experience here! I was able to contact the salon via yelp and they responded quickly. The salon was on time for my appointment and Heyne did an awesome job with my cut. Exactly what I wanted with a few professional suggestions. As a bonus, I was offered great drinks and snacks too! I've been putting off getting any hair appointments due to the pandemic, but ssooniestyle is diligent with their infection control by taking temps at the door, having your names, and number, as well as keeping masks on (stylists and clients). My stylist was Meina, she was incredibly skilled and friendly! Since I had a special hair request and this was my first time at a salon, I was very nervous. But Meina was very sweet and accommodating to my requests! I asked for an angel/halo ring hair dye and she guided me through the process of bleaching my virgin black hair carefully. She even did two colors of toner so the different silver colors can translate well. They also provided complimentary snacks and a drink! read more

So so nice. I got my hair done out of the country a few months ago and came here for a root touch up. Jennifer and Irene were very thorough with telling me what they were going to do and let me know what could be done with the condition of my hair. Highly recommend because the service was so good. I made my first visit at Ssooniestyle yesterday from my friend's recommendation, and Meina took great care of both me and my hair. As soon as she sat me down, she immediately noticed what type of hair I had and adjusted the haircut to fit better to my needs. As someone who prefers to wear their hair down and never go for any fancy hairstyles, she recommended that I get long layers with thin ends since I had a lot of volume on the bottom of my hair compared to the top. After the cut, she also taught me to how dry my hair properly to prevent split ends and showed me how to style it to fit my facial structure. I'm very satisfied with the result, the service, and the quality control of Meina. I will definitely be back and will recommend requesting her to my friends as well :) read more

Okay! First impressions, this place is super cute, they had super easy valet parking which was great. The vibe is chill and very welcoming, they have great music playing! Meina is so sweet, she started with a consultation asking me what I wanted and really listened to what I was asking for and got me a complimentary water! :) The hair wash is literally the best part in my opinion. Meina started the cutting process which she really took her time and paid very attention to detail which I love! Next came time to blow dry and style which she slayed! I am absolutely obsessed with how my hair came out! I am definitely gonna be coming back to get my hair done by Meina! Book with her! 100/10 read more

I recommend to do the color here, not haircuts ( experience from myself and my other friends). Other salons are gonna be like "oh you have black hair and it'll take time to get the color you want". If you come here, they would try their best to meet your expectations as much as possible in one day. No need to wait your time and money elsewhere. read more

Always happy to visit the team at Ssooniestyle! Ray and Meina are insanely talented. I know any time I need to look fresh they are my go to. I ended up booking for Wednesday afternoon, parked nearby the coffee shop. Wasn't a busy day. Arlene is such a hair expert! I told her I prefer short hair for the volume and she showed me some ideas. We decided that a short bob would be best to fix my mess! She did a fantastic job fixing up the uneven pieces, making sure to fix the bangs so it would grow out nicely. She also showed me how to style it at home, since short hair is high maintenance. I'm super happy with how it turned out, and I'll definitely be back when it's time to trim. Through the non-profit "Children with Hair Loss" Du Japon Hair Club was vetted for donations and is the only approved salon in the Los Angeles area. I met Yuki, who owns and operates this salon and also one of the best stylists I've had in my years of barbers. She is so nice and explained the process of the donation and also provided guidance on selecting the best hair cut for me. After looking at a few photos, I decided to go with a moderate cut to ease back into the general population. I was so happy with the results and would recommend Yuki to any of my friends. She will only take appointments and is the busiest during the weekend. I would recommend calling well in advance for your appointment, as she works generally towards the end of the week through the weekend.

To top it off when I called to tell her she did not apologize, she did not act as though she felt bad her response was not caring at all. Not to mention she didn't offer any advice or a refund. I said I had another appt after but that would be fine. I arrived and sat down and waited. They said I was checked in. I waited one hour before going to the front desk to say that now, I would not have time to do the appt because, as I told them, I would have to leave for another appt. I had allotted 2 hours and now there was only 1 hour left and I had not even been seen or sent for hair washing. All the while I waited, I could see Sal doing at least 2 other people's hair. When I asked the front desk if I could reschedule, they said they would talk to him. Several minutes passed. Sal was aware that I was there, but chose not to speak to me himself. He chose not to even take two minutes to face me and apologize. He was going to Mexico the next night, and could only offer the next day during hours I had to work. The salon manager apologized for Sal and offered another hair dresser. I have curly hair and want someone experienced in curly hair- especially when the haircut is right before my wedding and will cost hundreds of dollars. I think the worst part was that Sal was right there but simply didn't have the courtesy to apologize. I will never return to this salon. As for my wedding in two weeks, I have asked my makeup artist to help me find someone.

I specifically said I was willing to pay the extra because I did not want yellow or orange roots. Not only did my roots remain yellow after processing and toner, but since the appointment I now have noticeable breakage on the bottom of my hair that was not present beforehand. My hair appear fragile and uneven, and my hair feels significantly thinner since this appointment. I can't even run my fingers through it .......it feels extremely dry, rough, and damaged. During styling, I also received a burn on my ear from her curling iron. When I raised concerns about the color result. It was dismissed rather than addressed. She told me it was impossible to get my roots bright blonde with regrowth this long....... after already charging me extra for the double process and assuring me it could be done. This service was performed by Jaime, the owner. I am now left with breakage in the back, damaged hair, and yellow roots.

Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. If your feet are in need of TLC, renewal and restoration, Ms. Glen has a carefully curated service that will leave your feet feeling brand new. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

I was told the card on file couldn't be used for the service--only for late fees or no-shows--which made no sense. If the salon can charge the card for penalties, why not for the actual service being provided? This was especially frustrating because the appointment was a gift for a huge accomplishment of mine, from my mother, so of course I didn't have the physical card with me. On top of that I was also charged extra for nail length without warning, and billed twice for polish: $20 for gel color and $15 for French tip, even though I only received 1 design; french tip. When I asked for clarification, staff just pointed to the online pricing--but I booked in person to avoid that confusion. The experience felt misleading. I intentionally came in person to avoid confusion and relied on the staff to guide me accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. If you're considering booking here, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for more transparent and customer-friendly service.

I had my hair bleached by Meina before, and I was happy with the results, so I went back for a touch-up. When I arrived, she welcomed me warmly, and I felt confident because my previous experience had been good. During the consultation, she quoted me a very high price for a bleach touch-up and toning. Even though it was expensive, I agreed because I had been satisfied the first time she did my hair. What I didn't know was that this visit would leave my hair severely damaged and broken. After the consultation, she started the bleach touch-up by herself. Several hours later, after my hair was washed, she applied the toner. When everything was done, I immediately noticed that my hair was nowhere near as light as I had asked for. Before starting, she had promised to make it as light as possible, but instead I ended up with a much darker color. What bothered me the most was how dark my roots turned out. The whole reason I get bleach touch-ups is to maintain a bright blonde color, so why would my roots be left this dark? When I mentioned it, she told me the color would get lighter over time, but honestly, it is way too dark. Most importantly, the hair on the top of my head has completely broken off. If I don't straighten it with a flat iron, my hair looks absolutely terrible. It is a complete mess. I am beyond upset and angry. I've thought about this for several days before finally deciding to leave this review. The salon itself had a great atmosphere, the music and vibe were nice, and the staff members were kind. However, after reading through other reviews, I now understand why there are so many negative comments about Meina. Many people mentioned that she has a bad attitude and doesn't treat clients well, and sadly, I believe those reviews are accurate. There were definitely moments when her tone came across as irritated or rude. I understand that accents and cultural differences can sometimes lead to misunderstandings, but as a paying customer, I came to this salon because I wanted a specific result. Instead, I left with a color I never wanted and hair that is so badly broken that I'm embarrassed to even go outside. It also makes me wonder why the owner has not addressed these ongoing complaints when so many customers have had negative experiences with Meina. I am choosing not to reveal my name because I do not want Meina to try to "fix" my hair, and I never want to return to this salon again. I'm leaving this review because, after experiencing this myself, I now understand why so many people have given Meina low ratings. I genuinely hope other customers don't have to go through what I did. I will never come back to this salon. I had a scheduled appointment for a Saturday morning at 10 AM, and upon checking in, I was promptly seated. Director Yun initiated my consultation right away, inquiring about my desired outcome, assessing the condition of my hair, and confirming the pricing upfront. She expressed concern about potential hair breakage due to bleaching but worked out a plan to address it. Although I didn't catch the assistant's name, she was equally exceptional, consistently checking on my comfort and offering beverages. I requested dimensional coloring, so they employed the foil method, which took a bit over an hour to complete. Unlike some Bay Area salons I've visited, where they fold the foil all the way up, here they maintain long, straight sections. I won't deny that my head felt quite heavy during this process! Prior to applying color, they treated my hair to prevent breakage. Following the coloring, they toned my hair to a gray shade with hints of blue and administered a second hair treatment. They then dried my hair, trimmed a bit of the damaged part from my bangs, and styled it with curls. The team was incredibly kind, even taking photographs for me and sending them via text. They also provided generous samples of hair treatment and lilac color samples. Moreover, they took the initiative to wash my jacket after accidentally getting some product on it. When it was time to settle the bill, they were honest and removed a service that wasn't suitable for my hair. My final total came to $650, a bit higher than what I've paid in the Bay Area, but the entire experience was nothing short of amazing. read more

I really enjoyed my stay at ssooniestyle from the beginning in the waiting room to the moment I paid. The lady in the front was friendly and she offered me drinks while I waited (I came in ten min earlier than my appointment time). I made a reservation via Yelp after closing hours and they responded to me early morning the day after. So easy and so fast. Such a misfortune I was not able to get the name of the lady who shampooed my hair, but hands down the most relaxing and best scalp massage I have ever received. I was offered iced coffee and bunch of korean snack. My hairdresser Jessica was just marvelous as well. She knew what kind of style fitted my face shape and understood exactly what I wanted. I'll start with the costumer service. When I walked in, I was greeted immediately and the check in was easy & fast. They offered me a drink too! Everyone was so nice and I felt really comfortable there. Okay now I wanna talk about the TALENT!!! My stylist was Mia. Mia asked for a reference picture for the kind of perm I wanted. I showed her and she already knew exactly what I wanted with like two glances at the pics lol. Seeing as how my hair came out, that is super impressive!!!!!! She really took her time on my hair to make sure that it was how I wanted it. She gave me some helpful tips on how to style it as well. She gave me snacks too! And before I left she gave another drink. Feeling pampered af. I think it's worth mentioning that it seemed that the 1st round of chemicals didn't work so they added an extra round of them that were a different brand (idk if that's normal). I always have very minimal expectations when it comes to hair styling and I'm the kind of person who can be easily satisfied by sarcasm. This one is far beyond my expectations. I came in from a botched balayage yesterday and the salon was able to take me in today on a short notice. The staff was very accommodating as well as making me comfortable during my stay. The staff also makes sure to sanitize everything after every use and the place is very clean. My hairstylist, Sarah, did amazing work on my hair. She was not only accommodating to my hair problem, but also very informative on what she thought was best for my hair. I am so so so glad to take her advice because it turned out so well. Her color correction skills were phenomenal and it hardly looked like I had a problem to begin with. Meina, a pretty and kind hair designer, cut my hair. I did a layered cut and I'm so satisfied. I was so grateful that Meina gave me a very sincere haircut. We had a short conversation, but she seemed to be a very good person. She is about the same age as my nephew, so I hope she does well and is happy. The Ssooniestyle hair shop was pretty, the exterior interior was unique, and it wasn't like a hair shop, it was like an ice cream shop. It's a cute and pretty shop. Definitely would only come here to get my perms I don't think anyone does it as good as sooniestyle!. He takes his time to get things exactly right, and his level of detail and care is outstanding. He constantly checked in to ensure I was comfortable and kept me updated on the overall cut and style.
