Ehhhh it was alright. They give you snacks which is a bonus. Their staff doesn't really know English so prepare to try to understand them. It was kinda frustrating that they didn't understand me and I was scared they didn't know what I wanted even with photos. In the end I just told them to fit what suits my facial structure. Mind you I was patient, polite, and smiling to them. Set up an appointment for a haircut. Which was $100!!! So pricey. They said it was $70. They have a menu with pricing, the reason was because I got a director haircut. Make sure to state you want the $70 haircut when you go in even if you made an appointment. And I paid in cash and they didn't give me a 10% discount. The reviews said if you pay cash you get 10% off. Gave them an extra $20 for tip because the girl who helped was nice. During the haircut the hairstylist was asking if I wanted color and then pressuring me to get a Brazilian blowout. With just a haircut and no plans for hair coloring they wouldn't be making as much money as they usually do so I can see why they were pressuring me to. But I only came in for a haircut. I guess with the current state of the economy they are just going to act shady to get customer's money. I'm so mad about that. Haircut is alright. I haven't gone out other than to grocery shop since March but I NEED to have my hair looking good for work (I'm a TV host, we shot our promo pre getting my hair done and I look MESSY) so it was time. I did my research because I also have thick curly hair being jewish and Latina and have been victim to so many botched bleach jobs. Patchy. Hot root. Brassy. You name it. This salon is my new salon. If they're this good in the middle of a world crisis, I can only imagine when things are running normally just how amazing they are. I came in and everyone was masked, takes your temp and has you sign in with your temp. The salon is arranged in that I didn't see another client the whole time. This is beyond the bare minimum for covid compliance. I was so comfortable and felt so safe. THE HAIR. So my hair is a pain in the ass to touch up. It's thick, curly and when it grows back it doesn't have a straight line which makes it tough not to overlap when bleaching. I've been dying my hair since I was a teen so I know my head is a job. Mia did not make it feel that way. She gave a great consult and was respectful about what I did and didn't want to do when bleaching for my hair health. She had Youna assisting her so everything bleached evenly and they were so careful and kept checking with me and my comfort level. They always let me know what a product was and what it did, explained every step and were beyond wonderful. The color was beautiful, the best blue I've ever had and they really thought about longevity and what what my hair would look like growing in. The owner even came by to say hi and made me feel so welcome. If you're with Mia or Youna, you're in good hands. Also please tip these ladies well. Would have given one star but the assistant who washed and styled my hair after was so nice. The guy who cut my hair (he never told me his name but he has a neck tattoo) did not listen to what I said or look at the picture I showed him, and I basically got a very strange looking version of some wild interpretation of what I said I wanted lol. Asked for see through bangs, essentially got a mushroom cut. It looks pretty bad to say the least. Please don't go here, they'll charge you $600 to give you a horrible wolf cut + dye your (already bleached) hair a tacky af red color that washes out in THREE days. It was supposed to be an inner color hidden by the rest of my hair. My "supposedly Instagram famous" hairstylist -- not the owner-- must have been stoned or drunk cause another hairstylist had to explain what a wolf cut was at least 3 times. TELL ME WHY THIS TOOK MORE THAN 4 &1/2 HOURS!! They also charged more because he was "famous" but when I set up the appointment, I did not ask for anyone specific & I did not know or care-- so maybe that's my fault. After talking to local friends + family members in ktown (I was visiting for a wedding) they scolded me for going to a place that actively preys on tourists/non-locals. tl;dr Went in for a full bleaching & coloring appointment + haircut. 10am - 4:50pm Almost 7 hour long process. Been 8 days since my appointment. Very happy with the results, color and condition of my hair Gave clear reference photos, received a thorough consultation & realistic expectations based on my personal hair history. Bleaching process was quite painful tbh but I was warned beforehand (do not wash hair the day of bleaching like I did). I don't remember the name of the young lady who worked on my hair, but I think she had short hair(?), spoke very sweetly and was incredibly kind. Great communication every step of the way. She seemed very knowledgeable & reliable. I felt I was in good hands. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the assistant (she had longer, highlighted hair I think), but I do understand that she is still training. She was very rough, kind of man-handled my hair which was very unpleasant and painful. Especially with my irritated scalp due to all the bleaching. The price was incredibly high, but I think its worth it. Especially if it's a complex/difficult look you're going for. I paid $350 at a different salon and got something entirely different from what I requested. At Ssoonie's, I paid double that and got exactly what I hoped for, even though they were now working with previously treated hair. I absolutely recommend this salon. My hair grew out several inches, got brassy, and I needed a pretty significant root touch up. I told Ray what would most hair professionals nervous - I want to change my hair color but I need help picking the right color. Oh boy, that's putting a lot of trust and pressure on him. And I do apologize! I could have made his life easier by coming prepared with reference photos. I mean, that's what most people do, right? Instead, Ray, chill as a cucumber asked the right questions to help come up with the solution. He asked me to describe what I liked. Offered some shades to pick from, he took my request for no orange brassy color. Agreed and thought about cooler shades, with an ashy tint. He went with it, recommending some lighter shades near the face, and off we went to bleach my hair. That is called strategy and teamwork. You have to love him for it! The whole highlight process and haircut took 4 hours to achieve this ash beige/blonde. No, this wasn't a quick cut and goodbye service. There was a lot of care and attention that went into helping every client at the salon. It's not unusual that you would have up to six people touching your hair, especially if you are adding those foils, rinsing, conditioning and styling it in the process. It feels like you're in one of those makeover scenes in the movies, in a good way of course. It was worth the wait, because it really added dimension to my hair. I got a haircut on last Saturday 12/28. I have never been to this salon, so I have done my research on Yelp's reviews. Unfortunately Wwoogie is on his break, so I decided to go to Chloe. She is kind and nice, however, my haircut didn't turn out well. I often heard people said that to verify whether you have a great haircut you must wash and dry on your own because we are not hair stylists. I have natural straight hair, and I washed my hair today. It turns out my hair is uneven both sides. For a hair salon which has 5 stars reviews, I expected better services and techniques. It was charged $71 and, I paid $81 because Chloe is a kind person. They do give out snacks and drinks. These are a plus, but for a hair salon, the skills are the most important. Also, as a quick reminder, they canceled their cash payments discount.
