My Dad just returned home from St. Ann's rehabilitation. What a wonderful facility. The staff were friendly and kind. The facility is updated and clean. Do not let the catholic front fool you! Bad place due to more "bad apples" than good! Multiple Nursing staff members are Rude and Disrespectful... and also...not only neglected my family member when oxygen was dangerously low...Twice,.. But Scolded my family member for having the runs or crying.. as well...caught them in the act ....more than once! Tried taking concerns to upper management..Administration ..& VP...they primarily side with their Dishonest Rude staff... PRIOR to reviewing the camera footage of what REALLY took place during any incident!! The Management allow the poor staff those .bad apples...to remain on the floor! Do all you can to keep your loved one away from this facility!! read more

My mom moved from the rehab floor to resident elder in 2021. Nobody wants to see their loved one in a situation where they need 24 hour care. Luckily my mom was in on the decision to stay at St Ann's when it became evident she could not manage even assisted living. We both volunteered at St Ann's in the 70's and enjoyed our time there then. Recently all the floors were remodeled and the rooms are nice. Only singles which is awesome. I have found the exact opposite of the other (and older) reviews. Sure they are a little short staffed so sometimes the floaters or agency staff are not quite on top of each individual resident's needs. The regulars, however, have won both my mom and me over. They are good at their jobs, kind, and caring. They remember the individual requirements. An example is my mom has Parkinson's on top of everything else and cannot get a soup spoon from a bowl to her mouth so they always put her soup in a cup with a handle. This allows her to hold her soup up closer and she can feed herself. I'm not talking about one or two regulars I mean most of them. If mom has even the slightest sore the aids always notice when helping her bathe and dress. They get a nurse and they always call me to let me know. Once my mom dropped her glasses and I got on the floor to hunt them down. When I found them and got up there was no dust or dirt on my jeans. The cleaning staff does a great job. Once when my mom was alone at the lunch table one of the cleaning staff took a minute to sit down and chat with her. Mom doesn't participate in a lot of activities but there are plenty. She does love the experiences with live music which happen often. One more note. I have had other relatives there. One of my aunts was there for a few years before passing four years ago. When staff members who worked on her floor see me and notice my last name, they always mention knowing her and how sweet she and my uncle both were. This has happened a number of times from all different types of employees. Seriously I could go on. Yeah, it's a nursing home in the 2000's and post(ish) COVID. I have a senior friend who I visit at St Ann's regularly. He is very happy there and is always in great spirits and is getting excellent care. He recently told me about a "Dude Night" event that he attended that allowed the men to gather for a bbq and to have some laughs with the guys. He loved it and I commend the staff at St Ann's for creating memorable events for him! read more

Anyone else having trouble obtaining a refund from St.Ann's after your relative passed away? The finance department flat out lied to myself and other family members about when we would receive our refund of over $11,000. We were told numerous times that a check was mailed and waited over 2 months for it to arrive. As of today, it still hasn't arrived in the mail. We finally had to go there in person and demand a refund check which they produced reluctantly. The finance staff are a bunch of liars. Do not trust Kelly, Chad or Richard. They are obviously trying to cover up financial difficulties that the nursing home is experiencing. Richard the finance manager even came out to the parking lot after we picked up our check to tell me I might have difficulty cashing the check they gave us. Sounds very suspicious to me. Be careful family members of St. Ann's residents, something very fishy is going on. read more

If your loved one is on the rehab floor the staff is wonderful and extremely attentive and caring to your needs, so the horrors below don't apply. IF unfortunately you have to have to move upstairs to one of the skilled nursing floors at St Ann's for 'custodial care' it's a completely different world: The VERY FIRST THING they tell you during your first day "briefing" is the skilled staff floor is not like downstairs on rehab. The ratio of aids to patients is minimum. We learned quickly from talking with other families: there is never anyone around! VERY short staffed. Patients in parked in wheelchairs for hours at a time. RN's spread thin over different floors. Many of the LPNs dispensing meds work many double shifts in a row creating callous zombie-like workers...they do their rounds then disappear. The aides float around to different floors picking up shifts so there is no consistency for an aide... Everything appears to be a bother for the staff. My parent learns to lie quietly in soiled diapers rather than make a fuss and complain how rough some are. The BLAME GAME / Finger pointing there is actually comical when you do find someone to talk to about an issue (diapers, no liquid available, long dirty fingernails, spilled food tray) Most of the aides obviously hate their job and it shows (note: a couple are great) They are underpaid and overworked. We found it's best not to rely on them for ANYTHING. I can't tell you how many times we come in to find our loved one slumped in the chair - unable to move. Covered in spilled food (even tho assistance is on the orders to be there for feeding). The policy is to turn the patient every two hours. This simply does not happen. I'm there. ..alot. I would return after several hours to find him in the exact position I placed him in ... and in the same diapers. In a nutshell: We felt it absolutely necessary to go there EVERY DAY to keep up on the care and simply never relaxed with the idea that the quality of everyday custodial care was there. . . . . all this for $420/DAY . we do not miss this place. plus side: very clean, excellent food, planned activities, caring MDs read more

My mother has been at St. Ann's Community for over a year and a half now. As horrible as it is to have a loved one in a nursing home, I can't imagine one being better than St Ann's. My mother requires a level of care that just cannot be obtained at home anymore. I researched and contacted many nursing homes, in and outside of Rochester. I selected St Ann's because it offered a private room, and they were honestly the most pleasant to talk to. I am so happy I chose them. They have been wonderful to my mother and easy for me to deal with. She was there during the peak of the pandemic, and she was always safe and never got sick. The other reviews I see here are old, and things may have changed. The facility is newly renovated. Her room is great. I cannot express how grateful I am for St Ann's. read more

I cannot say enough for Good things about St. Anns! My Mother-in-law and our Great Aunt were both admitted in to the rehabilitation center for post surgery rehab! The admissions staff is STELLAR!! They rate NO STARS !, My Dad was there for rehab 5 days and he was dehydrated to the point that he had to be hospitalized Twice. When my brother went to pick up his personal belongings in the plastic bag with his things was what I hope was his URINE BOTTLE !!!!!! There must have still been urine in it when they threw it in with his new clothes and shoes... His personal items are now ruined. I hate to think how my father was treated!!!!! My great aunt has been living at St. Ann's for over a year now and has had a great experience. She seems to know everyone; from making new friends to reconnecting with "kids from the neighborhood".....She is always out and about at activities, mass, or visiting in the Lobby. I was treated at St Ann's Rehab and received excellent care from all of the Physical and Occupational Therapists to recover from my hip surgery. The skilled nursing care was top notch. The food was excellent and the cleanliness was too. The sides were very kind and professional; they carried thru with the training I learned from the therapists during the day. I highly recommend St Ann's for rehab care. read more

They recently moved their beautiful rehab rooms from the new building to the old nursing home. The rooms are small and you must go down the hall to be bathed. I didn't appreciate having to be in public view when getting a shower. read more

My Aunt lived at St. Ann's for 2 years and received wonderful care from the staff there. She especially loved attending Mass. Her aide was a sweetheart and cared for her like she was family, She even attended my Aunt's funeral to show her love and support to the family. We moved from out of state to Chapel Oaks and now live at Cherry Ridge. Why are we here? Because it's the little things that count, going the extra mile. Caring for people who make you feel like you belong. We first moved to Chapel Oaks because we have a relative at St. Ann's they give good care there . No we are at Cherry Ridge and It's very convenient , private, well kept grounds and a great location to everything and we have transportation to everywhere and all kinds of activities on campus, we wouldn't choose anywhere else. read more
