I've been coming to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre for years. It's an excellent outdoor music venue, with great sound and space. It also have the Backyard which is a separate venue connected to the amphitheatre where they do smaller shows that is standing room only. If you are seeing a show in the amphitheatre, you can have site or the pit area that is standing. I recommend if in the pit area to bring earplugs to save your ears from high decibel damage. There are clean bathrooms and refillable water bottle fountain, so please bring your own bottle to save you money while also saving the planet! I know they serve food but I've never ordered it myself, but it is typical concert prices. Now if you're seeing a show in the Backyard, there are food trucks and alcohol vendors at the edge of the venue. Sometimes other vendors are set up, depending on the show. Both venues are tried and true for myself and I really enjoy both locations. Getting inside the amphitheatre is pretty easy as well, they scan your tickets and will check with metal detection but it's much quicker than TSA. This place definitely deserves 5 stars! read more

We frequently come here for concerts. This venue is quaint and amazing. They have free refill stations for water bottles. They promote not wasting plastic. The seats all have a nice view of the stage. Security is friendly and easy to work with if you need help. The free parking is an added plus. read more

Nice venue but can't hold a candle to Wolf Trap Farm Park in Vienna, Va. My main gripe is they won't allow you to bring in bottles of water. The lame excuse they gave me was that people can use syringes to doctor them. So I guess they can't doctor the $3 bottles sold inside? Alcohol and food I understand, but water, come on man. Attended a show by the standup comic Sebastian Maniscalco last night. When your headliner opens his act with a joke about the venue's infrastructure, you know the place is run like a clown show, and that it's obvious. There are three -- THREE -- overflow parking lots, scattered hither and yon. You would think ample parking would have been part of the facility's initial design; it's not like the developers were unaware of how many seats they were installing in the place. And yes, there is free shuttle service to and from your car, but be prepared to spend an hour, or more, getting into the venue, and then another hour to get to your car. Acoustics are good, there's plenty of (exorbitantly priced) drinks and snacks available. All well and good. But spending two hours getting to and from your car, when the performance itself lasts 90 minutes, is more than absurd. It's a clusterf-ck. read more

This is hands down one of my favorite venues. I love for my music to be intimate and personal. Being in arena doesn't have the same energy that smaller theaters do. I have been to at least 10 concerts at this location. I keep coming back because of the awesome acts that keep booking here but also because its in my home town. Off the top of my head, here's who I have seen here: - Darius Rucker and Eli Young Band (same concert!) - Alan Jackson and Gloriana (same concert!) - Dierks Bentley and Frankie Ballard (same concert!) - Sara Bareilles - Goo Goo Dolls, Daughtry, Plain White Ts (same concert!) - Fall Out Boy! - Martina McBride - Vampire Weekend There is not a bad seat in the house. And I mean that because I have been every where from the pit, seated pit, section 200, section 300 and up high in the uncovered section. Often times I don't even sit in my seats if I am in the middle sections and just stand at the top of the landing. The Amphitheater is just like it is called...an amphitheater so it has the graduated elevated seating and then the bottom circles out into a half circle for the pit. Seated pit can get kinda tricky when it comes to standing because it is not elevated (just on a flat plain in front of the stage) So I had an issue at the Sara Bareilles Concert when the lady in from of me was much taller than my 5'4" and blocked my view for a good portion of the show. I couldn't even attempt to see around her sometimes because she was enjoying the concert by dancing the entire time. I am all for people enjoying a concert but be considerate if you are in the seated area and have people behind you. (off soap box) Depending on the kind of concert it is, the pit if it isn't sated does get kinda crazy as it should lol I have always had fun down there. I've been in a few scuffles of people being annoyed when people surf to the front or spill things. There have been some nice people that have allowed me o stand in front of them because I was short. lol Security stays on top of that area for sure. Really security is so nice at this venue and half of them are volunteers. I would recommend eating before you come. Its nothing to brag about or waste your money on honestly. The drink prices are affordable (like $4 beers, not $9 like at Veterans Memorial Arena) My older sister and I had a great time at the Alan Jackson concert with our bucket drinks! See picture attached. Its like a fruit punch with hidden surprises inside lol I usually like to buy merch (usually once you come straight up the stairs after ticket check in, the booth is in between the concessions) and bring cash because they tend to form two lines (cash credit) and cash goes faster. FYI there are two bathrooms. The main ones are on the left and right of the venue when you first walk in past the ticket check in and up the stairs. there are about 20 stalls but the line tends to get very long. I like going to the bathrooms down the ramp on the right side of the stage (if you are facing it). These bathrooms are usually used by the pit ticket holders but not many people know they are there. There are only 3 stalls but still goes faster. PARKING! If you don't wanna pay an extra $10 (cash) for parking, There are tons of local places to park that are a short walking distance from the theater. my sister lives just around the corner so we ride our bikes. Parking will fill up fast. There is a baptist church down the street that isn't a far walk and is free. Some people that live by the road rent out their yards. There are tons of options near by. i could keep going but I'll just leave this here =) read more

I've been to a lot of concerts in many different cities. Buffett in Tampa was cool. But the St. Augustine Ampitheatre is the BEST venue I've ever been at to see any show. Not a bad seat in the house really. If you do decide to get tickets, try to get inside under the main canopy as if it does rain the roof is so high you might get wet. But don't let that stop you, it's a great venue. read more

The St. Augustine Amphitheatre is a great outdoor concert venue with a backdrop of Anastasia Park. This open aired amphitheater is large with 4 seating sections, if you count the pit, and 3 out of the 4 sections are covered. Parking is a challenge here, and will leave you a bit frustrated if you are not prepared, therefore I gave a 4 star rating. There are more parking options popping up, and the Anastasia Park offers FREE parking and FREE trolley ride to the front. (getting better guys!) This place is nice and clean, plenty of stalls in the restrooms (lines go quickly), and plenty of snack stands for food and drinks. Prices aren't bad, with plenty of options! They have a smoking section for all the people that need a break....nice grassy area. The staff are friendly, seems like they are enjoying themselves as much as the concert goers, but willing to help out in any way! I attended the Sing Out loud festival here, not my first time, and honestly...there is NOT a bad seat in the house! I had such a great night that I even mentioned on the way home, there were NO drunk incidents that I was aware of...So kudos to the attendees of the concert...OR kudos to the security for keeping it all on the down low. This was my first event with my wife hear. We came to the Rick Springfield concert with Loverboy. That itself made for a mellow fun crowd of similar aged people. The crowd was great and the staff was fabulous as well. The volunteers all very pleasant helped direct us when we looked confused as to where things were. The Cons: Sand and grass parking lot that will flood. If it is raining I am driving my tuck next time. Bring your ponchos and a town to wipe off the seats if it is raining. $10 (cash) parking as well so be prepared when you pull in. The Pros: likely the BEST acoustics I have ever had at a concert. This is a great venue!!! Very easy to access in St Augustine. Good food options (there were veggies and hummus as an option at the concession stand!) Also a lot of great beer/wine/liquor drinks options. Sound was really good. Bathrooms were clean. Seats were comfortable. Having an outside music venue sounds so nice... fresh air, stars, moon etc but in Florida, in the summer, humidity and rain...really! But we come! WHY? Because they bring artist we want to see! John Mellencamp was all that.. he looked good, had his swagger, good musicians, new music but the old music we came for! Security to get in the amphitheater was thorough-looked thru bags and then wanded, I guess in today's world it's good? The place has seats outside of the huge over head cover and yes, they did get rained on a bit but it did clear up! Believe everyone was getting a steam bath no matter where they were! They had lots of liquid refreshment stands and people were buying, standing in line for a long time too! Few food vender with simple fare-loaded nachos, hot dog, hamburgers. Need to mention parking is an issue; apparently people come hours ahead of time and tail gate all day to park there. Then private homes let you park in their lawn for $15, the Elk will let you park there for $20 or you can do what we did park south in a church and walk the 6 blocks or so! They did have a free shuttle but all the waiting to get in and out is not for us! Only thing we may have to reconsider summer shows...lol! read more

Well, technically, I can't write a review of the venue itself because we never got close enough to see it. We were hoping to attend the U.S. Navy Band concert on 03/01/2020; however, parking was NONEXISTENT. We were stuck in traffic on A1A for 20 minutes, then we were directed to "satellite parking" at Anastasia State Park. We drove another 20 minutes and were directed to a parking lot. We parked and then we saw it: the line of people waiting for a shuttle. There were already about 75 - 80 people in line when we got there. After a few minutes, a small bus pulled up and started loading passengers. The lady who was driving got out, and said that she was the only bus running that day. [The bus capacity was 15 - 20 people at best.] We did the math, and according to our conservative estimate, we would not have arrived at the venue until after 4 p.m. [the concert started at 3 p.m.]. This would have been our first visit to The Amp. Based on our experience, we will not make another effort. Very disappointing... read more

Tried going to Winter Formal a year ago however parking was already entirely full and there was no other place to go. Wasted tickets, no refund, don't recommend. Don't put on a show that you can't have people park to. We had a blast! Red River Band is my new favorite local band! So fun!!! Why the three you ask? This place doesn't have nearly enough parking. Their sound system or acoustics or something was way off. After the first group played the guys in our group said the sound board guy might not have known what he was doing. It was funny my husband said that quietly to me in between bands then 3 min later I heard a couple of our other guys saying verbatim what he'd just mentioned. When the second band & new sound guy had the same problem we figured it was the venue which was later confirmed by a friend who'd been to concerts here. Back to the good stuff. We were here for the Taste of St Augustine event. Our group will make it an annual event. Only $5 each to get in. Food tickets a straightforward $1 per ticket. Most samples 3-5 tickets. Hippos fantastic little champagne mango popsicles were only 2 tickets. My deal level favorite was Megan's Irish Pub's tuna tartare! Can't wait to head to that establishment. But this review is for the venue itself. Really it's hard to give it only a 3 because we had a fantastic time. Can not wait for next year. But they need to address their sound system. If that was great, I'd forgive the parking issues bec they are probably landlocked in St Aug. Might not be much the can do about it other than what they are doing which was leering us park next door at the Elks. Less than 5 min walk. They still set aside plenty of Handicap parking close for those who needed it so they get major props for that. It was gorgeous weather which had to be mentioned since it was an outside event that depended on our beautiful Fl sunshine. The bathroom situation was good. No lines because There must have been 15 stalks in the lady's email. More props for keeping the bathrooms clean! Everyone was enjoying themselves at this event and we will return but if the main attraction was a concert I'd only go if the tickets were a steal. I'd rather be outside so it's a bit of a trade off sometimes going to outside concerts. We all know the acoustics can be sub par but since this is a permanent long standing venue, they ought to address their acoustics. If they do I'd probably switch this review up to a 5. Second visit to this venue to see Emmylou Harris. Parking was fine in the remote lot with the nice shuttle service (free). Pretty good getting in even though you can't even bring water in. Seating was really tight and the seat was killing me after two hours. The opening act was pretty good and the sound was on the loud side as expected. Not so for Emmylou Harris when she was on. The sound was overpowering even with foam ear plugs. Could not distinguish lyrics. By the time the house lights came up before the encore the aisles were full with people getting out. We heard the signature Two More Bottles of Wine from the outside. For long time Emmylou listeners, this concert was a huge disappointment. The band was probably great and so was Emmylou. Too bad the sound guy was apparently deaf and asleep at the switch. read more

We have lived in St Augustine for about 2 yrs when we decided to go to our first event at the Amphitheatre. It was a concert that we paid over $80 per ticket, then when we get there the lot was full. This caused the traffic to be so backed up that we ended up almost an hour late. When we did find a parking spot, it will cost you an extra $20 or be so far away that the you will think about using one of the bicycle taxis (another $20 each way). Once you are inside, the food was disgusting and the only straws that you are provided are make of paper. We both were getting paper in our mouths before we could finish out drinks. I continue to be super impressed with the St. Augustine amphitheater! What is lacks in size, it totally makes up for in amazing, loud and surrounding sound. I've seen a few shows here, including Wilco, Smashing Pumpkins, Buddy Guy... and from alt. country, blues to rock, and no matter where we are sitting, the music has sounded amazing. There are quite a few options for concert snacks and beer.... and as with any concert, there will be a long line for the ladies room. There is a nice patch of grass at the top with a designated smoking area and with the venue being on the smaller side, it is pretty easy to navigate. Unless you are running late for a show, and in that case, parking is gonna be a B! Definitely plan on getting there a bit early, so you won't have to pay to park in someone's yard across the street. And since it's an outdoor venue... cross you fingers it doesn't rain. (And if you forgot your poncho, expect to pay 20 bucks for one with the opportunist folks out front.) Lol, so I guess with the above mentioned, it sounds like I'm not the biggest fan, but if you have the heads up on these things, you can breeze right into the show and enjoy an amazing concert. I absolutely love this concert venue. For outdoor venues, it is by far my favorite. They put on amazing shows all the time, the staff is fantastic, and the venue is perfect. I highly recommend getting the premier parking. It is $10, but well worth it. You get to park close to the front gates, you are guaranteed a spot, and getting in and out of the venue before and after the concert is a lot easier than you would expect. So far I have been to the venue for Duran Duran, My2K Tour, and Chris Young and look forward to attending events in the future! This is a gem in the St. Augustine/Jacksonville area and I am glad we are fortune enough to have such a fantastic venue! read more

We went to the Emmy Lou Harris concert on March 4, 2022. Save your money because this venue is horrible. The Amphitheatre's biggest problem is their inability to regulate or understand sound. Her band sounded like a huge mass of loud, booming noise and her voice was like a little wavering, weak, high -pitched squeak above a mass of vibration. Her songs were incomprehensible. We like the performer and were very disappointed that this venue destroyed her sound. We have been to concerts in Nashville, Las Vegas, Texas and Biloxi. This was my very first time attending a concert at this venue. And hopefully not my last. Some friends and I made the trip from Orlando to see Sara Bareilles in concert not knowing what to expect since it would be our first time. The only thing we would've probably changed would be to give ourselves more time to find parking. Traffic was insane! By the time we go to the area, parking closer to the amphitheatre was full. We ended up finding a lot across the street that was offering $15 parking and thankfully it was only about a 2 minute walk. I was impressed that they had cops working to direct traffic and ensure that passengers could cross the street safely. Entering the amphitheatre was such a nonhectic and organized experience. Your bags(no outside food and drink) are checked at the door and then you are ushered to a line where your tickets are scanned. Once through, there are numerous vendors (all outdoors) mainly for food , drinks and souveniers. You may be stopped by a photographer to take your photo for 904 St. Augustine. The venue itself is rather intimate(all outdoors). The majority of the seating has a covering above so you are protected from the rain but you can still feel the breeze and sun from the sides. It was a little sticky and humid but once the sun set, it actually felt rather pleasant. We were seated in the 200 section . It wasn't too far away from the stage and the seats were moderately priced. Acoustics were perfect unlike some venues I've been to where the performance echoes. To be honest, I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. Money well spent. Exiting after the show was just as organized. Cops were there to direct traffic allowing pedestrians to cross the street. It did take a little longer to make our way through the traffic but that is to be expected. This outdoor venue is a wonderful place to attend a concert. My only reason for taking off a star is because of the last time we were there, it was so hot and humid and there was not a fan in sight. They do have a new deck with some stands that sell drinks from local breweries and food trucks will sometimes park on the end of the dock. Acoustics are spot-on and there is plenty of standing room as well as seating in the venue. We have seen Barenaked Ladies and Death Cab for Cutie at this venue. We like to eat at Its A Gas first since its pretty close and delicious. Some tips on transportation: Of course, it depends on how popular your event is.... but parking can be difficult. By the time we arrived at the venue, all the spots in the regular lot were taken. For $20 we parked at the Auxillary next door. There is also the option to park in the park/recreational area close by and take a shuttle to the venue, but we didn't want to have to wait in line for the shuttle on the way back. I wouldn't Uber because it could take a while to get a ride on the way back. read more

I have been to MANY concert venues in my life, I used to live outside Philadelphia! So I have been to some of the best venues of the north east including New York City! But in my humble but honest opinion, the St. Augustine Ampatheatre is THE BEST VENUE to see ANY concert at!! I recently saw Offspring, Bad Religion and Pennywise on August 19! At the St. Augustine Ampatheatre! It was my first time there! And I have to say It was my FAVORITE CONCERT I have EVER SEEN! They are some of my favorite bands, but the St. Augustine Ampatheatre played a HUGE role in making one of my dream shows PERFECT!! It is small, but not to small were you are packed in so tight and can't move or even see the stage! And it was large, but not to large. Were you need binoculars to see the stage! In all honesty the Ampatheatre is the PERFECT SIZE!! The acoustics are PERFECT! The seats are spacious and comfortable and there TRULY IS NOT A BAD SEAT IN THE WHOLE PLACE!! It is outside and VERY beautiful in Anastasia State park! But there are tarps over the stage and crowd. So you don't get wet when it rains! Which it does do A Lot of in FL! But open enough to have GREAT BREEZES going threw the WHOLE crowd!! The price is VERY reasonable! In this day and age where $75 concert tickets are the Norm, we paid around $35 a ticket! We were in the first section of seats maybe 5 rows up dead middle to the right! AMAZING seats!! I am very short ( maybe 5ft 2!) and even with tall men in the row in front of me I was able to see perfectly! There was a very nice general admission/ pit area! Which in my younger days and if I didn't have spinal problems I would've been in the middle of! It seemed to me there was great energy, amazing moshing! And everyone seemed to be very respectful of one another! There was NO violence for violence sake! Just everyone having an incredible time with great energy and music from the bands echoing and bouncing off the crowd!! There is PLENTY of parking! Either at the Ampatheatre itself, or at its 2 "satellite" parking options. One is at the Elks Lodge which is maybe 2 blocks away. The other is at R. B. Hunt Elementary school! Which The St. Augustine Ampatheatre supplies FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE!! There are also TONS of business's and private homes that offer pay parking! A very nice service, are bike taxis! They are fun! And at only $5 per person no matter how far you park is a GREAT deal!! For us we stayed to the very end! We were maybe the last people left! And we flagged down a bike taxi. Because we were the last, the guy charged us only $5 for the two of us!! As for the food! The St. Augustine Ampatheatre actually serves REAL FOOD and CHEAP! At most concert venues you get the smallest beer for $8! Here you get a YARD of either a margarita or a "Rumrunner" which is like an icy fruit punch with rum in it AMAZING epically on hot days or nights! For only $13!! Refills are $11, and you can add an extra shot of rum for either $2 or $4 depending ! As for concession food. I got a HUGE fountain soda for $5, and a like wise HUGE super pretzel for $2!! And the most AMAZING part, there is a REAL restaurant inside the Ampatheatre!! The Legendary Mojo's Taco shop!!! Great food, great prices, great atmosphere!! With two ATMS!! Like I said earlier The St. Augustine Ampatheatre is THE BEST AND MOST PERFECT PLACE TO SEE ANYTHING EVER!! If you are EVER in Northeast FL or southern Georgia I would DEFFITNLY RECOMMEND MAKING THE TRIP TO SEE A CONCERT AT THE ST. AUGUSTINE AMPATHEATRE!!! Believe me you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! This is my favorite venue of all time. I've been to Coachella, Miami music week, all the south Florida venues and live in New York now but the St. aug amp has VIBRANT ACOUSTICS!!! And a one-of-a kind intimate, special feel since it's in such a low-key area. I drove three hours to see my favorite band here back in May of this year and I am certain the experience wouldn't have been the same anywhere else. Grateful to have had the chance to experience this gem. If your fav band is playing shows in Florida, it's well worth going out of your way to see them at this venue in particular. Hands down best venue in Jacksonville. They have the best bands, seating, and sound quality. The shows are rain or shine. They have a membership "friends of St. Augustine amphitheatre" where you get early access to shows and free parking. I am pretty sure last annual fee was $75. They have several food and drink stands (alcohol included) some of which are pricey and cash only....and the lines can take forever. I think that is the only negative about the place. There is plenty of parking if you don't mind walking yet several neighbors close by charge $10-20 for a closer spot. I highly recommend you follow the concert calendar and get out and see some shows! read more

I attended the Amphitheater last night (Oct 26) to see Kevin Costner & his band, Modern West. We enjoyed the 'starting' act very much. HOWEVER, once Costner & Modern West came on, the volume was deafening. DEAFENING. We had to leave. We were not the only people to leave - several other couples left at the same time..and this was in the second song. When I asked a uniformed staff member was there anything that could be done about the deafening volume, she said, THREE TIMES, "I can't hear you". At that point, we were just outside the security entrance ... so hundreds of feet away from our seats. AND you still can't hear me! We left. Driving back into St. Augustine, my ears will still ringing - with pain. We went into a bar near our hotel and were telling the bartender we had to leave the concert because of the overwhelming volume ... and, oddly, they did the same thing! And other couple/same thing. I absolutely loved the Amphitheater. As a native Nashvillian, I've been to my fair share of concerts and this venue is perfect. We had tickets to last night's Ray LaMontagne show seats in the 100 section. We also purchased parking pass and I'm so glad we did. The line to get in was long but moved fast and I noticed several people had umbrellas and were told to either toss them, put them back in the car or I think I heard one guy say they could check them and get them back after the show. Several options for drinks. The first place we went advertised Dukes beer, 420 and Bud Light but did not have any Dukes or 420 (two other options instead) so that was confusing. We did find a tent near our seats with the right beers and location was great. The bathrooms were clean a majority of the evening and the lines were not too bad. I did see a couple of officers kicking ladies out of the mens room though (of course no line for that bathroom). Sound quality is excellent here as well. One of the best concert venue's I've ever been to...I would place it in my top 2 just behind the Ryman. read more

St Augustine Amphitheatre - Section 100 - Music Venues Near Me - Saint Augustine, Florida

Our whole universe was in a hot dense state, then nearly 14 billion years ago expansion started. Wait...Barenaked Ladies are coming to St. Augustine?? Count me in! I couldn't believe it. The band I had seen multiple times (including on a cruise) and had traveled to multiple cities over the last 13 years were finally going to end up in my hometown (sort of). Somehow tickets for the middle orchestra section (4th row) were cheaper than the GA Pit area. 5 years ago (and maybe even still today with the right group of people) I would have been all about the pit. This time I preferred to sit. Or at least have a chair to sit in from time to time when I wasn't dancing like a crazy person. This Ampitheatre is a solid venue. They've pulled in some really big acts over the last few years and it's the perfect size. It's not too big like the Veteran's Memorial Arena can sometimes feel and it's not too crowded like House of Blues or Hard Rock Live can sometimes feel. As Goldilocks would say, it's juuusst right. This time we parked. $10 bucks for parking right near the entrance - I'll take it. I wanted to get there early enough because I wanted to be able to park in their main lot rather than in the satellite lot(s) that were a trek away. I would have expected the parking lot to be a mad house upon exiting, but when you park they tell you exactly how you're going to be able to get out and it worked quite well. Modest Mouse played a fantastic show!! The service here is TERRIBLE...we waited in three different lines only to be told cash only (there were no signs) When we finally got our 4th line that took cards we waited in line for 15 minutes plus..and paid 30 dollars for two drinks! While the talent this place books is great the service staff really needs an overhaul..possibly new employees! read more

Although I hate paying such high beer prices (especially for light beer) this is a really great outdoor amphitheater! Nestled right in the park you can spend the day at the beach then head over for a show! The seating area is covered so there is some shade to be had. There is a general admission area right in front of the stage. The first and second levels are really close to each other and both seemed to be good seats overall! Ticket prices were decent but be warned there is a $10 charge to park when you arrive!!!! The parking was easy and we lucked out and got parking right at the front entrance! Lots of people were tailgating in the parking lot which looked fun even though it says no alcohol. read more
