I love bourbon and bourbon distillery's so this was a must have stop. The distillery is a very small craft operation, but the whole vibe revolves around the building, which used to be an ice company before home refrigerators and freezers became normal. They have a free self guided option with free samples or a few paid guided options also , even a bottle your own bottle to take home option. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly, they make their own bourbon, gin, rum and vodka on sight which all of their products can be bought at the gift shop at the end of the tour. They do everything at that location even hand bottling all their products. The only thing that isn't done at that location is their barrel aging.
Loved our experience here and for 5 bucks a person it's a great way to sample their products and head to the gift shop. No one's pushing you to buy anything which I like. It's a no pressure scenario. They get our money and we get to try 4 drinks . It's their bourbon, rum, gin and vodka with mixers . The people serving us were very nice and the place was clean and tidy and it was fun looking at all of the barrels. It is a must do when you are in St Augustine . Their spirits are smooth and tasty
The Distillery is decorated for Christmas and I'm loving every bit of it. The holiday spirits are high in more than one way with their self guided free tasting. Annabelle was phenomenal as one of the bartenders for gin and rum, Mike was also very knowledgeable. We tried the mule mix with vodka, the gin with the citrus mix, and I tried the bourbon mix with the straight bourbon and the port rum. I highly recommend this distillery! 10/10
Wow wow wow the easiest 5 stars! We came here on a recommendation from a friend, and now I'm recommending it to everyone who comes to St. Augustine! We did the free self-guided tour, which includes 4 cocktail samples (not a whole drink, just a sample). Every single one was delicious and smooth, and served fresh by a bartender in different areas throughout the tour. There were signs explaining the different parts of the distilling process, an all of the staff were knowledgeable and helpful, especially the girl in the last room.
I bought a ticket for the Spirit of Florida Bourbon Experience. I checked in at the counter quite early, and was given a wristband for the tour. We were invited to visit the gift shop or wait in the lobby before the tour started. We were given free samples of a Florida mule drink while we waited as well. When the tour started, we were sent to a classroom like are where we were lectured about the spirits and given 4 different samples to try. Then we visited the distillery area and learned how their process worked. Our guide, Nelson, was very informative and entertaining, and the spirits were very strong. I wished we were given the spirits samples at the end as we we were quite tipsy and lost track of what our guide was discussing, but I guess better early then late so you can sober up and drive safely back home. The gift shop was nice and had lots of souvenirs to buy, and there was even a restaurant too. I didn't buy any gifts or eat in the restaurant, but maybe next time. Parking was free at their lot, but it can get difficult to find one during the busy hours. For 40 dollars after taxes and fees, the guided tour was nice and informative. And the samples are pretty strong. It was a fun and enjoyable experience, and will definitely be back for another experience.
Great Free tasting tour - 3 mixed tasting then straight liquors at the end on their store. They have you walking around to a couple of stations. You get your ID checked, get a wristband and fill out info on an iPad. Walking in to the first area, it seemed small but then it opens up to their distillery area and the store which was much bigger Everyone was pretty friendly and knowledgeable. They gave you a little story or info on the liquors and mixes. The vodka was surprisingly good for being made with the usual Florida cane. Reminded me more of a rum since it's made with sugar canes that look similar to it. It was pretty smooth and had to try a couple straight shots to make sure it was actually that good. No astringent aftertaste at all. The higher proofed and "overproofed" named rums were actually nicely made as well. Good finish with that burn, it would definitely be good in mixed cocktails. Especially with either Tiki mixer which was compared to a painkiller
The distillery was beautiful and nice but the lady that checked this out was rude as can be FYI there are no prices on the whiskey on the shelves for the higher in whiskeys. We thought we were paying $80 and when we went to bring up two bottles it was $408 and she copped an attitude and we said oh no we don't want those .
Upon arrival, the distillery looks small but once you get inside, it's rather large and really cool because it wraps around into a restaurant located right next-door. We came for the tasting, we left with several bottles. For me? I call that success. Everyone was so genuine, extremely knowledgeable and their to make you have a good time. We tried several different spirits and even paid for the cool 10 year aged bourbon. The only complaint was that it was extremely crowded and there were constant waves of people so I would recommend if you don't like crowds to do the $35 private
I had a great time visiting this distillery. It was engaging, the employees were all super friendly & who can say no to a self guided tour with free samples?! From the moment you walk in there's someone to greet you & explain what they have to offer. There's a variety of drinks to sample & they tell you how to make the cocktails if you want to do it at home. The distillery is on the smaller side but you can really see how much character is packed within their walls. You're surrounded by the barrels & stills that they use to craft their delicious bourbons in while the smell of their mash fills your nostrils. It's heavenly. I also did the "perfect pair tasting experience" which only costs $24. During this, you're given 3 samples of their bourbon along with 3 specialty truffles from a local chocolatier. The idea behind this experience is learning how to profile the bourbons based off its many different flavor notes. The guide gives a history of the drinks, as well as the distillery & helps you navigate the fun task of sampling flavorful bourbons. I strongly recommend giving this tour a go if you want to enjoy your visit even more than what they offer for free! They even credit you part of your tour fee back as a gift card to use in their shop after. Coming here is a great time if you're looking for something to do a little off the beaten path of downtown. You can definitely make a good time out of your visit here if you play your cards right. There's multiple guided experiences also, one of which you can bottle your own bourbon during. If the free route is more your pace then you'll still be plenty satisfied with your visit. I can't wait to come back when I'm in the area.
The St. Augustine Distillery The Spirit of Florida Bourbon Experience was very informative, engaging and enjoyable! Patrick our instructor (Bourbon steward) guided us throughout the tour, which started in a classroom setting, with the introduction to bourbon, then through the Distillery (on a very warm and humid afternoon) to learn about how the Bourbon was made and as such ended at the gift shop, throughout which we enjoyed several tastings.

The distillery is amazing. Staff is very friendly and they have tons of history to explore in relation to their distilling practices. They provide a variety of bourbon, and gin. They offer samples throughout and the bartenders are very knowledgeable about the product. The Saint is the best option at this distillery. Next time I go I will do the VIP tour. read more
We went to the distillery and they have a self-guided tour. At various points during the tour you are offered "tasting cups" that contain their mixers and alcohol. Some of the tasting attendants displayed a "bored" lack of effort in explaining the samples or what was in them, so it was a little lack-luster. Perhaps due to COVID their tour changed and they are off their game slightly. read more

This is a very good restaurant in the St Augustine's distillery. The vodka, gin and whiskey tasting was already good. Their very of the 'Mosco' mule (Florida mule) was fantastic. After purchasing their smoked whiskey and Vodka which was reasonably priced, we found their restaurant. The food was surprisingly good and a fun loud restaurant/ bar atmosphere. Busy and need to be patient- takes a while to get the food. So take the trolley, be patient and stay safe. See my pictures. Wowsers.. upstairs bar and the. Outside does not disappoint. The house drinks are creative and delicious. We were a one and done as this was on walk(thankfully) to or car. I cannot wait to return for a dinner and a longer evening of delicious concoctions. read more

We love this place! Been here several times before so why I've never left a review Boggs my mind. But here we go. They offer self guided tour of the brewery and offer plenty of samples along the way. My fav here is the Florida Mule. And yes they have a gift shop that you walk into after the sampling room where you can sample more liquor and also make your purchase selections. Staff is always super friendly and explains the drinks they are serving. Very cool to see the barrels and smell the facility. Have your kiddos with ya, no worries! They can come along the tour just no drinks for anyone under 21. They do stamp their hands to show That they are under age. I purchased the Florida Mule gift set which came with the distillery's vodka and Florida Mule drink mix as well as a mule cup. Can't have a mule in just any cup! Recommend the tour and also a visit to the Ice Plant which is located upstairs and serves full size of the sample drinks as well as food. read more

As Banksy famously said, the exit is through the gift shop. Yes, it was there where I collected liquid souvenirs of my long weekend vacation. But, let's go back to the beginning. The true beginning was actually brunch next door, at the Ice Plant Restaurant. With lots of industrial architecture and exposed materials, this was the commercial ice plant for St Augustine that was redeveloped into a great restaurant. I took the self-guided tour of the brewery portion after my meal. There were always one or two employees at each station, whether serving samples from their collection. My favorite, of course, was their Florida sugarcane & molasses based rum. It's also aged in bourbon barrels for an extra oomph of flavor. There's also a port-based bourbon I enjoyed. I got to see one of the rooms with a lot of historical info on commercial ice production, the different bins, the tasting room and of course left through the gift shop. They sell both individual bottles as well as gift sets that include rum, vodka & bourbon. You can also find shot glasses, whiskey snifters and moscow mule cups, as well as flavor mixers. Definitely a must -try! read more
The food here is Superb! We had lunch here and while I wish we would have made it to breakfast their lunch was amazing! I loved the old time vibes they have going from another era which is my favorite from the servers outfits to the decor. From drinks to food while pricey definitely worth it! We took the tour they have of the distillery and you can walk around the building and take it if you're of course 21+ and try their free samples! Our favorite was the Moscow mule but while I was hesitant to try it since I know I don't like them he said the number one thing people hate (me included) is the ginger beer and they didn't include it. A must-visit St. Augustine locale! If you're a lover of hard liquor and cocktails, this tour is for you. Tours are entirely self-guided during COVID, so after checking in at the museum/information center at the front, you're pointed to drink stations where you try cocktails made from in-house mixers and liquors. My friends and I were concerned we'd be taking shots of pure liquor, but were very happy that we'd be trying out cocktails instead. My favorite was The Florida Mule and the Old-Fashioned. The bartenders were all very knowledgeable and friendly. I appreciated all the info they provided about each drink. Everyone was masked up and hand sanitizer was everywhere. If you're looking to take home a memorable souvenir, you can pour your own bourbon bottle for $150! I definitely want to come back once COVID restrictions are lifted to get the full tour experience. Very cool experience! It is amazing to see how it all comes together. There was even workers bottling and sealing bottles. The self guided tour is a nice touch. There are 5 drinks that you get to have a taste of. All very tasty the old fashion was my favorite! You end in the gift shop tons to choose from! St. Augustine Distillery is one of my must visit places whenever I visit the city! They offer free tours with 4 tastings. The tour is very short and not much to see but I appreciate trying the different types of alcohol. I tried the Moscow mule, gin and tonic, old fashioned, and a final rum drink. Nicolas was a star tour guide and helped my friend answer her questions regarding the distillery process. At the end of the tour, they have a bar area that allows you to sample any of the liquors they have. They have a 126 proof rum that is very strong but has a unique taste. Attached to the distillery, is a restaurant/bar upstairs. After our tour, our group when to the bar upstairs and enjoyed the drinks. Overall, I would recommend this place if you haven't been here before. They have a decent selection of liquor for a small distillery- rum, gin, bourbon, and vodka. read more

Loved the tour here and the tastings. I absolutely love their tonic syrup. I wish they sold it here in Miami, but I haven't found it. Another good thing they sell is the Old Fashioned mix. I bought it as a present for some friends and they really enjoyed it :) Can't wait to come back when things are more normal and I'm not so paranoid about how full the place is. read more

Went on a Sunday so it wasn't too busy. Staff were friendly and wonderful and what I liked was they gave samples that were mixed drinks so a Florida mule, a citrus-y gin and tonic, a tiki rum drink and an old fashioned. And they told you how to make it at home. Could also walk through and see how it's made. Great stop for a day in St. Augustine and what's better: the tour is free! read more

First time visiting St. Augustine and brother and sister in law, who've visited before, recommended we stop by the St. Augustine Distillery. We stopped by the Visitor Center upon arrival (incidentally, you can park there for free and save $15 if you present a Veterans Affairs (VA) ID card) and were given a detailed and entertaining overview of the city by Christian. It's a walkable city (don't take the tram lady's word that it isn't) and we made our way to the distillery in no time. Housed in an old Ice Plant, St. Augustine Distillery opened in 2013. We just did the free self-guided tour which came with free samplings. The first sampling was of Florida Mule, their take on Moscow Mule. That was quite good. Other samples were of Rum Tiki, Gin and Tonic and Old Fashioned (that was strong)...we all thought the Florida Mule was the best. It was a worthwhile stop. Their gift shop had some interesting items and they even offer a military discount. They also have a restaurant on the premises. PS...bought their whole bean Bourbon Barrel Rested Coffee and it was quite good with just a hint of bourbon with its smell and taste. read more

The experience was easy to book and everyone was so accommodating and extremely friendly. My husband is deaf and uses Sign Language. When I emailed to ask if they would provide an interpreter they emailed me back quickly that they would try to provide one. They also provided complimentary tickets in case they could not get an interpreter. When we arrived they knew exactly who we were and prepared an iPad with a CC sim-com app, so that my husband could not miss out on the experience. Loved the classroom style setup, our bourbon expert was fun and knowledgeable. We would do this again & recommend to all our friends and family! read more

This was the best distillery I have ever visited! We did the free tasting tour. Everything we tried was amazing. We got samples of all the best they had to offer! My particular favorites were the gin and maple syrup. The distillery was beautiful and the staff were amazing as they gave samples, shared the history of the place, and helped us find things we liked. We ended up buying some nice bottles to take home and some tees. 10/10 would recommend if you're visiting the area! read more

We really enjoyed our tour of the St. Augustine distillery. The tour was just the perfect amount of time at about an hour long. Our guide Patrick was awesome! He was super knowledgable and friendly. Also, the amount of free tastings walking around the distillery is quite generous! I would definitely recommend taking a tour! read more
A nice place to visit when in St. Augustine if you are a gin, whiskey, and cocktail fan. They feature a free tasting tour that we joined in. The tour is self guided and you get to see the distillery, the bottling line, and the barrels aging the spirits. In the free tasting you try several of their cocktails such as their gin and tonic and their mule. Later in the tasting they let you try their whiskey and their gin. My favorite spirit on the tour was the gin. Check them out real cool spot located in the same building as my favorite st augustine restaurant and bar, the ice plant. read more

The taste pairing tour is a great time. you'll learn the basics of tasting and have a great time with the guide. highly recommended if you like bourbon or not. Im not a fan of bourbon I'm more of a beer person but really enjoyed the experience. The team member running the tasting was super knowledgeable and the classroom and tour were great. read more

Firs time going, We were doing the trolley tour and this was one of the stops but waited for another time to go. We didn't get to try the restaurant just because of the wait, which is okay. Social distancing was good they had circles so people knew the spacing everyone had to follow. They had a couple tastings which can be for everyone's liking. Also at the end the have a little gift shop that you can sample something that caught you attention or buy something to take for the road which is great. read more
