Craft cocktails and wonderful mocktails are served at Sugar Works! We were in town for a long weekend on the beach and when I saw this place n Yelp, it was bookmarked immediately. It's a cute place inside - it's clean and well decorated, the staff is very friendly, and most importantly they really put the CRAFT in craft cocktails. They're dehydrating their own garnishes, and they taste and smell delicious! There is no mocktail menu, but the gentleman bartender (with the fancy mustache!) offered to make one for my companion. It was amazing... we still talk about it today. Creamy, dreamy, sour/sweet, strawberry goodness. It was a ten out of ten. I had this creative and fun cocktail made with Hawaiian Punch foam. I was worried it'd be overly sweet, but decided to go for it. So glad I did - super balanced and just perfect! My only complaint was that we were pressed for time and only had time for one round. That's on us! LOL. Next time I'm remotely close by, I would stop in for more fabulous drinks here! read more

Not quite food but in the same ballpark. Sugar Works Distillery is making some fine adult refreshments all in one location here. Every step of the process is done here, that way they can make sure of the quality. We stopped by to get a small bottle of their Blueberry and Cherry Shine and sampled a Simply Blue and a Get Stoned which each used one of those shines in each drink. Very good and very smooth. We'll definitely be back in the future for some of their other products. They're wonderful folks to deal with and very helpful with questions and as you see we even got a bit of a tour! read more

Husband and I took my mother in law yesterday. We were greeted as we walked in by Tyler. He was very knowledgeable about all things craft cocktail and gave us a little behind the scenes tour. I ordered the Spa Day. Mom had In the Weeds and my husband had a flight. All were delicious. We left with a bottle of vanilla rum, gold rum and a t shirt. Absolutely love this little hidden gem in NSB!! Christy makes the best Old Fashioned ever!!! and is so great and lets you watch her make them and will teach you how to make them as well. All of the staff are fantastic and their bourbon holds its own against much more expensive bougie bourbon! It is now our favorite!! We found this little gem on the monthly "Sip and Stroll". The service and passion from the team working there was top notch. We loved learning about their craft and the drinks were so good. We watched the team there go out of their way multiple times to service people. My brother liked his vanilla beer. My mom wanted a glass of wine that wasn't part of the Sip and Stroll and they offered that up too. We will definitely be back. It's hard to find a place like this anymore! read more

What a hidden gem!!! A neat distillery that is made and bottled on site. The owner Mike, and bar manager, Tyler are super friendly, will tell you the story of the products and if not too busy will show you the still room. Their products range from some flavored moonshine. A clear 100 proof shine but their signature bourbon whiskeys vodka are like non other. Their aged IPA bourbon is so smooth and it's like drinking a 92 proof beer. The inside has a nice bar to sit and a few high top tables. Also a very nice patio. Plenty of signature cocktails to choose from. read more

They just started being open on Sundays! Woot Woot~ Sundays are the day that John & I go out exploring and a day trip to New Smyrna Beach meant I was checking on distilleries, breweries, eateries and more. I've been slowly checking off distilleries from the Florida Distillery Trail (https://www.floridacraftspirits.org/florida-distillery-trail/) and this one was within reach. We arrived midday in the blazing heat and entered into a small, but wonderful tasting room. A few scattered tables and bar, plus a wall of merchandise and a small space for live entertainment made for a delightful first stop. Two young ladies manned the bar and made craft cocktails and poured us a flight of spirits. The printed menu didn't have everything listed, so be sure to check out the chalk board on the right side of the board. I failed to see it until after I picked my flight! We tried rums! Hmmm~ the rum is not all gone here! Gold Rum- little spicy, warm notes of vanilla and caramel Vanilla Rum- the vanilla bean notes are light, John and I agreed this one would be great for cocktails Toasted Coconut- more on the nose for flavor and a touch of natural sweetness Spiced Rum- lovely spices up front, anise in the middle (not overpowering- because I don't like anise), finished warm and smooth Extra tiny samples: Port Finished Rum- oh how do I love port finished spirits! Whiskey- even though it was a rye, it was very smooth & pear moonshine which I bought! Our bartender enjoyed her job, which made for a delightful tasting and great banter! This was such a neat little place to stop in for a drink and some great live music. We were very excited to check out their moonshine and other spirits during our beach weekend. They were out of several things which we were kind of bummed about but the bartender was able to offer other recommendations which were all lovely. We ended up with The Duchess (which I think was my fave), Apricot Smash, Endless Summer and I think (?) the Cinnamon Sour. Everything was delicious! Service was a little slow, at times it seemed the bartenders were more focused on chatting with their regulars. The live music was lovely and it was a great way to end our evening. I can't believe we hadn't come sooner. The drinks were absolutely delicious. Everything is made from scratch: the bitters, dehydrated ingredients, even perfumes for the glass. We were blown away and happy to have met Tyler. They change their menu seasonally, we caught first day of spring menu and the Fly Boy was my favorite. (3/24/2021) We weren't sure what to expect, but were curious about a distillery in such a little town. The craft spirits were robust, had a little edge. We sampled the spiced rum, white, and gold. They also make an agave-based, and two whiskeys, one cinnamon-flavored. We came in exactly at opening, so may have surprised them a little, this being 11:00 AM on a weekday. We got a very brief "tour," really we were just looking around. Really looking forward to the change in licensing so they can start selling cocktails. I love everything about this place! I have a ton of food allergies including coloring and have to be careful when selecting beverages. Sugar Works makes everything fresh and natural and I know I don't have to worry when I order it out or make a drink at home. The owners are super knowledgable and can always answer any questions you have about all of their spirits and even know a ton of delicious recipes that they are happy to share. (Most are on their website now) The tour is fun because you can see exactly how it is made and see how much effort that goes into making it. This upstart distillery is worth taking the time to stop and taste the spirits! We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and the friendly knowledgeable owner offered to give us a tour of his distillery and then sample his wares. We enjoyed seeing the back room where it all happens and learn their process. Then he generously poured us samples of their rum, moonshine and whiskey. The rum is crisp and clean and is good alone or for mixing into your favorite cocktail. The moonshine carries quite a punch, but can be toned down by mixing with lemonade or into a creative cocktail of your choosing. They are experimenting with trying new liqueurs and seem to have lots of ideas for their growth. The tasting room is still be worked on so for now there's a bar to belly up to with plans for seating soon. We really enjoyed our visit. read more
