Ellis Hospital does not provide patients with any ACTUAL FOOD. At least nothing edible. Fresh veg is NEVER provided, rather they serve some dead, frozen veg along with a TINY burger in a HUGE bun (white bread, of course), and the only beverages provided other than water have HFCS in them, same as all of the "desserts". It's as if they actually want their patients to be unhealthy. The basic neglect and unacceptable level of "care" is off the charts. When a bed-ridden patient rings the bell and then has to wait TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES for someone to show up it is unacceptable. I find it difficult to believe Ellis has kept its JCAHO accreditation. According to Google they have it, but I cannot fathom why they still do. This place seems to be at least 20 years behind normal standards. Their doctors do not even carry tablets. They seem to rely on "memory" for everything a patient tells them. I have yet to see even ONE "doctor" write down or log anything. Hell, I have never seen ANY medical "professional" log ANYTHING AT ANY TIME. DO NOT EVER allow ANYONE you love to be sent to Ellis Hospital. You will regret it.

I couldn't BELIEVE the amount of people who were here hours after me and then were seen before me. The common phrase overheard "I was here last night and left because the wait was so long I'm feeling worse today." There is clearly no systems in place here to help patients in a timely manner. I only came here cause all urgent cares were closed at the time I needed assistance. Wait times now are going on 3.5 hours. I'm only staying at this location because I have committed to waiting here for this long. If you need assistance seek help elsewhere. I can't comment on the care cause I haven't been seen... I will update this review after being seen. Update #1: we have hit the four hour mark. The RN behind the counter sincerely cares for patients you can tell she is doing anything she can to get people in. We will wait a bit longer and give a second update. Update 2: Nurses in back are very friendly! I would have less severe and severe rooms to reduce wait times for all patients. There was NO reason to be here four hours for what I needed to be seen for. The only reason to come here was because nothing else was open at the time and my primary told me to.

My daughter went for a new patient visit as she recently moved to the area. The NP then proceeded to order numerous tests and procedures and then referred her to an oncologist without reviewing the results. The oncologist told my daughter that the tests were unneccesary and that she does not have cancer. My daughter then received 8 different bills totally thousands of dollars. Ellis has not returned phone calls. I would stay far, far away from Ellis Medicine.

The day RN was all but cold to me obviously more interested in dealing with mother baby patients.. Even had the nerve to ask me if I needed the plastic surgery or did I just want it.I felt very insulted. She offered no assistance with locating my husband or showing guidance in the process. I even asked her if they took me out in a wheel chair ect... Her response was "you walk in you walk out" I am an RN myself and was horrified with her treatment. I took my belongings and tried finding my way to the lobby, I was very light headed and weak two staff members noticed I was not doing well and questioned me why I wasn't in a wheelchair, I told them what the nurse had said , they righted her wrong and were extremely apologetic.

She had extremely high blood pressure for which she ended up landing up in the ER.. and asked if she could be given something to control the BP after her discharge.. she was told the medication she was already taking would suffice to help the BP... when really that medication (i later confirmed with her cardiologists office) was only to help with the heart rate irregularities she was experiencing. Her cardiologists office confirmed that the nurse in the ER was wrong. 65 different nurses will come visit you in a matter of 24 hours but none of them know what is going on. It's almost like there is 0 to minimal documentation that is done with fidelity and integrity. When you ask them for something they look at you as if you have 0 right to ask them for anything. It's absolutely disgusting.

But then weeks later we received the bill of $1800.00 and that is with insurance folks. $1800.00 to take our blood pressure. YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND... We will not be paying this bill. Riddiculous. The receptionist (D) was great but said she could not get the results there and submitted a request that the results to be sent to my doctor and emailed to me. Wednesday, I called my doctor and no results, no email. I got fed up and went back to that urgent care at Sitterly Road. I figured this was the only way I could get the results. All this time I'm still having a quite a bit of discomfort and really want answers. I was seen and treated in a very timely fashion. The people I dealt with, D, nurses and doctor were perfect. Thursday 10/30 (that's a full week now) my doctor's office received the results and I got an email that my test results are available FOR $6.50!!! Dealing with them was literally a pain in the .....

I showed up at 8 am, and by 8:07 I was in with an MD! By 9, when CVS opened, I had my antibiotic eyedrops. I had a similar experience in the summer when I was seen at walk-in within minutes. The walk-in hours are a great idea for minor medical problems and much appreciated!
