I visit her once a month (or so) and we have gone to the resident dining maybe twenty times. From the first time I was shocked by the quality of the food. My first time I was expecting an old-school cafeteria-style food service with metal trays and food slopped onto the plate. This was completely different. The food was shockingly good, and the meal of the day (lunch) always has a soup, a main meal and a dessert. It's not overly fancy but the food in actually really tasty and they give you good size portions. The staff are very attentive and polite and the experience is a very pleasant dining experience. Today we had garden vegetable soup along with pot roast, scalloped potatoes and peas, with apple pie for dessert. The pot roast was excellent and the potatoes were exceptional. You know the food is good when the head chef/manager of food service is there talking with residents to make sure she gets feedback concerning the food that she prepared. Currently the dining area in being remodeled and should be done by the end of this year. So, the dining area currently is less then amazing, and what they can offer is limited. I'm looking forward to the new dining experience once they have their grand opening later this year.

Claremont Manor is a special place which has the benefit of providing almost every kind of senior care & housing you could imagine. It is staffed by administrators who are friendly, caring and approachable. They and the auxiliary staff make our stay here happy and enjoyable. So much so that they made us feel more like friends than residents. The Manor offers great food, beautiful surroundings, interesting events, fun parties and outings to restaurants, shopping, museums& other places of interest near & far. In short, Claremont Manor is a wonderful place to live.

I don't think I fully appreciated the quality of her living situation until the last few weeks. My mom suffered a fall and needed hip replacement. My mom will be returning home tomorrow after surgery to a full array of help from familiar faces. Ten days in a skilled nursing/rehab hospital is a stark reminder of how much we need places like Oakmont to care for our elderly. I am so thankful that she sold her house and moved to assisted living before we were up against the wall with a health crisis. I know she will be well cared for at Oakmont.

I also cannot say enough about the administrative staff. They were wonderful in helping with the transition, coordinating aftercare, communicating with specialists, and navigating the insurance process. Their support and communication made a stressful situation so much easier for our family. We are truly grateful for the care my mom received.

What a job. You never have to return telephone calls. If this facility cannot return a phone call, I am suspect of what type of medical care they are giving to their patients. If you do have family there, and have issues, please call the LA County Ombudsman's office at (800) 334-9473. You can also contact the Medical Board of California www.mbc.ca.gov to file a complaint. Although there were some unpleasant moments there, I loved seeing the rest of the facility and visiting the refreshments corner of the dining room. It would have been beneficial for us to do be able to work in other areas, but I guess I should have picked a better school. If you're an employee here (one of our students is a med tech here), you're free to use the swimming pool, and meals are discounted. I think for a normal person, it's around $9. It is made to order, so it looks pretty fresh. Next to it is the bird sanctuary, and a block or two away is there woodwork shop, although I personally never saw it. They have residential and assisted living surround the cafeteria, and across from the Woods side is the memory care unit, which we did not enter. It has a peaceful vibe to it and is nice to walk around. Definitely get a tour of the place with someone, so you can see everything.

Instead she offered to send (message, images) via email. Still not showing, nor anything in my message center. I'm sure I did something wrong, so I'll make another call to see if she's not too busy to give me a tour. Then I'll be more willing to offer an opinion about this business.

When I received the news that my father had passed, the first thing I was told after that was I need to be there instantly! Excuse me! I live in hacienda heights, and I had to go to West Covina to go pick up my mother. I could not be there instantly I told the male nurse over the phone. You need to train your staff to speak in a more sensitive way. Especially after a bad news had given to the family. "I am so sorry your dad has passed, however; we do have policy the body has to be removed in x amount of the hours. Please drive safely to get here asap when you can." This was the way, your staff should have spoken to me, 2 years ago. I did not complaint before because I was in total shock! Do Not take advantage of people's grief and depression again! I see a lot of work as they're trying to make improvements. For a visitors, employees, and residence of this facility. I had a question where my friend was located at. They were very quick to look in the computer and guide you which way to walk closer to the room. Smiles on each of the workers. For they truly care of what type of care they give to each resident that lives there. They work with post acute patients that come out of the hospital. Claremont Heights provides physical therapy so the residence can be more independent so they can go home quicker. The beautiful activity room was wonderful to see as this is a heart of each residence, getting better and stronger and feeling loved. They provide the medication each residents needs. The check-in kiosks is so easy to understand and use. Once you walk in the lobby, the staff is very happy that you were there very kind and always has a smile on their face. The only downfall I noticed is the facility. Some rooms have cracked in the ceiling and in the wall. There needs to be a custodian team to keep the rooms swept and cleaned to whether you'll find trash on the ground. To all the nurses that work there the CNA's that work there the kitchen crew that works there. I am so thankful that every resident has a smile on their face, knowing they are safe and well loved. There are vending machines and some courtyards so the residence can buy their favorite snacks. The roses and the colors of the gardening are just so beautiful. It feels like you were at home. When you walk into the lobby, there is music being played. And there is a TV screen and it shows the most amazing colors of every season like a picture window.
