Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had at a medical facility. I denied certain testing because I was self-pay and simply asked for a better explanation. The nurse left the room to speak with the doctor--who had never mentioned the treatment in question--and they proceeded to discuss me (aka have a little ER pow wow talking about me) outside the room with the door left wide open. I could hear the entire conversation for several minutes before deciding to leave. Beyond the lack of professionalism, the doctor appeared uncomfortable, distracted, and uninterested throughout the visit. Communication was poor, transparency was lacking, and patient privacy seemed to be an afterthought. For a healthcare facility, basic respect, professionalism, and bedside manner should be the minimum standard. This experience fell far short. If you hate your job, stop practicing. Patients don't want to be there just as much as you don't. Do better, St. David's. read more

I went to the ER for an Asthma flare and the staff all seemed annoyed that I was there. Dr Bradley spent about 2 minutes in the room and didn't listen to my concerns. We ended up having to go somewhere else for care. I've never been treated so poorly at a hospital. read more

Came here last night with a 104 fever they didn't do any tests just gave me ibuprofen and sent me home. Today still running a 103 fever!

I've been there twice and each time they said nothing was wrong withme. As I'm coughing up blood and running high fever, this staff needs to take their job more seriously whether patients do not have or have insurance or find any profession. read more

I have been using this location since it opened up. It's a nice addition to the growing area and makes it easier on local residents by avoiding driving to the Georgetown location. I've never had to wait terribly long, unless I'm waiting on labs, xrays or some other type of results. Take advantage of the emptiness before the population nearby increases. read more

A doctor gets mad when it runs out of patients! State of the Art- they use iPads and Virtual registration, wow this really is 2022. The rep was pretty fast at taking insurance info and getting me registered. Saw me right away- as soon as I walked in Wednesday morning at 9am I was taken back to a room to be seen. It doesn't get faster than that. Doctor was friendly- he gave off Martin Short Vibes..which is , but he seemed genuine and thorough. This was a quick easy visit for me. read more

I have unfortunately had to use the ER many times and rarely have a good experience. This place is awesome! Clean, quiet, super fast at getting you in and out. The doctors have been awesome and not just rushing out of there barely talking to you. The nurses were attentive and made sure you were good before leaving the room. read more

We've been here three times as it is close and convenient for us. Every time we come in, we are put in a room and only checked on every other hour. If we ask for assistance we are left waiting- while there is no more than two patients in the entire hospital. Not to mention how many people I've had to watch walk up to the front of the "Emergency room" and wait for a nurse to show up. The doctors and nurses have been kind and helpful when they are in the room, I just think there is a lack of urgency and passion in the environment. Seems to think many other reviewers agree. Not to mention we weren't told what his test results were so I hope negative, and were sent away without knowing why he had been throwing up and without any sort of referral. read more

New to the Leander are I knew very few people. I had pain in my right side and needed to make sure my kidneys were ok. The staff were incredible, friendly to this newcomer which I appreciated. They were competent, asked all the right questions and the doctor was very good. Checked me out and ordered bloodwork and an abdominal CT. The doctor and I had helpful conversation while waiting. He made appropriate referrals after CT and I am thankful for good news and a great resource in St David's ER. read more

The care I received was horrible. I went in because I was experiencing an allergic reaction in my eyes and the swelling was getting worse. I was prescribed antibiotic drops and allergy drops and was sent on my way. The doctor spent probably 5 mins with me and didn't even do a full exam but told me that I will be better in 4 days. 24 hours later my right eye swelled up so bad I could barely open it and my left eye started to swell up as well. I called the nurse line to see to explain that my symptoms were worsened she told me that she couldn't tell me to come in and I had to make that decision on my own. When I told her that I was scared because I didn't know what was happening and I didn't know if this was normal all she said to me what that she couldn't help me unless I came in, when I said thank you she just hung up. She was extremely rude. I decided to go to another place and it turns out I was supposed to actually get steroids to help with the swelling. I'm really glad I decided to go somewhere else because if I just trusted this one doctor then I would of probably had to been hospitalized. I honestly wasted my time and money coming here. And I recommend to not go to this location. read more

Doctor: Dr. Robert Simpkins Nurse: Ral? Male, Asian nurse It was 3AM and our daughter was experiencing a high fever along with a runny nose, cough, & fussiness. Her temp. got to 102 and we gave her Tylenol. A few minutes after giving her Tylenol my husband and I noticed that as she was sitting on my lap she started jolting forward - as if she was going to fall asleep, but jerks herself up. She does this for about 5 minutes. It scared the hell out of us and decided to call an advice nurse. Long story short she transferred us to a doctor and the doctor said that it might be a febrile seizure and that we should take her to the emergency ASAP. We do just that and as we're heading out the door we do a quick Yelp search to see which closest ER would be best for our baby girl. Sadly the closest ones all kind of had bad reviews. This was the closest and we decide with her condition it's better to get her to a doctor quick. What a bad idea. Just entering the facility we already had a horrible experience. Imagine walking into an ER facility and not seeing anyone in sight. There was nobody at the front desk to greet us. Next to the front desk was a door and a buzzer, we pressed it and a few seconds later a lady comes out to the front desk and 2 other people follow behind her taking their places in front of their comps. We were like, ok, whatever, at least they quickly came out. Only to find out this was just the beginning. I think his name is Ral, a male, Asian nurse, took us inside into the ER room and he seemed friendly at first, but he kept referring to my baby as a "he". I kindly corrected him and told him that she is a "she" & even joked that maybe she'll change her pronoun later on in life, he laughed, but he continued to use "he". We told her, I mean him, all of our daughter's symptoms and then he attached a sensor to her toe. She was fine. Then he proceeded to take her rectal temperature and she cried sooo much. I've been taking her rectal temp. and she's never reacted that way before. I'm thinking must've stuck it up deep or harshly. But I have no proof of this. He didn't offer her any comfort or say sorry. Then Dr. Robert Simpkins, came in and the experience got even worse. The doctor checked her ears and after checking she cried like she has never cried before. She's gotten her ears checked plenty of times by doctors and nurses all her life and she's never cried that way! I knew in my gut there was something wrong. She cried so loud for so long I could barely make out what the doctor was saying and I couldn't comfort her as fast as I am used to. The doctor told us that it wasn't a seizure and that it might just be an ear infection, although still worried, we were glad it wasn't a seizure. He said that she didn't need any further testing from what he could see and wanted to give her an antibiotic & a fever reducer. That horrible nurse came back and ripped the sensor off our little girl's toe and she cried like crazy & again he didn't show any remorse or comfort! Such a fkn a**hole. He left the room and came back with the prescribed treatment from the doctor, left it on the bed, said you can administer this to her, and left the room. At this point I was so upset, annoyed, shocked, & worried that I didn't trust any meds given from that nurse to our daughter without us actually seeing the syringe being pulled out of its original medicine container. And we were definitely not going to administer the medicine ourselves. We decided since it was already 4 AM we could wait 4.5 hours for our pediatrician's office to open and get a second opinion. Since it didn't seem too serious and our daughter was doing ok (all things considered), we thought that she could hold off on the fever reducer since we already gave her Tylenol and the antibiotic could be given in a few more hours at her pediatrician's. Thank God we held off on the meds. As soon as our daughter's pediatrician clinic opened we asked to be seen. We told the doctor our experience at St. David's Emergency and he didn't look at all surprised. He told us that we shouldn't take her there again and suggested another place. I told him about her crying after the other doctor checked her ears and then he checked himself and said the other doctor must've cut her because I see a small fresh scratch with blood in her ear. I knew she wasn't hysterically crying for being at the hospital or having a fever - he cut her! He didn't even tell us afterwards. Omg. I was so fkn pissed. In addition, he told us that she didn't have an ear infection and that the antibiotic that was offered wasn't needed. He also checked her rectal temperature and she didn't react the way she did at the ER. They just have no care for babies! If you're in a dire emergency, a life threatening situation, I say MAYBE take your chances here. But if you can drive a few more minutes, please, do not take your babies here. read more

This place is awful. Didn't clean the wound or the foot. Left glass in the wound. Stitch job is crap. Wrapped up the foot dirty. The next morning, without standing at all or putting any weight on the foot, it's still a bloody mess and requires another (different) ER. They gave him nothing for pain and he can't bear weight on the foot at all. No crutches, can't walk. Don't go here. I am filing a complaint. Also, they never even took a medical history, only asked if he was allergic to anything. No medical history and no existing file for them to go off of. read more

Walked in with a broken hand after falling off my bike and waited at the front desk for about 10 minutes, despite them seeing me from the back and another nurse(?) coming out to meet someone else in the waiting room. Finally, a male employee came to the desk and slid a tie-up mask across the desk, and while I was trying to ask if I had to wear that one cause I couldn't tie knots with a broken hand, he interrupted me and yelled that masks were required in that facility. I just told him to have a good one and drove myself to BSW in Cedar Park, where they saw me immediately and were awesome until the end. St. David's in Leander is more of an 'at their convenience, not an emergency center' and I'd recommend anywhere else. Again, BSW in Cedar Park was awesome! read more

DO NOT COME HERE. I took my son in because of a possible concussion & Dr Goodman and his staff of 3 nurses did the literal bare minimum of checks. They had no other patients besides our 3 year old son and yet they left us in the room for over an hour. I had to demand a covid test & they refused to do a blood test on him or CAT-SCAN. The first thing Dr Goodman said was he could have internal bleeding or bruising of his brain but the only thing he did was check his eyes and ears and temp. I also had to request the documents for his results. The most unprofessional hospital I've ever been to. The didn't follow any procedures or protocols. They were too lazy to care about their job which is to save people. I will be filing a report to the hospital as well because of this disgusting & unprofessional behavior from their staff. They need to have their medical licenses revoked immediately. read more

I have to say, St. David ER has been fantastic. I work for UT Austin and could have driven to Dell Children's hospital for my daughter to be seen. However, St. David is four (4) minutes away from my home. The nurses and doctor's are fantastic here. I understand everyone has different experiences, but ours was fantastic. read more

Just got back from the ER with my 12 year old who has a severe ear infection. Absolutely amazing experience from the moment we walked in. I am a medical officer in the Army. This is the kind of experience we strive for in our facilities. With four boys under our roof, we have had countless ER visits over the last 12 years. Today was the best experience. The only improvement would be a 24 hour pharmacy. Amazing job!!! read more

This place is awful. Dr Kendall insults your pain and leaves you leaving out the door in pain and upset because of the way he treats his patients. It's so sad I've seen this dr twice somehow when going to this ER. It was awful both times. He needs to treat people like real human beings and not a number. Taking my bad reviews higher than Yelp. This St David's location is awful. Your are better off going to RR or even CPRMC. read more

We took my son there after a terrible experience with another place. I should have came here first. The front desk woman was attentive, quick, and very professional. A nurse came out, took us back and did all the vitals. We loved the doctor! I wish I remembered his name. He was friendly and great with my 8 month old. I felt comfortable and confident they'd be able to care for my little one. I would definitely go back there and recommend it to friends. read more

Been experiencing really bad sciatic nerve pain for a long period of time. They say hit the ER if your pain is a 10. Well, that is what I did. I arrived hunched over , could not walk and they met me out with a wheelchair. I was put in a room immediately. Saw the dr., told him I had been there before for the same reason about 2 yrs ago. I needed a shot to be able to release pain to be able to walk. He was very adimeant that a taradol shot would help. I told the Dr. As I am screaming and crying like a worm in the dirt, that I need a morphine shot, anti inflammatory shot, and a something for spasms. After a hr of debate and to shut me up , I finally received the shots. It was 30 minutes later they came to collect my money in the room and said you will be able to leave soon. I told them I am not ready to leave , I am still at a 10, no relief. I needed help. The nurse told me I need to go to my primary doctor to get any medication . I am in dire need of help. That is what the hospital is for. I was sent home, no medication at all. The end result is, I had surgery 6 days later with a neurosurgeon.... St. David's sent me a huge bill after the fact that they did nothing for me. 1000.00 for a shot with no compassion, no concerns, give you what you desperately need after a 45 minute beg.. I would not recommend this place if you are in bad shape and need help. I am very disappointed. I will tell everyone I know, skip these people and head over to Cedar park regional that is not far away. I am blown away about a 1000.00 bill for leaving that place the way I walked in. Great job, st. David's. I will never return or sent anyone ever your way. read more

Quick service but awful Doctor. I came in with a variety of blood pressure symptoms accompanied by intense pain, dizziness, pulsing tinnitus, and more that have been getting progressively worse by the day. The doctor had this glazed over look in his eyes when I was explaining my symptoms, like he wasn't even listening. He wasn't the least bit concerned about my symptoms, and didn't even give me an exam of any kind. He ordered blood and urine tests, when those came up negative he accused me of having anxiety. He gave me meds for an apparent UTI as well as anti-nausea meds even though I told him I had no nausea. The nurse even said when I was leaving that my blood pressure was "perfectly fine the whole time".... when I came in it was 150/100. Seriously don't waste your time here. read more

Care was ok.. we received our bill after insurance paid. We made arrangements and began paying. A months later we began getting collection calls. The hospital sent our bills to collections because they decided the amount we agreed to pay wasn't enough. The collections company didn't even understand why it was sent to them. They said we had made all of our payments and the only note was that the hospital decided we weren't paying enough. Then we got another call because the dr sent her bill to collections. We never received her bill and the hospital had told us the only bill we had was from them. Overall, I'd never use them again because they don't sent out notices or all of their bills and don't stay with plans that they agree to. On top of that, the dr didn't even correctly identify the issue. She assumed that I had a migraine because of my headaches, but I had an infection from dental work. Luckily I called my dentist and was able to get it taken care of before it became worse than it already had. read more

Absolutely a wonderful experience, despite the circumstances around the visit. The intake process was very efficient. Nurse Tamara (I think that's her name) was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. Dr. Ruggero provided a preliminary visit before anything was known. Once they had a diagnosis, Dr. Ruggero provided the update. Throughout the process, all staff were attentive and responded well to all questions/comments/concerns. Although mentioned already, Nurse Tamara and Dr. Ruggero were amazing and their professionalism was impeccable. We appreciate all the staff that took care of us. This is the 4th time we have been here and the experience just keeps getting worse.last night they diagnosed my wife with cellulitis( an infection of the skin) when we told thEm she can only do liquid antibiotics they gave her a prescription for the capsules. When she called up there to see if the prescription could be changed (she had opened the capsule and put it in applesauce as instructed and Began to vomit. They Treated her like she knew absolutely nothing and told her to just opEn the capsule and put it in liquid. We were also told that if the infection was to start spreading through the body to call back/ come back to the emergency room because it could be fatal if it reached the heart...***fast-forward to tonight she had called to inform them it has spread from legs to her arms and face. My wife had called today (2/8/2020 @6:30pm and didn't receive a call until after aN hour later and I think her name was TaSha was rude and arrogant toward my wife when this is a medical emergencies that they told us to call in. This place is a f$&@ing joke and will never be going here again.... Their doctors are alwAys out of network and charge you hundreds out of pocket with out sending you a bill anD making it go to collections.i would love for a representative of St DavidS to reach out to us. They are ggoing to end up killing someone due to there arrogant ass chip on their shoulders. They clearly oNly caRe about a pay check and not the patients. We came in last week for what ended up being a fractured finger. The moment we walked in the door, we had people beside us. While I was working with the insanely friendly lady at the front desk, she was letting the RN behind her know what the issue was, what hand, etc. The nurses swooped in and took my kid back to a room to get vitals before I could even grab my stuff and walk with them. There was no wait. Granted, this might not be the case all the time, but it was the case on a Wednesday night at 7:15. The two nurses we had were great, and made us feel comfortable and struck up a conversation. I'm really sorry, guys. I didn't get y'all's names! Dr. Schaff came in a few minutes later, said what he thought was the issue, then xray came in, Dr. Schaff came back, showed us xrays, had the nurse splint her and we were done. IN LESS THAN AN HOUR! I want to say this is our go to emergency place now, but I don't want to jinx us for more emergencies. They're connected to St. David's in Round Rock (Round Rock Medical Center), if you're looking to see if they're in network with insurance. read more
