Clean walls in clinic rooms not over cluttered with info

To start- this review is for the non-urgent care practice next door. I have always been appreciative of the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff, plus the non-judge mental attitude of the Doctors and their staff. Whatever your issue is, they are here to help. Whenever possible I see with of the Dr. Bowlin as they have consistently for YEARS been proactive with my family's health concerns in a way that makes me feel they are primary care team-mates, not simply service providers. I am always seen promptly and never have crazy long waiting times unless I had to go to the urgent care for some reason. Nor do I ever feel rushed, like I am just one patient in a line of patients that need to be plowed through.

Web site says they close 8pm and I arrive 7:30pm and they says can not see a doctor because they already close. What a joke

The staff even though they are short handed (You notice because there's only 2 employees that welcome you and they do the blood work as well) are very welcoming, kind and friendly. One of the times I went was because my wife needed some blood work, she is VERY afraid of needles, specially when it comes to blood work since she cant stand the sight of blood so when I was signing us in I informed the lady on front about it and they let me come in with her, hold her hand and stay with her, the employee talked to my wife about random things while doing the blood work to make my wife think about other things instead of the needle in the arm, which helped her a lot. They where very thoughtful. Today I went in and there was a 3rd employee which ended up being a student... They asked me if I wouldn't mind if she was there and if she could do the blood work, which I agreed to and she did a great job! She was very sweet, seemed a little nervous and shaky but who isn't when starting right?! We even had a little conversation about Star Wars thanks to my cap LOL. If you live around the area and need some Lab work, this is the place to go.

My issues are with the lack of seating inside this location. EVERY patient that was waiting sat at least 1 chair apart. So I wasn't able to sit next to my daughter who we found out had strep. Nobody got up to move or anything. There's no tv, radio, etc... as you wait. So it was very awkward. My main issue is that there are SEVERAL options for my sexual orientation, then there are SEVERAL more options for my pronouns. But for my biracial daughters race I only got to pick 1 option. I told the receptionist that she's black and white. I was told to pick Black since that's what she relates to the most... BUT IT'S NOT. She's being raised by her white mother.. can I get some credit there? If St. E's trying to be so "up with the times". Then why are they still so behind?

I had to request glu strep covid test even though i went in with complaints of ssore throat and cough and drainage. They all came back negatinve so when symptoms persisted i went to urgent care. Stavy was very thourough and retested me and it came back positive for strep i have now had first dose and low grade fever broke. throat much improved. Someone who listened to her patient and went ahead and retested has definately impressed me over st e hospital. Should have gone there first. When they finally finished I was looked at and had xrays done and was told that by the end of the day or early the next I would have results. It took over 3 and a half days before I was finally told it wasn't broken but by that point I had figured it out. They then proceeded to charge me 150 for a worthless foot brace and when I called the number provided to ask questions about my bill I was met with a voice message saying to leave my number and they would call me back. They never did call me back and just sent the bill in the mail again. Its impossible to pay the bill online and I will not send my credit card through the mail. overall 0/10 experience and I recommend you to deal with whatever is bothering you on your own rather than this "urgent care" making the problem somehow more painful. I should have waited and went to ortho cinci when the opened the next day.

I cant tell you how many times ive had the unfortunate luck to be admitted to St E (Florence and…read moreEdgewood) 3 years ago I went in to the ER with an extremely swollen belly, they checked my medical history and I had no previous health conditions. No labs, no imaging they just sent me home with laxatives telling me it was just constipation (even though I was having no issues going) I went in a month later still swollen and in pain, again "just constipation" 3 weeks later I came in vomitting blood, they finally did actual medical work and I had a hgb of 4.3, ended up in ICU. 15lbs of fluid drained from my stomach, 7 blood transfusions, 17 bleeding varices banded in my esophagus. Turns out that constipation was end stage cirrhosis caused by autoimmune diseases. I almost died. Ive been admitted here several times since and everytime is a nightmare (im not going by choice, its just distance) I ended up with Steven's Johnson syndrome painful blisters all over my body and I asked for pain relief (one time and calmly) the dr came in and said "your pain isn't my problem" I was waiting to be transferred to icu. Another visit for a GI bleed and uncontrollably vomitting and intense pain. I again asked politely and one time for pain relief. The dr opened my door, stood in the door way and YELLED at me "im not giving you narcotics!!!" Accused me of drug seeking even though he seemed to be the one out on control and unhinged. Another visit a nurse yelled at me and slammed her hand on the desk bc I asked for promethazine instead of zofran bc the zofran wasn't working. It was ordered for me, she just didnt want to have to dilute it. I was never a drinker and ive never done drugs. Im merely trying to survive this horrible disease while waiting on a transplant. The drs and nurses here are incompetent, violent and reckless. They dont care. If you are a health care worker you should be aware of the fact that you are caring for patients who are going through the scariest times of their lives. I now have medical ptsd. As long as I am stable enough to go further I will never, never willingly go to any st. Elizabeth hospital again. Do not send your loved ones here, I cant say Cincinnati is tons better but it sure beats St. Hellizabeth.
