Urgent Care visit billed at E.R. Visit.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! $1232 bill for 30 min visit. They are supposed to be an urgent care but will bill you as an Emergency Room visit. I received a bill for $298 for the visit and for seeing the doctor (which I never saw). I met with a nurse practitioner and took an x-ray of my foot. I was in and out less than 30 minutes. Then I received a bill, which I attached below, in addition to the $298 bill for the X-Ray which is understandable because it's additional service but there is a $502 charge for the Emergency Room (total bill $934). When I called the clinic to clarify they made it clear they are not the emergency room and that they are an urgent care separate and across the street. I called billing and they lady keeps telling me I was billed this way because they are affiliated with the emergency room so I get billed as such. That is Criminal!!! I specifically asked before being seen if this was billed as an urgent care or an emergency room and she said urgent care. I called billing back again and a different lady is telling me my bill is correct and it was billed as an urgency care but you can clearly see in my picture it says "emergency room." I kept telling her on my bill right before my eyes it says "emergency room" and nowhere does it says "urgent care." I was already charged for the doctor and "sitting fee" for the urgent care on a separate bill and now they are wanting me to pay for an emergency room visit as well! How is this place in business?! How many people have they robbed like this? This is absolutely terrible they advertise as an urgent care but bill as an emergency room and lie to you about it! The cherry on top is they misdiagnosed me. They saw nothing on my X-ray and when my foot continued to hurt I went to another place and it was clear as day (they showed me my X-ray) my foot was broke in two different places. I hope this review will save someone else's time and money. Go to a normal take care clinic or urgent care that is stand alone. DO NOT GO HERE! Since they are affiliated with the hospital it gives them a reason to charge incorrectly and get away with it. It's so sad. I don't know how these people lay their head down at night especially seeing all the reviews below about this same exact issue. My mistake was not reading the reviews before walking in the door.

Just a photo of me so ya'll know this is real!

Wonderful caring staff. Doctors are attentive and professional. Nurses are outstanding. We are lucky to have the hospital in our area.

I came here for my first surgery with Dr. Lerner who is HSHS board certified and hand specialist…read moresurgeon. Everything went great. I had plenty of supportive nursing staff and anesthesia staff. Everybody was kind and accommodating. The check-in status was smooth. The guy that checked me in was very friendly and funny for outpatient services. You park in the main entrance area unless you have somebody driving you and you'll check in at the gray outpatient building parking. There was plenty as we were there at 5:30 AM. My surgery started at eight so bear in mind as far as surgery times we're also known as arrival times that will depend on parking as well as any additional waiting time for the check-in process.

An example of this, was their failure to give breathing treatments due to patient not being able to hold the nebulizer to his mouth. We had to tell them that they make masks for that, then he got the treatment for this hospital acquired pneumonia. They also would not turn him. By the time he was discharaged, he had 7 decubitus/open sores on his buttock, and one was necrotic. Our family was not informed of all these open sores. No physical therapy either, they said they didn't have the staff for that care. We won't ever take any of our family there again.

Very dangerous as they are not equipped to handle the many variables that come with cardiovascular disease. Women and diabetics of both sexes present with atypical symptoms and often have normal looking ecgs. A mid level is not going to catch unstable or stable angina in most of those cases. They gave me a GI cocktail. Well, it has phenobarbital mixed with lidocaine and Pepcid. lol I guess they thought it was aNxIetY since I am female. I have a pretty high calcium score. And it is on the LAD. Thankful for a good pcp who sent me for stress testing and labs etc. We will handle it. I know not to ever take family to this hospital for anything other than a hang nail.

I absolutely have the outmost approval and respect for the nursing and doctor staff at Anderson…read more They are terrific! However I don't understand the new expensive modification to the Walk-in ER and the ER staff. First of all, the new entrance to the ER is so bad, someone could die before getting front the parking lot to the check-in desk that had nobody there to check in for over 10 minutes. Secondly my wife was taken to the ER by ambulance and I went in to check how she was going and I asked if I could see a nurse for status and an hour later I still hadn't heard. I simply left. I would have recommended this ER and Hospital to everyone 3, 2 or a year ago, but am thinking it has really, really gone done hill over the past year.

My wife Tiffany was a patient at The Rehabilitation Institute of Southern Illinois for 10 days in…read more2026. Unfortunately, her stay was marked by disappointment and several eye-opening incidents. Upon admission, I was concerned that no transportation was provided, forcing me to transport my non-mobile wife myself from the hospital to The Rehabilitation Institute of Southern Illinois. We then experienced a significant delay in receiving assistance upon arrival at the facility, and I ultimately had to move my wife to her room myself to prevent exposure to freezing temperatures. The initial room assignment was also problematic, as a visibly and verbally upset individual appeared outside our room, disputing the placement of a bed. The head nurse intervened and resolved the issue. I was also alarmed to discover that it took 7 minutes and 22 seconds to receive assistance after pressing the call light. I immediately expressed my concerns to the nurse and negotiated an agreement to place a seizure rescue inhaler next to my wife's bed as a precautionary measure. I emphasized to the head nurse that patients with epilepsy are unlikely to self-administer medication during the initial phases of a seizure. The staff seemed uninformed about treating patients with epilepsy, citing a targeted response time of 5 minutes after a patient presses their call light. However, this is inadequate, as a seizure typically lasts between 30 seconds and 2 minutes, and a seizure lasting 5 minutes is considered a medical emergency. I was so concerned that I sent a letter to the CEO, highlighting the need for improved protocols, including the installation of video cameras in patient rooms to enable visual checks. I also suggested that the current response time is inadequate and potentially life-threatening. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response. Furthermore, the nurses' aids we encountered during Tiffany's stay were unprofessional and inexperienced. For example, when my wife requested to be moved to her chair to eat the morning meal, she was told 'no' in a flat and direct manner, and the aid promptly left the room, shutting the door forcably behind her. This behavior frightened my wife, who sent me the following desperate text: Please hurry please please! I cannot believe how I was just treated! I'm afraid PLEASE hurry Babe! When I arrived at the facility, the head nurse informed me that my wife was lying, as the aid denied the incident. The matter was essentially dismissed, with the only consequence being that the aid would not visit my wife's room again during her stay. In conclusion, while the facility is relatively new and in good condition, the staff seems divided, resulting in poor service. For instance, the facility did not have access to the seizure medications my wife was taking, forcing me to bring in the missing medications, which was a nightmare to get approved. True leadership is needed to address these issues, and if not addressed promptly, I fear that we may be reading about a tragedy instead of a remarkable recovery story.
