No urgency whatsoever, just run a few tests to get you in and out. The follow up for a 14 day event monitor from cardiology has now exceeded a month. I've been at least 5 times and I will never go here for anything, again. St. Elizabeth is one exit away and if I was dying I would ask them to take the extra few minutes to get me there.

The staff ran multiple tests to cover all possible problems and treated me as if I was their most important case. They became busier as other patients arrived but kept me in the loop and gave me the priority required. The nurses kept my wife and me well informed and taken care of. We ended up spending the night and having a surgical procedure the next morning. After receiving excellent care we ordered from a menu and ate a tasty meal before being discharged. Ok, tasty for hospital food, anyway it was appreciated and appropriate for the circumstances. We love the care received!

I was quickly triaged and sent to wait. I asked for a wheelchair they brought my one. it was the most uncomfortable chair I think I've sat on. it was hard plastic, slick and cold. First, they didn't understand the type of pain I was experiencing. Second, i had to wait 7 to 8 in so much pain that morphine didn't help, and they did nothing to help ease my pain caused by acid reflux and a hiatal hernia. They were not friendly. They did little to nothing to comfort me. I waited in misery so long the episode was passing. So I had them remove my IV and I walked out. This was my worst experience ever at a ER. I will never go back again. I recommend staying away from them. Choose another hospital if you ever need the ER. Unless you don't mind waiting 8 or more hours, with unfriendly staff.

Upon admission, I was concerned that no transportation was provided, forcing me to transport my non-mobile wife myself from the hospital to The Rehabilitation Institute of Southern Illinois. We then experienced a significant delay in receiving assistance upon arrival at the facility, and I ultimately had to move my wife to her room myself to prevent exposure to freezing temperatures. The initial room assignment was also problematic, as a visibly and verbally upset individual appeared outside our room, disputing the placement of a bed. The head nurse intervened and resolved the issue. I was also alarmed to discover that it took 7 minutes and 22 seconds to receive assistance after pressing the call light. I immediately expressed my concerns to the nurse and negotiated an agreement to place a seizure rescue inhaler next to my wife's bed as a precautionary measure. I emphasized to the head nurse that patients with epilepsy are unlikely to self-administer medication during the initial phases of a seizure. The staff seemed uninformed about treating patients with epilepsy, citing a targeted response time of 5 minutes after a patient presses their call light. However, this is inadequate, as a seizure typically lasts between 30 seconds and 2 minutes, and a seizure lasting 5 minutes is considered a medical emergency. I was so concerned that I sent a letter to the CEO, highlighting the need for improved protocols, including the installation of video cameras in patient rooms to enable visual checks. I also suggested that the current response time is inadequate and potentially life-threatening. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response. Furthermore, the nurses' aids we encountered during Tiffany's stay were unprofessional and inexperienced. For example, when my wife requested to be moved to her chair to eat the morning meal, she was told 'no' in a flat and direct manner, and the aid promptly left the room, shutting the door forcably behind her. This behavior frightened my wife, who sent me the following desperate text: Please hurry please please! I cannot believe how I was just treated! I'm afraid PLEASE hurry Babe! When I arrived at the facility, the head nurse informed me that my wife was lying, as the aid denied the incident. The matter was essentially dismissed, with the only consequence being that the aid would not visit my wife's room again during her stay. In conclusion, while the facility is relatively new and in good condition, the staff seems divided, resulting in poor service. For instance, the facility did not have access to the seizure medications my wife was taking, forcing me to bring in the missing medications, which was a nightmare to get approved. True leadership is needed to address these issues, and if not addressed promptly, I fear that we may be reading about a tragedy instead of a remarkable recovery story.

You review the labs with the provider on week two. Fine. A salesperson then comes in immediately after the provider leaves, and attempts to sell you a subscription into their $1,000/year club, which essentially gives you the privilege of getting your meds filled at your own pharmacy. The alternative is to pay jacked-up prices and buy your meds from the clinic. It's completely unethical to withhold pricing structure information like this to new patients , and ONLY revealing the final cost after they are already on the hook for $200 in labs and $100 clinic fees. It makes me wonder what other information they are withholding. I can't do business with a place like this.
