Hospice is not for the faint of heart! My mother recently passed away at AdventHealth Hospice, and…read morealthough there were a few missteps in the beginning, and after many chats with her care team we came to terms and understood how it works. The care teams are 100% patient oriented, and the support teams are wonderful, too. Everyone as a whole genuinely cared about my mother, my family and I. Although AdventHealth is a faith based institution they accommodated my mother's jewish faith. My only issue was with an individual on the medical team who took it upon themselves to "preach" to us which we found very uncomfortable!

Hospice patients are put in the oldest building on the campus directly next and under the helicopter flight path and landing area. Next to ambulance parking and loading docks. Noise non stop. Our "finest" room had one sofa to sleep on. I had to fight w charge nurse to move chairs to create a place to sleep next to my husband. No cleaning in room for six days. Inadequate saftey in bathroom and a communal shower! Total bio hazard! Save that one nurse the staff was wonderful, doctor caring but when I raised hell about the facility I was told improvements would be made but they would not be moving patients to any of their new construction or newly acquired buildings. They simply DO NOT CARE about dying patients. Its been a month since I requested from the hospice manager to be contacted by his direct boss. Nothing. My husband's remark when transfered " I worked hard all my life to die in a dump" My family is forever scarred by this place.

He took us an alternate way so we could make it to the pier on time. He had me text Les to arrange transportation back to Ft. Lauderdale after our cruise. I text Les my name, date and time to be picked up. His response was "OK". The morning we arrived back, I text Les at 6:08 to remind him we would need transportation back (no cell service on the ocean). His response was, "I am bringing another party at 1000, so I will pick your family up at 1045." Our earlier arrangements were to be picked up at 8:00 so we could make appts at 9:30. Les would not budge or offer any other options other than to wait for him, b/c we wouldn't be able to get off the ship any sooner anyway. We disembarked our ship at 715, took a taxi that was waiting, and made it back to our hotel at 8:00, no thanks to Les. It cost us approx, $5 more to take a waiting taxi. The service to the pier was great, but don't expect to be picked up anytime soon for the return trip.

My dear friend Bonetta Davis, worked for Tranquility Haven run by Linda Cole for 1 week and it was…read morethe worse mistake she ever made. Ms Cole omes off as a christian type person but that is not her true character. She begged her to come to work for her even though was clearly told that Cocoa was too far but she kept calling back with ideas until she finally offered her a 4 day shift 12 hrs each and that she could stay at the facility during her shifts. Perfect...we thought. Well after the first shift she was so exhausted that she was about ready to quit. She had 3 clients with dementia of some type and was left there to care for them all ALONE the entire time! She had to cook, clean the kitchen which included polishing all appliances, mop all floors twice each day, take out trash, pass out meds, give baths and clean up feces and urine soaked clients who refused to use the toilet. Linda told her she would be able to sleep at night but that was a lie because no one else came in for night duty and she knew those clients would be up and down all night . My poor friend came home and went to bed and slept the entire day and that night! I don't believe that girl who relieved her stayed either. She was going to her car as we left. They ask to much or $8.50 an hour. Then to top it all off, Linda Cole informed my friend after her very first shift that she would be reporting at 6:45 a.m for duty for all future shifts and, that on June 1, she would no longer be able to stay at the facility for her shifts. Well! that was the only reason she finally accepted her offer now wasn't it? I, as her rider, was not getting up at 5:30 to get anyone to work by 6:45 but at this point, Ms. Cole didn't seem to care and insulted me when I tried calling her with another possible shift time or plan. Ok, so now, to top it all off, she won't even pay her! The auto deposit should have hit today but she is mad because she offered to and paid for my friends CNA training; which my friend already had but just not in this state and Linda Cole wasn't smart enough to just have her to challenge the state and test out for her license. Instead I guess she figured she owned Bonita and could demand anything of her. Anyway, if you want to be worked like a slave and still can qualify for food stamps then Linda Coles at Tranquiloty Haven (hell) is the place to apply lol. Currently, Ms Cole is not taking our calls and blocking the numbers. Nice christian ways eh? Looks like we'll be heading to small claims court now soon. But, I will also be alerting all watchdog agencies to her operations lack of help and how she works the few she has at the newest facility on Vancouver ave in Cocoa. I wouldn't want my loved ones entrusted to her care. She gets NO STARS, I just can't get to one to go away that you might see.
