Do not let this clinic tell you that the 3 month dose of Bravecto is 'harmless' for your dog!! They no longer carry the once a month pill and convinced me that the 3-month Bravecto is 100% safe, it will not be harmful to my elderly dog and she died 3 weeks later!! My dog has never been sick her entire life and after taking Bravecto, my sweet dog was immediately sick, throwing up and never got better. She suffered for 3 weeks while her liver and kidneys shut down and than died in my arms. This drug has a class action lawsuit and almost got pulled off of the market!! Other Vet Clinics wont even carry it. This clinic is all about profit with zero compassion. Don't say you weren't warned to stay away from this clinic!! read more

I went to this office to get my sweet 1 year old cat Liz a routine checkup because she was throwing up occasionally. When Dr. Burke came into the office she felt around and examined her. Within minutes, Dr. Burke said she would NEED a surgery to open her up immediately or she would die. My young daughter was with me and started sobbing. I was in shock. Dr. Burke said with certainty there was a toy stuck inside of her that needed to be removed. I cried my eyes out and paid the $750!!! for the surgery. When I got Liz back she couldn't move on her own for days, they had cut her open. Then they proceeded to tell me the surgery was exploratory, just a test and there was NOTHING inside of her stomach. She was completely fine. I could not believe it. If I had known it wasn't necessary I would've never done it! I had to nurse her back to health from a useless surgery. To see her sweet eyes glazed over and in pain was torture. We found out later that ALL WE NEEDED TO DO WAS CHANGE HER FOOD!!! I was so upset and asked to talk to the doctor and she REFUSED to see me. Which that in itself told me she knew she did something wrong. None of the other staff were helpful or considerate and instead I received a phone call from Dr. Randall who happened to be the owner at the time, he proceeded to YELL at and tell me "this is just the way it is." I am heartbroken. You never expect to go to a doctor or a vet and be LIED to that your precious pet will die and be scammed out of money. I thank God she is still living. This place is a sham that traumatized our family! We want to never relive this horrible time in our lives. DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

The groomer has consistently been a 3/10 at best. still continued using their services bc I felt our dogs were safer at our vet clinic, and that is most important to us. Customer service has gone down the drain over the 4 years we have seen them. But the last straw was them holding our dogs hostage overnight! Dropped off at 7:45 am for their appt. Received ONE message at 5:00 that they were finished. Called them at 5:23 to tell them we were OTW and hurrying. "You have 6 minutes to get here" was the only communication offered. No mention of what would happen if I didn't make it there and nothing offered to ease my mind that the accommodations would be suitable for my pets. (Who have never been kenneled in their lives) I pulled up at 5:32 and two employees were just getting into their vehicle and HURRIED to leave as I parked. They unapologetically kept my dogs in a cage for 14 hours unattended/no one walking or checking on them. Would've happily paid the boarding fee as an inconvenience fee for my two minute late arrival to take my fur-babies home. Have had several people in the animal medical industry reach out and assure me this is NOT acceptable practice. I expect more from a business that claims they provide compassionate care for our family members. read more

I am a broke college kid with a cat, so obviously I need a vet. St. Francis has good reasonable prices and an AMAZING and caring team. They all love my cat and some of the nurses even remembered me after one or two visits. They are very professional and accommodating. read more

If I could give this place 1000 stars I would! Petsmart Banfield Experience Friday March 1, 2019 I found a mass on my 13 year old Boxers abdomen, I took her in see Dr. Laura Sarradet on Saturday, March 2 (the next day) at Petsmart Banfield, 5700 Johnston St. Lafayette, La. (337) 984-1668 Hospital Number: 0638. She was a drop off, later when I picked her up, the Dr. Said that when she felt the mass she said to her assistant "Oh my god, Oh my god, Oh my god, what is this". They did an aspiration, Blood work and X-rays on her and sent her home with a pain med and antibiotic, bc they "thought" she may have infection". They had told me it takes up to 48 hours for results and because it was Saturday I understood that they would not be back until Monday. No one called to check on her on Sunday on Monday by 10 am I hadn't heard anything so I called and spoke with Laura, the office manager. She had told me No way did they tell me that it would take 48 hours because it takes 3 - 5 days. (They told me 48 hours). I had told her that my baby had a horrible weekend and was in allot of pain... is there something I can do to help her, she just kept putting me on hold and finally I spoke with Dr. Breann Morse On call that day and she had told me that all we can do is wait on results. I called a 2nd opinion, St.Francis In Lafayette, got her right in and the very second Dr. Emily Burke felt her, she immediately compassionately said, with tears in her eyes "this baby has Cancer", gave me my options, letting me know that I would be lucky to have her by the end of the week. She gave me pain meds, vomiting meds and something to hopefully shrink the mass while she was still with us. With me making the decision of "Waiting on results"..... I'm calling Banfield daily, they never once even still today, Monday, March 11, have not called to see how she was doing. Every time I called last week the Manager, Laura and Dr. Breann would just tell me, they can not call the Lab, the only thing they can do is wait on an email of results, later that day told me that Dr.Breann talked to the Lab on Tuesday, but no one had the common courtesy to call to inform me of anything. Finally, with my baby getting worse by the second..... I called the Lab myself and they told me they "COULD" give the Vet the results over the phone, that all they needed to do was call and ask for them. Dr.Sarradet came back to work Thursday or Friday and still never called to check. Low and behold, within the hour, Dr. Breann called me with results that they had no answers, that it CLEARLY WAS NOT CANCER, and gave me options of surgery, she also told me that she is not the Dr. I had been talking to. (Mind you there are only 2 Vets there and Dr.Sarradet was off) Still in contact with Dr.Burke, as she is constantly reassuring me that this is Cancer and giving me all of the options on what to do and or how to keep her comfortable the best I could... she took a turn for the worse on Friday March 8. I took her to Dr.Burke and we had to make that very hard decision that we all regret as furr baby owners. Dr.Burke and her staff were all so compassionate about the whole situation. Remember, I mentioned... "Banfield still has not called". I called this morning to get the Doctors that saw her and dealt with the situation and spoke with Laura, the manager, she asked how Jessie, my Baby was doing, I jut said, we had to put her down Friday, she said "Oh, ok". I hope Furr baby lovers read this and DO NOT wasted their time with this place as they are clearly only in it as a "job". read more

I can't even give this place a "1". I called at least a day or more to make plans to board my dog and cat for 2 nights. I was excited to find a reasonable place. I would be doing plenty business with. I drove in from Ft Worrh, Texas. I had to stop at midnight. My old body couldn't go anymore. I got back on the road from Shreveport. 2/1-2 hours trip. I let them know gos said 11:35. Then I had to find a gas station. My RR tire was low. I called them that now my gpa said 12:03. The child that answered the phone WOULD NOT TAKE MY ANIMALS FOR 3 minutes. I will find who I can report this to. A girl and boy looked at me and smiled as they passed right by me. the new young doctor, starts with an R. don't even care to know it nor does he deserve the respect of anyone knowing his name. my dog has severe allergies and was seen by the older doctor who has since retired. this was her first day seeing the new younger vet and he didn't even care to take her temperature when she clearly had some sort of infection going on. who doesn't take a temperature? he then sent her home with eye drops and said she was fine. we noticed as the day went on that she was getting more lethargic and her eye was getting more swollen and pus filled by the minutes. my mom panicked and called the vet back and the receptionist passed the phone to the doctor. the doctor then stated she was fine and to "send him pictures". he asked my mom multiple times "what do you want me to do?" and my mom responded with "please just listen and care about my dog." this went on for a couple of minutes and he said again what do you want me to do. my mom then said please i just want you to care about my dog." to this he responded with and i quote "fuck off" and hung up on her. we tried calling multiple times and no one had an answer or would give us him to talk to. the general manager then called back later and said "i'm guessing you'll want her files sent back then." and that is all she had to say. how disgusting to not hold them to a higher standard. my dog has since been admitted to an animal hospital and will possibly have to have her eye removed. how do you get paid to be bad at your job. would not recommend to anyone ever again. grow up dr raicevic. read more

St. Francis is only in business because they overcharge their clients. For the past two years I have slowly realized this and I cannot believe it went on this long. I'd like to highlight some of their impeccable work for you now: 1) The brunette, younger, heavier front desk girl is ALWAYS rude. She contradicted things I knew to be fact. After 2 years of hands on experience at a no-kill shelter, I knew the bordatella vaccine does not need to be given to an adult dog twice a year. If that dog does not frequent dog parks or boarding facilities, it is only necessary annually. This girl constantly tried to "correct" me on things like this and the best part is that she's not even a vet tech. She's their front desk person. I have a photo of her from Facebook. 2) On top of being over vaccinated for bordatella, my dog was subjected to "semi-annual" fecal tests and physical exams. Again, an adult dog doesn't need this. AND they were not performing adequate exams. No ear checks with an otoscope, no checking her teeth, no checking mobility. I paid for them to listen to her heartbeat every six months. 3) I only saw a doctor TWICE in two years and they were different doctors. No consistency with tech staff either. Always different people saying different things. 4) When I brought my newly adopted dog to them to get her in the system, I handed them a folder with all of her recorded vaccines up to that point. They took it from me, and a few minutes later, gave it back. Each time I received reminders for my older dog, I wondered when I would get a call about the puppy. I could have sworn I had brought her in for something but I couldn't quite recall. It wasn't until I decided to switch vets recently, that St. Francis NEVER put any of my puppy's vaccines from the shelter into their system. The chart they sent my new vet had nothing but her spay and me purchasing heartgard. So, all that detailed information they took from me never made it to their computers. How, in the hell could they not think that they should inquire about this other dog they have that hasn't been in to see the vet in over a year?! But the other dog is going every six months?! The front desk people seriously worry me. They are responsible for so much and I was supposed to trust them with my dogs' care and records and they just don't THINK. Now, I'm playing catch up with my other dog and even though she is clearly very healthy in spite of being past due for some vaccines, I am still enraged that I am once again, having to clean up after incompetent people. I am available for a phone call if anyone thinks my experience was fabricated. I have so many people to back up all of these claims. I am a real person. I live in Lafayette and I am not the average pet owner. I know more. St. Francis thought I didn't. Now, they know better. read more
