This place saved my life! I had to start treatments here in the fall of 2023 for a medical…read morecondition because oral meds weren't working as fast as the doctor wanted it to. Luckily, I had a really exceptional doctor and their office found a location for me to receive infusion late in the afternoon or even on Saturday to accommodate my work schedule. This location was the closest to me when headed home after treatments, which I wanted to ensure wasn't too bad of a trek because I was told that soemtimes after treatment, you get tired. Most of the coordination of care and services were handled between the doctor's office and Paragon as well as the insurance company to see how much I would be out of pocket to get the services. Once that was identified, Paragon reached out to me about what to expect out of pocket. Although it was well below the 5 fugure amount the insurance was paying, my out of pocket was still astronomical. However, I was informed of a copay program that's available for my medication that could get the amount down to an even reasonable cost- as low as $5. I immediately filled out the forms to get that assistance and no lies told, I had an even lower copay. At the most I paid close to $100 one particular session, but I choose the best insurance plan on my job with a low deductible but high premium, which I met easily and paid minimal to nothing towards the end of the year. In any case, if you have any questions about coverage they have a special extension and department to handle that. As far as the experience in office, the people are so friendly! From check in to your time in the chair, you are treated so compassionaltely. They ask you if you want a blanket, snacks, something to drink while you're receiving treatment, they got you! The chairs are comfy and recline for even more comfort. Only issue is when other people do not adhere to the disclaimer to silence their phones. I understand people want to pass the time while theyre there, but many talk so loud....I try to bring my headphones to block out most of the noise but it still doesnt help for some people. In any case, I am fortunate that my treatment is only 30 minutes and I don't have to deal with the loud talkers too long. Before I leave, I use the restroom, which is always clean and wheel chair accesible with plenty of space. The snack bar is accesible as well with bevs and a variety of snacks. I don't usually have a snack or beverage when I get the treatment, but I pick up something on my way home- usually are Cheez itz and a few packs of Biscotti cookies. Although no one would want to choose to come for treatment, Paragon makes this a pleasant experience as possible.

Our daughter is currently working here, which gave us a chance to spend some time in the area and see just how massive this medical district really is. The area is beautifully maintained and enormous, with world-class hospitals, research institutions, and medical schools all concentrated in one place. I jokingly call it "the Las Vegas of hospitals" -- the scale, energy, and constant activity are remarkable. Overall, an incredible medical hub and something quite impressive to see firsthand. Parking is one of the main things that should be addressed for a large volume center. Whether you are part of the large workforce in the many hospitals or a patient visiting the clinic or ER, parking should be easy. Some of garages are designed badly (two way traffic in narrow lanes and lots of blind spots). It can routinely take more than 10 minutes just to park in a garage, on top of travel time in Houston. As part of the business, parking seems to be a large source of income. I have gone to several locations in TMC, and the cost of parking is $$. Some garages charge $5-10 for the first hour, but I never have been in and out within an hour. Most garages are $10-20 for an average, single appointment. If you have lots of appointments, just parking alone gets expensive quickly. In addition, public transportation in Houston is not a good option. While the cost of a bus ride is much more affordable, the time you need to spend looking up routes and the time spent waiting and getting the bus can be easily 2-3 hours, if you aren't already inside the inner loop of Houston. Since TMC is a large campus, you would think that there might a regular bus loop for the different parking garages and hospitals and other buildings. However, since there are several different, large healthcare groups, each of the groups only provides transportation services to their own group of buildings. Privileges for a student or staff for UT Houston and Baylor College of Medicine are completely separate.

Run run run! This was the absolute WORST Dr. experience I…read morehave had. I came to see Dr. Perez as a new patient at this location. Unfortunately my insurance was no longer taken at my previous doctor so I found this doctor online and thought it would be a good transition. Her reviews were not stellar but it seemed like she would be understanding of me. Boy was I wrong! I'm in a transitional phase of my life and having the right primary care is extremely important and a good doctor is what I was looking for in Dr Perez. Her bedside manner was absolutely disgusting. When she walked in she had an attitude and immediately told me that she would not be refilling my prescriptions (I had previously discussed with her medical assistant prior to the doctor coming in) that I have been taking for eight years that were prescribed to me. As a new patient I needed refills and blood work. When I asked why she was not able to refill my prescriptions she basically said that she didn't want to and that they were controlled substances and basically labeled me for some type of pill abusing patient. I normally wouldn't be sharing information like this but I hope it helps someone make a decision on coming to this practice or not. Definitely do not come here. this doctor should not be allowed to practice. The medications I was prescribed I have been on for multiple years and I genuinely am a normal person that just wanted my medications refilled so I could go on about my life. I am absolutely mortified by my experience at this location and dealing with this woman. I wasted my entire afternoon and was so devastated after this appointment I really wish doctors would be more careful on how they treat people because they can truly make or break someone's day / life. I feel like the doctor did not care about me and put me in danger by her words and actions on this visit. Her hair and attitude was a mess, she was extremely sloppy extremely rude and unprofessional. She clearly does not take care of herself, I would not trust anyone that comes across like this woman Dr Perez as a medical professional to take care of me. I don't recommend her to anyone! I was not well tended to by this physician. She asked irrelevant questions regarding my health. The actual location has good parking and it's clean. Unfortunately Dr. Perez is the only doctor at this location and I really think the company should hire a different doctor that is able to hopefully be a little bit more educated on how to handle new patients and take care of people that actually walk in the door that genuinely need help. Awful awful experience from this doctor! She should be fired! I hope nobody else has an experience like I did. I also hope she reads this so she can understand that she could be affecting people very negative if she doesn't change her approach and her job as a medical provider is to care for people.
