I had never had anything from St. Hubert in my life. Growing up, there was a store in Scarborough that my family would drive by, but we never went there. These days, you can only get St. Hubert in the frozen food section in the GTA. As luck would have it, I came across this St. Hubert location driving to my hotel to check in. I made a mental note and came here for dinner on my first full day in Ottawa. I parked. There was lots of parking. This location also has a drive-thru. I walked in. As an express eatery, I saw lots of trays with napkins, cutlery, and beverage cups all arranged on multiple trays on the counter. I liked that this place was so organized. It felt like an assembly line! I find that a hot chicken sandwich to be my comfort food at any rotisserie joint. I ordered it here. You have a choice between the original (vinegar) or creamy coleslaw. I went with the former. It also comes with a fountain drink. I paid using a credit card. I got a cup and went to use the fancy beverage machine to dispense some Diet Coke. There was a huge sign that said that you can't do refills. I wasn't thinking of doing that, but I suppose that folks have abused the pop system. As soon as I chose a table to sit down and also put my drink on the table, my meal was ready. I like this express thing! I thanked the woman who gave me my tray of food. I walked back to my table to chow down. My chicken sandwich was delicious. I liked the huge chunks of meat, both white and dark. The gravy was yummy. The original coleslaw was light and crunchy. I don't like highly vinegary coleslaw. It was perfect here. Staff are friendly and competent. They were great. I enjoyed having dinner here. It was cheap, comforting, and tasty. I'm not sure why the ratings are low here. If I had this eatery in my area, I'd gladly ditch going to the major burger fast-food joints for St Hubert. (234) read more

Since this location opened several years ago, 2/3 of the time we order online, the delivery is well over an hour to deliver, up to 90 minutes on some instances or they screw up the order (forgot item, wrong item). Haven't ordered in 6 months and decide to try again (bang head against wall) and sure enough order took an hour and twenty minutes to get here, was barely warm and I tossed it out. I called to ask for a refund and was told "That's not how we do things here". I was offered a credit or replacement meal, but with all the years of issues, I don't want a credit for a place I will NEVER order from again. After reading the reviews here, looks like I am not alone. Maybe take the money from my order and put it towards better customer service. read more

I do enjoy St-Hubert, particularly their club sandwiches. I have not tried their delivery service here, but pick-up two sandwiches with two different types of poutine on the my way home one day. Clubs were awesome, the regular poutine was not bad, but the St-Hubert poutine was something quite different. With spicy chicken and chalet sauce, the St-Hubert poutine isn't so much poutine as it a chicken and fries meal all by it's self. As a side, it's a LOT of food, but it was quite tasty. Of all the places to get a club, this is one of my favorites, but personally I think it's priced a little high for what it is, particularly with this fast-food/take-out location. read more

Chicken kebabs: I wish I had taken a photograph of the plump juicy new menu item chicken kebabs with six pieces of chicken on the online menu compared to the two small skewers with 4 tiny pieces of overdone chicken on each which I received. There was literally a one inch space between each piece. You charged $20.75 for this, a real ripoff! Shame on you St Hubert if this is standard across your restaurants when all your other items are tasty fast food. Follow up: I very quickly had a call from the manager who explained that this is what the company supplies them so not really their fault. It won't stop me from ordering other items! read more

Service:- Went to St. Hubert on Sat afternoon It was a lot of people waiting for orders but only one cashier and one cook were really working very hard of the whole group. And the girl worked at drive thru section came and looked at those trays which are waiting for food and she said "these are all screws up orders" I feel bad for the cashier not only got yell by the lady who said she already waited for 30 mins for her order and wanted the refund but also got yell by her coworker which didn't help. At the end, she still put on a smile to face the long line customers. Bravo! Food: Because of a lot of orders to put out. Food is not that good compare the first time I went there. The helper for the cook. Actually all she does just toast the bread and cut. And you can see there are a lot of fingers indentation on my chicken sandwich Ending Although I got my chicken sandwich which I asked for dark meat and end up with white meat with 5 fingers indentation sandwich. To expand my knowledge of box chicken based restaurants in Canada I went to an Eastern based St Hubert Chicken Restaurant. They don't have this chain place out in Vancouver so I really wanted to try it and compare it to Swiss Chalet. In my opinion St Hubert is better than Swiss Chalet! It's cleaner, classier, and the food it better tasting. It's a bit pricier than Swiss Chalet but it's worth it. I had the double leg platter. Yummy! I wanted to try some of their desserts but I was too full. Maybe next time! read more

Every time I come to Ottawa I always come here for the ribs, which may be one of the best I've had. The ribs are soft and the meat comes off the bone easily. It definitely rivals some of the most famous chain restaurant ribs out there (ex. Montanas). Unlimited and self-serve gravy which could be a little thicker. Fast service. Fast food environment. Another club sandwich with fries and coleslaw. no napkins, no forks, fries in the poutine were cold enough that it felt like they had been in a fridge - colder than the curds! Verdict: I don't usually review delivery restaurants, but I feel as though not reviewing this would be a grave injustice. DON'T EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE. So, I made a family order on a Sunday evening. No specialty orders, literally 3 combos off the menu. After being told it would be at my house within 30 minutes, I made my first call to the restaurant 1 hour later. I was assured the food would be here any minute, which apparently equates to another 20 minutes. Upon arrival, I was asked by the delivery driver "how it was going", to which I responded that my order was literally over an hour late. That was pretty much the end of the conversation, with good reason I suppose. The food itself was luke warm, the fries were undercooked, and the chicken was some of the most fat infused chicken I have ever tasted. Literally awful. As difficult as this is to say, I would suggest either calling Swiss chalet, or simply fasting instead of ordering from here. I was excited to hear of the new St-Hubert location on Riverside & Hunt Club. I live about 10 minutes away. It was a Friday afternoon after work, I found myself needing groceries. I decided to try some St-Hubert delivery instead of going to Metro. I used St-Hubert's website to find their menu and decide what I wanted to order. Great website. I ordered a Half Chicken & Ribs Combo with Fries & Coleslaw My Girlfriend ordered the Chicken breast filet wrap with Salad & Coleslaw We also ordered 8 Cheese Stick appetizers. After ordering, we were told it would take around 45 minutes. Actually, it took 15-20 minutes. The delivery-man was extremely friendly! Our food was excellent. Still hot and very filling. I would definitely recommend St-Hubert, especially the Riverside location. read more

And the quality went down hill, the hubby's club sandwich came with partially cooked bacon. Seriously done with this place. We ordered the poutine along with our meal and had it delivered. I was just about to put a cheese curd in my mouth and noticed "ink" on it. You can clearly make out the letters. It was either melted on it or rubbed on it. Needless to say it ended up in the garbage. We wrote to head office where they advised us we would hear from this particular restaurant ( hunt club). Never heard a word back after 3 wks. Guess sending poutine with red ink on it is no big deal. Will never order from here again. At least apologize for hard earned money being wasted. read more

A first for everything. While visiting area, wanted to try a local place. Seems to be a chain up here, chicken as others say, and it's all roasted. Not as good as Costco's, but good and the meal deal special is the way to go. Very good service, and informative servers. English spoken here, jaja, French too! Flavorful, and decent beverage menu. Doesn't look like a KFC but more of a Applebees or Chili's place with nice decor. read more

I also end up not going during peak hours so that may affect my experience too. The food has always been good too. Note that I've also been to other locations throughout Quebec when I travel, and I find that this place is probably a little better than some of those locations... Worst food delivery service ever!!!! It took 2 1/2 hours to get my food and numerous phone calls to the manager. When I did finally get my food it was completely the wrong order!! When I called and told them they sent me the wrong order they apologized and said they would send my food right away and offered me a rebate for the next time that I order. Really almost 3 hours to get my food and I get the wrong food and you don't even offer to give me the food for free this time. I will never order from them again. And I never did receive the order and ended up having to order from somewhere else and had dinner four hours later!!! We received the incorrect order. We paid double what we received. The manager refused to send us what we ordered or give us a refund. The manager was very aggressive, rude, and unapologetic. Very disappointed with the food and the delivery. 4 of the 5 boxes arrived with cold food and we had to wait a long time to get back in touch and order the 5th box to be delivered. I wouldn't exactly call this BBQ chicken. This is more like a TGI Fridays or Ruby Tuesdays type of place. On the outside you get the impression it's a Kentucky fried chicken kind of place but then you walk in and it's a classier vibe with servers and such. You get unlimited (pretty darn good tasting) coleslaw to your table. The food is mainly chicken but it's any kind of way you would want it. The service was very friendly towards our very large family. The place is kid friendly which I liked a lot. I would defiantly go back there when we return to Canada. read more

We are living in Barrhaven and ordering from Riverside has been a continuous tradition for the last two years. The service has been excellent and deliveries always arrive promptly within the forecasted time. We order wings combo and each time it is delicious. It is all about attitude! People have been nice taking the order and the delivery guy is always appreciative of the tip. They even make it through snow storms! Kudos to these guys!!! read more

We (me and my family) have been driving through this place every sunday for the past 4 weeks as we have been in the area. As you would expect the food is always good. The three previous times I was there the thought crossed my mind "for a new establishment they seem to be using old drive through technology". Not that it really matters but its nice to see your order pop up on the screen, expecially when you are ordering for a family. Anyways yesterday when I was through the drive through was closed... no idea if its because of the old technology or not but it crossed my mind. So... for the first time I went in and got a chance to see how clean and well kept the restaurant and sitting area is. I will certainly consider dining in the restaurant in the future. And as always they seem to never screw up their delicious chicken fingers. I know it seems childish to order chicken fingers (or fillets... as they call them) but they are the best chicken fingers fast food has ever known. Of course their quarter chicken is quite tasty too. I recently tried their chicken fillet poutine and it was Delicious as well. Overall I think you will find it a great establishment and on par with the quality that st. huberts seems to maintain. Worst St-Hubert ever!!!! Stay as far away from this place as you can. Had a bad experience the first time we tried them and, after complaining, head office sent us a $50 gift card to apologize. So, we went open-mindedly to the restaurant tonight and the card would not work!! They said it was not activated and if we didn't produce the letter that accompanied the card they would not honour the gift card. Seriously unbelievable!!! What organization sends an unhappy customer a gift card without activating it?!? Plus the manager and staff made me feel like a criminal, suggesting I was trying to steal $50 from them. Instead of doing the right thing, they chose to have us leave unhappy again AND throw out the $92 food order that we had called in ahead of time. Just beyond ridiculous!! Do not recommend this St-Hubert to anyone. We will go to Gatineau instead - it's worth the drive to not have to deal with the Riverside staff again. read more
