They offered a three-year optometry program which seemed like a great deal. Since the first visit, I have given this business every opportunity to provide me any level of customer service. For the past three-years, they have consistently failed. Well. To be clear, the doctors and eye exams were fantastic, really nicely done. The problem with the Durban Pavilion America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses location is the management of the store itself. There are plenty of staff members, but none seem to have any grasp on how the day-to-day operation works, nor do, they understand the customers drive their reason for existence. Over the course of three-years, each time I visited this store, the staff members would walk around in disarray, talk with one another, and become fixated in wonderment as to how to accomplish even the simplest of tasks. As many other reviews have mentioned, you will wait an inordinate amount of time to simply collect your prescription, and pay your bill. And, while doing so, the employees here will do their very best to let you know just how little you mean to them. If the term "Section 8" were an eyeglass store, it would look just like the America's Best at Durban Pavilion. I will gladly go back to paying higher prices to simply get better customer service.

My annual appointments are professional and always executed in a timely manner. I came in once (not scheduled) for professional advice about a reoccurring stye I kept getting in the same spot, and advanced eye care took me right in. I was given a price friendly eye lid cleanser to help with my stye, as well as info on where I can buy the wash + drops if I run out and cannot make it back in to get more. Ever since I started using the eyelid spray, I've not had any styes since! Before nothing was working: hot compress, wearing glasses only with no eye makeup, eye drops, etc, I tried all the self help ways I could google and nothing worked. As a dry eye, contact wearing patient, I'm always looking for helpful ways in which I can get relief. Advanced eye care always takes great care of me, and the entire staff is such a pleasure to visit with each time.

So many positives, I'll fail at being brief. 1 - Dr. Powers is AMAZING. He was so thorough in his exam of both mine and my wife's eyes and not only went in depth in his explanations, he also caught something important none of our previous providers ever mentioned. He is detailed and thorough, and was so patient with all of our questions. I know he was busy, but he never gave either of us the sense he had anyplace else to be. Fabulous. We've done annual exams at several practices on the east coast. All were good. Some, better than others. He is our favorite eye doctor, ever. Bar none. 2- Michelle: I don't know her exact title or role but she was in the room with us and helped with all the administration, notes and our prescriptions. Wonderful support, very helpful to him and to us. 3- Christina Toomey: This is the young lady who helped me with my eye glass prescriptions. I almost felt bad for her, because I must have looked at a dozen pairs, asked her at least as many questions about pricing and coverage, and she kindly gave her opinion and recommendations on everything I gave her. She never got annoyed or impatient. Her colleague sitting next to her, Tiffany(?) was also super helpful, and gave her opinions of which ones looked better on me. All of this, and bonus--Christina even somehow adjusted my severely bent computer glasses so now they are usable until my new pair comes in. Exceptional customer service! This was as good an experience as you might hope for in any health care setting, and they shattered our expectations. Even if they are out of network for you, Advanced Eye Care is well-worth the out of pocket cost if you have it.
