What a beautiful optical office located here in the St. John's County area! Just minutes away from Durbin Pavilion. Not a far drive from home, 5 minutes from me (a big plus especially if your eyes are dilated like mine right now. lol. Thank goodness my husband came with me today). Love Dr. Diane Kapadia. Oh she is kind, thorough and personable. I felt very comfortable with her the first day I met her 14 years ago. Looking forward to picking up my new prescription sunglasses I picked out today (with the help from a nice lady). Thank you for a great appointment experience! See you next year for my eye exam. I was told this is the best eye doctors office in Saint John's County. Everyone who told me this is right. I got tired of going to the large retailers for my eye exams and glasses. Each experience was worse then the last. It seemed like each eye doctor was a "floater" who only occasionally at that location. So if there was a question about the kids contacts they had to track that doctor's location and MAYBE get an answer in a week or so. Most of these "floaters" were inexperienced and the visit consisted of which is better..... A or B. Followed by B or A. I thought back to when I was a kid and my family's eye doctor knew my entire family, what sports we played and where I planned on going to college. How things have changed. Until now. This is the friendliest and best staff I've ever met at an eye doctor since childhood. The office is also most strategically organized office I've ever seen. The appointment starts at the first eye test machine on the left in the left office and moves from machine to machine from left to right from office to office. When you arrive at the room for the eye exam you get 100% of the doctor's attention and receive a very thorough eye exam. The doctor spent as much time as was needed to make sure my lens prescription was perfect for me. He compared my new prescription to the prescription from a year ago. What a difference. I honestly can't describe how much better I see with my new glasses compared to my last pair. If you want to improve you vision, I highly recommend you try here. St Johns Eye Associates. I needed new glasses for computer work so I scheduled an appointment with SJEA. Front desk staff very welcoming, office is beautiful, plenty of parking. The technician was very efficient and professional. Dr. Smith was great. Picked out frames with assistance and was on my way. Glasses were ready within days and I picked them up. However, I could not wear them very long - the computer screen was not in perfect focus. I scheduled a return trip to SJEA and was told the lenses were indeed correct and that I would need to see Dr. Smith again for a re-exam. Dr. Smith was only available at a further office (WGV) on Nov 1st. At this appointment I was informed by Dr. Smith the lenses were NOT what he had been prescribed, so I was right! Today I made a return trip to pick up the correct prescription. So what started out as a 2 trip project turned into a FIVE trip project. Not ONE person said "We made a mistake and we are sorry for your inconvenience." Humans make mistakes but an apology would go a long way in establishing a good business relationship! read more

Dr. Diane was wonderful. The problem I have is with the billing department. This is the 2nd year in a row they wanted to bill me upfront without even consulting my insurance company. The first year I paid up front and then had to fight to get my overpayment back. This year I refused to pay up front and it has taken over 6 weeks before they finally got the insurance figured out. They have no clue how to work with insurance companies. read more

This was, without doubt, the best experience I have ever had at an optometrist's office. The office is clean, neat, and modern. The office staff at the reception desk was extremely welcoming. The assistant, who took me through a myriad of the latest high-tech machines to test my vision, was friendly and very professional. I saw Dr. Tran and his assistant, Matt, who were outstanding professionals and extremely knowledgeable. Because of Dr. Tran's expertise, he was able to alert me to a problem which needed attention. He explained the results of my vision test very clearly and advised me as to follow-up for my problem. I also got glasses and contact lenses. The husband and wife team at St John's Eye Associates are wonderful! Every time I go for my check up they both are funny, friendly and professional. Both Dr's get really excited when they talk about the equipment they use as it is all state of the art gear. They just recently moved their office to this new, larger location and it is BEAUTIFUL!! The office has an optical showroom! There is gorgeous wood merchandising displays with matching office furniture, the carpet is a textured Berber and the ceiling has a lovely crown molding. Ahhhh...if only my house could look so good! I highly recommend either Dr as they both are experienced experts in their field. But, more importantly, I recommend both Dr's because they seem to be genuinely concerned for their patients well being. read more

I had an eyeglass prescription filled at the Nocatee location and was very impressed with the level of customer service. The staff was concerned when I was not completely satisfied with the resulting glasses and worked with me on adjustments as well ad modifying the type of lenses. I had a great experience overall, but one of the glasses salesladies at the front soured my visit. I went in for contacts and glasses. The office is very nice and I was impressed with the staff at the desk and throughout my visit. After being fitted for contacts I was taken to the front to try on eyeglasses, with instructions to dilate my eyes before I left. This lady was tasked with doing some math to calculate the most effective way to use my insurance towards my purchases. She told me a certain amount for my contacts and lenses, and the frames would depend on which ones I chose. She hurried me through the process of picking frames, after I said I liked the second pair I tried on better than the first she considered that a done deal and took me back to her desk to check out. They ended up being completely covered by my insurance so I said what the heck. Here's where things went particularly south: after completing the purchase and checking out, she goes to dilate my eyes. I let her know I am wearing contacts, because I figure they need to be removed. She says it's no worry and continues to proceed. About 5 minutes later I'm sitting there and an actual optometrist comes out. The saleslady asks the optometrist right in front of me if it's ok to leave contacts in while dilating. The optometrist says no, and the saleslady has me remove and throw out the sample lenses I just put in 15 minutes ago. Glad to finally be out of the hands of the saleslady, they take me to the back to check my (not so) dilated eyes. They find everything ok and I go to leave, but am stopped on my way out by saleslady claiming she miscalculated and I owe an additional $267! A week later I return to pick up my glasses. Again it's saleslady. She shows me the glasses and I ask to try them on. From all the glasses I've had in the past I think it's pretty typical to want to see your new glasses on your face. She tells me the prescription is fine; they check it when they arrive. If I want to try them on she suggests me closing my eyes "to feel how they fit". I have to insist I would like to remove my contacts and try my glasses on properly. She finally goes in the back in a huff and brings me a case and some contact solution. TL;DR If I'm spending over a grand on contacts and glasses at your establishment, I expect a certain level of treatment that was not delivered. read more

I was referred to this office by a friend. I saw Dr. Tran. He was very efficient to the point that he understood that I had to return to work that day of the examination and so arranged for my eyes to be dilated on the next visit that would include the contact fitting. I was able to get in very quickly when calling to schedule my first appointment and the second. During my next appointment for the contact fitting, they were all very patient with me while I was attempting to get the contacts in my eyes. (I am still trying to get the knack) Adam was also very patient with assisting me to find a pair of glasses that fit my face and personality. I work in the medical field as a Physical Therapist and know how crazy medical offices can be. I was very pleased with my friend referring me to this office. I would and HAVE referred others to Dr. Tran and his staff. I had been in this office before and was not a patient at that time. My daughter had glasses that had become too loose and I just popped in their office. They tightened them up and at no charge. A WINNER IN MY BOOK. read more

St. Johns Eye Associates has won me over. I've said for years what a wonderful office they are, but recently I have truly seen what makes them so special. Dr. Tran and Matt have been professional, helpful, and knowledgeable! I have struggled finding the perfect contacts. Dr. Tran was incredibly patient and support throughout this long process. They made me feel comfortable in asking questions and allowed me to be honest with my experience with each new lenses I tried. I now have the perfect contacts and have no more headaches! That is all because of Dr. Tran! In addition during one of my visits they felt that I had waited too long in the waiting room to be seen. (I hadn't noticed nor had I felt that way.) But at the end of my visit they apologized for the wait and gave me a Starbucks gift card. Both doctors are wonderful and really go out of their way to ensure that your eye prescription is perfectly balanced for both eyes with top state of the art equipment. Everyone was so pleasant and professional as though they were each hand picked. And Dr. Diane...she has a heart of gold. She took time with me to make certain i received the best treatment. Dr Tran was extremely patient with me even though what I thought would be a short visit ended up taking longer than I thought. I went in to get an eye exam, fitted for contacts, got new glasses and was dilated also. He and his staff were patient, funny and made it a very relaxing atmosphere. The gentleman at the front who helped me select glasses found 4+ pairs before I was like stop, so many options!! Haha! I was skeptical about finding a new frame for my face but hey he did it and I look awesome now! It was definitely out of my comfort zone so I'm glad I let him pick options he felt looked the best on me. The process was pleasant and I look forward to having my life changed with contacts now! Definitely go in to see Dr Tran because he is a professional and will explain everything that he is doing during the visit so you're not left wondering what is going on. Very dissatisfied with their services. They charge $178 for a contact lens fitting. I called 2 other local eye doctors and they charge $75 and $58 for a contact lens fitting. The wait time is also terrible. My appointment was scheduled for 11:30am and I did not see the doctor until 1:15pm. They obviously don't care about their patients.
