Was wearing a Trump 2020 hat and was asked not to return. Asked why and was given no reason. Went…read moreback and told we had to finish our beer and leave, and all the time looking at my hat and not explaining why. Woke ideology is all I can think of. We are spending good money, disgustingly unappreciated. Don't go there in case someone is listening to your conversations. Go Woke. Go Broke.

This review is for the Bayers Lake location…read more 1) Lost 2 stars for poor customer service and lack of information: We walked in at 7:00 p.m. to try their Friday trivia night. (We had called to book a table for trivia and when we walked in, they said no need to reserve--it doesn't get that busy. That should have been a warning.) We sat down for our meal. By 8:30, the first round of trivia had only concluded (this is considered slow--more on that below). That's when the server came by and grumpily asked if one of the people our party was 19 or over (he's 18). When we said no, she said he had to be out of there by 9:00. She didn't think to tell us this at 7:00, knowing we were there for trivia? No signage anywhere on the premises saying "Patrons under 19 have to leave by 9:00 p.m."? What kind of short-sighted policies do they have here? They were happy to take our money and not tell us that we'd have to leave by 9:00, knowing that we wouldn't be able to finish trivia. 2) Lost 1 star for slow and uninteresting trivia. Questions were read straight from a card by a host who didn't seem interested and didn't engage with his audience. He read each question slowly about three times, hence the s-l-o-w pace where it took 30 minutes for one round that didn't even have audio or video clues. The lack of players should have been our clue that this trivia event is not a success. 3) Lost 1 star for loud, eclectic ambience--this place doesn't know what it wants to be. The trivia was taking place at the same time as music on the speaker and sports TV were playing, all jumbled together at the same time. Maybe that's why the host had to repeat each question slowly several times. But hey, if you want to watch baseball while answering questions about Thomas the Tank Engine and listening to Mumford and Sons simultaneously, this is the place for you. If the food were good, it could save this place, but nope, just mediocre fare that could be served at any pub. And don't get me started on the quick little brown movement we saw out of the corner of our eye, darting under the dining tables. We know it's common for restaurants to have this problem, but flagrantly in the dining room while we were eating makes it easy to warn everyone we know never to come here. Solid nope, nope, nope for this place.

What a bizarre pub. Two of us arrived at 5pm for dinner and drinks after work. It was busy, but…read morethere were plenty of servers and we weren't in a hurry. We were seated right away... but then we waited. We waited 20 minutes for a server to come to take our orders, another hour and 10 minutes for burgers and fries to arrive, and then after we finished our meal, another 45 minutes for our bills. In that whole time no one stopped by the table to ask about a second round of drinks. I would have taken the poor service personally, but the tables around us were all having the same experience. The only upside of the bar is the TVs. It looks like a fun spot for watching sports but I definitely won't be back to find out. There are too many restaurant options in downtown Halifax to waste your time and money here.

They sat us next to the only other people in there that were yelling when the whole place was empty. The server clearly knew she was giving bad service but did not care . We overheard the server complaining about us when looking for the washroom. We had to find her to pay so we could leave to go across the street to get some real service. Food we do not know as we were not given a chance to order any food. Ambiance was ok. It should be called the PIT not the pint. Clearly the managers/owners don't care either.
