I called around for a quote and made an appointment to have St. Louis Windshield Repair come out to fix a chip on my windshield. The first appointment available in the area was within 3 days. I was going to be home all day, so I didn't need a window of time, although they did offer to provide one. Brian called me when he was on his way, about 10 minutes out. When he arrived, he discovered that there were 3 chips, not just one, and offered to repair the other 2 smaller chips for $15 each. The total for 3 chips fix came out to $100 and he was done in under 20 minutes, very fast! I'm not sure how to assess the actual repair other than wait to see if they hold up. He offered a lifetime guarantee and will perform further repair if any of them grow. I can still see the cracks, and what was referred to as a "scar", look like little shaded circles (where the glue was placed). I had to have my windshield replaced due to an unfixable crack. STL Windshield Repair came out on a very cold day(20s), and replaced the windshield in my driveway. I had a broken leg, so I let the car sit in the driveway for over 24hrs before driving. The weather was very cold and cloudy for a week, but no ice/snow. The windshield was not well cleaned after the install, and I had to hobble around and clean it myself. There were glue marks and other muck that needed to be cleaned off. When the sun finally came out after about a week, I noticed very light scratches right in my field of view while driving. When the sun hit it in the mornings or evenings, it would make a very distracting refraction just like a crack. So, I had STL Windshield Repair come out and take a look at it(which ended up taking over a week). I figured it could be corrected with a coating or something, but the technician stated it had to be replaced and that they would do it right now. Good so far? However, the technician stated that he would never have made the mistake of installing a scratched windshield the first time, and accused my wife and I of causing the scratches. Let's not forget that I had to clean the windshield after that installation, because he had left glue marks all over it. So clearly a final inspection was NOT done. He pretty much left in anger, and said that he wouldn't warrantee the replacement windshield. I guess the service was reasonable which is why I bumped it up to 3 stars. Can't say I'm too eager to do business with them again though. read more

Solid five out of five. I sent SLWR a message on Sunday and was pleasantly surprised to get an answer back that same day by the owner. I'd filled out for a quote on Yelp and was given a quote right away. I left it that I'd call them on Monday, the following day, to set up for an appointment. We had a cold snap coming in that week and I knew the mobile service was not going to be available so I called to set up a date and time. Fast forward to Friday.....I did an Oops and found myself scratching my head over a mistake I made so when I got there Friday morning they didn't have me down for a windshield replacement. Through absolutely no fault of their own. I scratched my head some more and when I figured out what I did wrong I asked when their next available time would be to get a replacement done and they looked at their clock and surprised me by telling me that afternoon. Dropped the car keys, went home, they called a few hours later, boom! done. They couldn't have been nicer if they'd tried. I almost wanted to crack my windshield again just so I could go back. Very good company! Brian came over to fix my windshield. I pointed out a chip that had already been "fixed" by one of the big named companies who I trusted, and Brian found that it wasn't fixed at all and showed me how the crack was still able to flex a lot. He also found another major crack that I wasn't even aware of and showed me everything he was doing and explained how it was fixing the issue areas. Their prices are great! Hello everyone. This is literally the first time I have ever felt the need to post a negative review on a company in my entire life so I'm not sure where to start. On 7/13 I had an appointment to have a chip in my windshield fixed. Estimate was $70 so I figured that was great! Upon arrival, I noticed two smaller chips and asked about getting them fixed as well. The technician offered to do all 3 for $105. Even better I thought! This is where the story goes bad. I paid the $105 and put the receipt in my glove box. Then I went back into my work. I had an appointment at work so I had to grab some paperwork for that customer. After coming back outside (less than 3 minutes later), the technician (Shawn Moore) approached me to say he needs to show me something. He shows me a crack that went down to the edge and up about 2-3 feet. He says "it happens sometimes, so I'm going to refund your money". He then proceeds to tell me that "it happened before you went inside". It didn't. The chip was directly above my glove box and I looked at it as I put the receipt away. So I reached out to the company and told them my story. The employee on the phone was very empathetic, but told me she had no authority to reimburse me and that she had to wait until her manager got back the next day. She did mention that being in direct sunlight and/or having the AC on recently could impact the crack, but that was explained after it was broken. I wasn't given an option to move my car to the shade or for another appointment time. He just started working on it even though he knew these risks. Long story short (or trying to at least), they offered me a $20 credit for a windshield replacement the following day. So instead of paying $105, they want me to pay $415 ($435 is the price to replace my windshield). So I'm out an extra $310 because of their incompetence. Do not go with this company. They could fix you chip for cheap, or you could have to pay substantially more when they mess it up completely. Update to respond: I was offered $20 first. Then $50. Then $100. That is not "substantial" when you're talking about me spending $5-600 *MORE* than I was going to spend originally. Also I am not buying a new car, so I am not wasting anymore of my time trying to "negotiate" an equitable solution for this. I will take other steps necessary to try to recoup the money I am losing. As far as not needing to do the calibration, I also called around. Every one of the companies I spoke with specifically said it would be "dangerous to drive without calibration". The owners manual for my vehicle specifically states that a calibration is required when a windshield is replaced. So to say that it doesn't need to be done usually seems very dangerous to post on a public forum (especially as a company who people would perceive as an expert on the subject). Just because other companies handle warranties "similarly" doesn't mean there wasn't negligence on the part of your technician. Your office personnel knew that doing it in the heat and direct sunlight was a potential cause for the crack that happened. I'm positive that your technician did as well. The only person involved in the scenario that did not know was me, because I don't work in the industry so that knowledge was new to me. I could have parked it in the shade but I wasn't given the information necessary to make an informed decision. Now my windshield needs to be replaced and I'm the one out money. read more

Driving through 44, a large piece of debris came flying right into my windshield. And of course, caused a quarter-sized damage on the glass. I feel like the world has been against me since I've purchased my SUV with the scratch not 3 months ago and now a crack on my windshield! My kind husband took my car here the next day to inquire about repairs. It was raining that day and he was told they don't do repairs when the conditions are wet but they did schedule for the following week since I was working days that week and couldn't leave my car at home. Monday came and of course, it was raining again so they rescheduled for today. The place called around 9:15 to confirm that the guy is coming. He was over at the house before 10. We live less than a mile away. He worked on it for maybe 15 minutes and was done. He then explained some things about my windshield... That replacement for one with the eyesight technology is going to be more costly if one day, I do end up needing it done. He also explained the lifetime warranty of their work. The price ended up being $20 more (quoted $50 originally) because he found a second point of impact during repair and had to fill that as well. Overall, I think he did a good job and we would be more inclined to using this company in the future. I can still see the little "scars" from the points of impact but the glass looks a lot better and has lessened my worries of it cracking. read more

I'm glad I waited a few days before writing my review, because things have since gotten much better. My original tech came out to do a full windshield replacement on my 2019 4 Runner. According to my Ring doorbell recording, he was on his cell phone the ENTIRE time. He was dressed incredibly unprofessionally and was very standoffish when I tried to talk to him. His work was beyond unacceptable. The newly installed windshield was put in uneven leaving the sealing off along the top, the rear view mirror was installed too high so all I could see out of it was the knobs on the ceiling to control my 4 wheel drive, the vin hole didn't match up with the vin, wires were left hanging down out of the rear view mirror, grease hand marks were on the grab bars, and he left a screw driver on the seat. I immediately called the office and told them this was unacceptable and I expected someone to be out to replace the repair ASAP. In order to allow the sealer enough time to set, they booked me an appointment for a few days later between 1-3 pm. I was told the boss was going to come out with the tech to see what kind of work the first tech had done. I became quickly frustrated again when the boss and tech didn't show up until 4 pm, over an hour after my appointment window. This is when things finally got better, the boss and new tech apologize profusely and agreed that the original work was unacceptable and not something they are proud of as a company. The boss took the time to explain to me everything he had done to remedy the situation and explained their warranty policy, something I didn't even know they had because the first tech barely spoke to me. The windshield is now great and I appreciate St. Louis Windshield Repair fixing their mistake in an almost timely manner. read more

My fiancé and I were in Kansas City and my window got busted in at a park we were at. Someone stole her purse and I was left without a window. As soon as I got home I gave St. Louis Windshield Repair a call and they were able to get to me in a fair amount of time. Brian met me up at school sometime during the winter and there was a problem with the way the new window was supposed to fit in my door. Ah, a chipped windshield. A serious PITA. After calling our State Farm Agent and receiving no help with their recommendation, I took it upon myself to seek out Yelp. Here I found these guys! All of the gentleman that helped me were kind and reasonable. The man that took my info via phone called me back within minutes and had someone at my house within a couple of hours. My repairman arrived and was fast and efficient. He even humored my curiosity and explained how the process worked. I was on the schedule for Tuesday and your scheduler apologized to me on the phone for the mix up. And you only called back AFTER I called again today once you missed the appointment. I was very clear I had to have it done by 11:30 and no one showed or called so I called at 10:45 which by then was too late. I was also very clear to the scheduler that I was parked at the visitors lot at the front where there is no gate. The fact that you sent TWO trucks late to the same job should tell everyone all they need to know about how things are run there.
