I was able to get an appointment quickly, and able to use my car insurance(needing to pay the deductible). Staff was friendly, and greeted me and checked me in upon arrival. Their parking lot is very small so there isn't really anywhere to park. They have a waiting area and a few snacks. The inside was clean but seemed very dim lit. Scheduled my insurance claim rock chip repair at my home for my SUV for August 1st afternoon, which at the time was two weeks out. Got several emails as well as texts that a tech would be out in the afternoon and what I should do to prepare. On August f 1st no one showed up. Since I scheduled through Safelite Corporate I didn't know what shop my repair was assigned to. Looked up Safelite in Yelp and it seems all the shops have a crappy rating either for not showing up for appointments or customers spending hours after their appointed times waiting when they take their vehicle to one of their shops. After no one showed up and no one called to apologize or reschedule I called Safelite corporate and they apologized, I'm sure they have plenty practice, and transferred the insurance claim to Glass America who not only showed on the day scheduled they were a few hours early and repaired my rock chip! read more

I have now attempted to repair two windshields with these clowns, and both of them resulted in a broken windshield or an unsuccessful repair. But guess what? They still charge your insurance company for the repair, and then leave you on the hook for the new piece of glass. The manager is also useless, as he called me back "to apologize" for the technician failing at repairing my windshield. When I asked what if any solutions other than me paying out of pocket he just sort of chuckled and said, as I told you moving forward the new glass will be your responsibility. I set up an appointment to have my wife's front passenger side window fixed. I had a 12-5 appointment and they were a no show. I called at 4:30 to see why I hadn't received any call or text and they said they cancelled because the tech couldn't get ahold of me. They didn't call or leave a voicemail or send a text. I called up in the morning to see if they could fix the issue and schedule me and first thing they did was say I was lying and that their team called me. The. they said the best they could do for an at home repair was a week later. TLDR: They don't care if they miss a few appointments or inconvenience you. Local business manager was unfriendly and unwilling to help. Actually tried to make their error my fault and challenged me multiple times with no apology after they had the wrong windshield at my appt. Corporate customer service apologized several times for how he treated me and handled the situation. We even found a better discount code than what he tried to use after charging me for their mistake. Then the tech didn't even tell me he was finished and just left with my vehicle unlocked and keys sitting in it. Thanks safelite!! Had an appointment scheduled (04) hr window at a time that their system provided. We agreed with it and we opened our schedule so that we would be available. The 04 hrs came and went with no tech, no phone call. On 03 occasions that afternoon we contacted Safelite through the 800# asking for an update. Tech was suppose to be there but no show. What I see is inferior materials are being installed. What concerns me is my original prob hasn't been resolved. After the initial installation the windshield cracked internally. After two warranty installations within 4 month, the windshield cracked again because of the heating element. The crack has traveled from the driver's side to the passenger side of the windshield. They claim they will order another windshield from a new manufacture, however that was over two months ago. I'm disappointed because this has been an awful experience. Money spent for what should be quality products has been wasted. What I want now is a full refund for the original installation so I can get it replaced by the dealership. read more

They didn't replace my windshield, so I can't say how well they replace windshields. They DID waste hours of my time and condescend to me, though. My appointment was at 7 a.m. (arrived at 6:30 and waited until 6:50, which was check-in time according to the various emails I got about my appointment). Nobody there, because the shop doesn't open until 8. Nobody to answer the phone (the robot answering machine will just hang up on you, no matter how many times you call). The national switchboard just redirects to the local phone number, which again hangs up on you. Chatting on the website led me to a different customer service number which found my appointment but couldn't get ahold of the store for me. CS assured me they had my windshield and would be able to replace it at 8 when they opened. Someone arrived around 7:30 and locked the door behind him. I waited until 7:45 when another two people (customers) arrived and the door was open. I waited in line to be helped only to be told I missed my appointment, and now I couldn't get my service done. They said I should have put my key in the dropbox for them to grab at 7 (which nobody told me, no email told me, the website didn't tell me, and no sign indicated at the store). When I brought this up, the front desk representative just said it was a "new" service but couldn't answer how I would have known that, seeing as nothing told me to drop off my key. It should be noted that I was parked in front of the shop for an hour and a half and didn't see anyone come to check the dropbox, so not sure it would have helped even if I DID know to put my key there and wait. The emails did tell me I could wait for the service to finish in the waiting room, which wasn't open until 8, so I guess they wanted me to drop my key off and just wait in the parking lot for an hour?? Now they said they can't help me today or even this week, which was MY fault for missing my appointment (even though I was there on time and they were not). The manager who spoke to me answered every question I had by telling me he was "just trying to reason" with me, which felt quite condescending and unnecessary since asking for help and explanation on their part is not in fact unreasonable when you have been waiting an hour and a half for an appointment you did show up on time for. read more

The day after windshield was replaced, I noticed tgat my DMV car sticker, oil change reminder, and Waterway scan sticker was not transferred to the new windshield. Called the location to see about my stickers and was informed they were already at the landfill. They told me no one has ever asked to have their stickers transferred from old windshield to new one. I feel like I have the worst luck with windshields these days! I had another rock hit my windshield a few weeks ago and so I got online and scheduled a service which was super easy to do online! I was even able to pay up front with the online quote they provided. I scheduled the repair to be done at my home so that I didn't need to drive anywhere else! I received multiple reminders (text and emails) prior to the day of my service, and then on the day of; Ian (the service tech) called me when he was about 10 minutes away. When he arrived, it was amazing how quick he worked and when I inspected the windshield, I forgot where it was because the seal was so good! Ian was friendly and efficient and did a great job! Hopefully I won't have any other windshield cracks again; but if I do, I will be using Safelite again. read more

Just had my passenger side window replaced by Safelite after my window was broken and BRAND NEW '23 truck was broken into. I wouldn't use Safelite again for any moving parts. The door now sounds like a maraca because they could not get the broken glass shards out from inside the door. The controls (windows/locks) now do not work on that door. When I use the drivers controls to roll that window down, it sounds like there is glass shards scraping against the new window. Try calling and you cannot physically get anyone on the line, just a phone tree of robots. Just overall not pleased with the experience. I won't use Safelite again unless I absolutely have to. Go to a body shop for ANYTHING other than just a windshield or any other non-moving/non-mechanical part. Side note - the technician was super friendly, unfortunately that's not what I care about here. read more

Their chatbot is useless. Lost my first appointment because I followed chatbot's advice. This company did not respond in a timely fashion to my request for an appointment; took about 4-5 days to get the job done. Tried charging me $17+ more for the job than the email price they sent me. 2019 F150 crew cab, right front window, first appointment (June 24, 2024 8a-12p), tech broke the new window, so I had to wait 4 more days (July 2, 2024 12p-5p) to get another tech with another window to come out. In the meantime, they installed saran wrap (?) to plug the window hole. It did not stay in place so I used duct tape to hold it. New guy who came out on July 2 told wife I should never use duct tape and hoped I had luck removing the glue, making no attempt to remove it himself. Goof Off works really good by the way. After tech done, he charged me $475.56. The quote was for $425.99. I called to challenge July 3, 2024, was promised a refund, 1 week ago. No refund. Cannot get ahold of anyone, so went to chat. Put off again by being told to call tomorrow and providing a phone number. Since I ALREADY called and was ALREADY promised a refund I should ALREADY have my refund. But now I have to wait another day to make the call so they can promise I will get the refund in 7-10 business days. Only took them 3 hours to hit my credit card to get their money, but 7-10 days for a refund????. read more

Windshield had a chip in it. Had this company do a repair for almost $200. Right after it was done, did not look filled in properly which I left on their survey. I was going to take it to be checked the following week when I had a day off and it completely failed with about a foot long crack. They then couldn't schedule anytime relatively quickly but wouldn't refund my money for the repair, only put it towards a new one. The new one was over $800 so I still would've owed over $600 with the $200 off from bad repair. I called another local company and it was less than $500 for a new windshield and they got me in asap. I would never recommend this company or take my vehicle there again. I'd literally drive with a cracked windshield over dealing with them. read more
