Half of my bacon, egg, and cheddar on a croissant (the rest is already in my belly). Very good!

After having such good experiences here for breakfast, I was looking forward to having lunch here. Their lunch favorites state they include macaroni or potato salad and they had both on display. However, when I was ordering, the cashier said they were out of it for sides and those were only being sold by the pound. I asked if there was something they could substitute for it (they have small bags of chips, bagels, drinks, etc), or if they could adjust the price and she said no. What a letdown and poor customer service. I didn't order what I was going to. Unfortunately, I won't be back and I hope they consider improving this in the future.

**INITIAL REVIEW** Thanks to my friend Paula, I recently learned that today is National Bagel Day. In short, I wasn't planning on eating breakfast on my way home from my overnight shift, but I guess National Bagel Day is a good excuse to eat some delicious bagels. Of course I had to pick a local spot, and since I am rarely in the mid and south parts of St. Lucie County, why not a bagel joint there, right? I did a quick search via Yelp on the top restaurants that serve bagels, and on top of the list via Fort Pierce was this location, Treasure Coast Bagel Bakery. Not only was it a local joint, it happens to be highly-rated among my fellow Yelpers, especially the Elites. Ergo, I had to check them out. Though an address is provided, Treasure Coast Bagel Bakery (which I will shorthand to TCBB for the remainder of the review) is located in the Linkside Shoppes plaza, right between West Marine and Workout Anytime. Upon entering the small establishment, you can see the kind of aura and personality TCBB is aiming for with its display cases, color scheme, and modern art: a somewhat upscale bodega diner in New York City. One display case had all the bagels, which are advertised as New York Style. From what I was able to count, there were 17 different varieties/flavors. Another display case had an assortment of baked goods and pastries. Finally, the last display cold case had different kinds of pasta and fruits salads, cream cheese flavors, and the bulk Boar's Head meats. The small bread display on the top of the cold case had me interested as it showed off their "flagels" which I assume is half-bagel, half flatbread. Nevertheless, it was a cool concept but I stayed with the traditional style. My order from TCBB was their breakfast special: a bagel sandwich with Boar's Head prosciutto, egg, and cheese (bagel of choice was marble), two bagels (asiago cheese and jalapeno cheese), two 1/4 cups of cream cheese spread (jalapeno cheese and lox). brown cinnamon sugar iced coffee, and Natalie's orange-mango juice. I will say that the breakfast special sandwich was very good. I kept it simple and stayed with the core ingredients. I am sure if I customized it to my liking, it would be better, but I wanted to taste the sandwich at its default. Only gripe would be that it was definitely not bodega-sized. It definitely needed a lot more meat especially at its price. The two bagels and cream cheese, which I ate later were fantastic. I did split up the two over the course of the afternoon, but I did finish it. The iced coffee was definitely a sweetened drink for purest coffee drinkers. Imagine someone ordering only pure coffee with basic ingredients and that is how sweet it would be. That was my brown cinnamon sugar iced coffee. A good amount of strong coffee with cream and brown sugar, but definitely an "Americano" by the term. And you can't really go wrong with Natalie's right? Ultimately, my initial visit to TCBB was excellent. Did the bagels taste exactly like a New York Style bagel? Nope, not exactly. You have to get New York water to pull that off and well... we are in Florida. And even if TCBB imported New York water, the climate would affect it too. Still, it is pretty damn close and pretty damn good. For now, I am giving TCBB four out of five stars. I have to take into account this is just one visit. Ergo, I need to make a couple more visits, probably for their lunch menu which I hope they serve early because their breakfast is my dinner. If they stay consistent or are even better with their lunch menu, I will give them their fifth star.

Marble bagel with veggie cream cheese

Clean lil place. I'm not a bagel connoisseur, I don't go out of my way to eat one. Today Husb wanted to come here, I had a marble with veggie cream cheese. The bagel seemed lighter than others I've tried; the veggie cream cheese was best ever, nicely balanced and no scallion overboard. Actually enjoyed it. Husb had a salt bagel same cheese he really liked. Service was friendly and efficient.

The Reuben on garlic bagel toasted was delicious. Soon as I walked in I was greeted. The atmosphere was very relaxed and chill. Everyone was kind but most importantly the food was good.

It's been amazing every time. I think of The S&S as an old school supper club. There are 8 tables I believe and only one staggered seating. They don't turn over the tables. You get five courses. You are started with a smoked fish dip plate. I generally don't like fish dip but the fish dip there is excellent. Next is soup. There were two choices. We both went with the Prime Rib Vegetable. Excellent. The salad course is fine - but the Greek feta salad dressing was really really tasty. Next is the entree. There are 5 choices on the regular menu, plus 2 specials. My wife ordered the Rack of Lamb ($39) and I had the NY Strip and Shrimp Scampi ($37). Both were beyond excellent. Huge portions and plenty to take home for another meal. The dessert is the Chef's choice. Last night it was Key Lime Pie. Most people, including us, take it to go because you're so full from all the delicious food in the first four courses. I had my Key Lime later, at home, and it was delicious. The restaurant itself is very nice. I'm very comfortable there. The service is friendly and attentive and very professional. We've had the same waitress all 3 visits over 3 years - that's a good sign. And she's very very good. The location is on Depot Drive right along the railroad tracks. It's not the best location, but there's parking right there and I enjoy watching the Brightline passing by. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

They were very kind and said I should be fine to get a slice. I arrived and both ladies greeted me with huge smiles and remembered that I drove all that way for this cake. They had so many other amazing treats so I also grabbed a key lime cupcake to balance out the chocolate cake. Let's be clear, I am not a chocolate fan. I hate super sweet desserts.... Neither of these desserts were overly sweet or too indulgent. The Dubai cake was moist, flavorful and the crunch from the pistachio middle layer was perfect. The cupcake was also super flavorful without being too tart, very moist cake and the frosting was delicious. I will definitely use this bakery for any big cakes in the future or whenever I need an amazing treat.

Baur and Herbert T. Morris who started out by selling their products in the Philadelphia area. Morris's wife came up with the Tastykake name and a Boston student created the Tastykake logo. The company adopted the slogan, "The Cake That Made Mother Stop Baking." Until 1941 the cakes were delivered by horse and wagons and limited to cities. This changed during WWII when TastyKake sent out their snacks all over the world to deployed soldiers. The company expanded and in 2011 was sold to Flowers Food. I found this TastKake outlet while out and about in Port St. Lucie. Normally I tend to stay away from this kind of food due to it's high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated vegetable oil but it's a pandemic and nothing is more comforting than something that reminds you of your childhood like a TastyKake. They had a selection of Nature's Own Bread for only 99 cents. Bread is one of the items that is sold out in my local stores. Cereal was an amazing 3 for $6. Besides the usual selection of Tastykake pies, cakes, brownies, donuts, and danishes they also carry chips, crackers, Welch's fruit snacks, and other pantry items. My favorite TastyKake is the Butterscotch Krimpet first created in 1927. A box was only $1.33 and aren't too terrible at 220 calories. I am also a fan of the Coconut Juniors. While a TastyKake isn't a health food, I will be enjoying my Butterscotch Krimpets, in moderation of course.
