I don't have a problem with the staff who helped me with the eye exams, they were efficient, courteous and did their job. However, it appears that they are charging people for their eyeglass prescriptions. People need to be aware that the FTC Guidelines under the Eyeglass Rule specify that prescriptions for eyeglasses are required to be given to the patient right after their refraction (vision exam). They are NOT allowed to charge extra for it. Please search "Eyeglass rule" on line and read the rules. The fine per violation is $50,000 so this is taken seriously. People are unaware of this. They had the audacity to charge over $200 for an eye exam (which can be had elsewhere for a third of the price) and then say the prescription was extra. This is wrong and illegal. If you have paid extra for an eyeglass prescription anywhere, that office charged illegally. read more

Doctors are very good. But a THREE month wait for eye surgery is ridiculous. Not right.

Very professional, not a long wait, the staff was very nice, the place was clean they addressed my cataracts

Dr Rena is the one to see. Listens and explains problems and procedures. On time appointments in two locations which is a plus.

I had Bilateral Cataract surgery withh Dr Karli in March of 2021. I assumed I would have his perfect clarity after the surgery which so many people reported to me. That has never been the case. Apparently I have 20/20 vision but now have streaks in my vision constantly and intermittent haze . I am rubbing my eyes frequently, using lubricating drops and warm pacs to me eye lids for my new diagnosis of DRY EYE SYNDROME. This problem started virtually immediately after my procedure. I have used Restasis as she ordered regulalrly , to no avail, saw the Cornea specialist in the group,saw the Lens specialist in their group and no one has been able to help me. I am now searching for a new Opthamologist and who knows if that Dr can help me at this point. I paid additional $1250.00 per eye for a lens that would correct my Astigmatism so I no longer had to wear glasses! So here I am, having to wear reading glasses ( which I knew would happen) never needed them before. I blink my eyes and rub them all the time and intermittently, briefly will see clearly without lines or haze. I should have gone north to my amazing opthamologist, I know this would never have happened. So sorry I didn't do more research.! read more

My name is Barry Cohen and I had my cataracts surgery on both eyes performed at Saint Lucie Eye Associates. I am sorry to say that for me it was a horrible experience! My original doctor there and the doctor that did my cataracts surgery on both eyes was Dr Derek Ohlstein. Since I make my living online I paid many thousands of dollars extra on top of the regular surgery cost to have multi-focal lenses implanted into my eyes because I was assured by Dr Ohlstein that with these lenses I would be able to see well at both distances for driving while also being able to read normal small type fonts both online and in reading materials such as in books, magazines and on labels. All Without Glasses! This is the bottom line! During the surgery the FEMTO laser that they used to cut loose my eyes lenses, misfired or was not set properly as it left my right eye with a permanent blur spot in my field of vision. Also both implant lenses were the wrong prescription because I now have to wear glasses all of the time to be able to read normal small print both online, while reading books, magazines and on labels. I can see distances ok but its even better with the glasses on. Dr Channon the senior doctor took over and tried what I feel was his absolute best to improve my vision with stents and a YAG laser surgery. I appreciate Dr Channon's attempts to help better my vision but it simply did not help. This is when the practice gave me a pair of glasses and told me that this is the best they could do. They also offered me $1,600.00 back that equaled the cost of the screwed up FEMTO laser treatment for one eye! (My Right Eye) However they said that if I accepted the money I would have to sign Hold Harmless agreements and a Disparagement release so I could not litigate Saint Lucie Eye Associates or tell this story! Needless to say I refused the money! I am now left with poor vision that impairs my ability to work online and often gives me headaches because its still a strain to read even with the glasses on. No amount of money can buy back my now screwed up vision and how my ongoing poor vision makes me feel every single day! These are the reasons I am not happy with my experience with Saint Lucie Eye Associates. read more

I have eye issues and have gone to St. Lucie Eye for 12 years. I have been very pleased. I had cataract surgery in both eyes, one with Dr. Channing and one with Dr. Rana. I really like the staff there and have good results. read more

Worst company ever don't not go there...don't keep appointment. No communication between the two locations. Willing to let business walk out the door rude and unwilling to help. Total joke. read more

Dr. Channon just removed cataracts in both eyes and what a difference it made. Dr. Channon is highly professional and cares about his patients. His office staff is professional and most helpful. I think the Dr. is good and the girls in the office are great....however you have to wait forever for your appointment once you arrive, which is not acceptable to me no matter how good the Dr is. I will never go back once my second surgery is done and I wont recommend anyone because of the horrendous wait time.Ive been there 3 times and the wait is just ridiculous. read more
