I feel obligated to share my experience so others can make informed decisions…read more I went to Sterling Health Care feeling very ill and specifically requested a rapid strep test because I believed I had an infection. Before I even saw the provider, the nurse took thorough notes documenting all of my symptoms, including that I had experienced a fever as high as 103°F. Despite that information, the provider repeatedly suggested my symptoms were "just allergies." He did not examine my ears, did not listen to my heart or lungs, and did not perform what I would consider a thorough physical examination. I had to insist that a throat culture be sent because I didn't feel my concerns were being taken seriously. Two days later, I learned that I was positive for Influenza A. Because I continued to get worse, I sought care from another urgent care provider. During that visit, I received a comprehensive examination and was immediately diagnosed with a massive ear infection and bacterial conjunctivitis, conditions that had been completely missed during my visit to Sterling Health Care. I was finally started on the appropriate treatment. And despite it all, Sterling insisted that I follow their antibiotic treatment over the other urgent care's treatment. I informed Sterling that I didn't trust them with my healthcare at that point. I understand that not every illness can be diagnosed immediately and that medicine is not perfect. My concern is not that the initial diagnosis was wrong. My concern is that the evaluation felt incomplete from the beginning. Patients deserve to be heard, thoroughly examined, and have their symptoms considered before being told they're dealing with allergies. And despite me telling the provider I had just returned from a trip to NYC, he was still insistent that it was allergies. I hope Sterling Health Care uses this as an opportunity to reinforce the importance of listening to patients, reviewing nursing documentation, and performing complete examinations. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this clinic.

This review is specifically for Dr. Bridges. She's awesome!…read more It's so nice be listened to, heard and given the courtesy of direct and clear replies to questions. Spine surgery is a big deal. I've had two consults before where the doctors pretty much said "here's what you need" and then just expected me to do it without questions, research and serious consideration. Dr. Bridges is the opposite. She flat-out said high risk, gave me real numbers on complication rates, discussed options even if it wasn't in her wheelhouse and referred me to someone who specializes in an option I want to explore. No detectable ego which makes her more credible in my eyes. I'm well aware weight is always a factor in surgeries and since my colon resection and the unexpected consequence of the high carb post op diet, I'm all too aware of my current size. i don't sugar coat it. She doesn't sugar coat it. Need to keep this stuff real. She wasn't rude, just matter of fact. I really appreciate that. Quick digression: She told me that because I would be face-down during surgery and I've got a bigger belly than usual, that pushes all the blood up towards the spine and can make me bleed more. I hadn't even thought about that. Only airway and anesthesia. Makes sense but I never even thought of it. So, I left with an X-ray order for both hips since my recent trip to the ER it's unclear if I had severe hip pain because there's something wrong with my hip or if it's an extension of the spine problem. (duh, wonder why ER didn't do that?) Also got referral to a doctor who specializes in an option that I researched to see if it's even viable for my injury AND a referral to Salt Lake because they have more advanced equipment to handle how complicated this is and I might need to go out of town. If I have to go to Salt Lake, I wish Dr. Bridges could go too and make sure some jackass doesn't get stupid on me. I have pretty much had my fill of doctors and trust is hard to come by.

I would be sure to ask about pricing before you go the this ER. 1300 charge, just to go to the ER…read morefor a wrist injury, not including the nearly 2000 dollars for 2 X-rays. No doctors, all physicians' assistants, at the ER!Started at urgent care, but the nurse was in charge of taking the X-rays. The nurse expressed concern about being able to get the X-rays done. Okay, you're clearly not trained to do this role. Instead of focusing on saving money by having lower skilled employees doing the job, give quality care, with appropriate staff. I never would have gone to the ER if the urgent care staff was appropriately staffed, with an X Ray technician. I didn't want to have my family member endure extra pain, and additional X-rays, if the nurse couldn't correctly take the X-rays. Clearly an administrative problem. Staff was kind. I'm hoping they do the right thing and adjust the charges. Any charge should be attached to a service provided, not just you went to the ER and saw a Physician's assistant for less than 10 minutes. Ridiculous! Make it right, St. Al's.

So, it was nice to have a 5 minute drive to my appointment since this office is down the road from me. The receptionist here is so nice! The downtown location should take a couple lessons from the Eagle location. The receptionist smiled at me. She was kind asking me my general check in questions. She had personality. These basic skills are lacked in 90% of the people who work in registration downtown. If I can have all my appointments here, I would. I hung out in the waiting area till it was my turn. Zach, the imaging tech called me back to the scanning room. He went through the process of the scan with me and guided on how my properly lay on the scan machine. He had me position my legs differently for a couple scans. And before I knew it, I was done. It was quite an easy process which was nice. My other appointments require getting poked at. The Eagle office is night and day compared to Downtown. They are so nice here. It's a smaller facility with an Urgent Care unit which is nice for non emergency visits. It bums me out that I have to deal with the rude receptionists and security check in staff when I'm Downtown. But it was nice to see how the other half are treated at this location. I will have to get more appointments fulfilled here. I leave happy which is nice.

I went in days before my appointment missed my appointment. Stephanie Dr Crownovers RN saw me. The next time they spoke she told him how I wasn't acting right, my skin color was not good, I was glassy eyed. He said called him and get him in here. That busy people would take time out of their day to be concerned about someone that most practices would consider just another patient amazes me. The story gets better, I went in and Dr Crownover did blood tests in house. Who has a lab in their Practice TV Medicine does. In a short time He told me to go to a certain place because they work with my insurance better and cost less. He was truly concerned about me from my health to finances. About 30 minutes later getting a CT scan. Dr Crownover himself calls me and tells me that someone needs to take me to the hospital. At the hospital I am told that I may not survive. I had a mess in my liver that was over 30cm in diameter. It had filled my body with ammonia I was in trouble. The hospital did a good job of helping me get my health turned around. I was sent home after the hospital had told me that their home care manager had set up everything and I was good to go home and people would be calling and setting up taking care of my home care needs. About a week later and no one has called I have no idea who to call. My wife called and Spoke with Michaela and Stephanie. They have stepped in and taken such good care of me. I have no words to say thank you big enough. Other than to say you have saved my life.

I came to this location last year for my flu shot as well, and both times were very easy. They already had my records and my insurance was current. They did not have to collect a co-pay so check-in was a breeze. There was two other people waiting and they were called back quickly. I waited about 7-8 minutes. The waiting room is a very typical set-up. Uncomfortable (but nice and wide) chairs, a random cooking show on the TV and an assortment of magazines. My oldest kiddo accompanied me (for hand holding during the shot, of course) and she was pretty jazzed about the double water fountain. So there you go. A very nice nurse took me in back and the whole thing lasted about 30 seconds! :) I prefer to get my flu shot from a nurse, rather than at the pharmacy and I've had great experiences at PH!
