SSM Health Urgent Care advertises itself as an alternative to the ER for non-emergency conditions…read more That is exactly why my family chose this location. Instead, a fishhook removal and a separate strep throat visit resulted in hundreds of dollars in unexpected patient responsibility. After spending hours on the phone, both of our insurance companies ultimately agreed to reprocess the claims due to concerns about how the visits were categorized and processed. What is most frustrating is the disconnect between what patients are told and what happens after the visit. When people see "Urgent Care" on the building, they reasonably expect urgent care treatment and urgent care billing. Patients should not have to act as middlemen between billing departments and insurance companies to determine why a routine urgent care visit was processed in a way that generated emergency-room-level copays. I encourage anyone considering this location to verify exactly how their visit will be billed and processed by their insurance before seeking care. Transparency matters, especially when families are making healthcare decisions based on cost. The providers and staff we dealt with were compassionate and professional, however something needs to be done about the billing department.

Later was billed as an emergency room visit and my bill states I was at the ER at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton. I have been fighting with them, filed a grievance with my insurance, and filed a complaint with the MO Attorney General.

Today's visit started out great. They saved my spot and when it was my turn, they got me into a…read moreroom right away. An EMT came in to check the concern I had about my right shin. His comments gave me confidence that my concern was minimal. He said one of the providers would come in to confirm his thoughts. Fifty minutes went by and I could hear one loud voice and others laughing. This went on until it became clear that no one was getting close to coming in check me out, so I chose to leave. I was greeted after a few steps by the person who was obviously the doctor and leader of the "party" outside my door. He asked if I was leaving. I said I've waiting an hour with no action, so I was going to leave. He told me 'there are other patients, too'. He wasn't taking care of them either. He was rude and condescending and I couldn't leave fast enough. I have counted on this location many times before with much better treatment. Do Better.

I used to love this place. There is one provider who I still love, but when my kids or I don't get…read moreto see her, it's marginal at best. My last visit, however was horrendous. I have an MRI confirmed labral tear plus impingement in my hip. I also have hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, among other things, which makes my joints unstable and pop out of place, plus puts me at a much greater risk for injury. While trying to step on the leg with the labral tear, the leg collapsed, causing my hip to sublux, my knee collapsed and jerked sideways with my kneecap shifting one way and my femor going the other. It hurt like hell and both joints swelled and became discolored. I tried to nurse it at home because females with pain, especially chronic pain are treated like sh*t at ERs and UCs. Even with taking the Norco I already had at home, the pain got worse so I couldn't sleep or walk and I had a big flare up of migraine and occipital neuralgia. I was in so much pain from all of these things, so I finally decided to go to TAUC because I knew they could do imaging to check for worsened/additional injuries, and knowing I had an MRI confirmed tear in my hip labrum (among other issues) so they couldn't try to tell me there was nothing wrong. I was mistaken. Dr. DeLucia was hostile the minute he walked into the room, asking "Why are you here? What do you expect me to do? I'm not giving you any meds." I calmly explained that I had a tear in my left hip and that I was concerned that I worsened the existing injury and also injured my knee. I explained that I even took the Norco that I had at home, but when it didn't help like it normally did, it made me wondered if I caused further injury. I tried to pull up the MRI report confirming the labral tear and he said, "I don't need to see it, it doesn't matter." He walked over, sharply jerked my hip & knee back and forth and the pain was so severe that I shrieked and tried to jump off the table to get away. He said, "Other than the pain you claim you have, there is nothing that indicates any issue." He ordered zero imaging to back that claim up, didn't even raise my pant leg to see the swelling and discoloration. He asked why I didn't just go to my PCP (It was the weekend) he challenged my allergy to steroids that was diagnosed by my Dr after anaphylactic symptoms, plus they are contraindicated in patients who have my health issues, and told me that "if I thought I really had pain I should see a pain management dr. When I told him that I DID have a pain management Dr, he goes, "Oh yeah? Who?" and after I told him the name, he says, "Hmmm, that's funny that I have never heard of him." He walked out saying there was nothing he could do for me. And the biggest problem was when he flat out lied in my chart and said, "Patient asked for Norco by name." I absolutely did NOT, I told him multiple times that I had it at home and had been taking it at home and only came in because it was less effective than usual, making me wonder if I had worsened my existing hip injury as well as causing new injury to my knee. Dr. DeLucia was hostile, careless, spiteful, and FLAT OUT LIED in my chart. Honestly, he's lucky that a bad review is the only action I decided to take after that visit.

This is an excellent urgent care facility…read more The speed of service, the friendliness of all the healthcare professionals, the cleanliness of the facility, and the quality of care was top notch. The only negative thing was that the radiology tech did not give me a lead apron to wear, as I assisted my child in the patient X ray room. I had to hold his broken arm in the exam room, as the radiology tech took two X rays from an enclosed room. My son was wearing a lead apron, but I was not offered one. Scattered radiation is not a joke. As a parent assisting a patient in the X ray room, I should have been protected, too. Not only was this unprofessional, but this is a safety violation, too. Thank God I was not pregnant. Aside from that, this urgent care facility is still an excellent one-stop-shop for an urgent medical need that does not require an ER visit We were seen right away, we were checked in with no issues, we had minimal forms to fill out, we received an X ray and a CD for the X ray, a prompt dose of pain medication delivered upon request, and at the end of the visit, I received an itemized receipt, a print out describing the diagnosis, and follow up recommendations, just like in a standard ER visit, for a fraction of the cost. And the friendliness of the staff could not be beat. All of the 6 different healthcare professionals I met with that day - every single person - was super nice. And he / she was responsive to any questions and concerns I had. Everyone was friendly. Thanks Yelps!

They claimed HIPPA laws prevent this! To my own MD? My MD office had to call them, then FAX was sent. Someone there appears to be confused about what HIPPA laws mean. The urine test was not complete. Bladder infection diagnosed. I asked what bacteria was present and was told they don't know because no culture was done. Why? What was my account charged for if you do not know? Meds prescribed were ineffective ($30) and testing had to be repeated a week later. I would not go back to this urgent care.

The team just hangs out chatting and laughing instead of seeing patients. As you can hear while sitting in the waiting room and in the room. You spend just as much time at this urgent care as you would the hospital. it is ignorant, they need someone there who will make everyone do their job. Look at the reviews!! When I asked if my temperature had been taken, she insisted it had -- even though the staff member before her never checked it. I am 60 years old and certainly know what having your temperature taken involves. She left the room, came back with a thermometer, quickly scanned my forehead, and told me I didn't have a fever. When I asked if my symptoms could be sinus-related, she immediately said no without even examining my throat or nose. When I mentioned that I didn't appreciate her implying I was lying about my temperature not being checked, she said it was written down in my chart -- which honestly made the situation worse. Accurate charting should be a priority. I left feeling unheard and disrespected. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this provider
