This is the best Catholic Church I've been to in a while. The parking lot is huge, they have a great kids section in the church and the church itself is huge with lots of seating. We went to their Easter event for the first time and it was so pleasant. They had vendors and a free Easter egg hunt with crafts and games to win prizes. After Covid I switched from the Catholic Church to Center Point Christian Church. Today was my first time back and not sure if I would return. I could tell that the priest was new. He was a bit nervous, but phenomenal. He is exactly what the Catholic Church needs!! Especially for the younger generation to continue coming. I was observing and noticed that 70% are older adults over maybe 60. I did not see very many young adults as I do at the Christian church. The kids and young adults are so involved at the christian church and you could feel their strong faith in God. The Catholic church has been so traditional for so long that I see younger adults leaving. There's no sense of community here. It's been 3 years since covid and people are still afraid to shake your hand or say hello. I felt like an outcast and looked at like I was crazy when offering a handshake or smile. Having faith is not living in fear. read more

St. Martha is a lovely modern Catholic church in Murrieta, CA. I am not a parishioner here, but our friends are regulars here. They have no complaints regarding masses or ceremonies. The church is quite large. Although there is plenty of seating, it was still standing room only during the 11 am Sunday mass we attended. There are tons of parking available. I was surprised to see a beautiful pipe organ inside. No often that you find that in a newer Catholic Church. The church was dedicated on May 19, 2013. If I lived close by, I am certain we would be parishioners at St. Martha. As it is, I am a fan. Based on this one visit, I see no reason to give them less than 5 stars. read more

In spite of all the one star reviews and my past negative experience here, I am going to attend mass today. I am going because I am Catholic. I have decided that I can't let the staff govern how I lead my religious life. God would want us to live our lives with Sunday morning worship. It's Lent. I have forgiven and want to move forward. Happy Sunday! My Son was married here 9 months ago. He had a perfect ceremony. There is still good here. ps My Husband and I attended the 11 am mass. It was crowded just like I remember. Surprisingly, I didn't enjoy St Martha's. The celebrant priest, a former Anglican priest, spent 90% of his sermon bashing on Anglicanism. Not exactly what one wants to hear on Sunday. Additionally, the layout is really crowded. The celebrants aren't elevated, but you cannot really see what is going in. Difficult to focus on the cross. Choir didn't sound good. If you like to worship with A LOT of South east Asians, this is the church for you. Most of them keep to themselves. Are unwelcoming. read more

My family and I moved here a few months ago and finally found our Catholic Church. We've come here a few times and really enjoy the mass. It's very traditional when you attend the AM services. The evening services is a mixture of traditional catholic and Christian based. Nothing wrong with it but we grew up more traditional so that's our preference. I came here to my girlfriends wedding and it is beautiful! the place and the grounds are amazing. The grounds were very green and lush with many areas to park. The outer aesthetics hide how huge this place is on the inside. With the vaulted ceilings and stone work through out this place was gorgeous, now I know why my friend chose to get married here. Much more beautiful and Catholic in appearance than St. Catherine's (which doesn't say much), but just as many liturgical abuses abound. The Novus Ordo Mass (the Mass in vernacular/English) continues to descend to the depths of despair (if you love The Catholic Faith then it is torture to sit through these Masses). Fortunately, a new Catholic Church has just opened here in Murrieta. Holy Martyrs is everything St. Martha's and St. Catherine's are not. Reverence, orthodoxy, and modesty are the norm. If you want your children to remain Catholic then go there. read more

St. Martha Catholic Church is a gorgeous church with absolutely stunning dark wood beamed ceilings. The long and beautiful aisle is picturesque and breathtaking. The St. Martha's staff is accommodating, helpful, and caring. Carol, the Coordinator of Pastoral Care, made the planning process simple and enjoyable, and Maria, the wedding coordinator was great at keeping us on time and kept things running smoothly at the rehearsal and on the wedding day. I have only heard good things about St. Martha's. My aunt and her family attend often and I have been a few times for baptisms/first communion etc. Anyways, my husband and I want to validate our wedding and will be moving from Orange County to Murrieta (St. Martha's was the church I had in mind since the reception would also be out there.) We currently have been planning our validation, baptism for daughter and my Confirmation with another Catholic Church in south OC. So, I finally get a call back from St. Martha's and I'm told I need to register and they are only accepting applications from Murrieta residents. We own land so that's not the big problem. She then proceeds to tell me after I've been registered for 6 months was told only needed to be registered 3 months a couple days ago) they will call me and we can start to talk about validating. They will then look to see how much we have financially invested in the church before they decide if we can be validated there!!!! We are a new couple and just had our first child! Church isn't suppose to be about how much money you can give! Sorry for the long rant! I'm so upset. We won't be validating, attending or recommending St. Martha's for ANYTHING!! Love MY church and the parishioners! Since getting involved several years ago in the youth ministry, God has led me along several other paths in this church. I have never felt more alive in faith and in the sisterhood that Jesus has led me to. The very fact that we have all of the Saints praying along with us is so comforting, and a big part of "why" I am Catholic. We have been parishioners at St. Martha's for about a year. I have 4 small children and my husband is not a practicing Catholic. We attended other Catholic churches in the area and we finally found a home here. The church itself is child and family friendly (no cry room). The priests are warm and the homilies are long but informative. The parishioners are welcoming and friendly, even helpful when I've got my hands full. My oldest is currently in the first Reconciliation class. At first it is hard to understand why everything in the parish takes so much time and money but with 6000 families they are just trying to cover costs and make sure parents are involved and invested in the sacramental prep process. Now I love it! Highly recommend this parish. read more

The Easter Vigil Mass at St. Martha's was absolutely wonderful this year! The choir did a spectacular job, utilizing piano, organ, and brass accompaniment which added to the beauty of the selected hymns (which were also, by the way, very well selected!). The Vigil Mass is always the high point of the Catholic liturgical year, and this one was no exception; to start with an absolutely darkened church and, candle by candle, fill it with brilliant light is always a beautiful and awesome sight. Many catechumens baptized and brought into the church this evening as well, as is the custom for the Easter Vigil Mass. Glad I got there an hour early, as the church was packed; and that was also wonderful to see! read more

Regarding Counrtney: I sincerely hope that St. Martha's would not inhibit your daughter being baptized unless financial investment was made. If that is the case, a letter and phone call to the San Bernardino Diocese most definitely is in order. The pastor is in deep error. I have lived in different parishes, (I am now in St. Vincent Ferrer's in Menifee CA next to st Martha's) and I and other St. Vincent parishioners have attented Mass there. I have never heard of a pastor or parish refusing an infant or an adult to be administered the sacrament of Holy Baptism unless they were paid up. I think St Martha's is a fairly well-off parish compared to many others. It seems to me that there is something spiritually disturbing with this parish insisting in being "paid up" for anything. I would discern that there is a spirit there that is very non-Christ like and non-Catholic. To me it is a red flag. I am not a big fan of St Martha's: I am an older adult and prefer Masses that are reverent and sacramental. I attended the Youth Mass on Sunday evening and found the drums and loud guitar music very irreverent. I understand a church wanting to attract youth, but it was sad to see teens popping the host into their mouths like it was an M&M. But, irregardless, I don't think any Catholic church can refuse a Baptism for lack of payments, if this is the case. I think the family would need to be registered with the parish the child would be baptized in, but lack of money? read more

Hello Bros and Sisters, I fully understand some of the negative comments provided. I too have experienced that, there times that I don't even understand what is being said. What has helped me overcome this is that realizing that we go to church because of our faith, not just because of the priest's sermon, staff or facility. I have attended masses in many countries, ships and other uncomfortable areas, but one remains the same is our faith to God. One quote that have stucked in my head from one of the priests in the past was "Happiness is wanting what you have, not needing what you want." I am just a regular dude with many mistakes in life, but this church gives me the sanctuary I need to help me pray and hopefully correct them... I love the Blessed Sacrament in the back. It is so solemn and the grotto of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Please don't give up with some or few negatives. There are other Catholic churches near by if you really don't enjoy attending mass at this church. God Bless. read more

First time coming to this parish. I'm not sure who the priest was but apparently he's a professor and academic because he mentioned it 10 times during his homily. No depth at all . The choir is b-o-r-i-n-g. Although they sounded lovely. This church is the reason most kids leave the church when they graduate H.S and most Catholics have gone the way of the culture. So sad. I have been a parishioner for over 3 years and this is a beautiful House of God. It is a young Church with a huge number of families and also for those who are unable to worship Our Lord with their family. Father Jack has a tremendous amount of responsibility performing his duties as a priest. A Church this size is not easy to manage but somehow he does it. Thank you Lord for giving us this Priest. When you come to Mass come early not only to find a seat but also to be in the presence and to enjoy and pray in this beautiful and peaceful house of the Father, Jesus, and the Lord and giver of life. read more
