The Alba house is a very nice experience. The prices like all things have gone up exponentially. The staff is friendly. I was floored with some of the prices for such inferior quality materials. Please buy at your own risk. Now, for my experience. I bought these overpriced rosaries(3). To give out. I did not notice the inverted crosses. This is a lovely, serene place where you can find Catholic items such as books, statues, jewelry etc. About 5 years ago I purchased an outdoor statue of St. Francis to place in my garden. Each spring it gets a power washing & looks brand new. Over the years I have purchased many gifts here as we'll as items for my own personal use. If you are in the neighborhood, stop in. Been going there for over 20 yrs. New management. Prices are now doubled especially on vestments and they don't even do embroidery with deceased name. Mostly cards and books now... My mom recently returned for a wooden wall rosary which was on display behind old register on wall it was under $75 now $125....guess the writing is on the wall read more

I cannot say that I've been to the bookstore, but the area in the back is truly a surreal place. It's a small garden - like chapel filled with candles that you may light. My friend dragged me there once at about 1am (it's open to all prayer 24 hours a day) to pray for a deceased family member and I fell in love with it. The statue of the virgin Mary is breath taking. I now visit regularly. I will visit the bookstore one day. They truly seem like they must be amazing people to set up that little area. read more

I have not been to the book store but I do love and adore the prayer garden in the back of the book store, its a great place for prayer, serenity, and just some peace. They have candles you can light up which is awesome because I hear most of the churches now have electronic candles which is not the same as when you get to light them up yourself, I like the old school way, make sure you make donations please please! $1.00 will not kill you to flame up your candle! Its the right thing, plus I don't know who has the nerve to do that at a place of worship and saints all around you! Anyways I don't wanna take off the happiness and peaceful place this is and great for those who just want a time for themselves to pray or just feel at peace by themselves for a little and its open all times of the day for the public as long as we take good care of it!
