From start to finish, everything was well organized and ran smoothly. We ended up with Kevin as our guide through The Baths, and he was outstanding. He knew the history of the islands, pointed out landmarks along the way, and explained how the giant granite boulders at The Baths were formed. You could tell he really enjoys what he does, and it made the experience so much more interesting. The rest of the crew--Brendan, Brian, and Robin (with a Y)--were just as great. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and always making sure guests had what they needed. The boat was clean and comfortable, the open bar was a nice bonus, and the whole day felt relaxed without ever feeling unorganized. This trip was absolutely worth the money. If you're visiting St. Thomas and want to see the British Virgin Islands, I wouldn't hesitate to book with Stormy Pirates again.

Additionally, the liability paperwork was quite lengthy, which further reduced our active water time. While I fully appreciate that educational commentary enriches the experience, I respectfully noted that a substantial amount of this information could have been effectively shared during transit (such as the 20-minute ride out) or consolidated into concise visual aids and summary boards upon arrival. Regarding the itinerary, our group had specifically requested a few nearby beaches located only 5 to 10 minutes further along. Although we understood that ours was a smaller group of eight on a partial-day charter, we were instead taken to alternative locations. When we inquired about visiting the requested spots, we were advised that time did not permit it. With all due respect, it seemed that the time allocated to the extended dockside presentations could have been reallocated to accommodate those short transits, allowing us to experience the more desirable locations without compromising the overall schedule. To optimize the guest experience, I would respectfully suggest that operators consider the following adjustments: deliver essential safety and educational briefings while the boat is en route, or in a pre-made video during their liability waiver signing, post succinct instructional boards for quick reference, and prioritize the top two or three premier snorkeling spots at St Johns from the outset of the trip, reserving secondary stops for the return leg. These small but meaningful changes would not only maximize time in the water but also ensure that all guests feel their preferences are genuinely heard and respected. Ultimately, streamlining the logistics and trusting that guests can absorb information efficiently would go a long way toward making an already pleasant charter a truly outstanding and memorable one.

The most guests they take per outing is 12 and our group totaled 9- it was so nice to not have an overcrowded boat filled with people and you wait to get into the water for so long. Not with our group- we quickly were able to get snorkel gear and head into the water to see some really cool groupings of coral and fish along with a turtle at the first spot that swam within ONE foot of me. We even saw Barry the barracuda situated under our boat. Remember though- you should NEVER REACH OUT AND TOUCH AQUATIC LIFE OF ANY KIND just because you want to and are curious. You do not have permission to handle, touch, or step on anything! We got some amazing video using our water proof phone cases. Book with Joe and Catie- you absolutely will NOT regret it! Their pick up site was just a short walk away from where we got off the ship. Our family of 11 were the only people on board and the price was less than if we had booked from the excursion choices. We had a personalized cruise with Catie and Captain Joe. They felt going to Water Island off of Honeymoon Beach would give us a great first snorkel experience for our grandkids, as there are so many turtles there. They were correct! Turtles galore, plus Eagle Rays, remora fish, a box fish and many smaller fish were seen. We snorkel often and loved it just as much as our family. We had the Moana soundtrack playing while having snacks and drinks, got plenty of pictures, and snorkeled in and out of the boat for hours. Book this 1/2 day months ahead to make sure to get a spot. You will not be disappointed.

We booked a private charter for a group of 7 and Sonic charters gave us the best day on the island…read more The captain gave us some suggestions for a snorkeling excursion and took us to some of his hidden gems. We stopped by a beach for lunch and did some sight seeing with caves where he told us some stories about the attractions. The level of accommodation was also stellar as he was able to be flexible with our needs. Some of our friends were sea sick and requested to be dropped off a beach to relax and picked up later. The captain planned our day around that and helped to keep time of when we would go pick up our friends. The coral reefs were so vibrant and we saw so many fishes in the ocean. The captain made us feel safe that he has our back in case we swayed too far from the boat or needed help. I am not a swimmer but the boat had noodles and life jackets that he did not mind taking out and putting away as we went about our day. I appreciated how respectful the captain was about the island and the rules implemented such as reef safe sunscreens, no touching the turtles and so on. We had a great time and learned a thing or two! Towards the end of the trip a friend realized he had forgotten something on the boat and sonic charters helped us locate the boat and captain to retrieve it. Coming from nyc, it would have been long gone but glad we got it back. We had a great time, I would recommend them for anyone visiting and want their own boat to get away from the crowds.

AND, if you are in a group of like 6 or more, it's so worth it - you are on your own schedule and un-rushed. We did a full day + an additional hour in the BVI. HIGHLY Recommend the additional hour if you are going to do the Bathes - it's an hour to get out there! But it was worth it - a really fun hike down and just beautiful water - if you aren't trying to do too much in the day you could definitely negotiate spending more time exploring here. Captain Greg was great (we were an older group so we probably were a little boring ) but he told us about the various locations, made recommendations and found us some secluded snorkeling spots after lunch. It was THE BEST DAY in the Virgin Islands, just island hopping around and being on the open water. Very friendly, very knowledgeable - he had a bunch of dining and bar recommendations too! It's no frills and the boat isn't the newest one out there - but it's a great value!!! I hope it stays that way - it's a family run business so that probably helps, but most other charters charge you 50+ per guest over 6 and they are already pricier than Bad Kitty. Bad Kitty only charges you after 8. They also don't charge you more for going out to the Bathes - I did a lot of comparisons and some will up the charge to go that far out and that doesn't even include gas! So this was really a great deal for a nice boat with plenty of shade, a wet bar for mixing drinks, plenty of snorkeling gear and noodles and some nice upgrades if you want food and drinks, but they also offer ice and a cooler if you bring your own I can't say enough good things, it was a really great experience and a great way to see some of the BVI without being herded around in a large group Some things to consider for private charters: - All charge a customs fee to go to the BVI: I saw some as low as $75 and some as high as $90 pp - I think this has to do something with what BVI charges charters each year to enter their waters, but this is not unusual and many will ask for your passports up front. If you don't want to bother with that, stay in the USVI for the day - you will still be able to get to some cool spots! - All charters do expect gratuity for the Captain - standard is 20% gratuity (I suppose you don't have to give that much, but gee... they hang out with you all day, get you to some hard to reach spots and make sure you are back through US customs before they close at 5 so you aren't stranded! So you better have a good reason not to give 20% ) - You are also responsible for the gas - the further out you go, the more expensive this will be. It was $294 for our day out to the Bathes, then to Norman Island for lunch and a few snorkeling spots (but that is going to be based on the volatile price of gas at the moment - SO DO NOT quote me on that). When I talked to the woman who helped me with the booking, she was able to give me estimates based on where we thought we wanted to go - which was helpful for budgeting :) All-in-all - I can't recommend them enough!! I plan to be back in the USVI again next year and will be looking these guys up again! And thanks again Captain Greg for a truly wonderful, memorable day!!!

From swimming in crystal-clear waters to relaxing on pristine beaches, it truly made for a memorable day. Despite the longer wait at BVI customs, it went off without a hitch. The crew--apart from one exception--was friendly, engaging, and attentive. They made sure everyone was safe, comfortable, and having fun. The drinks were flowing, the music set a great tone, and the overall vibe was relaxed yet professional. That said, I would be remiss not to mention the demeanor of Captain Jeremy. While clearly knowledgeable about the boat and the route, his tone throughout the day felt unnecessarily condescending and dismissive, I mean this guy is all business. What could have been light-hearted banter often came off as dismissive or patronizing, which slightly dulled the otherwise positive energy aboard. Despite that hiccup, the Bad Kitty experience was still enjoyable, and I would recommend it to others--with the caveat to manage expectations around the captain's communication style. A bit more warmth and respect from the helm would go a long way toward making this a five-star excursion.

I cannot say enough about our Captain Dusty. He was incredible! He took us to the Baths, Willy T and the Indians. Jumped off the top of Willy T for hours and that Crispy Chicken sandwich was amazing! Great snorkeling, great lunch and Captain's good company. Dusty kept our two 12 YO boys happy by speeding over the waves and lifting them off their seats. He also let them experience actually driving the boat all the way down the channel (under his supervision of course). Made both of them feel like they were the Captains for the day. While sightseeing was fun and the general island vibe was noteworthy, the most memorable part of my experience was all thanks to Good Day Charters. The Captain and his crew were very knowledgeable and entertaining. They really cater to what you want to get out of the trip. I was a snorkeling "virgin" and Dusty was very patient helping me to figure out how to get everything on correctly and even gave me some pointers on how to swim deeper and see all the fascinating wildlife underwater. The staff was great at navigating the waters and getting us up close to the action... and keeping us fed and hydrated when we weren't floating with the fishies.
