The prices are nuts. They charge around $10 and up for clothes that they got for free. We checked out their media and their movies were even pricey. If they're Disney movies they're even more expensive, which there wasn't a sign that said that at all. I wanted to love this place, but it was a hard no. The manager was rude also. read more

My wife and I swing by this thrift store any time we are near. It's sells a bit of everything and unlike some of the much bigger competitors (savers, goodwill) this one feels much cleaner and less hectic inside. I usually browse the books, comics, vhs, and dvds. The selection is pretty great and it's pretty cheap ($1-$2). They also sell records -- the good ones are up front and cost more and the cheap ones in the back ... well I'm not so sure how worthwhile it would be to dig through them. I do feel they price the furniture too high as well as some other odds and ends but that's okay -- I come for the media. read more

Large, pleasant thrift with lots of furniture, a good housewares section, and extensive clothing selection. Clothing is organized by color, not size, and the racks are jammed full, so finding treasures that fit requires patience and stamina. read more

This review is solely based off of my drop off experience... We normally do donations to Goodwill but they're maxed on space so we tried St. Vincent instead. Their donation system is great. Pulled into the parking lot, signs are clear on what to do & someone was waiting to help me unload my stuff. Goodwill has never been that helpful or that organized. Victor, the manager, keeps the store nice and tidy. I like how the clothing is organized by style, color and size. I have found a lot of gems here over the year from stores including Zara, H&M and Mango. I also get lucky every once in a while and find vintage accessories. In my opinion, St. Vincent de Paul has the best shoe selection of all Tri-Valley thrift stores. My only request is that they be less picky with choosing items for the store so that it can be fully stocked at all times. I only go in about once a month or so to make sure I see new merchandise. They have some good furniture options and they provide help loading into your vehicle. I LOVED how much furniture they had! I wish I lived near by and had a uhaul! The people working were nice and helpful. I purchased and $8 Addidas jacket/sweater and a few $1 tshirts and a pair of toddler girl shoes. I would visit again if I'm in town. read more

I just tried to stop by to drop off a box of books for donation and the young attendant basically yelled at me to read the signs and was extremely rude. After our yard sale we piled everything back up into boxes and loaded in the the truck and hauled it all down here. Don't look back just take it and donate it. You will literally feel your house get lighter. They are so awesome down here. The guys help you unload everything. I saw a bin for electronics, for furniture and then big containers they could load with whatever else. Unfortunately they don't take toys or Baby bathtubs either. Something about sanitary issues. Which my mom and I are still not understanding. Shes told me that you have to hide any toys you might have inside other things so the guys wont find them. Their furniture is all 50% on Saturday and from what my mom says most of her apartment was furnished by the sales they have here. The Saturday we came I was way to tired to take a look, but took a mental note. I was just happy to unload things that I didnt need or want anymore. This is was the only dontation station in the area for a long time. Being open Saturday and having very helpful staff make it one of the best. read more

St. Vincent De Paul is a bit disorganized but they had signs posted for books: -hardcover/best sellers (2) -other hardcover (1.5) -papaerbacks .75 everyday had a "specials" day - sunday was 25% off on books buys: -the price of loyalty (2-.50=1.5) -thearsus (.75- -self matters companion =1.5 cashing out: -during the calculating of the book price, i got disorientated and questioned the cashier's math. -cashier asked me to raise hands over my head and wave them, i did -she asked me to repeat a complete sentence. i did -she told me this was a test to determine if i had a stroke. -i passed the test, proving i didn't have a stroke -i explained it was probably some msg in the food i just ate, just hit me all at once. read more

Bought a solid wood dresser for our daughters nursery for $70 and a solid wood dresser set for our room for $140, then painted them both. I must say I don't like to give one-star reviews, but this place isn't very good as far as thrift stores go. I like a good deal on CD's and books more than the next person, but a lot of their other merchandise seems over-priced and very, very used. Although I'm aware they mainly rely on donations, St. Vincent De Paul's needs to reevaluate their pricing scheme. I can't possibly imagine who would buy a faded tanktop from Target (2007, since I bought the exact same one from Target when it was new for the EXACT same price) for $7. The clothes are in horrendous condition and are very dated in appearance. Not my go-to for stores, but I will definitely consider coming back if I need a new read, or some new music. read more

The woman's clothes selection is fantastic and for the most part very well priced. There are a few items here and there that are overpriced, as is the case with any thrift store. But it is priced by item type, so you can get a steal of a deal. All summer dresses are $9 for example - no matter the label. So you can get great items by designer brands for cheap. I have been saving up books that we would normally donate to the library but can't due to COVID. Had 10 bags full and the gentleman in the store on 2nd St. In Livermore was so helpful - agreeing to take 4 bags right then and instructed me to bring more when outside donation person returned. I went back with remainder of books the next day and the very nice, professional gentleman took my books and was very appreciative. I will be back!! read more

Consistently bad, their stock is extremely stagnant, anything remotely good that they do have is at ebay prices or higher, looks like they recently got a donation from the golden state warriors, and these crooks wanna turn around and sell used t shirts for $15-17 at a thrift store it is ridiculous, the warriors would be better off donating them straight to the community in my opinion. I tried to weed out the stuff I didn't want BEFORE I moved. But it didn't quite work out that way. I had several bags of clothes and some kitchen items to donate. Enter St. Vincent De Paul. Not the actual saint, but the charitable organization. Although, it would be cool if the for-reals St. Vincent was at the drop-off spot to take my stuff. That would be a great story to tell the ladies at the coffee klatch after mass! Make sure your stuff for donation is in good condition and clean! This is not the dumps, people.
