I called four different places for routine maintenance on my convertible and for days could not find anyone who would to help. Even called Tops of Tallahassee, a convertible specialist, who had not heard of my model vehicle and quoted over $300 (for something my dad readily does at home). Called Stadium Auto and they got me in within the hour. They let me stay while they did the maintenance for a fraction of the price in only 20 minutes. 4 stars because they put on customer bought parts. As a young 25 year old , I am attempting to do car work on mi carro. I was able to get one strut done with the help of a friend but the other side was no bueno. Luckily, they had an opening after calling 2 days out. However , I disagree with the price for the job I needed done. $175 for a loaded strut to be replaced for them to get the job done under 2 hours. This might be the price you pay for buying parts yourself and failing to complete the job at home. "It is what it is". They did tell me what also needs to be replaced so I will take their word on that. read more

Have been taking my cars here for years now. First came to these guys when my clutch broke on my 2004 Audi. Unlike the other shops in Tallahassee, they did a diagnostic and offered to replace the hydraulics instead of the entire clutch, for a few thousand dollars less. Patrick warned me that replacing only the hydraulics at the time would fix the issue, but that I would need a new clutch plate at some point in the future. I eventually did need a new clutch plate. At the time that it broke I was in New England, and took the car in to a very well-known and reputed Volkswagen/Audi specialty tuning shop. They checked the hydraulic work, and told me that they were impressed by the quality of the work done by the Stadium repair shop (formerly John's and Son), and that the problem was isolated to the clutch plate, as Patrick had previously warned me. Since then I have gone to them for countless repairs and services, for the 2004 Audi, a 2015 Hyundai, and a 2017 VW. They are always fast and professional. Mostly, I appreciate how honest they are about what repairs need to be done and how much it will cost. This has included, in the past, things such as installing parts that I had previously purchased from ECS (thinking I would install them myself), pricing out used parts, giving second opinions, and sometimes just telling me that a part is probably not worth the cost of fixing. They do charge a diagnostic fee if there is no repair, but I trust that this discourages them from adding extra work and racking up unnecessary charges. I was having problems with my Mercedes and they were able to diagnose the problem the same day. This would have been a very expensive fix but instead of taking my money, they identifies that one of the main parts having an issue had a warranty on it. They suggested I go to the Mercedes dealership to get a cheaper fix with the warranty. I am so grateful that they were so honest, kind, and helpful! I am a college student and unfamiliar with cars, so they totally could have taken advantage of me. But instead, they helped me contact Triple A and coordinate for towing, set up an appointment at the dealership, and provided me with info on the car that I needed such as the VIN ALL FREE OF CHARGE!!!! Do not use this shop! After looking at vehicle charged me a $90 diagnostic fee. They said "its your transmission, after that's replaced the hesitation will stop". If it turns out not to be transmission we'll refund the fee. Turns out nothing was wrong with transmission. Brought it back to them later when the hesitation stopped and turned into a rattle instead at same low speed. They said it was carbon buildup and asked if spark plugs were changed recently. Since they hadn't, I went ahead and had them changed. Granted, it solved the issue. However, they refused to refund the original diagnostic fee (which was a misdiagnosis). Ended up getting the work done w/them, yet another reason I shouldn't have been charged it. To top it off, found out later they overcharged me by $125 for the plugs, compared to another reputable long established local shop. read more

I got an oil change and it was pretty quick and all but when I went to change it again I was able to pop the drain plug with my hand and it was easy at that. I took a very long trip after I went there and that could have completely destroyed my engine. It only would have taken 30 seconds to put the plug back on tight with a socket wrench. From the guy at the front (who was super helpful in figuring out what kind of windshield wiper I needed, because apparently those things have sizes), to the mechanic who was super nice and not your stereotypical scruffy mean mechanic. I am from out of state and my truck decided it was gonna break down overnight...thing was I just had taken it to a mechanic who supposedly "fixed" my problem and said the sound was still there and it was due to the tire...I didn't believe that but had to keep driving due to my family emergency so I ended up parked and called many shops the next morning who didn't seem to even want to help me even though I said I was very stressed and needed help...these guys said come on in and found out it was my rear differential...showed me the metal pieces and everything and looked around for me a replacement and found one that was days away and said they planned to drop everything to get me back on the road...I also still had 4 hours of traveling left to go and so when the day came to come get my truck I ran into terrible traffic...major accident and was afraid I'd not make it on time...they told me they would wait until I was able to get to the shop which luckily I made it within 10 mins of closing...my problem was FIXED! OK so here I go.. I have a Chrysler pt cruiser and my cable line broke so I took it to this mechanic shop to have it fixed. Well it has broke on me almost every single month since they have fixed it and at one point and time I checked the line myself and saw that they had put aluminum foil on the cable wire..YES ALUMINUM FOIL. I called them back again for the 4th or 5th time now to let them know the cable wire broke AGAIN.. They told ME it is no longer under warranty and I would have to pay full price for the cable wire.. Well it should be under warranty since it's been only 6 months since the first time it broke and they SO CALLED FIXED IT .. Why the hell should I pay for something that they supposivly fixed 4 or more times already. Why isn't it fixed the first time properly and without being fixed with aluminum foil.. read more

My car would not start. I took it to my dealership and they stated that I needed a new starter and it would be close to $800 (my car is only a few years old.) I took it to John's and Son and it ended up that my car just needed a new battery. John's and Son only charged $120 for labor and a new battery and had very nice customer service. Rip off. Brought my car in to fix a broken window regulator (just the regulator, the motor was fine). Left it there in the morning and they said they would see what was up and call me back with a FREE estimate. Got a call hours later saying it was going to be around $450 for the part and 2.5hrs of labor. I thought that was a little much so I called around to get a few more estimates. Ended up deciding to go with Bob's Auto Repair who said they could do it for half the price in 45 mins AND they quoted me a lower price for the part.. even though both said they had to order directly from the dealer so you'd think it should've been the same. When I called to tell John's and Son that I would not be using them they told me that in order to look at the window they needed to take the door panel off and therefore needed to charge me for 30 minutes of labor ($45). Although they originally said it was a FREE estimate. Ridiculous and shady. Go elsewhere. read more
