Fish ceviche tostada and fish taco.
Eds C.

Finally made the time to check out this place for the first time since it opened 8 months ago. I can honestly say, "I'm a fan". I don't know what's up with people getting all huffy about the "junk". Its a SWAP Meet. It comes with the territory and that's never gonna change. I came with an open mind, and found some great used and unused stuff amongst the mass of what people are selling away. What I like about it: 1. That it runs through the evening! I'd rather walk through a night cool breeze, shop, eat, and people watch than doing the same thing with the scorching sun down my back. 2. Be sure to print out their coupon for $1 entry fee on their website and have a coupon for EACH person. 3. Come after 6pm. It'll be in full swing. The "garage sellers" tend to be more apt to lower their prices later in the evening, notably during the last 2 hrs. I scored some amazing finds at next to nothing here! 4. The prices on fruits and veggies rivals farmers market prices,as I expect it to. I noticed swap meets in general have better prices. 5. Food trucks have reasonably prices menu items here. The majority of the food trucks serve Mexican food but I did come across food trucks that serve Sushi, Filipino Food, and the typical Hot Dogs/Nachos/Cold Drinks. I highly recommend their 99 cent fish tacos. 6. Live music near the food area. 7. Inflatable jumpers for the kids to play on for free. (I had kids with me) What could use improvement: 1. I left shortly after 9pm. The swap meet could use a little more lighting near the "garage sellers" area but nothing serious. 2. The layout could be more well defined. I felt the vendors and the individual sellers were a bit too close together. I'm sure that's an easy fix. I like the layout of Kobey's slightly better but then again, Kobey's have been around for YEARS vs this place. 3. More advertising of the Swap Meet. I can't believe that a good chunk of my friends still have no idea that there is a Swap Meet here on Wednesdays. 4. Entice more vendors to sell here! I'm more of a foodie. There's no such thing as too many food trucks or too many vendors selling food! From the vendors, I noticed this one guy selling those Bamboo Memory Foam pillows that I saw at the SD Fair recently. I scored 2 queen pillows for $30. The Fair was selling them for $50 and Amazon.com is selling the same exact pillows for nearly $40 for 1! I know a steal when I see it. Another great find was a "seller" who sells discontinued/unused SEA WORLD items on the cheap. Like 80-90% off retail. Those cute travelling coffee mugs were selling for $2 (orig. $17), cute baby clothes for $1-$2, Sea World kids swords $2 (orig. $10), and every stuffed toy and accessories you can think of was next to nothing here. You would certainly miss her if you don't stop and look around the sellers. Its not like she advertises her goods. Shoot, my friends and family will have no idea.... Also from the sellers, I was able to buy nearly brand new cookbooks for 50 cents to $1; unused grocery items like soap, face moisturizers, shampoo at a ridiculous low price. Like I said, I think the sellers lower their prices towards the last 2 hrs of the meet. Anyways, in closing....this swap meet is still in their rookie year. I'm sure it'll get bigger in time. I saw a pretty good turnout tonight. I'm glad I didn't go when it started last November. From what I experienced and read from previous reviews, looks to me that a good majority of the kinks have been worked out. I would definitely come here again every now and then.

Wednesday after work I stumbled upon the swap meet here at Qualcomm Stadium. The cost for admission was $2 per adult when entering it's kind of confusing where the actual entrance is so have patience. The swap meet is a treasure hunt anything from old and new jewelry, tools, toilet paper, jackets, sunglasses, great fishing equipment, shoes, plants, fruit and vegetables, barbecue food, tacos and toys.

This swap meet was good. I bought a nice bonsai for 12dlls and some incense. They have live music in the food court area, which I enjoyed. There's different business from second hand to new. Clothes, bags, even mac makeup, mexican candy, ice cream and some low quality items. People repairing phones and items for the cellphones. I even found a business who gives massages just like at the malls. The not so good is the lighting. Once it gets dark, they don't have enough light around, so careful watch your steps you're walking in the dark. Trust me watch your steps as the pavement is really bad and craters all around. However, I'm not complaining lol. I love it's on Wednesday as I work the weekends and I don't get to go to the other swap meets. This place is my new spot for a good walk and some interesting items. I will go back again and bring some friends too.

This review is for the ACE guy, PAUL W. He is the most cheerful and kind hearted person there. He's at every event at Qualcomm event where ACE is needed and no they don't charge for parking here, at the meet. He waves at everyone coming in. A real southern charmer. I'd just do a loop in the parking lot to get a giant wave and cool Paul smile. When ever he sees me( known him for 10 years now) he says "HEY THERE BABYDOLL" yall may think it weird but he's the type of guy you want to run into at Qualcomm. What a gem. Wave back if you see him. Listen close, he has good advice, too!

Great possibilities as a weekly venue. Needs better lighting...some surface maintenance...and a wider variety in food truck offerings.

PRO-TIP: BRING CASH…read more They have ATM's on site, but of course there's a fee. You need cash to even purchase tickets in, so keep that in mind. There's different prices for different days. On a Sunday afternoon, it was $3 per person. For frequent shoppers and vendors, I think they have stamp cards, which is neat. We had to speed run this trip because we had plans later on in the day, but we saw there was a swap meet across the street from the Brazilian restaurant that we were getting brunch at and nothing prepared us for how MASSIVE it is. I grew up going to swap meets, with one down the street for me, but this is hands down the BIGGEST one that I've been to. So big that my friends and I got split up immediately and it was somewhat difficult to find each other and leave towards the end since there's just rows and rows and aisles and aisles each and which way you turn with some dead ends here and there. There's food vendors and of course, lots of trinket, electronics, thrifted, home goods, and so much more. There's plants, fresh fruit, nuts, a neat little accordion (not sure what it's called but it's antique looking and little mechanical bits and pieces to it) that a performer had, jewelry, toys, video games, unique artwork, school supplies, clothes, etc. Before entering, we saw a vendor selling 6 pieces of clothing for $10. Friend got a bunch of accessories and jewelry for under $20. I got a cool 2 headed T-rex for $2. Some cool things were vintage Beanie Babies and the Panda Express restaurant signs? I would love to come back here and thoroughly parse through everything. Get there early in the morning and then spend hours here.

The area was big with lots of vendors and even food vendors too! It was just nice to walk around and see the great deals people had to offer! There are three screens; playing different movies and plenty of parking spots. They are open Friday to Sunday for the drive in movies. They also occupy this space for swampmeet on certain days. Pro: lots of parking spots, bathroom for use, snack bar (cash only); friendly staff. Con: depends on the day and movie; it can get super packed, the entrance to purchase tickets can get long and extend to the streets; can be dangerous if no one pays attention. Bathroom is outdated, sometimes no hand soap or they run out of bathroom tissues or napkins. Other than that; such a great deal for new movie releases and in the comfort of your car. You can bring snacks, food etc; I always bring a pillow and blanked for extra comfort. Make sure to bring a radio if you don't want your car battery to die. I got one from Amazon for $20; such a great bargain and great system.

Customer service was amazing - a guy who works there offered me water and answered my relentless questions. I had a lot of fun through the small exchange. Their cassette collection leans towards the 90s and 2000s, which I'm not complaining. I thought the price point would be expensive for these vintage finds, but they are so cheap ($5 for The Beach Boys and $9 for Pink Floyd). The dominant genres are alternative and rap. I didn't look too deep into their vinyl records but they got a good mixture of current mainstream to hip hop mainstream - from Daniel Caesar to Vanilla Ice (good stuff). They also have CDs, pins, and vintage shirts. I didn't dig through the CDs and pins, but their curated shirts are pretty top-notch - from Ralp Lauren to 80s Nike (designs look like they were out of MTV during their neon days). The prices are a bit pricey ($30ish). One thing I thought that was very interesting is the bowls made out of discarded vinyl records. It's the coolest thing I have ever seen.

If you enjoy browsing and negotiating, many vendors are open to bargaining on prices. There are also plenty of food and drink stands if you need a snack while walking around. What can you do with $1. FREE parking- admission to the Spring Valley Swap Meet, the greatest deal ever!! Get a stamp if you need to re-enter. This Spring Valley Swap Meet is SUPER HUGE and is outdoors located in Spring Valley, of course. They operate only on Saturday and Sundays from 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, wide variety of vendors selling everything from antiques, vintage items, to clothes, electronics, furniture, mortuary plots ( I saw 2 different business offering this) household goods, plants, and local produce. There are food vendors, bar for alcohol near entrance, and entertainment too! I enjoy coming out here to the swap meet, we try to squeeze it in despite so much to do but so little time. I just love to look at and shop for plants and also get the cheap, colorful fruits for the hubby! I like to browse and at the same time get our steps in. What did I get during this recent to Spring Valley, some new with tag storage, household items from Target, Toys for my friend's daughter, and fruits! The fruits are so cheap, strawberry for $2. a pack or 3/$5., cherries $2. lb. even avocados! I wish prices are this low back on Oahu. Every time I see the chayote fruit, its Mexican kine with pokey thorns, gives me chicken skin, how would you remove the skin without getting hurt? Although the swap meet is outdoors, I can imagine the heat during the Summer, we normally visit during the Fall/Spring time so the weather is much cooler. It does get hot towards the afternoon but we are out of there by then. This swap meet is huge so we normally don't go around the entire place, we give ourselves a time limit of one hour, quick stop in and go! I look forward to visiting Spring Valley SM again!
