Just wow! I asked for something COMPLETELY different from what she gave me, chopped off 6 inches to make it "even", and gave me weird choppy "layers"! I literally came out of there with nearly black hair.. when I asked for mid to dark blond!, 6 inches too short AND because of these weird straight cut layers, I can't even style my hair, not even straight! She even charged me an extra $55 more! I messaged her about it and she told me to wash my hair a few times?! And she's not refunding anything! I went to her to get back into getting my hair done regularly.. gave her a go.. I don't think I've ever had a worse experience! Do not go here. They upvhatge and you dont get the services you asked for mitra although is lovely she really messed up much hair. Its yellow blotchy and one side ajar a bunch of highlights and the other has few... I asked for no blunt ends. It's a straight across cut.. of and while we were talking she mention how she has never gone to school. To start off, I came in as a walk-in and I am truly pleased at Mitra's customer service. She welcomed me in, and made time for me although she had an appointment that she were waiting for. Mitra worked extremely quick, accurate and executed the look I wanted without wasting any time. One minus is I will make sure I do make an appointment next time because I ended up spending too much time getting my hair dried by a slow machine rather than a hand dryer due to Mitra's appointment showing up. Do not go and see Mitra she has no clue what she is doing, she will mess up your hair. Her 30 years experience she claims to have is BS. Her bad Ombre' color job cost me $220 to go get fixed, and I left the salon with dripping wet hair after multiple attempts for her to "fix" her mistakes. My Ombre' was flat, orange, not blended and she claimed it did not need to be toned at first. But I requested it. Absolute nightmare, save yourself the time and hassle. I wish I could give mitra 0 stars for how horrible she did my hair. I asked for the front parts of my hair blonde and the rest chocolate brown. Instead she just bleached the front parts of my hair which were already pretty light with 40 volume developer which killed my hair. she also didn't even tone it after she did a patchy ass bleach job. also didn't even touch the rest of my hair. so disgusted by her and she refused to fix it even after i started bawling my eyes out because i just spent a lot of money for absolute trash. she deserves to be fired and revoked of all of her licenses. so so disgusted please go anywhere else or any other stylist she's awful. the first picture is what i asked for and the second and third are what i got, mitra is clueless. her hair was ugly too read more

I Purchased a Groupon for Emily here and Will never return! I had to Wait a month for my appointment then when i arrived she accused me off dying my hair black and said i needed $50 more for her to do my hair! she claimed it was covered in the fine print of the groupon which it wasn't (i double checked later, it only mentioned texture and length as factors for additional charges, nothing mentioned about color) she was very rude and had the audacity to call me unprofessional when i got upset because she was avoiding questions! even refused to return my Groupon! first off my hair is Dark brown and i got a full refund after calling Groupon.com and ended up purchasing another highlight package from a different stylist in portland and she did my highlights just fine with no additional charges! (just like all my previous stylists) I don't know what messed up world Emily got trained in, but she is a terrible business woman and i wouldn't let her touch my hair if she paid me! What do I like in a hair stylist? Someone who is willing to listen to what I like and am interested in and then has the confidence to make suggestions for what works well with my hair and face shape. I found this stylist at Stage 4! I went to Stage 4 on the recommendation of a friend and I am so pleased with my visit. The salon was very busy for a Thursday afternoon. It felt more like a great place to sit and visit for a while since everyone seemed to be having such lively discussions. Dian Imper was my very confident and inspiring stylist. After getting acquainted with each other, she worked her magic on my neglected hair. I left feeling like I have a cute, sassy cut that I can manage on my own. If I could, I would give Mitra 0 stars. I purchased a Groupon for a cut, blow dry, scalp massage, and deep conditioning. I also had my hair toned while there. She DRY CUT my hair, and before she started cutting she made a completely random part (literally slanted) and said "You can change it later." She did a blunt cut all the way around, WITHOUT SECTIONING, and when I asked her to cut the back a little shorter (she had been cutting my hair for about 5 minutes at that point), she said I would need to make another appointment for that?!!!! She also was working on my hair while working on another client's hair and then complained to me about all the people coming to her from Groupon. Like it was my fault for using the service????? After she toned my hair and washed it, she sat me under a hair dryer, gave me a brush and told me to brush MY OWN HAIR. I ended up being charged $55 for the TONER alone. It should have been less considering the hair wash was already paid for as part of the Groupon. I also didn't get the deep conditioning that I paid for. I had to get my hair fixed, and they ended up cutting off a bunch to fix Mitra's mistakes. I went to a beauty school to have this done, and the STUDENT noticed how bad it was immediately. Disappointed. I called and spoke with the owner and got an appointment. Arrived five minutes early and was informed it would be a 15 minute wait. Not a problem. 45-minutes later...then when I tried talking to the owner, Mitra, about it, she immediately started yelling at me about how 'shit happens'. Not even an apology. Please do yourself a favor and avoid NANCY at all costs. This was supposed to be an eyebrow wax. She starts off by telling you what you did to look horribly, which in my case was cut my eyebrows and shave them. I have never done either of those things. She repeated over and over that I did . I tried to change those subjects by asking her what she was going to do to help me look better. She said she was not going to touch the long part of the brows...she didn't to where I noticed on one but totally waxed the other one on the long part and....just generally nearly took my entire eyebrow off. I think she did this because she did not care and was in a rush to leave. She said over and over that she needed to get home to her family. Throughout she kept asking me if I was married, had kids, who I lived with, where my parents were....just taboo questions which i tried to stave off by short, quick replies. I told her straight up that she took off my right eyebrow almost entirely, including the part she said she was not going to touch. She denied everything and started ordering me to pay at her mirror instead of the cashier. I walked there anyway and told her I would need change. She did not even bother getting my coat off the cashier seat and I had to go back and retrieve it from behind there in a section not for employees. It was so awkward. She just wanted me gone so why do I have to tip? But that is not why I am writing this review. Im writing it because when she said she was not going to touch the long part of my eyebrow, she not only did wax it, but she waxed it to the point that there was nearly nothing left. I pointed this out to her and her response was "Soooo what are you going to do about it?" She had the attitude that I don't matter because (in her opinion) she doesn't work for her customers. I "yelped" a hair salon while in the area. I was searching for "Nancy Doss" from excellent reviews and finally realized (she) was located inside of Stage 4. I did not have an appt but took a chance. Nancy was busy but another stylist agreed to take me. She did a very good job....my hair had been so outgrown!? At the end, I found out that the girls are actually all "on their own" inside of there and charge their own amounts and accept/dont accept credit cards. (Nancys page had said "yes") This one did not. She offered the nearby 7-11 ATM but then told me $25 instead of $30. That was nice. I am admittedly a cheapskate though and with reviews showing only one $ sign (has been raised now),....I was thinking like $20 anyhow?? (probably my own ignorance?) I do see now that the previous review states that the stylists are separate and no credit cards. read more

Vicky is the BEST hair stylist I have ever had. She is a whiz at curly hair. No one has ever cut my hair so perfectly and so quickly!! Not to say she rushes by any means but she is so good at her craft that she gets the job done and I don't have to spend hours in the chair. Love what she does and she is an awesome person to boot. I always come away with a great hair style and a few laughs. I highly recommend her to anyone with naturally curly hair who can't find someone who knows what they are doing. She is such a pro!!
