The place is busy I can tell you that! As far as haircuts go, I think it depends on your stylist. I like that there's a range of stylists, from different levels to different prices of expertise. I wasn't a fan of their front seating area when you walk in, there's no one to acknowledge you or any signage on what do to or how to check in. Just trust that your stylist somehow recognizes/remembers you? Or do you walk over and wait by the register area? Idk, it's been different each time I've been. It makes for an awkward experience. Bouffant Hair Salon saved the day! I desperately needed a haircut to trim my dry ends, so I called in the morning and I was so lucky to get an appointment that same day with Andrea. Andrea did a phenomenal job with my hair. I asked to cut about 4-5 inches and to add layers to increase my hair volume. The whole service included a haircut, hair wash, and blowout. She went above and beyond! After a blowout, my hair looked so radiant! I loved the layers she added and the framing she did in the front. Andrea is kind, knowledgeable with haircare, and an excellent addition to Bouffant Hair Salon. Thanks so much, Andrea! Pricing ranges depending on your hair stylist's years of experience. Level 2, for example, has one to two years of experience and costs $50. Andrea has 10+ years of experience so she is a level 5, and charges $80 for a haircut. There is a $10 additional fee for longer/thick hair (which did apply to me). The salon is located in Cedar Hills and there's plenty of parking. Upon arrival, they asked if I wanted something to drink; I believe they have some snacks, too. Everyone is so kind and helpful. I left an honest review about my experience and instead of doing the normal business-owner thing (like apologizing or improving), the salon chose to block me from booking appointments. Because apparently honesty is a bannable offense here. After reading the owner's replies to other reviews, it's very clear this salon is run on vibes, emotions, and wounded egos -- not professionalism. Any form of criticism is met with defensiveness, attitude, and what can only be described as online tantrums. Accountability does not seem to exist in this establishment. I also fully expect the owner to reply to this with an unnecessarily aggressive or poorly worded response. The difference this time? They can't delete, block, or punish a Google review the way they do customers who don't worship them. Save your money, your time, and your hair. Go literally anywhere else. Let me start with this: have you ever gotten your hair cut and your hairstylist assumed your part? But it's wrong? So I've been coming here for years to get my hair bayalaged and cut. I decided to go for a spontaneous cut and wash ($40). All I asked for was face framing pieces and long layers. Everything was going well, she trimmed it before washing my hair and we decided where the face framing pieces would be/look like. So after washing my hair, we went back to the seat and she started blow drying. My hair was parted to the side and I just assumed that she was trying to get the roots dried and it was just part of her layering process. It wasn't... So she's trimming and I'm getting confused bc my part is very much to the side (when it's supposed to be in the middle) and then she says "what do you think?". And I was like, you know my part is in the middle right? That's what I came in with. And she says "oh haha I should have asked". So she flips it over and now I have a chunk of "face framing hairs" on one side... super choppy and not blended with the rest of my hair. She tries to fix it and I'm trying to hold in my anger because I just wanted it to stop. I just mentioned it was uneven and she just kept on cutting the other side shorter and shorter so I ended up just saying it's fine. I decided not to get mad bc I didn't want it any shorter (keep in mind I asked for LONG layers) and I didn't want it to get it messed up even more. I asked for a balayage with warm caramel tones that would compliment my curly hair texture. What I got was more like babylights or a partial foil, as the stylist never put in the classic V highlights you expect from an authentic balayage. The color is close to what I asked for on the top, but what I didn't realize until I got home was the bottom layers weren't colored, so they're very ashy by comparison. The worst part is the bleach completely fried my hair texture. It's so frizzy that I think I have to cut it all off now. I'be been trying all sorts of hair bonding and deep conditioning products, and it's just trashed. I wish I would have saved my $480 and never gotten the balayage in the first place. A year ago last October I was late to what would have been my first hair appointment at this salon. There was a misunderstanding on my part about the time, but I lived nearby and as soon as I knew about the mix up I left and got there in 12 minutes. I had apologized and took responsibility for the mix up in the text I sent to the salon before leaving, I felt bad and expected to have to wait, however the condescension, public embarrassment and insults I received when I got there were beyond belief, and I left really upset, in tears actually. Today for some reason I was willing to give them a second chance. I went to the website to book an appointment. This required all of my information, including a credit card, which seemed a little much but I provided the info. After submitting I received a message saying my request had been submitted, and I would receive another contact to learn whether or not my request was accepted. Similar to my last experience what I received next was unexpectedly condescending and unnecessary. I was informed via text message that they couldn't accept my appointment request because i "no showed" the appointment in October 2022. The text exchange is attached to this review. This first screen shot to the left is the text exchange on 10/2022. the next from left to right show the conversation from today. Bouffant defends this behavior by claiming that they "respect their stylists time" - I do too. I also support unions, a living wage, decent health benefits and education for all. I spent several years working in the service industry in various roles before and during college, so I can relate. What's puzzling and inexcusable is the condescending and insulting way they treat customers who by some misfortune don't make it on time. Just bad customer service and bad business. Other reviews show I am not be the only one who has had an unnecessarily insulting and frustrating experience with this salon. Then when presented with the bill there was only two line items listed totally $74 more that quoted and much more than listed on the website. A gift card was purchased for the exact amount but the final amount billed was the higher amount. This did not even include tip. The final output ended up being $552 before walking out the door. This was for regular length hair but thick. Bouffant Salon was contacted regarding this and they refused to even allow discussion with the owner of the business. A letter was sent through Balance Consumer Advocacy in lieu of a filing with BBB. No response or contact was received. A filing will now placed with the BBB. I'd think twice before booking here. I have been going to this salon for more than a year and an unfortunate situation came up. I had a family emergency and was subsequently charged $80, for missing my appointment. (I did inform the salon I could not make it) I rescheduled the $160 service and gave my stylist a substantial tip to compensate for missing the appointment. My $160 hair color and cut ended up being $320 (due to the missed appointment charge). I've reviewed many local businesses and am always fair and honest. I have been to this salon twice - and I always ask for Cody. Cody listens to you you and gets you exactly what you want. First time I went for a cut and color. The cut usually includes wash and blow dry and I asked for beach curls. I asked for was burgundy highlights only on the bottom half of my hair. The whole thing cost me $205 without tip. The whole process took maybe 4 hours. Picture below. Second time was just a trim. I wanted to keep the length and Cody did just that. MANAGEMENT GETS ONE STAR b/c they refused to refund any portion of an emergency last minute cancellation due to a severe back injury that left me unable to walk upright for 3 days. Don't expect any level of understanding or decency here from management. I spoke with 2 employees and not one was empathetic, said anything about how they were glad I was better, etc. They even had me text the manager who was in the back of the salon who also demonstrated zero empathy or willingness to build customer relations. Definitely never coming back or recommending to anyone‼ I should have read the bad reviews. I went in to make an appointment for my birthday and showed the lady upfront what I would like and the hair cut. She told me it would be 150 to 190$. I agreed since that was cheaper than what I was told at other salons. I come in the next day and showed the guy what I wanted. I told him how far up I want it and how much on the back. He said he can do it. It was my first time so I was very excited to get my hair done. When applying the bleach, it got on my skin and burned very badly. I didn't say anything and wiped it off. Everything look okay and was left in the foils for about an hour since some sides were done at different times. When he was rinsing it out, it got everywhere. My shirt was wet from the front and back. My ears were filled up with water. Very uncomfortable. I was left at the rinsing station for 30 ish minutes. He put the "silver" dye in and rinsed it out. Then I asked him what haircut I wanted but was told no because he "wouldn't have time". What..? I made an appointment for a color and haircut. Why didn't he make time for a haircut. He told me to come in another day. (Won't come back). After he blow dried my hair. I saw some places were green, and blonde. (He didn't put the "silver" dye in on my side). I didn't want to tell him since I was already here for almost 5 hours when I was told it was going to be 2 1/2 hours. When we went to check out, he said the total was 270!?? I'm sorry what?? How did it go from 150-190 to 270?? We told him that the woman upfront told us 150-190. Like I said before, how far up I want it and how much on the back. He made a phone call then came back and told us she maybe made mistake but it was 270. We told him (me and my dad) that we were told 150 to 190. We won't pay more since that was what she told us. He said since I used more product and more time and all those excuses. We told him we will pay 190. No more. Went back to talk with another stylist and came back. Told us he can't do anything since that was the girls fault not his. We told him it wasn't our fault that we were told the wrong price. After some back and forth, he practically told us to "hurry" because he had a client waiting. "Take 190. No more" Agreed and said he will take 190. So he tried to scam us for more money but when he saw that we weren't going to budge. He agreed to what we were told. Unbelievable. When I got home, I saw it in natural lighting and it looks bad. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!! I came searching for a gold yellow balayage, my hair has only been treated at hair salons that use Aveda products, but since I could not wait until the next available appointment at my favorite salon I decide to give these folks a try. WORST CHOICE!! I ended up with V and she said that she was a perfectionist and that she could make it work but failed. V used level 30 on my healthy hair and left it on for about an hour. After a total of 5 hours it cost me $400 and my healthy hair. Now I have broken hair and a nasty color that V didn't even tone evenly. When I texted them to get a redo in less than 48 hours, the manager said that I would have to pay more money to fix my hair and that they were completely book on that day and did not offer other dates. Talk about getting ripped off and them not caring at all over their customers hair and their satisfaction. V waited about a week to post pictures talking about my hair on her social media and lied saying my hair started with box dye, talk about misleading information from a professional. My hair didn't fall off, but now imagine if I did have box dye in my hair and went to V... my hair would actually be gone gone. Quite alarming. I was going on day 7 of unwashed hair after my surgery, and was dying to have it washed and a fresh, bouncy blow out so I could feel better. I called around a bunch of salons but Bouffant was one of the only ones that were open on a Sunday and taking same day appointments so I decided to give it a shot. I added a trim just so I could revive some bounce. There are two types of hair stylists: those who have worked with a variety of hair textures (apart from Caucasian hair) and know how to use a round brush and blow dryer to achieve the "voluminous blowout" look, and those who claim to know but don't actually know how and resort to straighteners and curling irons to achieve any styling at the end. My stylist fell into the latter category. Her technique was so cringe from the start, even a $500+ Dyson Airwrap couldn't save her. From the second she started, I could tell she was a styling tools-kinda gal and not someone actually trained in a blow out. I explained to her that my hair was naturally curly/wavy, especially as it dries (which means you are supposed to rough dry the hair till about 70% dry and then section it out, bottom to top to smooth blow-dry each section with a round brush.) She skipped the rough drying part because towel drying was enough for her. She sectioned it in random parts, not drying the sections entirely and neglecting to set the ends. She missed out smoothening my hairline altogether (which is something a pro stylist would know, is a time sensitive process with natural waves), leaving them frizzy and undone. She put a ton of product throughout my hair, weighing it down (when I reiterated multiple times that I like to retain volume and bounce at the crown), when she was done she turned me around and my hair looked flat, greasy and shapeless, and she had left a chunk right in front, completely unfinished. Somehow she seemed impressed with her work as she spun me around and all I could feel was sad because she probably thought she was using good technique. The wash part was not therapeutic in the least, in fact it just felt uncomfortable and awkward. My ride who picked me up questioned whether I even got to have my appointment. My husband, who always dramatically falls out of his seat after I come back after getting my hair done, asked me "if I'm still on for my hair appointment today"...right after I got back home. Thankfully, I didn't attempt to get a real cut here and just had her take a half inch off the ends, but am aghast that I had to pay $70 including tip for what was probably in my top 5 worst hair experiences in my life. Bad enough that I came back home, dunked my hair in the sink and blowdried it again myself (even though I wasn't cleared to do so post surgery yet). The stylist was pleasant and sprightly but sadly did not have blow drying technique down, which makes me wonder how they feel good about charging what they do. A good haircut/experience at the salon has the ability to really brighten and reset your mood, but unfortunately, I came back even more upset than I had gone in. I really would have been better off going to GreatClips. One star for accommodating a same day appointment on a Sunday, and another for pleasant personalities...but I couldn't justify any more stars based on the dissatisfactory hair experience. read more

The Owner!!!! OMG!!! so rude, so disrespectful. I feel so bad for the stylus that work at the salon. Like many other posts, I was in the chair for four hours, requesting a balayage that I did not get. My hair was very overprocessed, dry, damaged, breaking. I booked a color correction with a higher level stylist to fix the color, but my hair clearly needed a conditioner and possibly a trim because of the damage. The owner happened to be there that day, and when I went to ask her about it, she gave me the most amazing eye roll that came straight off of Saturday night live. When I told her my concerns, she asked me if I was a stylist, knowing I was not, Told me, I was rude, and basically told me to leave. so many other reviews reflect the same experience I had with the owner. I came in as a walk-in so last minute. I usually cut my own hair, but I let a friend shorten my layers and I couldn't salvage it myself, so I called all the salons near my house right after work today and this was the only one who had time for a walk in. I was reading the reviews after I came in, and they made me absolutely terrified as I was sitting there waiting for my haircut. But everyone was so sweet!! Everyone had a client when I walked in but three different girls came over to greet me and two of them asked me if I wanted something to drink or a treat from their bowl. After my hairdresser took me, she was so sweet. She also offered a drink or a treat and asked if I wanted to move since the sun was hitting near me. She also did AMAZING. I don't like going to salons at all I don't trust people near my hair, let alone by bangs, but she fixed it up perfect!! Lupita is so sweet, she asked me a handful of times what I wanted her next step to be or how I wanted a certain section done. She also explained to me how I would be able to fix it up myself if it ever happens again and gave me some general pointers. She also stayed well past closing time to help me out. I don't understand the bad reviews about their customer service or their prices. They were the nicest bunch of girls, not just with me but with every other customer there. And I paid $55 for my haircut! Personally I feel that's a good price considering my boyfriend gets his haircuts at the same price with his barber. I'm unable to do layers the way she did them, so I will definitely make this my usual salon whenever I want an extra good haircut for something. read more

The stylists are nice and some are good at their jobs, but when the stylist made a big error yesterday, the OWNER WAS SNARKY, UNETHICAL, and GASLIGHTING, with circular arguments to avoid responsibility. I came in with several pictures to communicate what I was looking for, the stylist did something completely different, tried to fix it with help from someone else who wasn't listening to what I had asked for in the first place, kept saying "Well, what do you want?!" but not making sure she then understood. How was I supposed to know how to fix their epic mistake -- I'm the customer, not the stylist! It ended up nothing like what I came in for and worse than my previous coloring. I had been told she was a master stylist -- she was not. I now have BROKEN PIECES of hair in the front, down to an inch when i have long hair, because it was OVERBLEACHED.
