I dont understand peoples perception of exceptional because this place is NOT. The shower curtain had sooooo many stains, it was gross. Water pressure sucked. Room never got cool. There was a humid, musty feeling in the room. AC is out of date. There was also a load of dirt all over the counter from the AC unit. When I awakened the next morning, I found all my food in the fridge completely frozen. Management or whoever was there decided the best thing to do was to blame the guests (stop placing blame on others). It is YOUR reaponsibilty to make sure everything in the room is set for the next guest. Went to get ice, it was full of dirt and debris. read more

My husband and I have stayed in Ogunquit over the years many times and been in many various hotels in the area. We were heading up to northern ME for a family gathering and used Ogunquit as an overnight stop over. Therefore, we weren't looking for anything fancy... just reasonable and clean. This place was reasonably clean. But extremely in need of a paint job and general maintenance. The door to the room looked as if a 10 year old painted it in 1970! Not worth listing the many things we chuckled about in the room... wall paint splashed on the ceiling, a chunk out of the vanity counter..... and so on. We wanted cut rate... that's what we got! Do not stay here! Booked for Memorial Day Weekend. Severely outdated rooms ours was still under construction. The box springs were stained and had no covers, there were no base boards and we could see the outside under the walls, there was a nest of wasps, the curtains were hanging off of the rod like a slum apartment. We immediately saw that we couldn't stay there and took our keys back to the office to check out. Clerk was rude and would not give any paperwork saying we did not stay. They told us to contact booking.com for a refund. Booking asked the motel for a refund and they said "no". We have been out $360 and no one will assist us. Overpriced for what you get. We stayed in the bldg adjacent to the main bldg on the 2nd floor. The main bldg looked pretty sketchy. The walls in this section are PAPER THIN. Do not stay here! Booked for early July. Severely outdated rooms that were unsafe for elderly and injured. I'm 77 and my daughter is injured. No elevator, nothing equipped for injured or handicapped. We immediately saw that we couldn't stay there, alerted front desk. Clerk was exceedingly rude. He told us to tell hotels.com, who told us to tell the hotel. Manager ghosted us - never picked up phone or answered emails. I've never had such bad customer service in my life. Waited to see if anyone responded before writing negative reviews. Still waiting to hear back from ANYone. We were charged nearly $500 for 2 nights and we never put our bags down in the room. Gross. Dirty. Hotels.com is outsourced to another country. Nobody helping locally. Whoever is running this hotel is clearly hurting local businesses. How can I trust mom-and-pop businesses when there is no protection for this type of thing. I would have been okay with one night's charge, but TWO FULL nights' charges for an UNTOUCHED room? Essentially theft. read more

First there is no sea view. Good pool heated....clean! Friendly staff! Priced right. One mike walk to beach. Comfortable beds...shower pressure fair and takes awhile to get the hot water. While the location was lovely and the place looks nice from outside, the rooms are old and dated. We were stuck in a back room with a view of the dumpster (their advertising talks about all the rooms having outside seating with a view). The toilet didn't flush and it took over 12 hours (from 8:00 pm on check-in day till 9:00 am the following day) to get the problem addressed. We asked for assistance, were told someone would be up to help, and then an hour later when we went to check again, the office was closed. We called the emergency number on the door, and never heard a word back. We had to go back to the office in the morning to ask again. The toilet seat was broken when we arrived (it was fixed the next day). When we attempted to check out at normal check out time, there was no one in the office. Unfortunately, we would not go back here and do not recommend it. read more

Dirty and the new management is horrible . I got to my room and the used soap was still on top of the shower stall . My toilet was not flushing . I brought it to the owners attention. I asked to be placed In a clean room or for it to be cleaned. The coffee pot was disgusting, didn't even look like what was coffee grounds in it. He was very defensive and said it was my fault I didn't tell him a few hours before . I didn't realize I had to double check to make sure a room that I was paying for was cleaned .Mind you I did not use the toilet when I first got there, it was prelude in Kennebunk so I left and made my way there right away. It was the afternoon when I told him. I had to find another place to stay and the couple that was part of my party was also asked to leave . Then my Uncle walked into the office when I was talking to the owner and was immediately asked if he was part of our party, well he had to leave as well . This hotel use to be nice. It's now a place where people rent the rooms as apartment for extended stays and there's discounted prices on Groupon. The old owners were a lot better . This place is going to crap. Btw if you do get a room and do need to go to the front desk, you wait atleast 20 mins for the owner ( manager) to come and help you. Be careful not to complain, he's a sensitive man. I might take this down when my parents get there refund . The owner lied to the outside company they bought their room from . They were promised a discount since he had us leave early. read more

Horrible. Our room was full of yellow jackets. The shower stability bars came off with the lightest touch. The bed is not a standard double (it's more than 6in smaller - not much bigger than a cot). This is NOT walking distance in the heat. Watch out they charge extra for everything: $20/night per kid, $30 for a cot per night, $30 to check-in a minute early. Gross and absurd. We could have stayed on Nantucket for the weekend for what we paid here and it's disgusting. read more

Affordable, Clean, Close and Super Staff! Everyone here is very friendly - very helpful and even though check out is early they will usually allow you to leave your car parked for a few extra hours at least so you can venture into town- do some shopping- eating and just enjoy! Continental Breakfast- hot coffee- and I love the coffee maker, refrigerator in room. Comfortable and quiet- there are a few stairs but they are there to help if you check in on time! Very friendly staff and very clean. Good location, close walk to town and can walk to beach. However, we had two double beds that were the most uncomfortable squishy beds I've ever been on. Honestly, I sat on the bed and it felt like both ends were folding up. Terrible sleep. Until the management notes that they've gotten new mattresses, stay away from room 29. I have to give it 3 stars because after all, the point of a motel is to sleep (so technically I'm being generous). I think had it not been so late at night, I would have asked and they would have let us change rooms. But if they'd been sold out, we would have been out of luck. read more

My husband and I stayed at the Sea View Motel a few years back in autumn and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the room was. This year, we wanted to get away for a few days with our infant daughter and we found out at the Sea View opened a cottage on the property, so we went with my in-laws. The cottage was perfect with a baby because there was a full kitchen (microwave, stove/oven and sink). We unfortunately ran into a few day of rain, but if the weather is nice, there is a beautiful deck with a gas grill and patio furniture. The cottage is equipped with AC units, as well as radiator heat which came in handy a few chilly nights. There are TVs in the living room and bedroom (the living room has a pull down murphy bed in addition to the couch). While we fit 4 adults and a baby comfortably, I think this cottage would be perfect for a family of 4 (two adults in the bedroom and two children on the murphy bed). Everything looked clean and new. The continental breakfast which is offered with both the regular rooms and the cottage is really nice. There's a variety of tea, coffee, milk, orange juice and water for drinks. They also offer yogurts, bagels, fruit and other items - everyone can find something. We enjoyed taking some food back to the cottage and eating at the dining room table. If you want to relax one day without heading into town or the beach, there is a very nice heated pool with tables and chairs, lounge chairs, and umbrellas. The price of the rooms has been reasonable each time we have stayed. Location is on point - there is a trolly stop directly in front of the motel, and it only takes about 7 minutes to walk into the center of town, about 15 minutes to walk to the beach, and a longer leisurely stroll to Perkins cove. read more

This hotel has changed owners / management for the worse. I am very disappointed with the room and the breakfast. The room I had was not in the main building but on the adjacent part of the property. It was extremely dirty and appears to have cigar burns in the tables - pretty bad for the price. The breakfast consisted of old coffee with powdered creamer (that was it). I realize everyone will overpay for a bad to mediocre room in Ogunquit but will never stay here again. You are better off down the street at the Juniper Inn where the price is a bit higher, but the quality is much better read more

My husband and I love this place!!! We only stay here when we come to Maine. Vinny and Matt make you feel so comfortable and are so friendly. They always go over the top to make your stay the best it can be. The location can't be beat and the rooms are super clean an updated in beautiful white. There are some of the best restaurants in walking distance, including downtown, so no crazy parking issues. plus it's super quiet and never had noise issues which is great for us. you cannot beat the price, and we have stayed at other "boutique" hotels in the area. I adore this place. The first thing I noticed was that the air was subtly scented by the multitude of lilac bushes on the property. I looooove lilacs. Our room was spotless. Immaculate. Our quarters were generous, with a nearly full kitchen (hot plate instead of a stove, but no big). The jacuzzi in the room was bliss. The fireplace didn't work. This was sort of a bummer. But minutes after we phoned the front desk, one of the owners was in our room, fixing it. Bonus points for quick attentiveness. The staff was completely personal and sweet. They were full of helpful suggestions, and genuinely nice. I'll be back. It was worth every penny. read more

My husband and I stayed at this motel with a gift certificate. I'd never pay $90 for the room we stayed in. Needs updating. Bathroom had a dirty shower. Both sides of the fitted sheets did not even cover the top corner before even getting in. Mini fridge made clicking noises when running. Room got so hot and ac unit made such loud noises had to turn it off. Sorry to complain but it was just a frustrating night of sleep. read more

From what I now understand, this motel changed ownership a year or two ago. I noticed all of the reviews were at least 2 years old so I thought I'd add my two cents. First of all, I'm not a complainer by nature and I believe in second (and sometimes third) chances. I know no one is perfect and expect there to be some issues that I can usually overlook. I was very nice when I arrived and even continued kindness until the straw that broke my back. I've stayed in many hotels and motels and have never had an experience like this. My issues: 1. Last year, I guess for covid, they removed the continental breakfast but never took that off the website. One of the reasons I chose that motel was specifically because it was offered. The coffee that was left on a table outside the office was dirty and had grounds in it like they hadn't cleaned the urns in a while. When I asked about it (VIA TEXT) it took a long time for a response and when I finally received one they said "they must not have removed it from the site" and suddenly the "continental breakfast" option was gone. 2. The pool was NOT heated (as advertised) and on the 4th day we finally found someone who would turn the heat up so the water wasn't so cold. 3. Outlets in the room were broken, in need of repair and behind the bed so you couldn't even get to it if you wanted to. 4. The phones in the rooms had been removed so if you wanted or needed anything you had to text someone. This was a real pain because there were times when no one was available and you'd get an automatic response to your TEXT. 5. There were no outlets that were in any condition to plug anything into except for one outlet in the bathroom. 6. there was an odd odor in the room, a tiny coffee maker but no coffee, and only one roll of toilet paper, which was not replenished until we chased someone down. I had to ask for coffee twice before the manager finally brought me a packet. 7. Early check in? $30.00; Late check out? $30.00; Need a cot? $20.00 per night. Extra car you need to park? $20.00 per night. I was afraid to ask for anything lest there be a fee attached! 8. The mattresses were old and uncomfortable. You could almost feel straw in them. We asked for sheets to change the bed and they gave us twin for a full sized bed. 9. When I finally complained they offered me a $50 credit for my next visit (HA!) and said they couldn't give me any sort of a refund to my credit card. In the end, if you're looking to spend one night and just want a bed to sleep on, this is a great choice. But for the exorbitant amount I paid for 4 nights I could have stayed right on the beach. We've come to Ogunquit for years and this motel ranks in the top two that we've stayed. It's an older motel as most are in Ogunquit. They do keep the rooms and facilities in great condition. We stayed in the 2 floor section south of the pool and house. It was quiet, AC worked great and plenty of parking. Also has grassy areas to the front and rear with chairs and picnic areas so good for families with kids. We didn't use the pool but it appears to be good sized and clean. The included breakfast is your typical continental with cereal, toast, bagels, pastries, yogurt and fruit. So although nothing super exciting, the coffee was good and everything looked fresh. Also, another great feature is that the Wi-Fi actually works - connects and stays connected! The motel is in walking distance to downtown but also has a trolley stop right in front. read more

Our absolute favorite place to stay while in Ogunquit. We've been coming here for at least ten years and we are NEVER disappointed. We've stayed in many different areas of the motel and they are all great! Our favorite so far, is the jacuzzi suite. Normally, we spend our time sitting on the porch people watching, but we've been so happy with the jacuzzi tub and fireplace! So convenient too! Just a quick walk to downtown Ogunquit to all the shops and restaurants! read more

What a great find! We won't stay anywhere else in Maine after this past weekend. Staff was super friendly and helpful,rooms were very very clean. The beds and pillows so comfy our kids slept in until 8:30! Nice plentiful continental breakfast. Clean warm pool and hot tub that gets super hot for ultimate relaxation. Loved this place. Would gladly stay there again. An older traditional style 3 story motel with porch all around. Pleasant atmosphere, chairs outside on the porch. Some stairs but not a problem for the 70 year old. Very clean, spacious room, comfortable beds. spotless bathroom, nice seating area by picture window. Convenient counter with fridge, microwave, vanity and sink. A good location, 1/2 mile from center, easily walked. Trolley stop nearby. Complimentary continental style breakfast. read more

Great rooms for the price and the staff was wonderfully nice! The cleaning staff did a great job and the maintenance of the property generally was great. The airline I flew in on delivered my bags at 4:30 a.m. and the staff didn't complain that they were called to come down and collect the bags. Pretty centrally located. We had a rental car but if we wouldn't have it is still convenient to the trolleys. Would definitely stay here again. read more

Bad experience with management. I called to cancel my room, the woman stated this was too bad for me. When I asked what she meant she said they would charge me for the night's stay. I told her that when I reserved it through Expeida it was not shown this was a non-refundable rate. The day I called the hotel was completely sold out and it was a few days before my stay was to occur. She was ademant about charging me for the night. She said I would have to have Expedia call them. I called Expedia and was told they would call the hotel and ask for a one time waiver. Expedia later told me the manager said they would charge me only if they were not able to resell the room. i was told not to worry since it was the height of the season. I later find out they did not repost the room to try sell it and just charged me for the room. Make your own decisions about this hotel but for me their infexibility and customer service was terrible. It clearly was worth the money to them to lose a customer. read more
