This is a simple "roadside motel" that sits along old Highway 99. For as many years that it's been here, it's an excellent shape. I got a room for right about 60 bucks out the door. The gentleman that checked me in was very friendly. The room was fantastic. Absolutely clean, yes, the carpet is old, but it's clean. The bathroom is spotless, the TV has a great picture with Dish Network. The Wi-Fi was plenty fast and able to stream video , the bed was a little bit firm for my personal taste, but I still got a great night sleep. There's a fridge and a microwave, and the heater keeps you more than warm. If you need a little bit more, they also provide a comforter. The room is well lit, and I had plenty of places to charge my gear. The bed only provided three pillows, and so if there's two of you, you may have to ask the office for another. The motel also has a coin washer and dryer. There was no breakfast, but I didn't expect there to be. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you! read more

This is a older motel. Hardly any hot water. Our bed had a light brown stain on the blanket on top of the bed. Beds are very hard!! The bathroom had some hairs on the floor and the toilet paper was really thin. It is in an old neighborhood and the roads need to be desperately repaired! We had an issue with noise some young guys were loud outside from 8- pm to 11 pm then went in the room and were jumping off the beds. We were traveling from Seattle to So California. We were extremely tired from our 13 hour drive. There is a McDonald near by the micro wave worked but the mini fridge was not turned on. Front desk lady was very nice. Parking is tight! They have a pool but didn't look too inviting. It has a hoist to lift disabled people in and out of the water it's a chair and a hoist beside it. The Ac worked really well was not loud and the ceiling fans too. It was 82 degrees when we arrived so Ac was nice. It took about 15 minutes to cool the room down. The motel is kinda far off the freeway in a small town . We stopped at Walmart in Willows for snacks . It is located in a neighborhood with a motel 6 and super 8 and houses beware of dogs and kids running in the streets! read more

Every time we stay here it's been a very restful sleep. We travel to Grants Pass and this is our stopping point going there and coming home. Comfortable, clean rooms. Great comfy beds. Chris and Suzanna are so welcoming and friendly! So is Chris's Dad. Nice, quiet neighborhood. AND they welcome our fur baby who travels everywhere with us. The property is very well maintained. Staying here was about expectations. The managers were very nice. The room was ok. It was clean and pretty comfortable but there were issues. The heater is way up on the wall and we asked how to turn it on, we were told to use the remote- but there was no remote, so we were told to stand on a chair (!)... It took forever for hot water to appear in sink or shower. But that is somewhat understandable... Toilet seat was loose- I fixed it. Toilet ran intermittently, I tried to fix it but innards are too old and need replacing. (no I am not a plumber, just a homeowner). Housekeeping did not show up even though we hung the sign outside. The manager brought us towels and emptied trash for us after dark on our third day. I would say this is ok for a one night stay while traveling, but I would definitely go somewhere else for staying multiple nights when we travel here for our annual bird watching expeditions. read more

Old, old motel. No blanket on bed. No hot water in bathroom. Heater unit looked like an air conditioner... on the top of the wall... over a counter with coffee maker and microwave... and a mini fridge under the table. The only way to turn on heat would be to climb on a chair and lean over the table / counter area. Dangerous. There were dirty towels and blood on the pillow case. At checkout the next morning, the office door was locked... no answer. No way to complain. Not a good place. read more

I was driving back home with my boyfriend when my car broke down and we had no where to go. Chris at the front desk was very kind and understanding of our situation. We slept over and after going to out get breakfast my boyfriend saw a bed bug crawling on his arm. I went to go talk to Chris and told him and he seemed very confused (naturally). He told me that the beds were brand new which was NOT true. When I lifted up the mattress there was a giant blood stain and rips in the bed. Luckily we got out of there immediately, but I do not recommend staying here. read more

Don't let's the outside fool you. My employees and I stayed here for right at 3 weeks and were shown the best hospitality a man could ask for. Amazing!!! Best experience I've had in this area at any hotel. My new go to when I'm working or traveling through Williams. I stay at hotels 200+ days a year. And this place is Wonderful. The owners are Amazing. Always helpful, and make you feel like your at home. Rooms are big and super clean. I stayed here for 6 weeks while working in the area. I tried several other hotels in the area until I found this place. All the others have road noise and sound like your sleeping on I-5. You can't hear a peep of noise. They have a well lit parking lot and cameras. Best part is you can park in front of your door, no lobby and busy parking lot. The bed is comfortable, firm but just enough cushion for a great nights sleep. Again, the owners are Amazing and so helpful. There's an awesome Mexican restaurant next to the hotel and a great little grocery store just a minute walk. Granzallez's restaurant is a 3 minute walk. You will be glad you stopped here. read more

I have stayed at Stage Stop inn for the last 5 years. It is a great value and the rooms are perfect for my needs. They are very clean, with all needed amenities and the owner/manager is always accomodating and friendly. I gave them less than a one day notice that I would like to check-in at 10AM, which is very early for motels/hotels and they were able to have 3 rooms ready at that time and the 4th room was ready a few minutes later. I ALWAYS recommend this motel to friends visiting the area and will continue to use it the future. Thanks to Stage stop inn. It's always a pleasure to see the nice family that runs it. read more

Nice for the price- compared to the other 2 Pet friendly. Breakfast - waffles, small egg omlets- no sausage or bacon. Friendly staff. Shower had good shower pressure and nozzle. Nitpick: Bedside needed a "charge station" or just an extension cord for pluggung everything in. What a little gem in Williams! Hubby came up for an event, I tagged along. After one bad night at a national chain motel, we needed a better motel. The Stage Stop Inn is definitely a better motel. Nicely appointed, clean room. Microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, large flat screen tv & a huge shower. Sheets that don't pop off the bed, very important. The man manning the front desk was very helpful, cordial and accommodating. When we come back up this way, we'll be staying the night here again. This place is far from the price they charge. $132 per night. We had been traveling all day and desperate so we took it but not willing. They had no ice. no pool, the pool is Green, no breakfast. Nothing as advertised. Old furniture that had a lot of wear. Could get better furniture at a thrift store. I called the office with the room phone and they kept hanging up on me. I called on my cell and they still kept hanging up. Unable to reach any one to ask about ice. If you could find another place. read more

I must say this little motel was totally adequate for a quick night's sleep and clean warm shower. My unit (#12) had a large modern shower stall with six molded in shelves to hold soap shampoo etc. the water temperature pressure and direction were all easily adjustable. The bed was firm and clean and the pillows were soft and full. There were great reading lamps on both sides of the bed with individual switches, didn't have to get out of bed to turn off the lights! But be aware there are no wall sockets on either side of the bed, closest one is 10 feet away on the sidewall. I like the fact that the clothes hanging rack is out on the open wall and not inside the closet, made it super easy to pick my clothes. This is a single-story strip type motel with your car at your front door. And the best part is, the price was only $50 per night, everything included ! read more

Had a great 3 night stay. Wanted to escape the cold SF summer for the long weekend and go to an affordable, quiet place that was warm/sunny with a nice swimming pool, and not too far away. Stage Stop was the perfect option. A 2 hour drive from SF. The service was outstanding; Chris the manager is very friendly and helpful, and everyone that works there was kind and accommodating. The room was very clean and the A/C worked so well that we had to turn it down because it became so cold. The linens and towels were good quality, internet was strong, and the 42" TV with DirecTV was nice to have. Mini-fridge, microwave oven, and coffee maker in the room. It is a motel, so bring your own soap and shampoo if you want full sizes of them, and understand that the continental breakfast is very basic (but fresh and sufficient). There are a number of good restaurants/bars/markets within 1-2 blocks. I'll definitely go back next time I need to escape the Bay Area for a relaxing weekend to sit by a pool. read more

I like to leave good reviews, but I'm gonna be honest, I didn't enjoy having mosquito bites on the trip back home from staying at this hotel. Every time I killed a mosquito in this room, it seemed like another one appeared out of nowhere. Also, the bathroom didn't seem to be cleaned very well. There was a chunk of long hair just left in the toilet bowl when I got there, which seemed odd... And the only breakfast they had available was cereal. Needed a place to stay with the kids for the night on our drive up the 5. Picked this place based on its decent reviews, breakfast and location (didn't want to drive much further in the dark). The guy working the front desk was super friendly and had a goo vibe. I forgot to request a non-smoking room and got put in a smoking one. But thankfully it smelled okay to me and my super picky daughter didn't notice anything off either. The room was pretty eh. The bedspreads looked like they were purchased used from a hotel liquidator. They were stained as were the sheets. Yuck. It looked like they had tried to give the room a facelift at some point buy putting in more modern looking beds (old mattresses) but the chairs in the room look original from the 1960's. Carpet looked updated at least. No plastic bag liner for the ice bucket. Think I'll skip using that and the coffee maker. For breakfast they had some cereal boxes, styrofoam bowls and some cut up costco muffins in the office. And some coffee and sunny delight-like drink. read more

I give it a Low Adequate. The bed was comfortable, but the water pressure in the shower was the lowest I have ever experienced, we could hear every neighbor's plumbing all night long,I had to stand on a chair to read the AC/heater controls (I'm 6' tall), and the breakfast was cereal and packaged pastry on a shelf in the lobby (no place to sit there). So disappointed! I've stayed here twice before this time. Once in 2012 and once in 2013. Then I found this little family-owned motel to be tidy, comfortable, and a great value. Not this time. The room cost $49.99, which isn't bad if the quality was the same. My non-smoking room reeked of smoke that was apparently coming through the walls from the room next door. The room was dusty, the very flimsy bedspread was stained. There was no blanket on the bed and when freezing cold at 3 am I couldn't find one. Turns out there was a flimsy, dirty-looking blanket in a drawer. Tried to turn on the heat but there was no knob. Turning the stump where the knob should have been made a noxious smelling barely warm blast of air come out. By the time I was able to get the devil machine turned off, the whole room stunk from the foul odor. I put on a sweatshirt and buried my face under the sheets. Got back to sleep around 5 am. Had to drive back to LA on fout hours sleep. When I complained to the lady at the desk, I got a very flippant "sorry about that." Sorry I won't be staying here again. I like to support family businesses, but Motel 6 would have been better. I'm embarrassed that I've recommended this place to a lot of people. read more

Not too sure when the good review was posted but again no blanket pillows compressed and hard ,two towels for 4 people and an interesting feature was the table runner on the bed ,badly stained tub only pure exhaustion has allowed me to sleep a few hours maybe it's a weekend use only place. I have stayed at small family run places and usually find them clean with individual touches by their owners again let me mention the table runner no blankets just the thin spread hard as a rock pillow and stained and dirty tub and all I see is lack of pride of ownership time to pass the place on to someone who cares read more

Appears clean. Decor is dated. Prices are good. But the smoke detector in my room was not working with the wires hanging from it. And my bathroom door would not latch. Also when we left in the morning to go to breakfast we saw one of the desk attendants going from room to room very quickly. We came back to our rooms before leaving for the day and noticed the tip money was gone from each of our rooms though The rooms had not been cleaned yet. And we did not see any house keepers carts out to show that they were working. I do believe that the desk attendant stole the tips both mornings that we were there. I actually gagged while taking photographs of the grime in this room. In the morning I went to ask the lobby for coffee as they have pictured in their ad. There was none and I told her the coffee maker in my room was scorched plastic and dirty. She sent a man to my room with a bottle of bug spray filled with degreaser to clean my pot...I was reading through their guest book and saw the AAAsign and asked upon checkout for the discount and she said she already gave it to us!! My husband and I were totally surprised with this gem. from the outside, it looks like a newly painted older motel. The front desk told us they had recently remodeled. Wow,were they right! Flat screen TV, cable, tasteful furniture, a new bathroom, microwave, fridge, AC + a ceiling fan, hairdryer,new carpeting,fixtures, and no old smells !Also there is a nice little pool, surrounded by mature palm trees All for under $50! It's too bad the previous person rating this hotel had to take all of her whining out on the hotel rather than hotwire..It's obvious the owners are really working hard. The bed was pretty firm. We decided to get out of town and just drive. When we decided to get a room for the night everything was booked and we could not find a room. I drove around the little town of Williams to find a decent old motel (Better option than sleeping in the car.) I saw the Stage stop Inn and thought well how bad could it be.......I was so surprised at how nice the management was as well as how clean and surprisingly nice the room was! I would definitely stay there again. The price wasn't bad either. I definitely recommend the Stage Stop Inn. read more

Great value, very clean...our room w/ a king-size bed after taxes cost us $64. Brand-new remodel, flatscreen TV, brand-new shower, tile, paint, windows, sink, etc. but the bed and the pillows are very firm....bring your own soft pillow! the parking lot is a little noisy in the morning, thin walls. Not good for sleeping in unless you turn on some white noise. We had a comfortable stay here, and I like to support the little guys! There's also a grocery store across the street which is very convenient. Nice little pool area with beautiful date palms. read more

With no plan, we actually avoided this place until we realized that all of the other hotels in the area were booked. Exhausted, we came here and were delightfully surprised. Flat screen tv, modern rooms, free breakfast, free wi-fi, pool, fitness center, and they take competitor coupons. The owners are a sweet, friendly, accommodating couple. Would come back for sure.
