Before they left, one of the mover told my husband it should have been put in first and was not. The photos are from the morning after they left. You can visibly see the fold in the Tempur-pedic mattress. When we tried to hold it up to see if we could stabilize it, one of our three pictures we had "professionally" packed was being leaned on by the mattress. The box was bending. The professional packing consisted of two cardboard panels taped together. The frame of our Thomas Kinkad painting was hanging out with the tape on it. We were charged for 5 hours of labor plus for the "professional" packing of the painting. My husband tip the movers in cash. They were nice guys. We let them take a bunch of things we had out our goodwill pile which took away from the time we were charged for labor. I contacted the office the following day via email with the photos attached. The office manager and I corresponded via email. On 9/24, they agreed mattress should have been placed against the wall to ensure the flatness of it and strapped down. She did note we had not rented or purchase any straps from them. The crew did stated to her they thought the picture was more secure than the pictures show and assumed it moved during transport of the MI-BOX. (THE POD HAD NOT BEEN MOVED BETWEEN THEM LEAVING AND WHEN THE PICTURES ATTACHED WERE TAKEN). Included in the office manager's response was: " Typically, College Bound Movers is not liable for items once the doors to the MI-BOX close. Any claims would go against go against your content's insurance. You did provide your homeowners for coverage. As a customer service courtesy, i am going to offer you a customer service refund of one hour labor time and the mattress cover." I responded back to the office manager the same day. The "assumption" on their part that the paintings shifted during transport was not true. The POD had not left the driveway between the time they left & the pictures were taken. It's a week later and there has been no further correspondence from her.

They called the morning of the move to tell us that they were on their way. Nick, Alex and Ryan were extremely professional. They wrapped some of wooden furniture. They finished loading the truck. Once at our new home and the unloading began. They had everything in and put things where they belonged. Asked questions about where to put things. The entire move took less time than the estimate. Pick up was fine , but I was very confused . 1) the pick up truck was a massive 18 wheeler that this company must've contracted out. Nowhere did it say "Poseidon moving" . 2) the men who helped load the trucks were from "Hidalgo movers" again nowhere did it say they were from Poseidon moving 3) once I got the keys to my apt, and spoke to my landlord about that big 18 wheeler coming by, he said absolutely not. So I informed the company the day before " hey yall can't bring that 18 wheeeler in you will have to transfer my items into a smaller moving truck" . They said they understood , however the day of the move I see the 18 wheeler at the entrance of the apartment complex blocking the entrance . It was extremely embarrassing. Then some two dudes come by in a ford truck and trailer . With plates from Alabama . Again I have no idea who they were , they didn't have any Poseidon moving logos. Furthermore they asked for water?! And I had none obviously . 4) my boxes came in smashed, and I'm somehow missing two items that I literally saw them load in the truck : my piano stand and my towel rack. I'm not sure how these items could've gotten lost if my items were never transferred out of that initial 18 wheeler.

This really should have been a two day job, the crew and we were exhausted by the end of the day. I'm not really upset about the cost difference because I knew what their hourly rate was. The crew really wanted to get it all wrapped up for us by the end of the day instead of stretching to another day because they had another job the next day bright and early. The booking office is really putting their workers through the wringer and I don't appreciate that. The crew was kind and delicate with our items. They were being gracious and offering to do whatever we wanted with regards to helping pack remaining items, disassembling and reassembling furniture, and organizing things at the new house. I may have taken note of their time for these things if it hadn't been clear by noon that this was going to already be a very long day. By 10pm I was just happy to have everything remaining that we own in the garage. So I did enjoy the crew, but if you go with this company and have a lot of stuff then you need to do some legwork yourself to get an accurate estimate. I had a three bedroom 1700 sqft house with a large basement and garage and it took 15 hours and cost $4k.
