In operation for 70 years they have tons of new old stock items and hard or impossible to find older plumbing, hardware, and household items. The store is really part museum with photographs of the owner decades ago with the likes of Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, etc., as well as wonderful old store fixtures. But this is still clearly a neighborhood anchor. When we were there recently people came in to have keys cut, for a large cast iron frying pan, and other everyday items. You will not find the selection of a larger store, but no hardware store aficionado should be within 20 miles of Pine Avenue Hardware without stopping by.

What a delightful little store this is!! I came in today…read morehoping for help with steel or iron type hardware and that's exactly what I got. The owner was attentive and gave me the time to address what my problems were..did I need a curb or a skirt, a rail? A ledge?? As hardware goes, it was a unique opportunity. We selected a ledge and she found the screws and drill bits I needed to set it all in place... I needed #8*1/2 wood screws and I didn't need to go digging around looking for them myself and the 5/32" drill bit only cost 2.80. In fact, when I was walking in, a customer came out with a window pane cut with 5 tulip shaped pieces of glass in an antique window!! That's fuckin' brilliant! I wish I lived closer. I'd shop there every day. They have drinks and snacks and paint and tools!! They're really into helping their customers.

It was easy to find staff to ask questions. I only had 10 mins to find florescent light and pay for it. One staff directed me to the lighting section and a second staff member brought me directly to the light tubes. Called in re: price match guarantee and was told that unless I could produce the flyer they would not honor the promise. As you can see by the picture taken in Rona, the sign clearly states "As Advertised in Flyer". I have gone back and forth with the sales person,John Lampert, and he tells me the manager will not honor it unless I physically have the flyer. Since past flyers are not available how is this possible? Do not trust Lowes "No Hassle Gauruntee" it's impossible to clect on.

I decided that this weekend I was going to get some stuff done around the house and so I went down…read moreto Lowe's for supplies. I generally go here because they are the closest to my house and they have always taken good care of me and this time was no exception. This weekend I was working on 2 projects, fixing under the sink and getting counter top for the bar. My first stop was to counter tops to get a quote. They were very helpful and informative and after explaining what I was planning recommended their pre-built laminate counter tops (I didn't want to wait several weeks for custom just for a bar in the basement). After that I went down to the wood where they cut some MDF for me that I used to repair under my sink. All the cuts were the right size and it all fit perfectly when I installed it. This place is great for building supplies and the staff is really helpful. I would definitely recommend them.

Had a horrible experience with their appliance department which would really make me think twice…read moreabout ordering any appliance from Home Depot ever, ever, ever again, but overall the experience in this store is fine. Aside from their appliance logistics, every employee has always been nice and helpful. Special shout out to the guys in the wood/carpentry department for being extra cool and helpful. Their staff have helped me load in a grill to a van and really gone above and beyond while helping out. So skip the appliances, but fan for other building needs.

We had the Home Depot contractors come and refinish our kitchen. Reface cabinets, new cupboard doors, and a peninsula built. The sales guy Andrew (who said "I'm not a typical sales guy") was extremely pleasant btw told us for an order placed on 9-24-2025, we would be completed for that Thanksgiving. Construction started on 12-29-2025 and I signed the complete paperwork in February or March. We were told we shouldn't have been told that from our not-sales guy. Too much to say here. Bottom line is we are extremely disappointed with most of it. Things don't line up, cupboard doors needed to be reordered at least twice, soft close hinges and slides get stuck and the material chips very easily. For $20k plus, we feel taken with the poor quality and length of time taken to complete ESPECIALLY being told a lie. And of course no one will return our calls or emails. Now I know people probably have had positive experiences and that's fantastic! We were not one of them.
