This is the very first time I've had a bad experience with them. I don't know where the miscommunication was and I don't fully know what to do with my suit jacket now. I paid and left today which honestly I probably should've pushed back a bit. While I asked for a hem, I triple checked with the receptionist that it wouldn't look strange and she recommended I don't open it from the shoulder as it would be more costly and that the standard hem would be sufficient and they do this quite often on blazers. I was a bit confused but given they've shortened coats / jackets and move buttons and fastenings up before, I didn't entirely disagree with her logic. I picked up the suit today and I just don't understand why this was even a good idea. I don't know if it's because the tailor wasn't there and the instructions weren't clear... I just don't know... I Googled some dry cleaners and this was the place I chose. As long as they could get the stain out, I would be willing to pay. It was a pretty rough stain to begin with and they did a good job on it. The fabric felt different when I got it back, but maybe it's because I had never cleaned it before. The stain was gone enough where I could wear it in public without worry. If you do have particular spots on an item you want worked on, it's best you let them know so they can note them all. I seem to get the same older gentleman here helping me and he's always been nice. -- PRICING -- Prices are relatively high, but you're in Midtown Manhattan. Leather and wool items will cost a penny, but regular suit jackets and pants are reasonable. -- CLEANING TIME -- They give you an estimated time when you drop your clothes off and they've been on time every time I've been here. If you want to check, give them a call in advance. Once, I forgot about a blazer for a few months, but luckily they will keep your things up to six months. -- SUMMARY -- All it takes is one stain on an expensive piece of clothing until you truly understand the value of a good dry cleaner. I did my laundry here twice, as I often end up needing to do laundry when I'm in Manhattan on long stretches, which honestly involve sleeping in the car if Barbie's not with me, because I'm trying to save money. Overall it's a good spot to do laundry, but the prices have gone up significantly in the last few years, probably since the customers have become more hipster and more wealthy. **** I accidentally wrote 2 reviews for this... so here's the other. I dropped my laundry out of a plane while flying over Manhattan. So where did the Laundry Land? On 1st Avenue, of course. Right here... at this wash-n-dry facility. I used this laundromat on many occasions when I was sleeping in lower Manhattan for a short time (in my car, shut up don't judge), but these days I only come here if I'm traveling and desperately need some clean clothes, and honestly New York isn't the best place to do that. But it wasn't too horribly expensive considering it was in Manhattan, but I heard it's closed down. I hope it's not true, but I have a feeling it is true, and that would be a shame.
