Our experience performing at Stan Mansion was phenomenal. We can't wait to perform there again! Not just for the beautiful space and acoustic, but for another chance to connect with Cera Stan. The location is superb, parking is easy, and it is close to some of the most reliable public transportation in the city. The grand ballroom is large and unique and the whole mansion has more than one large gathering space. There are restrooms on every floor and there's a gorgeous view of trees from the bar. Delightful historical details abound and dimmable chandeliers and sconces and other special light features enhance the magic of the space. The acoustic is phenomenal for live music. We used Stan Mansion as our venue for our NYE wedding and it was incredible. I fell in love with Stan Mansion when we first visited it. t is truly beautiful and such a unique venue. All of our wedding guests were blown away by it. We had our ceremony in the downstairs ballroom and our reception upstairs. The owner Cera is really great and helpful and always has recommendation for other vendors that she likes to work with. We worked with their in house day of coordinator, Kathy, and she was the best part of my wedding planning. She was with me every step of the way and really helped make my wedding so special. I am still on a high from my wedding 2 days ago, and Stan Mansion is a huge reason why. Cera, the owner, is such a pleasure to work with. Lale, the day-of coordinator (YES, HIRE HER, SHE IS WORTH IT) is an event planner rock star. All the staff is helpful and nice. Stan Mansion doesn't require much additional decor as the building is beautiful, but they also have tons of "wedding goodies" to help add to the look you want. Our wedding was at the Stan Mansion in September of this year. We had the ceremony and reception there. First of all, Cera (the owner) is great to work with. Really sweet, professional and shares in the excitement of your big day. Her team is also wonderful, we worked with Kevin a lot, especially the days leading up to the wedding and he was so helpful! Now the venue itself...awesome! I couldn't believe this gem was tucked away in the heart of Logan Square. We feel in love with this place the minute we saw it and knew our wedding had to be there. It's unique, has classic charm and can be transformed into whatever vision you may have. We used D'absolute Catering (they were awesome) and Art of imagination for special lighting and fabric (also awesome). I've said it before and I'll say it again.. our wedding was a dream come true. Stan Mansion was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding. It was beautiful in every way, and the people were so easy and accommodating throughout the planning process. Every single step of the process from the initial meeting, to the booking, to the vendor selection, to the day of the wedding - it was all unbelievably easy, stress-free, and fit exactly with the vision we had for our big day. They provided a list of "suggested vendors", and we pretty much booked solely vendors from the list. All of these vendors knew the venue extremely well, making the process extremely smooth. We worked with Irene from Stan Mansion from day 1, and ended up booking her as our day-of wedding coordinator. She was unbelievably helpful during the entire planning process, and made the day of the wedding go as smoothly as possible. Any little issues that popped up, she would take care of immediately. We did both the ceremony and reception in the upstairs room (with cocktail hour in between) and it was perfect - no hassle in changing over the room between the 2 parts. We also chose to also book the bridal suite for the night before the wedding, which we would highly recommend - it is amazing, and so unbelievably convenient to have the space before/during the wedding. read more

We hosted a sorority formal event at Stan Mansion, and our experience could not have been better. Cera and Kathy were absolutely wonderful to correspond with and did everything they could to help us achieve our vision for our event. They recommended vendors for us to work with and were overall incredibly accommodating. The space is so huge but at the same time so warm and welcoming. The Stan Mansion is awful. While it is certainly a unique venue, I have never worked with ruder, more careless people than the owner and staff of Stan Mansion. Cera was one of the meanest venue owners I have ever encountered and I vow to never work with her ever again... There are many "highlights" from my night working with them for a friend and client's recent event there including the following: 1) the owner standing with her hand on her hip demanding the bride pay her the rest of the money she owed her with her palm out, ready to take it 2) the owner and her staff sitting back, smoking away upstairs while utter chaos went on downstairs which was in her own words "not their problem" 3) the "blame game" going back and forth between owner and caterer as to who should be handling what; basically a total lack of organization 5) the condition of the actual venue (the broken couch in the ladies room, the warped wooden gym floors with old tape on them in the ceremony room, the lack of A/C in the bar area...) 6) the lack of care paid to the bride's needs and getting her vision achieved. Her cake table was missing, her cell phone went missing/was stolen and they could've cared less, etc... Basically, the place was a total nightmare and I only wish it hadn't been since the bride is such a nice, deserving woman who had such high hopes for this unique space. While everything ended up being "pretty" from the guests' perspective--It was obvious to everyone that a cake arriving with no table to put it on, they all sweated to death trying to get a drink at the bar, they all saw the ghetto couch in the ladies room... My advice, avoid Stan Mansion at all costs if you want to have a wedding/event that is memorable for all the right reasons and a venue staff that treat you with all of the respect and care that you deserve. read more

This place is a 2.5 star when it is undecorated and MAYBE a 4 star when it is done up - if you do it up right. I was looking for a unique venue to hold my wedding reception (however ended up in a hotel in the end) and wanted to check out the Stan Mansion. The pictures online look amazing and I wanted to see if the venue is as good as it looks on the web. First impression: This *is* a giant mansion. It's historic with beautiful stonework on the outside. Here are my thoughts: 1. Spring was near and it was starting to thaw - the outside on the lawn was covered with dog feces and cigarette butts. Not attractive. Although I DO understand the spring thaw does bring numberous suprises, usually unpleasant ones. But if you're trying to showcase your venue, please clean it up! 2. I had trouble finding the leasing office. It's upstairs. Just follow the smell of the cigarette smoke, because someone smokes inside it. 3. Once you're in the office, you'll notice beautiful high ceilings, marble flooring and a leather couch. Nice office furniture, completely different from the rest of the mansion 4. Met with Cera who is pleasant and talkative. She was patient and very honest with pricing. She has a good array of albums for you to see how the space can work out once it's decorated. 5. The halls are huge. However, I did notice this place is run down. I asked if there were any intentions to update it, spackle, paint, new floors, etc. and Cera said that they have to apply for numerous permits to do that because it is a historic building. I found it hard to believe because their office had been updated!! 6. The space DOES have alot of potential, but there are several problems here if you plan on doing an event. Minuses: a) there is no air-conditioning. You may have to rent some units. b) there is no kitchen. If you plan on having a buffet, it *might* work. but if you plan to have a sit down course dinner, you may have a problem finding a caterer that will work in the TINY catering space that is offer. It is no bigger than a home bathroom. c) You have to organize everything yourself to have an event here, from tables, chairs, linens, utensils, and you MUST spend money on decorating. d) the bar area is really gawdy, but turn down the lights and light it up with tree lights and cover everything with linens and it can look pretty good. Pluses: a) if you do plan to decorate the space, they do use the services of "art of imagination" who did the Yelp Halloween Party as well as MY wedding (I called Deborah at Art of Imagination visiting the Mansion) and she did an AMAZING job. b) The venue space is unique and affordable. If you have time and imagination, you can make this place a real gem. For me however, I didn't have the coordination skills to pull it off, and I didn't want a buffet. c) The acoustics are pretty good, great for bands or a DJ to spin all night. read more

They have a super nice staff (shout out to Irene being the best coordinator ever) and a beautiful elegant historic scenery. I would recommend this place to all of my couples! My partner and I held our civil union ceremony and party for 150 guests at Stan Mansion in September 2012. It's a very handsome event space, but that's all it is: a blank canvas. It's not an end-to-end solution for your party, but a starting point. We're not professional party-planners, so we had to learn some hard lessons about using such a venue. It was the best day of my life and I have no regrets. But if you're more DIY-oriented or have special needs like we did, this may not be the venue for you. Expect to spend time, effort and money to get what you want out of the Stan. Even the lighting that's right there in the ballroom costs extra to configure. Ultimately we threw a cool-looking party and had a blast with our guests, but the stress along the way was considerable. If you plan to do anything outside the norm - for example, using a friend's vegetarian restaurant to cater - make sure you go over your expectations in very specific detail with the Stan team. Your caterers won't even be able to set up until hundreds of chairs are hauled out from the food prep room and into the ballroom. Don't confuse the venue's "day of coordinator" (available for an additional fee) for your very own wedding planner. Do recruit a friend or hire an event professional to play traffic cop with your vendors, because there will be a zillion of them: bartenders, wait staff, caterers, delivery folks, security, etc. Given that the Stan is typically booked for different events on consecutive days, I'd plan to arrive extremely early on the day of so you can make sure everything is where it needs to be. Otherwise you'll find yourself putting out fires at the last minute. For example, we found ourselves without tablecloths two hours before our guests were due to stream in. We'd spent $600 on awesome linens from the Stan's approved vendor, but the Stan staff lost them in the basement after they were delivered two days ahead of the event. Luckily, our friend the vegetarian caterer was able to find some (much less picturesque) tablecloths, but the stress on her and us was considerable. Credit where credit's due: After some back and forth, Stan Mansion accepted responsibility for the screw-up and compensated us for the $600 in linens we didn't get to use. I appreciated Cera and Kevin's willingness to meet me halfway, even though I also wished they had under-promised and over-delivered in the first place. Our experience at Stan Mansion wasn't perfect, but our guests didn't seem to notice. And ultimately, we really enjoyed being able to throw our event at a cool brownstone just blocks from our home in Logan Square. If you walk into the Stan knowing exactly what to expect, you can throw a great party there without any of the surprises we experienced. read more

My fiance and I made an appointment to see Stan Mansion with Cera a week in advance, and I was really excited about it after looking at pictures and thinking about the versatility of the space. I should have checked yelp first, as similar to the comments of others, Cera never showed up for our appointment. Nobody knew we were supposed to be there, and the girl in the office looked annoyed and could barely look up from her phone. She called Kevin, who told us Cera was sick and that he had failed to look at her calendar. He then stated that we could come back tomorrow. No thanks. The beauty of the place wasn't impressive enough to warrant dealing with that kind of rudeness and it smelled of cigarettes. We both rearranged our hectic schedules to see this venue, the first venue we actually saw in Chicago, and braved the Friday traffic to be sorely disappointed. If they can't get organized enough to have someone available during a scheduled appointment, I can't trust them with my wedding. read more

This place is beautiful, absolutely stunning! They host open houses with a variety of vendors often that you should check out if you're considering this venue, half of the vendors we chose we found at their open house. You can however chose your own vendors as long as they have the proper licensing and insurance. I was just married here and my guests are still gushing about how awesome my venue was. Instead of the usual review, I thought I would give you some tips and things I learned that I wish I knew... -This place is historical, and did I mention beautiful? That being said, there is no elevator. So many stairs! By the end of the weekend my body was in some serious pain from all of the set up, wedding fun, and break down. It was also hard for my elderly guests and those in wheelchairs so make sure you're aware of that so you can prepare for any special needs. -Take a look at everything when it isn't set up for a wedding or an open house to see what you're truly working with. The draping they often have up is very beautiful but it is also pricey, so I suggest you go to see what it looks like when it is just the venue. (Before you fall in love with the expensive draping like we did!) The ceremony room downstairs is a concrete room so draping that was a must for us, but in my opinion the ball room doesn't need to be covered up. The mansion is beautiful itself and the details were a wonderful part of my wedding decor! -This venue is one that you bring everything in, EVERYTHING! The only thing they have there are tables, chairs, and a tiny kitchen space a small sink. You will need to keep that in mind when choosing vendors as they are not able to cook on sight nor are they able to wash dishes. If renting glasses, plates and silverware you would have to order enough to accommodate having no dishwasher. You are able to chose your own vendors, but I highly recommend choosing those that have worked at the Mansion before. Also know that all beverages at the bar will require ice as there is NO refrigeration, and you will need to bring or rent coolers for the ice. Oh, and speaking of beverages let's not forget that you can BYOB! *The city of Chicago requires that you have a liquor license to serve your guests, so you will need to find a place that can provide you the use of theirs as the Mansion does not have one. Keep that in mind when weighing your options, yes you save by bringing your own alcohol but the license use is pricey and it was hard to find a company with the proper licensing. Might be better to go with an all inclusive liquor package provided by a properly licensed vendor.* -The bridal suite upstairs is absolutely stunning and I highly recommend booking it. It was so nice to be right there by the venue in the morning and I know my photos will be gorgeous due to the suite being so beautiful. -Just like anywhere else, it is going to be more expensive during peak summer months and on Saturdays. What I didn't realize, not living in the city myself, is that everything else on the city went up in price as well. Take that into consideration when choosing a date or considering this venue for your summer, Saturday wedding. I only had 2 people book the hotel we had a room block at because it was too expensive. Usually their rooms were $89 a night but on a Saturday in June they were over $200! -The Mansion also offers the use of a parking lot at a school about a block away which was super helpful! I had a lot of out of town guests and people that weren't familiar with the city and parking would've been a nightmare without the use of the lot. -Due to a lot of unfortunately circumstances I was not able to go in before my wedding for a final run through and meeting. Don't do this! I highly recommend going there, a few times, right before your wedding to assure you don't run into last minute issues like I did. Finding out about a serious issue that could've been avoided literally minutes before I got married was awful. -If it's in your budget I highly recommend hiring a wedding planner, either through them or on your own. This is definitely a place where you're going to want at least day of coordination. PROS -beautiful, unique, customizable, you can use real flames with your candles as long as they are covered, did I mention this place is beautiful??, use of nearby school parking lot, byob, chose your own vendors, amazing bridal suite option, and the owner is absolutely amazing & she genuinely cares for all of her brides. She went above and beyond for me! CONS -pricey considering nothing is included, have to rent/buy literally everything needed to throw a wedding (linens, plates, food warmer, ice cooler, etc) not a lot of nearby hotel options for guests and no shuttle services, inconsistencies in their office and long response times, liquor licensing requirements, no elevator, due to the type of building it did get very hot even though AC was on, and it's the city there will always be traffic. read more

I hosted my first annual fundraising gala benefiting the Prostate Cancer Foundation at Stan Mansion this year. I could not have picked a better venue! It fit perfectly with my roaring 20's theme and Irene was extremely accommodating to my needs. All of the attendees were in awe at how beautiful the venue is. The bar area, located just outside of the banquet hall, creates a unique atmosphere compared to hosting an entire event in one banquet hall. Anyone married in the crowd will know without a shred of uncertainty that one of the most difficult aspects of planning any wedding is picking the venue. After all, under who? what? where? when? and why?, it's the third thing after figuring who who is getting married. So, it can be overwhelming when there are so many places trying to get you to book your special day. When my then-fiance and I were narrowing down places to tentatively tie the know, we waffled back and forth. Navy Pier and Downtown Chicago proper wasn't just far beyond any budget we had in mind, it would've been gratuitously inconvenient. So, progressively moving outwards from the heart of the Windy City, and my fiance recalling how amazing a previous wedding she'd attended there had been, we found ourselves making introductions with Cera and Kevin at Stan Mansion. a 1920's-styled off-white mansion, the history and beautiful architecture of the place practically seethes into the air when you walk onto the property. It's truly a sight to behold as it sits nestled behind a gated fence and shrubbery off Kedzie and Fullerton. It's close enough to the city to give you the flavored charm without the inconvenience of fighting your way into The Loop or up the Magnificent Mile. Sitting down with Kevin and Cera, we began laying out the date we intended to have the wedding and they were more than happy to toss out ideas, show us around and immediately gave us the impression that they not only knew what they were doing, but knew it well beyond any shadow of a doubt. Given our wedding would be in the off-season, they were more than happy to cut us a spectacular deal and, while offering us a list of vendors they had worked with in the past, assured us the utmost coordination with anyone who would be part of our big day. A small snag three days before the wedding with KO Valet whom we'd hired for the day, and which resulted in a breach of contract on their part, was adeptly handled by Kevin as he found us another valet who would be willing to work for the same price, time and offer the same level of service reminded us that we'd made the right choice. But when the big day rolled around roughly two days later, they made well beyond good on their word. It was amazing. Everything came together better than a plan hatched by the A-Team. From the smallest minutia up through the grand scheme of things, every single detail was touched upon beautifully. Art of Imagination, our fabric company, made the place look even greater than we could have hoped. J&L, our catering company, was on-site coordinating with Kevin and both executed every last task with exceptional gusto going far and beyond any expectations that my now-wife and I had set out for the day. In fact, they ensured other vendors were on the same sheet of music, delivering the same level of outstanding service. It was a orchestral level of service combined in concert that neither of us had ever experienced or witnessed and were thrilled. Stan Mansion brought their A Game. Going forward, would we ever host another event at Stan Mansion? Without a doubt. There is something ridiculously comforting about knowing that for the price we paid, we got triple the service. That Kevin, Cera and the rest of the team at Stan Mansion are more than happy to work to the very best of their ability to make sure our special day was truly as exceptional as it could be. It's difficult to put a price on peace of mind, but on our wedding day, Stan Mansion ensured we had just that. The first time I visited this hall was on the Logan Square Preservation Society's annual House and Garden Walk. Opening the door into the banquet hall I felt kind of like Lucy opening a wardrobe into Narnia. "How the hell does this big auditorium fit into an apartment building?" (Turns out, because it's connected to the next building over). At the time, renovations were just beginning, and this hidden auditorium still hinted at its faded glory from the days before transit improvements transformed Logan Square into more of a bedroom community. More recently, this "hall for rent" hosts concerts sponsored by the Empty Bottle, a New Year's Eve party, and the Romanian Film Festival. Reason to root for the increase in gas prices, that this hall, along with the pillared hall across the street (which once hosted big-name jazz acts and is now a church) might relive their jazz-age charm. read more

I have to admit, I was a bit nervous when we first rented the place. I thought it was going to take a lot of money and drapery to really make the place look nice, but to our surprise, a few months before the wedding we met with our vendor there and they had touched up the paint, cleaned the carpets and installed new lighting at the bar. It look beautiful! I was so happy!!! They even had new air conditioning put in and everything. The place was beautiful. The only thing that bothered me was that it det a little hot in there and we paid for mandatory security that showed up extremely late. But besides that, the wedding was perfect and I was extremely happy with the place. I loved the fact that we could bring our own vendors and even have our liquor delivered. read more

I just recently had my wedding here, and I couldn't have been happier! Kevin and Cera were so wonderful to work with, and the venue was perfect for the 100+ people we had as guests. I loved how much was available just for renting the venue. On top of that, the place is breath-takingly beautiful. It was perfect for our friends who use public transportation as well as walking to get everywhere, and super friendly for those who drove, though we did opt for the use of the parking lot and valet service. I was conflicted on whether I should give a 2 or 3 star review for my experience here but cons definitely outweighed the pros. We had just hosted our engagement party here and quite frankly it was a disappointment. Don't get me wrong, the mansion itself is beautiful but the management was upsetting. I had spoken to Irene and Cera a week prior to the event on seating arrangement/table placements and whether or not my requests were feasible since I had 200 guests. I was assured that the seating arrangement I had chosen would be easy to arrange because they "always host large parties." I was also told that we could set up a day prior to the engagement and all of the tables and chairs would be ready to go. Our package included access to the entire mansion from 10AM-2AM including set up and clean up. Fast forwarding to day of: my sisters arrived at the mansion at 10 AM and nothing was set up- no chairs or tables. After addressing this to Irene, one man was setting up 27 tables and 200 chairs by himself. My sister was frustrated at how unorganized and tedious this process was for one man that she took the initiative to help and set up the tables and chairs as well. My sisters had to constantly address Irene and Cera that nothing was going as planned. Cera then stated that the seating arrangement we had discussed and chosen a week prior was not feasible. My sister confronted Cera and told her that what we agreed on is what needs to be abided by since our seating chart was already made. The seating arrangement I chose was not implemented however we did get some type of arrangement. What should've taken an hour to set up took 4 because of the setback of nothing being ready. As told, we had access to the entire mansion including first floor ballroom to take pictures however after a couple hours into the event, the first floor ballroom was locked and we no longer had access to it. As expected, things got worse. During the event I had noticed a man who constantly kept asking for water and coffee and nagging to my sister that the coffee isn't being made fast enough- I didn't recognize the man and just thought he may have been a guest however it came to my knowledge that he was the owner's husband who basically crashed our event but was apparently "hired" to be our security... at the end of the event, this man got into an argument with my father, my cousin's husband, my brother in-law, my sisters and myself on all separate occasions. He completely spoiled my entire night with his rudeness and unprofessionalism. Our event ended at 11 so we started to clean up. Cera's(owner) husband kept rushing us to finish although we had the mansion until 2 AM to clean up. He kept getting hostile and told us to throw all of our sweets and appliances away that way we can get out. He was being so hostile and unprofessional that I had to confront him for his poor attitude. At the end of the night he apologized but an apology can't make up for his rudeness and hostility. As a side note- the management is sneaky in a sense where they will charge you for unnecessary things and make you think you're getting a deal. Also, we had extra sweets under a table just in case we needed back up but found out the ants all attacked it. I was very excited to host my engagement party here because it was so beautiful and different but the unorganized, unprofessional staff and false promises were truly upsetting. read more

Their website advertised an open house, so I'm still wondering why when my fiance' and I appeared the staff looked so annoyed. For goodness sakes, they didn't even say "how can I help you?" Within about 30 seconds we were so turned off by the attitude of the people in the office that we knew we wouldn't rent the place, but I spent about 5 minutes trying to extract information from the terrible salesperson. She never asked our names, just started to flip through the date book telling us which weekends in 2015 were already full. She reluctantly gave a half-hearted tour (again after I prompted her). I can say it wasn't Cera or Kevin and maybe if you encounter them you'd have a good experience, but they should really have a talk with their team and train them not to answer questions with "I'm new." read more

I'm hoping this will help the current ownership because my future maid of honor and I just went to the most recent Open House and we were completely turned off. -no one there to greet us -no complete pamphlet or something similar to take home -tears in the carpet -dirty walls -the kitchen floor was sticky, and my shoes remind sticky 15 minutes after that -blocked fire escape -the stage area had loose wires that my maid of honor is convinced smelled like electrical fire -beer bottles strewn about, opened and unopened -no discernible organization in their basement space -curtain quality seemed not only low, but unable to change it I can't consider this place for my wedding next year if this is the state of the place for an open house, when the staff is unavailable to clean the place up, let alone greet me at the door. read more

What a random little place. Very easy to miss. This is a deceptively large mansion used to house (from what I am gathering) all types of events. I went to watch a play reading, but obviously, from these reviews, they do all kinds of things. There was a Zumba class going on in the basement while the play reading was going on in the ballroom (upstairs). My partner and I recently (September 14th) had our ceremony at the Stan Mansion. We live in Zürich, Switzerland, so unlike most couples, we had to conduct most of our communications from abroad. Kevin (our ceremony coordinator) and Cera (the owner) were very pleasant to work with from the start. They were flexible to speak with and listened to all our unique ideas to make it a special day for us. They made us feel like we weren't just another couple looking to have just another ceremony....but that our day truly mattered to them and to Stan Mansion. When we entered the Mansion on the day of the ceremony we were blown away that Kevin listened and created exactly what we had envisioned. He did everything perfect, according to our drawings and exceeded our expectations. My partner and I come from the events and hotel industry so exceeding our expectations was not going to be easy. My wife and I held our wedding here earlier this summer, and it fit our needs perfectly. The biggest selling point about the mansion is that is basically completely customizable. You can bring in any vendors you want, decorate however you want, and the hours are flexible. If you value having control over the details of your wedding there wasn't another venue we came across in our search that gives you so much leeway. The space itself is quite large. Our wedding was 150 people but I feel like the venue could have held 200 easily. The mansion is beautiful but it definitely is a blank slate. This is not like a hotel ballroom; you have to spend a lot of time and money and decorating. But for us this was a plus because that meant we could have more control over the end product which gave our wedding a much more personal feel. After going to so many weddings that pretty much look the same, we felt lucky to find a venue that allowed us to veer from the norm. Be warned though, you have to put effort into decorating; there is nothing cookie cutter about the space. There is a fairly large bar area in the back as well (it got a little crowded during the cocktail hour) and you can bring in your own alcohol (humongous cost savings!). There is no kitchen area so you pretty much have to serve the food buffet style. This worked out well for us because we had two of our favorite restaurants cater the food (also so much cheaper and tastier than hotel food). I felt like we were able to put the money we saved on food and alcohol into decorating which made for a great event overall. Everyone loved the food, the liquor was better than most weddings I've been to, and the space got so many compliments for being unique and elegant. If you're willing to put the time and energy into it, there is no limit to how great your event at Stan Mansion can be. Also I have to mention how great it was to work with Cera Stan, the owner of the mansion. She is always cheerful and very accommodating. She frequently met with us after 8 or 9 at night and said yes to nearly every request we made. When we were putting up lights along the entrance path we realized that our extension cord wasn't long enough. She immediately went into her house (she lives next door) and found an extension cord for us and plugged us in. She also has many contacts with vendors around Chicago and lots of experience putting on weddings, so she served as an invaluable resource for us in planning our wedding. We couldn't have been happier with how our wedding day turned out, and we feel lucky we found such a unique place to host our event. read more

My Wedding was on beautiful! Cera and staff, I heart Kevin, did a wonderful job of making our cocktail hour a night to remember. Due to traffic several of my guests we running behind so the Stan team allowed a little more time to ensure all of our guests we there. Kevin was monitoring and keeping me updated as I waited to be revealed. I had not seen the ballroom as I had been in" hiding". When I came downstairs I felt like the bell of the ball. Cera and team had little extras everywhere, a cake, a beautiful fresh flower bouquet and champagne for toasting. I can only speak for my event but the staff put their hear into making my wedding personalized, unique and unforgettable. Thank you! Venue: The entry table was Gorgeous. There was a bouquet of roses in the entry and the main table was candle lit and very romantic. The entry upstairs was crisp containing only what was needed. The Lounge area was the BOMB, it was my favorite part! Think Casablanca infused with a mans smoking lounge! Total Cocktail hour...loved it. The main ballroom was decked out with sofa's and chairs for extra seating. Several round tables adorned the ballroom which were topped with my favors. I was romantically chic! Food: The food was amazing! I got nothing but compliments! We used the Stan Mansions vendor Cocina Fusion. Anaxi and Juliana deliver great customer service....oh and FOOD!!! Since it was Cocktail hour we had Brushetta, Chiptole Meatballs and Spinach Empanadas. The feedback from all the guests was one of delight.....the food is good especially the meatballs! The food was promptly served, well stocked and Anaxi was in communication with me throughout the night. Officiant: Michelle Rose what can I say...She is a great communicator and allows you to have the ceremony you have in mind. Michelle has great follow up, ideas and is very professional Music: StandandClap with Don......Fantastic. Don is on his game, you can select your play list and simply submit. Yup that's it. We had our wedding at The Stan last night and it was a dream. Kevin started working with us about 9 months ago and was incredibly kind and receptive to our every idea and notion. He was especially patient through the actual day and his synergy with the caterers was fluid and professional. We really have no complaints. The main area is beautiful, classic and morphs easily into a variety of configurations for different events. The bar where we had cocktails is a bit smaller but incredibly charming and pub like. The bar was awesome, frankly. The Stan is very willing to work with you to achieve your dream day, but they are also very honest and straight forward about what they're not willing or able to do. My brother and I carried in many decor elements (chairs, couches, etc.), as well as all of our own booze the day before, but that was no surprise to us as Kevin had made it apparent in earlier meetings that WE would be responsible for certain elements of the over all day. The mansion is beautiful, but it is an older building and lacks an elevator (the main ballroom is on the second floor), so if you plan an event that includes elderly relatives, be aware of that fact. This is not a criticism; simply a fact of the space. Also, parking options are available but limited. The Stan does offer valet, and has a relationship with a local lot a few blocks away. All in all, we had a wonderful, beautiful ceremony, cocktail hour and reception there. The space is unique and of a particular, beautiful character. It may not suit every couple's needs, but between an army of recommended vendors and the hard work of the staff (again, Kevin), the Stan will work hard to give you what you want. read more

If you are looking for the quintessence of vintage elegance, look no further. The unique building can be done up however you like and Kevin will help make that happen, but vintage elegance is its natural beauty. Cera and Kevin have such an inviting approach to help make your perceptual ideas a reality for any big occasion, especially your wedding! Everytime my wife and I threw an idea to Kevin he would show us decorations that he had to give us a better visual idea. Best part was, if we liked the decorations, we could use them for FREE. Stan Mansion works with ample "partner" companies that frequent the venue. Whether it's lighting/draping, food/liquor (catering) , photo booths, etc. Kevin has a company and contact info for you to get what you want at the price you want. Not to mention the venue itself is affordable and will make for one of the most beautiful weddings in the city. All that aside, Kevin is the real deal. If you decide to make this your venue, he will make certain that everything is as you requested and goes above and beyond to create your perfect evening. It wasn't until my wife and I got to our honeymoon, did my wife remember to tell me how Kevin went from awesome to incredible. Kevin knew she wanted Champagne served for the actual ceremony. Being a hectic day, she forgot the flutes and Kevin went and bought some on his own and made it all happen. Stan Mansion was just exactly what I wanted for my Hollywood Glam wedding theme. I had 3 desires for my wedding venue: 1. Something unique in a part of the city that all my friends and family were familiar with 2. Vintage theatre vibe with plenty of room to eat and dance 3. Only one event booking at a time I was able to get everything that I desired in this venue.The owner, Cera, is very personable and accomodating. Before the wedding, she let me show of the wedding venue more than a few times so that close family and friends that were helping with the wedding could get an idea for the space. Before the wedding, she let us decorate just the way that we wanted to without any objections. Afterward, She was gracious enough to let us wait a couple days before we took the decorations down as well. 1 year later, my husband and I both contacted Cera separately to see if she would allow us to come back to celebrate our anniversary. Neither of us knew that the other had contacted her, but she played it off very well to both of us. We were able to celebrate our 1st anniversary there, and bask in the nostalgia of our wedding day. She set up a beautiful sweetheart table with sparkling cider (because we don't drink) and dessert at no charge to us. She was simply thrilled that we had come back to celebrate our anniversary.We were so happy for what she did for us. Our wedding, rescheduled 3 times due to the pandemic, was everything we hoped thanks to Cera, Kathy and the whole team at Stan Mansion. It is such a beautiful venue with multiple rooms to hold your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. They were so flexible to work with and really help you make your wedding day special and unique to you. We highly recommend adding the day-of planner if you choose Stan Mansion as your venue. Kathy provided way more than just "day-of" support! She coordinated with all of our vendors for months leading up to our wedding day and we didn't have to think about a single detail on the day. The bridal suite is also worth every penny to add on to your day. We had hair and makeup for 11 done in the bridal suite, which provided a great place for photos and a relaxed day getting ready. It was also a great place during our reception for kids to escape with the babysitter when they needed a break from the party. This place is fantastic! read more

I have not signed a contract here (yet)... but absolutely loved both the space and the employees (and owner). We were greeted just moments after walking into the building and instantly felt welcomed. Lisa also came down moments after arriving, and was super patient with our group throughout the entire tour. Side note: I visited the space with my mother and two aunties. All three of which are extremely vocal and opinionated, and Lisa was just awesome! After the tour, we met with Sara/Sarah... and we were just blown away. She's absolutely amazing at both "keeping it real," and being helpful. We literally all sat there discussing ideas and nearby restaurants to check out. The space itself is beautiful. Plain at first sight - but it has the potential to be transformed into ANYTHING you want! Sarah/Sarah has photos of many different weddings that have been hosted there, and each one was breathtaking. Worth visiting! I think the only thing taking me aback is the fact that parking is a block away... I read a review stating they offered valet parking, so I'll have to look into that :) Congrats on getting engaged, I hope you pay Stan Mansion a visit. I promise you won't regret it! read more

The Stan Mansion is quite a unique venue in Logan Square. It's a wonderful place to hold an event and the possiblities are endless. The owner has a wonderful way with people and helps guide each event to it's potential from an array of wonderful vendors who are fabulous yet price conscious and allowing you to bring in your own liquor...can't beat that! But the best thing she truly cares about each and every event...she's there from the beginning to the end. She also does alot for her community by opening her venue to local non- profit organizations with a cause. My boyfriend and I attended a NYE party at Stan Mansion, and we had a blast. From the outside, the place really blends in with the Logan Square neighborhood. Inside, there are several different rooms including a large dance floor with stage and space for a few different bars. This could help break up any large event, or potentially give the opportunity to just use a smaller space. The mansion could be decorated to fit any theme. On NYE, it was Alice in Wonderland. The coat check on the bottom floor was well organized, and the bathrooms were nice. The food was buffet style and decent, and the staff was friendly. I'll keep this place in mind if I plan an event anytime soon. read more

I knew I wanted to get married in this mansion from the moment I saw the ballroom. This venue is nothing short of gorgeous. All of our guests were impressed with the details of the mansion. It is the type of venue for a more hands on planner but the coordinators (Lale, Cera, and Elena) will make sure your day goes on with minimal to no issues. As a Chef I have had the luxury of seeing the "behind the scenes" of a wide variety of event venues and spaces in Chicago (and nationally) I have to say, in all honesty - there is none I know of where the curator of the space will go "the extra mile" to make certain that the event is EXACTLY what you want! Anything you can imagine - and they will transform it into a reality. As if they have magicians working on their design staff. If you are looking for an average event, to suit the masses - I am sure they could provide (but it would be a waste of incredible resources). But if you are seeking an event that people will drop their jaws and imagine "How did this ever happen" Truly Cera Stan and the crew are your best bet. The only question left in your mind will be "What do we do to top this - for next year?" On a side note, I am very happy to see the build-out of the banquet kitchen, this makes food production there much cleaner, more professional, and just an overall better scenario. Too many "event spaces" do not take the time to build out a prep kitchen (because it is not needed?) but as a Chef who has worked in the industry for a long time - these details make all the difference in service, and the overall quality of an events production. read more
