im in the RVT program half way through the program, deans list every term so far and I JUST WANT TO QUIT. I'm tired of fighting the teachers for a good grade because it was their fault they lost my homework or, they gave the entire class the wrong final, or they didn't prepare us properly for the upcoming quiz. The stress level is TOO HIGH. I constantly wish that the people who take tours of the school don't ever come back because I would never want them to go through what I'm going through. The environment is set up like a "student verses teacher" vibe on everything. It's their word versus the students. There are students who are barely even passing by and receiving full credit on things that they're turning things in WEEKS late but when I, in the top five of my entire cohort, turn in something and receive an email from my teacher 2 weeks later because she can't find it, tells me to fill it out again and will only give me a 50% because it is now considered 2 weeks late-- i call bull. I meet every criteria on a freakin project and receive a 78%? for WHAT reasons?! bull. It's MY fault that my teacher lost a medical record and I now have to locate it for her? bull. Found medical record receives an attached homework and grade that isn't even mine. BULL. I can go on and on and on... little things build up until you explode like I am now. I'm tired of the staff deciding what's right for the students without ever consulting them first. I'm tired of incompetence, i'm tired of my classmates complaining, i'm tired of not being able to rely on the staff here when they say they're on my side, i'm tired of nobody able to listen and make a change, i'm tired of nobody doing ANYTHING for the benefits of the students here. It's ironic that it's a medical school and yet my health is the worst it's ever been because these people here stress me out so much. do yourself a favor and go to a school where they actually stick to their word and try to do what's really best for their students. read more

My OTA education at Stanbridge was great! I gained the skilled I needed to excel at my level I and II clinical sites. I learned to implement the theories I learned into clinical practice. The rotations picked for me were challenging but I was prepared because of the knowledge I gained at Stanbridge. I actually received job offers from both! I truly enjoy my 2 years here! read more

Stanbridge College has very little interest in the way they teach their students and are more interested in the money. In my experience, some of the teachers are not well qualified for the position to teach students and it seems to me that Stanbridge will find anyone to teach a course in their institute. The teachers at Stanbridge are also very rude. When a student will ask help for future exams certain teachers will respond in a rude way and deny help. As a student, this angers me to know that a student cannot count on certain instructors to help them pass an exam. Lastly, this school does not treat their students justly and is very unorganized with the curriculum. read more

I passed my Nclex! The school makes you go through judy miller and finish ATI and pass within a date range- 84 days after you graduate, but that includes weekends!!! I passed my first time, but passed the deadline by 9 days! I didn't get my refund on passing the nclex the first time. LAME! At least I passed though. read more

Just graduated a grueling 14 mo LVN program. The D.O.N. that was there when I started walked out mysteriously after we were there one month. She created these 6 hr long powerpoints that serves to fill 'clock' hours required for the program. These excruciatingly long powerpoints are read verbatim by the teachers for 6 hrs a day. As far as the tests go, there is really no need to review on your own. The teachers give you a review which is basically the test for the next day along with the answers. Unbelievable, yet true. Biggest complaint, the school needs to STRESS you must have either your CNA license or Caregiver experience if you expect to get any sort of job when you finish. There is a huge gap between finishing the program and getting a test date to take the NCLEX (UP TO 6 MO NOW). If you don't have your CNA lic, you will not find any work "Pending LVN Lic #". Not only that, even if you do pass your NCLEX, good luck finding a job as a new LVN grad. Everyone wants a min 1 yr experience. Now I am forced to spend even more money and time taking the CNA lic test just to work for $12-13 an hour while I wait for my NCLEX test date. Feels like I am going backwards. I wish the school recruiters had been more upfront and honest initially. If I had known that I would be spending $35k+ for an LVN lic which would be no use to me for a min of 6 months until I took the exam, I would have went straight to Cal State Fullerton and joined their nursing program. You need your BSN these days anyway not only job security but a decent living wage. Word of advice, just go straight to a regular college and get either an RN or BSN. It makes no sense to do this type of bridge. It really is a waste of time. . . oh and MONEY. read more

I completed the LVN program. Small issues arise with scheduling and stuff but nothing that wasn't addressed and dealt with. Your given every opportunity to be successful, and I feel very confident in my knowledge. The hospital clinical rotations are great! My experience at stanbridge was good. Made the best of it. Just finished the full-time lvn program 2 weeks ago. They have a lot of resources to help you pass. Lot of turouring available. I worked fulltime and managed a house hold as well as commuting about an hour to an hour and a half daily. The course is totally doable as long as you are willing to put in the effort. Yes there is a bit of things here and there that can be fixed but non of that interferred with me passing the program. Trust me there are worse schools than stanbridge. read more

Excellent LVN program, just only this school can give you the best place for clinical sites rotation. They have GREAT staffs from LRC, Career Service and Student Service. LVN program include 4 term ( 1 term: 3 months ( fulltime) or 6 months (parttime). 3 days theory and 2 days clinical (depend on term 1,2,3 and 4). Term 1 and 2 you can go to nursing home or rehab. Term 3 you can go the hospital in OR, ER, ICU, Med Sug... Term 4 has 2 12hrs night shift in OB with a lot experience, 12 days at West Anaheim Hospital in Mental Health and Med Sug and few week in pediatrics. You can change fulltime to parttime, it's up to you. They always help as you need and do the best what they can do to help their students. read more

My experience in the LVN program at Stanbridge College has been an amazing! I started in the part time program and switched to full time in term 3. Overall I feel it is a great school with supportive teachers and a staff that is friendly and helpful. I felt supported during every challenge I faced throughout the program whether personal or academic. Stanbridge College offers a Judy Miller NCLEX review, ATI NCLEX preparation and after school tutoring. I strongly suggest utilizing everything this school has to offer. I graduated from the LVN program in January 2016. If you are looking into going here, you HAVE to make sure you're reading the right reviews. What I mean is read the reviews that will pertain to your schedule. Stanbridge will get you ready for the NCLEX hands down. This school will not take it easy on you by any means no matter what's going on in your life. It's like a nurse boot camp. I was a part time student and finished the program in about 2.5 years. The exams are very challenging. But thankfully the instructors were great. All you need are the power points for the exams and then your ATI tests you will just need to take the pre tests. The text books are junk because the school does even pull test questions from them. The text books are just there if you need another way of something being explained to you. So yes, this school will help you pass the NCLEX. However!! This school is run by the WORST management I've ever seen. I'm not even sure what student services does because they don't help you! My records were misplaced several times, I got emails every day saying I missed class and when I followed up I was always told by Charles to "just ignore it." BUT when something would go wrong they would blame me for not following your emails or the syllabus! Which, you will often be told by student services to ignore because they can't seem to update it. The customer service is just horrible. You are nothing but a number to them. Part time student will not get the same treatment as full time. If you're part time, you won't get the same notes or study guides from the DON herself. You'll have to get those from friends because they think you have more time. As if you're not part time for a reason. I'm giving the school a 3 because even though it's poorly managed, they still got me ready to pass the NCLEX on the first try. You can't graduate unless you pass with a 90% chance of pass rate for the NCLEX. That and my instructors both lecture and clinical were amazing. They treat you like you're their baby and they know what it's like to be a student nurse. And they know how the school will treat you. So if you don't care about terrible customer service, ignored calls and emails, lost documents, not being treated the same as full time students and willing to make friends to get your hands on the good stuff and you're willing to micro manage student services because they can't seem to get it right... BUT you'll pass the NCLEX. Then by all means, sign up. P.S: the school offers what's called Judy Miller week. It's a full 40 hours of Ms.Judy (author of the NCLEX) to tutor you once you're about to graduate. Sounds good right? It's going the be the biggest waste of your time because you'll get tutored by her right before you take the ATI exit to graduate and your NCLEX probably won't be for another 4-5 months. You're better off not taking 40 hours off work and just doing the ATI make up work. It helps you to pass the Exit and Judy Miller uploads her power points to your student portal anyways. My cohort didn't find it helpful at all. read more

I took the technical Microsoft, A+, Linux curriculum here at this school back in 2000 when I was starting in the IT field. I'm only rating this school based on their IT, not nursing, program. I gained a lot of valuable experience and knowledge from my time here. I was able to use their lab and access study materials that helped me pass a number of exams. I was able to acquire a technical position within a month of completing my first couple exams and from there, I've been able to grow professionally in my career. As far as customer service, I have always received great attention and care with the mentors and instructors there. They helped assist me with updating my resume and mock interviews when I was just starting out there. I felt that they truly support the students in this field because after I had completed my programs and exam, I was able to return to take advantage of some refresher materials to improve my skills and complete additional tests. Since then, I have maintained a great relationship and have been able to ask questions and get answers I needed with regard to career decisions and my long term goals. I appreciate the customer service, support, and feedback I've received since I had started my formal education with their facility. Regarding their staff, there was a few instructors our class worked with and they were great! Everyone in our class seemed friendly and pretty supportive of each other and we were able have a great time during the whole program. read more

They provided me with the tools and equipment I needed to get a clear understanding of the information. But like anything being newly developed, there were still some kinks to be worked out. I completed my A+, CCNA and MCSE in 2005 and my experience at Stanbridge College was a very enjoyable one. I found the staff very helpful and courteous and was always willing to follow up with any concerns I had. No doubt, they expected me to do my part and focus on the training offered. To complete my home work assignments as required by the instructor. The instructors were very qualified and what I liked especially, all of them worked in IT industry and tailored their instruction to deal with everyday occurrences that one might experience in the work place. This gave me a lot of confidence knowing that I had the right tools and trouble shooting skills, when I entered the work place. The lab was by far the best I found locally of equivalent Colleges, offering the same courses. The lab training instructions installed on the computers reinforced the class instruction with additional information, making it a wholesome learning opportunity. It also had the equipment to configure and setup a small business network environment, for "hands on" practice. The lab study allowed you to work at your own pace and seemed like it was always available for use, even the weekends. The College was so good to me that they allowed me to do private study in the lab using material that I had previously utilized to further my education, even after I had left the College. I thought that went over and above their pay grade, to help me. You can see why I extol the dedication of the school, always wanting their students to succeed. I was in ADN 02. The 2 years journey was like a roller-coaster ride, full of ups and down. The classes was structured in a very accelerated pace. If you are coming in fresh to the health field then you'll struggle to keep up with the materials. However, it is not impossible with perseverance and hard work. If you're looking for an ADN program to breeze through and not worry then this is definitely not the one for you. From my experiences there are more great instructor than mediocre ones. read more

The admissions rep that was assigned to me led me on so much for months, telling me how awesome my scores were and then they took forever to get out acceptance or rejection letters. Turned out I was waitlisted, so I call Toli Kotler a couple of times and no answer. I email him to ask him what went wrong, but he never replied. I understand that they had a lot of applicants, but it would have been nice to know what was wrong so I can fix it. I find it so extremely rude that he never got back to me. I will be starting the BSN program at West Coast University in January and I'm sooooo glad I got waitlisted at Stanbridge because I would never have gone for it. They accepted way more credits than Stanbridge, so it's basically taking the same time to do my BSN than it would've to get my ADN. Yes it's very expensive (though not much of a difference w my transferred credits), and aside from it being a BSN rather than ADN, they are also so much more professional, I feel very optimistic about my future. I wish everyone well in their educational journey, I just had a bad experience here. read more

The Truth: I attended Stanbridge back in 2016 for the OTA program, in the beginning I was very excited and ready to learn I did good for the first year or so and just like a new relationship you don't truly know the person (or institute) in this case until you have been through things with them. I was kicked out of the school twice, the first time was because after the end of each test that you take on the computer you are allowed to view your test results both right and wrong answers; I video recorded the right and wrong answers took them home studied them on my phone and re took the test the following Monday in the test lab. That got me in trouble with my professor Satch Purcell he had a talk with me and told me that I was kicked out immediately but still had the opportunity to re enroll after a certain period of time I can't remember how long it was I think about 2 or 3 months; I ended up retaking an entrance test and meeting with a committee and explaining why I believe I should be re enrolled into their college I gave my speech and I believe I wrote a letter or took an online course he recommended which I completed and got a certificate on and was re enrolled into the cohort behind my cohort 13 or 14 it's been a while. I was in my new cohort for a few months before I got kicked out again this time I had a valid reason as to why I believe i shouldn't have gotten kicked out. I was living in Long Beach at the time my sister had just finished her RVT program and my parents had just bought a house in Lake Elsinore I still had a full year and some months to go before I finished the COTA program I had the worst busted down car anyone could think of It had broken down on me multiple times and has caused me a lot of money out of my pocket to help fix and be reliable but it wasn't enough. While attending Stanbridge I worked a full time job at Newport Bay Hospital because I had to pay $200 each month to stay in school and keep my classes; the school threatens to kick you out if you miss a certain amount of lectures which the teachers literally read off PowerPoints that are available on your student portal and course work at home which truthfully causes you no need to even be in a class room setting; my car had broken down a couple days before our clinical sites I was caught up with remediation work and didn't need the extra stress of having to do more catch up work right before our clinical's so I asked a classmate to sign me in so that I wouldn't be considered late and when i arrived in class it took my teacher about 30 min to notice that I had just arrived she asked what time I came in I told her the truth that I came in late so she checks the student login tablet and sees that I signed in on time from there she told me to not let it happen again so I figure okay she is understanding as to the circumstance I was in and let it slide. Not too long after I was called in again by Satch and Cynthia Barrahona with them telling me that I'm done and I can't go back to Stanbridge I told them my situation and they said if I hadn't have messed up the first time with the test then maybe they could let it slide but they didn't. To this day I know they had and have the power to keep me in school and be more understanding as to the situation I was in. I would pull all nighters for tests because I worked the graveyard shift I paid $500 a month plus gas and food and school because my parents chose to move 1 hour and 20 min away from my school at the worst time I would come into class tired as hell but ready to learn I did fall asleep sometimes because of my crazy schedule but I did my absolute best I passed my tests most of the time with descent and also good grades. I was respectful to my peers and always asked for extra help if I needed and was courteous and nice to all my teachers; If I'm being completely honest Satch Purcell was truly the only teacher there I believed actually cared for my education as much as I did but when he told me there was nothing he could do for me for a valid and genuine problem that's when I knew Stanbridge is all about the money. They are a greedy, manipulative,lying and money hungry institute that has no care in the world for the students education or their future. That's all :) read more

My 2 years experience with this school was truly an unforgettable one. I was in the OTA program and our Program director was not only an awesome teacher but also an unbelievably great person. I felt like he truly cared about the students. while I experienced one or two not so great teachers, most of the OT teaching staff were very knowledgeable in their field. I was fortunate to belong in a very cohesive cohort (OTAFT11) and that made the two years fun and memorable. However, this school is far from perfect (e.g.parking spots are limited, restrooms and LRC gets too crowded sometimes) but what I like too was that the school is continuously improving the services provided. You keep referring to the phase "my friend or I heard." And "People have little to no interest in entering this profession anymore." Are you speaking on behalf of the PEOPLE?? You have the right to speak your own mind but should be more considerate because there are lots of people out there who may want to consider a profession at Stanbridge College and your non-fact information is inappropriate and unprofessional (as you will find out whenever you become one). To respond to your question about if I have thought about it? Well the answer is simple. Yes. I have thought about what make sense to ME. I enjoy helping and working with the elderly and pediatric population that's why I'm a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. Lastly to respond to your response about the calls that I'm getting "isn't really a job... temporary work" is not true to an extent. Isn't a job where you do get paid and those job do pay. In FACT, they pay more because it's temporary work. Also getting a temporary job isn't always a bad thing. It's getting your foot in the door and or getting more work experience that one may want to get such as working in a hospital setting. I don't keep exact track of what companies are looking for what but if you want a full-time job then you tell them in which I have and they tell me that they have many permanent full-time job opening if I'm ever interested in working with that particular company. All of the information that I have just provided is TRUE and CORRECT to my experience! Stanbridge is very accomodating if you ask. The staff was willing to answer questions and they set you up to succeed with the support they offer (tutoring, ATI, etc). I am so proud to have graduated from Stanbridge Univeristy and I have referred multiple people to the University in order to seek their degrees! Went in to check out the school. Seems eh, BUT serious interior upgrade is needed compare to other schools that I visited.

I recommend their vocational nursing program. The program really prepares you to become a nurse. They are also very persistent helping you find a job once you become licensed. I highly recommend their program, great staff, they prepare you to sit for your boards. read more

Overall , my experience at Stanbridge was positive . At times there definitely was a lack of communication which was frustrating for our cohort. We constantly had to adjust to changes that were sprung on us with little notice such as new clinical sites/instructors and a lot of the staff was not completely on the same page. However, if you stay focused on the curriculum and just go with the flow for 1 year, it's 100% worth it. I would recommend it for anyone who is willing to put in a lot of effort and looking for an accelerated program. read more
