Stand Up Guys were available to come next day, arrived in their time window, and were in and out very efficiently (in masks) to remove our junk. It did seem a little expensive but better than renting a truck and taking the time to haul to the dump ourselves, I think. read more

Booked an appointment between 8-10am on a Saturday morning. So we woke up by 8am and waited... and waited.... and waited. The guy calls us at 9:45am saying he's 15 minutes away. Are you kidding me?! When you say BETWEEN 8-10, you come IN BETWEEN THOSE TIMES. We have things to do, so we don't have time to wait a whole 2 hours then to have work done for another 2 houses Ridiculous, we called them back and said we weren't interested in their services anymore and the half asleep dude on the phone goes WELL YOU SCHEDULED BETWEEN 8-10, yes buddy BETWEEN, not AT 10am. Fix your damn appointment booking because at this rate you're turning into Comcast. Do not book with them. read more

We hired this company to clean up after a move of a condo we had lived in for 3 1/2 years. I paid $550 for an entire truck including dump fees. There was some problem with the schedule and they ended up coming a day later than I had requested. When they showed up, I got the feeling they were somehow subcontracted, as the truck did not say "Stand Up Guys", it was not the larger truck I'd paid for, and although I was promised 3 people, it was one guy and his roughly 14-year old son. Because they came late, I had to leave before they were done. (I know, hindsight...) My mother dropped by around the same time as I had left some potted plants out for her to take home. I chatted with her at her car and then left. She was still sitting in her car and watched the father-son duo each walk out with a garbage bag. (To save time, we had pre-bagged all trash that would fit in lawn and leaf bags and placed 90% of the items to be removed in one area.) they placed the garbage bags in the 1/3 filled truck, looked around, then literally hopped in and drove off. I am now being sued in small claims court for all the crap that got left behind by these guys. What a nightmare! I would NEVER use this service again, although to be fair, I'm still not sure this team isn't huddled in a basement with a shortwave radio just poaching all calls that come in to Stand Up Guys... read more

This was our experience: late and a bait & switch. We spoke with someone on the phone two days out and got a quote. We get 3 cubic yards of disposal for items X, Y, and Z. Price: $85 for 3CY, no problem, let's do it. Dudes show up 20 minutes after the 2 hour window, say they'll only take items X and Y for $85 even though there's plenty of room in the rig and we are way under 3CY. They try to up the price to $150 for everything. They spout some dribble about dump fees -- sorry, you're running a junk removal company. You offer a price, you stick to the price. We will not do business with this company again. read more

We hired this company to pick up items. They were scheduled for 8am and at 9am I called and was told there was a problem and they had to go to another dump site but would be here by 10:30 am. I had taken the morning off work and I understood about the dump issue.. but.. at 11:45 am they called and said they were just leaving the other dump and could make it in 43 minutes. I knew it would take at least one hour getting them there at 1pm- 5 hours after agreed time. I was frustrated and told them to come the next morning. They continued to argue with me on the phone how it was not their fault, etc. That is fine, but why not be truthful at 9:00 am so I could go on to work and just reschedule for that afternoon or the next day. When they showed up the next day 1/2 hour late they wanted $375 for half a truck load, we had previously paid another company $150 for the same size. I got them down to $325 and I feel that was a rip off. It took them only 20 minutes to load and they were on their way. They seem shady to me and I would never use them again. Just look at how the owner writes back negative comments to reviewers. Never apologizes, just excuses. read more

Jay was prompt, polite, and gave me an on the spot estimate even though there was a huge tarp over most of the junk. He checked in with me and was on time to remove the junk I requested. He left no mess, and took everything that I asked him to, recycling when he could, at a very reasonable price. I had high hopes. I mean with a name like "Stand Up Guys".... I called on Wednesday and left a message. I told them I needed the stuff hauled Friday. They called back and said no problem with Friday and they would go by the job site either that afternoon or the next morning so they could give me a quote. Both passed and no show or call. I called Thursday and never heard back from them. It is now Friday and I had to make other plans. Very disappointed. read more

These guys are awesome! Doing renovations on an older house and the previous tenants were some extreme hoarders that collected a bunch of junk in the back yard. Quick and reasonable estimates, and they begin work as soon as you say yes. No cash involved, as they will take card. Jay gave me a call about 20 minutes out to let me know he was on the way. Very punctual. Ran into an unexpected Yellow Jacket nest. Really big bummer they couldn't finish but, they said they'll be back again after the Yellow Jacket problem is gone.
