Hi....I had an old mattress to recycle. I signed up and paid online and they arrived the next day on time. The actual cost for each mattess was $30 and reasonable. Five star service. I deducted one star because it was an extra $45 for them to pick up and an another extra $40 to choose a 2 hour window. Because I didn't want to wait at my parent's house for 8 hours I chose the extra $40 charge but I think that's a bit excessive since I already paid for the pick up. Buyer beware that it costs $85 for the 2 window pick up! read more

We had a treadmill we needed to recycle. Many places were quoting us a $175 fee to pick it up. A friend referred us to SBC Recycle. We were surprised at all the items they take and recycle and/or sell. They are a great resource for the neighborhood and just down the street from us! We ended up taking our treadmill there and they were really nice. It's great that they will use the parts and recycle the metal. It was a minimal fee to donate this large equipment. I needed my counter top ice maker out of my house and wasn't really sure how to do it responsibly, then I found this company on a recycling website. It was very easy to order a pick up, and they were right on time with the 2 hour pick up window. In hindsight I wish I had looked more throughly at what they take, I would have done a lot more! But I'm glad to have found this resource, and most things are free or very low price! Honestly, $45 it pick up is a steal! read more

Misleading. Their website says "Electronic Recycling [FREE]. SBC Recycle is a full-service electronic recycler. We take computers, laptops, monitors, printers, and more." On another page "Residential Electronics - FREE to DROP-Off". I brought in a working printer to recycle. Charged me $5. Not a terrible price to recycle a printer, but it was certainly not free. Should have just used the Oregon E-Cycles program to recycle it for free at any Goodwill. read more

I have used SBC Recycling a few times now. The online process is so easy and the service is well worth the price! I have had old furniture, a grill and even a pallet hauled away. Scheduled my service online and was able to get a no contact pickup. The pickup fee is fair, the communication is great and I will use this service again when the need arises! read more

I needed to recycle a queen sized mattress. While this seemed like a simple service, it wasn't easy finding someone who would do it. SBC has their website all set up for you to figure out what size you had, how much each piece would cost and even schedule the pickup (They'll take drop off for less, but I don't own that large a vehicle.) Adrian contacted me 20 minutes before he expected to arrive, so I knew when to expect him, and managed that big mattress all by himself! I am relieved to have this problem resolved with so little fuss. Kudos to a great team! read more

Very convenient to find someone who recycles mattresses. Pick up fee is a bit costly which is why I dropped a star but you can drop it off yourself and save $40. Otherwise, great service and nice find in the Hillsboro area. read more

I had to change my request, at the last minute, to having SBC pick up my old washing machine from my garage (there was no way my wimpy self was moving that thing into the driveway). Dude, so affordable. Take your belongings here to get them recycled over taking them to the landfill. CHEAP and AFFORDABLE. If you are especially a college/grad student moving back home and needing to get rid of things, check this place out. They also unload the items for you which I loved! read more

Wow what a relief! We were replacing our old washer and dryer and they had been sitting in our garage. I googled appliance recyclers nearby and SBC came up. I made an online appointment for them to come pick up my washer and dryer and 3 hours later their truck was at my door. The worker was very professional and he took away my washer and dryer for only $30!!! Best $30 I ever spent. I will be recommending this company to any friends or neighbors in need of appliance removal. read more

It was so simple. I went online and placed the order on their website to pickup my old mattress. I selected next day pickup and put my old mattress on the side of my house. They called the next day prior to my pickup to notify me that they're on their way. No issues. Super easy and convenient. Also, it was nice to know that part of the old mattress got recycled instead of going to the landfill. read more

This company is awesome. I had an old treadmill that I just needed gone, for reasons I won't go into here. I called several other charities as a donation, they didn't want. I was then left with breaking down and putting in the trash, not acceptable and putting on the curb, hoping someone would take it off our hands... not my favorite. I called this company to "recycle " the machine. The cost was half what other companies wanted to haul away. Jake showed up and took it away. I would definitely use this company in future haul jobs. The person working our route is always here right at 7pm so I can bring in the receptacle before I head to sleep for the night. Before my roommates and I would stuff the trash so full we could barely close it because none of us wanted to take the trash down the stairs and then fight for space in the full dumpster. My neighbors never flattened their cardboard boxes down so the recycling was a nightmare every week. Now with the rules ZipEco has in place they have to flatten the boxes and recycle correctly if they want it to be taken! The steps below are for people dropping off asbestos. Hope this helps. ASBESTOS REMOVAL AND DROP OFF Step 1. Get 6 mil bags yellow and clear (DO NOT GET WOVEN FABRIC FROM HOME DEPOT) Step 2. Put the asbestos material in the yellow bag and fold the tail down and duct tape it shut. Step 3. Place the yellow bag inside the clear and fold the tail down and duct tape it shut. Step 4. Anywhere on the bag write your name, address, and phone number. Make sure you write it on the blank spaces. Step 5. Fill out the Asbestos Waste Shipment Report Form. Step 6. Take materials to designated drop off. Step 7. Be ready to pay $100 for every 1000 pound. * *note: they weight you when you come in and when you're leaving. They'll subtract the two and that is what you'll pay. Be sure to get all these steps done so that you're not running around like a mad person due to lack of info.

Their absolute refusal to change practices, coupled with escalating and outrageous fees convinces me we have to find a way to revoke their franchise so they are not allowed to continue abusing their customers so severely.
