This was such an amazing experience. Kevin and Penny are wonderful instructors and really kind people. Their employees- Clay and Autumn were also helpful and fun. There were 11 of us in my group including 5 children. None of us had ever used a paddle board. Kevin trained us up and had us on boards in 15 minutes. His instruction was seamless and no one had any issues except me! Lol i fell off my board more times than everyone in my group combined. Penny realized that I needed to use the 12ft board and once I used it, I had no issues standing. I am 6 ft tall, so it makes a difference which board you use. Finally had an opportunity to take a paddle board lesson. I booked this last year but it rained and Kevan does give rain checks for up to a year so book with confidence. I've been on a paddle board before but Kevan's instructions helped me be more efficient. Both my friend and I felt like we learned something new. There were 4 other people at the same time as our lesson but it was fine. Kevan showed us the ropes and gave each group assignments. No one fell in. Speaking of that, while you might not necessarily fall in I would say it's best to wear something that will get wet. Even sitting on the board you'll get damp. So swimsuit or athletic shorts and shirts that dry quick are great. There's also a lot of good restaurants walking distance so stay a while and enjoy the area. You can also stay at the Omni or several other hotels and walk there. Highly recommend! Have fun! read more

I had a good time out on Lake Carolyn, even with my bad back! I went out on Saturday and Keven and his crew gave a little lesson on how to kayak. I went tandem kayaking. So you get two "trail" options. You can head out to the left or the right! I picked the right. You are going through the small canals and you end out in the bigger area of the lake before you head in. I had to walk most of the way because ya know my bad back, but even walking along Lake Carolyn was nice. There were folks out there paddle boarding and some were riding on those "water bicycles" IDK what they are called. I wish my back wasn't jacked up because up until the pain kicked in, I was having a ball in the kayak. I will be back once my back is in proper shape and this time I will do a single kayak. My friend and I spent the afternoon on the paddle boards at SUP NTX. We had a wonderful and fun time. The three young people who worked there were absolutely the best: kind, helpful and supportive. Even had one of them jump in the water after I fell off my board. We both just laughed and then she recommended I get back on the board and paddle down to the water falls. It could not have been more fun and hard work. Paddle boarding for almost 2 hours is not easy. I definitely recommend it for a fun time and some great exercise. read more

Great people, great equipment, awesome experience. Tip: take lessons if you've never done sup before. We learned the hard way. Will definitely come back again and again. As for Lake Caroline, it's made huge improvements from where it was 10 years ago. But if you're looking for clear waters, go to Cozumel or Hawaii. This is a man-made lake in the middle of Irving. It's good, better than most actual lakes, but don't expect paradise. Again, it's Irving... Still, you're not going to find a better group of people. Keep in mind, it's run from a shack, small pier, and smaller launch platform. If you can't follow directions from a small operation trying to make sure everyone has a good time, this isn't for you. Otherwise, you'll have a great time! Update: We went back a second time two weeks later, and it was even better. This time I spent most of the time standing up on the board. All thanks to the instructions they gave me. Love this hobby. Still fell 8 times, but got back up 9. The worst that can happen is you fall in the water. Seriously, it's not that hard. My second time, and even my kid was asking "how do you make it look so easy?" If I can do it, so can you. Go! You won't regret it! read more

This was an awesome place to paddle board! My husband and I wanted to paddle board in DFW and didn't want to be on a lake. I'm so glad I found this rental shop on Google because this is just what we had in mind but did not know existed in the area! We had a blast being on the water, exploring the canals! Great. They kind of just let you do what you want to do as far as independence. I had never done it before. They gave me maybe a 2 minute run down and that was it. However. Felt very comfortable. The guy that runs the place was a little rude when I had called and told them I was lost. He almost didn't give us our full hour. Additionally, he was rudely sarcastic even after my driver was freaking out trying to figure where were going and we had rushed there . He wasn't welcoming, but did give us some education as far as how to paddle board. I didn't know any other of it because they never teach u how to do it in Austin. read more

My date & I had a great first time experience paddle boarding here. Although a bit on the pricey side compared to other rental options elsewhere in the metroplex, it was well worth it. Kevin made the process easy, texting me & letting me know where to park. He gave us a brief lesson and we were off. Lake Carolyn was very calm, so there was no problem getting the balance part down. We made the loop that was suggested that takes around an hour, enjoying the views that reminded me of the river walk in San Antonio. We did a two hour, two person SUP lesson and it was awesome. The first hour was learning and experimenting with the basics: paddling, turning, standing up, getting down, etc. This was great, since neither of us had done SUP before. We liked the format of the lesson, it wasn't a lecture, we immediately got on the boards and got to try things out, and Kevin was really helpful.
