    Watermelon margarita and dirty martini

The smash burger was absolutely incredible! It was juicy, perfectly cooked, and smothered in melty cheese and grilled onions--exactly how I like it. The fries were hot and crispy, and the deviled eggs were a huge hit. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. Our server and the rest of the staff were so friendly, and they even came over to pet my dog, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The covered outdoor patio with fans was the perfect place to spend a summer afternoon. I would definitely order these again and can't wait to come back to try some of the seafood. Looking forward to my next visit!

This new location is doing quite the business, and we could tell they are trying really hard to keep up. The first time we tried to go was on a Sunday around 2 pm and it was over a half hour wait even though the dining room had quite a few empty tables, so we chose to try another time. The following weekend we tried Saturday at 1pm and had no problem getting a table. One of the things that had drawn us to the place was the online menu and it was a huge disappointment to be handed a menu that didn't have any of the items I had been hoping to try. Gone were all of the plates...no piri piri chicken or clam frites, and the apricot pasilla wings were also gone. Thankfully the deviled eggs were still there and they are fantastic! Also fantastic was the Shrimp Burger, which is an actual patty made out of shrimp and grilled. For a side, I asked for potato salad instead of fries or tots, and that was some amazing potato salad, but it would have been nice to be given a heads up that it was a $2.50 upcharge. (worth it though). Husband enjoyed his french dip and polished off every one of his tots, although he did say they were a bit over-fried. As for drinks, both of us liked ours. I had a white wine I had never heard of before and he had a dirty martini. Both good, but both on the small side. But hey, they've got a big shiny new restaurant to pay for. Parking: There's a garage right across the street from the entrance that has 2-hour retail parking available for free, but you have to register your car. Do know that if you forget to do it in the garage, the restaurant has the code on the hostess stand, so you can scan it and register it there.

I've always been a fan of The Standard on Person Street (Franklin), so I was excited to try the new North Hills location. Unfortunately, it just didn't capture the same experience. The smash burger that I normally love wasn't quite the same, and it felt a little odd having it served wrapped in foil on a plate. It wasn't bad, but it was not as good as the other location (I have ordered at least 4x at other location). The biggest disappointment was the wait. We were told 55-60 minutes for a table, but it ended up being closer to an hour and a half (~90min). While waiting, we found a picnic table outside and we learned the patio only offered a very limited drink menu, around five or six options, and the only beer available was their light beer. The food was decent (deviled eggs actually solid), but between the long wait, limited drink selection outside, and the burger not living up to my expectations, it wasn't an exceptional experience. I'm not sure I'd return, especially given how crowded it was.

The new Standard Beer + Food at NHID is off to a great start! The 2nd location for this concept, Standard offers interesting and tasty Southern sandwiches, salads, appetizers and more in a very nicely modern setting. Inside they've got a large open dining room with a kitchen service area. Further up is the bar section with its own dining room. Lots of soft, light-brown woods in the space, it all feels nicely designed and clean! The menu is basic+ with some spins on classics. I tried the deviled eggs (delish), fried oyster lettuce wraps, and the French dip with tots. All were quite filling and tasty, entrees are mostly under $25 with some exceptions. Overall the new Standard Beer + Food is an awesome addition to this rapidly growing area!

Awesome new place!!! This second location of the Standard opened just a few weeks ago and it is beautiful, and so nice. There is inside and outside seating. We went on a Monday and it was packed. They don't take reservations so I would be prepared to grab a drink and wait on a Friday and Saturday especially. The staff is so friendly and attentive. The food is SO good. They have a creative and different menu I feel like. Their portions are pretty big which I appreciate. Overall this place is great I will definitely be back and would highly recommend!

Good reason to come back. Started with prickly pear margarita with mescal. Yum! Had a white wine after. It was ok. My friend and I shared 4 bruschetta's- smoked salmon and pesto, artichoke, caprese, and apple, Brie and fig. Favs were smoked salmon and apple and Brie. The fries were amazing. Salmon board was good too. The bread on the board was much better than the bruschetta. Ambiance is great. Service as well. Will be back!

Their roast beef panini is on par with Portillo's a long standing Chicago beef restaurant (IYKYK). I've NEVER had a beef sandwich that was better than Portillo's but Postino you managed to take a hometown classic and elevate it to a point beyond my expectations - if you get this sandwich I recommend getting it on the ciabatta bread versus focaccia. Let's not overlook the tomato soup - it's so rich and flavorful. For a lighter lunch my go to is the tuna panini with broccoli salad. They are known for their boards, I've not had the bruschetta yet but it looks delicious. My favorite board is the hummus. One thing I hate is when a restaurant gives you a big bowl of hummus and not enough pita. That is not the case here, you'll get pita, toasted bread, and a variety of vegetables to scoop up the velvety humus covered in cherry tomatoes, red onion and feta. For date night enjoy a Violet Femme a gin cocktail that tastes as lovely as it looks. The service here is top notch! Everyone is fantastic. I'll have to come back to this review to note the serves names we've had because they have all been exceptional. Now let's talk about the vibe! Postino's nailed the indoor/outdoor feel. Plenty of windows that are open on nice days, plants galore and the decor gives you a cool like rockstar but classy feel. 5 stars doesn't feel like enough.

With little signage the space feels like a natural speakeasy. It's unpolished enough to feel a little sleazy, yet polished enough to never feel dirty. Whether you're a serious whiskey enthusiast or just looking for a well-made cocktail, you're in good hands. Being open later than most Raleigh bars makes Foundation one of the city's go-to late-night options, but that shouldn't overshadow what it really is........a great bar at any hour. The interior features rotating art hung on the walls--which adds a great aesthetic and is even available for purchase if you fall in love with a piece. The drink menu is impressively extensive, and the bartenders certainly don't skimp on the pours; if you aren't a frequent drinker, one strong cocktail will definitely be plenty. The staff is consistently polite and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere makes for a solid night out. The only notable drawbacks are the lack of a food menu, not even offering small bites, and a noticeable smoke odor inside that might bother non-smokers. Still, it's a great spot for drinks and atmosphere.

But the hospitality took it over the top- our wonderful server was so friendly and kind and on her game. And the owner as well. He is so gracious and warm and just out there with his guests! For my meal I ordered the breakfast sandwich and added bacon. It was really really good. I also tasted the grits and wow, they may have been the best grits I've ever had.
