Caesar Salad
David S.

Decent food, nothing that really jumps out, but I've always had good experiences here. The service is consistently great and they have a wide drink selection. The restaurant itself is very clean too. I've eaten here and also done takeout a few times. The pasta dishes taste really good but they do come with a lot of oil which isn't always ideal. I also got a to go salad once and it was pretty heavy on the lettuce and light on the chicken, which was a little disappointing. Thankfully it still tasted good and the caesar dressing seemed homemade. Overall it's a solid bar, just not anything amazing.

The service was outstanding and the Breuben sandwich delish. Will come back for sure. Bring my clients here anytime. Great place for lunch, sports and of course you favorite brew......

Spicy shrimp tacos
Haley B.

I came here the other night to watch the Canes game and had a good time overall. My waitress was nice and had everything out quickly. I decided to order the spicy shrimp tacos and while they were good, the pineapple absolutely overpowered it to the point where it was hardly spicy at all. For a drink I got a sweet tea which wasn't sweet at all and for dessert I ordered the chocolate torte. The chocolate torte was AMAZING and I would return based on that alone. Next time I come I'll definitely try one of the burgers instead of the tacos.

Good selection.

Really great upscale place. The food was good and came out quick. We had the Brueben and truffle fries. Very good. Extremely attentive wait staff. Beer selection is ok. All styles represented. Whiskey and other liquor is well stocked. And plenty of large TVs. And in the Wade Park area. Very cool.

Service was a little touch and go. I felt like we had to wait long amounts of time before someone would check on us, but when they did it was good. The truffle fries were hot, crispy, and amazing I also loved the beer selections. Inside was clean with plenty of seating choices as well as outdoor seating which I took advantage of .

Burger

Burger was amazing! It was so juicy. The Alabama chicken sandwich was okay- it looks amazing but I asked for the sauce on the side because I was afraid of a kick, so I think that's why it was dry overall. Patio was nice and service was great.

Caprese sandwich and fries

I live in the neighborhood, and finally walked in one day to try this place out. I was not disappointed! I ordered the caprese sandwich with fries for takeout. The sandwich was flavorful and juicy. The fries were crispy and piled over the sandwich. Very generous portion. The person who took my order was friendly. I will be back and will bring family next time!

The Breubennnnnnn

The Breubennnnnnn!!! If you are a Reuben fanatic, you will LOVE the spin on this sandwich! Pastrami, Swiss Cheese, Pickled Jalapeno Relish, House Sauce (kind of mustardy i think), Sauerkraut, Hoagie Roll, and Fries!! The pickled jalapeno relish and house sauce were a fabulous touch. This was my first time in, but I'll come back just for this, which was all due to an employee (think he was a bartender) named Rick. Dude, Thanks for the recommendations from the food to the beer and on to the mixed drinks; that Chaotic Energy was freaking delicious!!! Everyone that hasn't come to Bru's should certainly add it to the bucket list. Pizza lovers welcome too, from what I saw at other tables, the pizzas are a huge hit.

Outside seating

Really neat place! Located very close to the Lenovo center too so great place to go before events. Our server was nice and polite. The place is open seating at certain times and if it's before a popular event you may have to wait for a table. Not sure if they accept reservations or not. The food was good and the fries were amazing! Some of the best fries I've ever had. Looking forward to trying other things on the menu.

Bruburger
Karen S.

What a great spot! The fried chicken nachos were on point for a starter and the pizza crushed it! The drinks were also great - they know how to make an old fashion! We will be back! Returned and got the Bruburger - delish!!

Soda Machine Sour
Lauren M.

Went here before a show at PNC! We were sure to get here early around 4:30ish since it gets very crowded before events at PNC! It was seat yourself and they had QR codes on the tables for drink and food menus. Our server was great and very attentive! They had a good selection of beers - I really liked the soda machine sour! Food was yummy - I had the fried chicken sandwich.

Cruel Summer on left and sangria on right
Tim K.

Had high hopes when I walked in. Great atmosphere with huge tvs scattered about. Plenty of seating. Looked like a fun place for food and friends. You sat yourself. Server was friendly and welcoming. Word of warning: They DO NOT have allergy protocols in place. That severely limited what I could eat. I have a shellfish allergy and was informed all proteins are cooked on the same grill, including shrimp. I opted for the 12 inch pepperoni pizza which cost a whopping $16. That's not a typo. My wife and daughter split the spicy chicken nachos. Food came out fast and it was fresh. Pizza was ok. Good not great. Not worth $16. Nachos were also good $13. Wife had a cocktail called Cruel Summer and daughter got sangria. Drinks were good. I guess I'm still adjusting to inflation and restaurant prices. Nachos and 12 inch pizza for $29? Ridiculous. The food filled our bellies but there was nothing to bring us back. The lack of allergy protocols deducted one star from the rating. Best part is the experience was our server. She was helpful and went out of her way to get me the allergy information. Will I go back? No....other options out there for a better value.

For starters, our waiter(if I'm not mistaken was also the bartender) was very attentive and gave excellent recommendations since it was our first visit. I ordered the rose water lemonade and my son ordered the strawberry lychee. Both were delicious so much so I asked could the two be combined without the carbonation that the lychee drink had. It was a hit!!!! For appetizers we ordered the Duck Egg rolls and asked the waiter to surprise us with the second appetizer. He chose the Pork Bao. The egg rolls were our favorite out of the two but both were great. For our entrees, my son ordered the General Tso Chicken. I couldn't decide between two dishes so I asked the waiter once again to surprise me. I ended up the whole fish(black bass) entree which was a phenomenal choice. The flavors were like a party in your mouth. It was seasoned to perfection and the sauce: OMG!!!!! Both entrees came with a bowl of fluffy rice. For dessert we got the mooncakes. They were ok. The ambience was nice and welcoming. I don't drink but was informed that it was a place people go to take part in their amazing drink selections. That it is also a great place to read a book which they have plenty to choose from if you forgot your own and a good meet up or date spot. Beignets, beignets, beignets!…read more This place is perfect for a girls night, date night, friends night, solo night... honestly any night! I came here for drinks and dessert with friends, and the star of the show was definitely the beignets. As someone who has visited New Orleans and tried the real deal, I thought I knew what good beignets tasted like. Turns out, I did not have to travel that far after all! The beignets here are like a cross between a classic beignet and a croissant. Light, fluffy, and just the right amount of indulgent. I will definitely be back to check out more of the menu, but no matter what, I am saving room for the... say it with me... beignets!!

Her recommendations for pairing the drinks with the food were flawless, and each drink was prepared like a work of art. I started with the raw oysters, paired with a glass of Rose, which I loved. They switched from the Halibut with Fennel to Mahi with Forbidden Rice. The rice is black and inky and potent and extraordinary, but it overwhelmed the fish completely. Still greatful I got to experience it, but I would pair it with something more gamy like lamb or goat. The Pecan pie with warm salted caramel ice cream was nothing short of a spiritual experience, and Hayley's recommendation to pair it with Rum Flip was perfect. Yes, I Ubered. Overall, this one is going to be a frequent hangout.

I have been to Postino many times before, but this was my first time at the Raleigh location. While it's been 4 years since I've had Postino and the menu has changed a little, the bruschetta board is still a permanent fixture. We ordered a bruschetta board for an appetizer and I ordered the half panini & half salad for my entree. The bruschetta board is a must order because you can get 4 different kinds. The top tier choice is the salami pesto one. It's my absolute favorite. For my panini, I got the caprese one on ciabatta bread and the half of the mixed greens salad. The salad was delicious. This was a ton of food and felt very satisfying. I always love the vibe of Postino's, but this location was way too dark with only a small candle at the table. Service started off good and we were able to order our food without a problem. However, our server was done with his shift right after we ordered so we got a new server. Our new server had no idea we already ordered and was a little behind coming to our table for water refills. Despite that, we were in and out of the restaurant within 45 minutes. Postino is surrounded by other shops and restaurants, so they had a ton of parking available outside the restaurant. Highly recommend this place if you want good food!

From the staff to the manager to the food, everything was on point. The food truly speaks for itself. They serve small plates, which we love because it gives you the chance to try different things and experience a variety of flavors. We started with the fried pork belly on tostones. It was perfectly seasoned, topped with avocado, and every bite just melted in your mouth. Next, we had the tamarind sticky ribs with a tamarind mango barbecue sauce. This was a perfect example of how simplicity can create complex flavors. The ribs were cooked just right -- not completely falling off the bone, but tender enough that when you bit into them, the meat pulled apart so easily. They were juicy, full of flavor, and had just the right touch of spice from the chili flakes. Then we moved on to the mini arepas, and oh my God. They had slow-cooked pork, guava barbecue sauce, and fried papas on top. The arepa itself was crispy on the outside, warm and fluffy on the inside. The savory pork paired with the sweetness of the guava barbecue sauce was incredible, and the crunch from the fried papas took it to another level. Now, I have a bit of a sweet tooth, but my wife does not. I wanted dessert, and we were leaning toward the tres leches, but our waitress highly recommended the bread pudding. I am not usually a fan of bread pudding at all, but her recommendations had been on point all night, so I decided to trust her. I am so glad we did. They take a Mexican bolillo, soak it overnight in tres leches, then pan-sear it to create this crispy caramelized outside while keeping the inside warm, soft, and sweet. It is topped with crema and toasted coconut, then they pour warm guava syrup over it and serve it with a scoop of coconut sorbet. The layers of flavor in that dessert were unreal. Honestly, it may have been the best dessert we have ever had. And remember, my wife is not big on sweets -- she usually only takes one bite of dessert, but this time she tried to eat over half of it. Lol. I highly recommend this place. The food, the service, the drinks, and the atmosphere were all amazing. And after dinner, you can even head upstairs to work off the food with salsa lessons and a dance club. This is definitely a spot worth checking out! Me alegra muchísimo haberlo hecho. Jajaja.
