But this family business, despite me wanting to keep it to myself, deserves long term success. Both Drs here are top notch with a great chairside manner. Dr. Arta's filling work and crowns are gently installed/done and top quality, I haven't had any issues. And Dr Melika's cosmetic work on my front teeth have given me a confidence to my smile that I wish I had addressed years ago. My whole family goes to standard dental to see Dr. Melika and Dr. Arta. We absolutely love this office, from the cleanliness, the welcoming atmosphere, the office staff, hygienist and dentists everything is wonderful. My 3 young kids (ages 3, 6 and 9) asked to be switched from a pediatric dentist to Dr. Melika and Dr. Arta because they had such bad experiences from X-rays and being poked during cleanings. The dentists here take their time, have so much patience and the hygienist was amazing with all 3 kids they loved going and asked when they can go again. I myself have extremely sensitive teeth and have a very difficult time with cleanings. Even when vocalising my sensitivity the other offices brush it off and I jump and have to constantly tell them to stop. At this office, I'm extremely at ease and had the best experience with no pain or discomfort! I recommend this office to all my friends and anyone who asks. I'm glad Standard Dental is located in a closer area from where I live. I used to go to Superior so I could get my dental care from Dr. Melika because she was very thorough & truly wanted what was best for my needs as though they were her own at my old dentist. I have worked with Dr. Arta recently & he was pleasant to work with. He made sure my comfort was paramount, as I went through treatment, & explained everything thoroughly. He would even discuss pros & cons whereby my decision is needed so I can choose wisely. Throughout the process of my procedure, I was informed of what was going to occur. Since my procedure had a lot to do with aesthetics, Dr. Arta made sure to consider my thoughts on how my teeth would look before making permanent changes. I truly appreciated that they go above & beyond to double-check on certain aspects of my chart & x-rays before moving forward to the next steps. Appointments are easy to arrange. I've left voicemails over the weekend with emergencies & I immediately get a call-back the following Monday. When there is a wait, they let you know & the staff have always been kind; they make sure you are comfortable as you go through treatment. The clinic is clean & is kept organized with just the right enough of space for a comfortable wait at the sitting area. They always ensure to keep your balance transparent & ask you to sign off before any treatment begins. I wanted to switch my Dentist because I wasn't happy with my current one so I went online looking for good reviews. That's when I found out about this one tucked away in Potomac down Falls Road. The front desk receptionist was very nice, the Dental Assistant, Maydah, was extremely nice and made me feel so comfortable there. Dr. Moaddab was great and took the time to listen to some of my concerns I had and he did an extra check around my mouth to make sure everything looked great and healthy! The office itself is very beautifully decorated and has very soothing colors everywhere. I was visiting for the first time and would need a gum surgery and a dental crown. The gum surgery was relatively successful but the dental crown was not. I was informed by Standard Dental that the dental crown was going to cost me $621 and that I could either pay "half now and half later" or pay the full $621 up front. I decided to pay the full $621 up front. My payment was processed and approved and I was told that it would take a few weeks for the dental crown to arrive from a lab that Standard Dental contracts with since Standard Dental does not make crowns onsite. A few weeks went by and I was called into the office. When I arrived to the office the crown was TERRIBLE. It did not fit on my natural tooth properly and was painfully tight on my natural tooth. The crown was not aesthetically correct, the surface of the crown was not correct, and I IMMEDIATELY let Arta Moaddab (the dentist) know this while still sitting in his examination chair. He tried to make a few adjustments to the crown while I was still there and it was still terrible. I voiced my frustration with the crown while still sitting in his examination chair. I was very clear in my disgust with the crown. I told him I was going to leave and expected a refund. I NEVER LEFT HIS OFFICE WITH THE CROWN AND NEVER TOOK POSSESSION OF IT. He still had the crown in his office. The crown was on my tooth for approximately 2-4 minutes while I was sitting on his examination chair. That's it. So I repeat, I NEVER LEFT STANDARD DENTAL WITH THE CROWN NOR TOOK POSSESSION OF IT. The crown was useless. It was very frustrating and a total waste of my time. Had I known the crown he delivered was going to be the way it was, I would had never paid for it in the first place two weeks prior. In fact, I would have never visited Standard Dental had I known how terrible the crown was going to be. A few days later, I had to seek out a different Dental Facility (Mint Dental) in Washington DC and have the new facility prep me for making a crown. The new facility took molds, scans, et cetera and made the new crown onsite. I had to pay $1,027 up front to the new Dental Facility to make a correct crown for me, which I currently have in my mouth till this day. Even though the new crown was substantially more expensive in cost, the new facility made my experience much better and I'm satisfied with the new crown Mint Dental made. Standard Dental never issued my requested refund even though I couldn't use their crown for all the aforementioned reasons. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I'm blown away that Standard Dental would try to keep my money even though I DON'T HAVE A CROWN FROM THEM. That's some insane stuff. But I put my faith in karma and vibes. I'm certain this will all resolve the way it's supposed too. You can't treat Customers this way and expect to get away with it. They get no recommendation from me and I've told my friends, co-workers, and family about my experience as well. read more

Dr. Melika Shatergholi and Dr. Arta Moaddab are both amazing! I have always had a lot of problems with my teeth and for that reason, I had many dental visits. Some dentists were ok and some were unbelievably bad. But I have finally found my ideal dentists. Dr. Melika and Her associate and husband, Dr. Arta Moaddab. They're both very knowledgeable and caring. At the last cleaning I had, I found out that my 6 front teeth had to be crowned. I was very nervous because my front teeth are crooked, and I was wondering how they could be crowned. But since they were in really bad shape, I had no choice but to go for it. When Dr. Melika was working on my teeth, she looked like an artist creating a masterpiece! Indeed, she did create a masterpiece!! When I looked at my teeth after she was done, I could not believe my eyes. They looked white and straight. I can't stop smiling and showing off my nice teeth ever since. Standard Dental is absolutely wonderful. I used them after moving to Potomac from across the country. The staff is great! They are the nicest group of people, and very competent. The dentist --- what can I say about the woman who actually does the dental work? She is GREAT. Her assistant is also GREAT. They both make you feel totally relaxed, and make sure you are comfortable and understand everything they are doing. BONUS: they both laugh at my stupid sense of humor!
