Ordered new faucets for bathrooms and the selection is great here. The staff is helpful and answered questions and provided quotes for multiple faucets to help me choose. They were also super helpful with the questions I had after I left the store and called to ask about several of the faucets. Only thing I wished they would have done was opened at least one of the boxes in front of me before I left to show me the faucet was the correct one. I ended up doing this in my car but would have been much easier in store and that should be a standard practice at their business. Alex was beyond helpful. I came in here at a loss & defeated. I tried to install a DELTA R10000-UNBX MultiChoice Universal Tub and Shower Valve Body (that I ordered off Amazon) & I wasn't needing to use the bottom outlet so I tried to cap it with a brass 1/2" cap w/ plumbers tape & then pipe dope & couldn't get the cap to stop leaking once I pressurized with water. So I then tried to cap it with a 1/2 pvc cap & it didn't fix the leak. I thought it may be a faulty faucet rough in so I order another faucet (DELTA R10000-UNBXHF MultiChoice Universal Shower Valve Body) This one didn't even have the tub outlet so I thought it would bypass my problem. Well it didn't, I used 3 shark bite brass connections that were 1/2 female (threaded) to 1/2 pex & after install my shower out & cold water in lines were leaking ‍ I searched online forums to get an answer & a couple guys online say my photos I uploaded & said I could tighten another 2-3 threads (which couldn't be done by hand) So I bought a bench vise from Harbor Freight & put it in my vise & cranked it down the rest of the thread. I thought for sure that had solved the problem but after 3 hours of the water on my cold water line (at the threaded shark bite to faucet connection started leaking again) I had spent a day & 1/2 + 2 faucets & 5 different 90° elbow shark bite fittings & couldn't get this installed without a leak. I walked in to Standard & Alex immediately asked what he could help with & I explained my situation & showed him pics of the leak & showed him my faucet & shark bite set up (I disconnected it & brought it in.) He & another plumber that was shopping said that the last 6 months that the threaded shark bites have been terrible. He demonstrated to me how the shark bite connections that I had would only thread on to my faucet maybe 2 turns & he walked the store & grabbed multiple other types of 1/2 female fittings & showed me how they would all thread on to my faucet a lot further. We played tetris with plumbing connections to my faucet for about 10 minutes & Alex came up with a much more solid solution to my leaking faucet connections He set me up with all the right parts I needed (I opted to buy a 3rd new Delta faucet from them) w/ advice & helped me get in contact with someone that could help me permanently solder a small cut of copper pipe inside each of my male faucet threadings & then sold me 1/2" to 1/2" 90°elbow pex fittings (so I could bypass having to use shark bites terrible thread patterns that kept leaking.) We ordered a tub none of the employees were wearing masks in the middle of a pandemic. Weeks later when the tub arrived they called us to let us know. When I came to pick it up, again, none of the employees were wearing masks in the middle of a pandemic. I asked the gal why they don't wear masks, she said because there is so much conflicting information. I said I haven't heard any conflicting information about wearing a mask. But let's assume she's right. You're in retail and you error to the side of unsafe vs safe? All employees...? After the purchase of the tub in Mesa, she sent us off with all the extra items we needed to install. We haul our new tub to Northern Arizona only to find the custom drainage pipe was not included with the extra items we should have left with. Standard Hardware doesn't design the tub, nor do they make the tub, they don't even ship the tub, they just assure that each customer leaves with the correct items they need to install it. That's the 1 thing they are responsible for and she messed it up. No conflicting information here. read more

So I am doing a little remodeling on the back house. This includes updating the plumbing. The existing plumbing is ran on the exterior of the house. I plan to remove the siding and put the water and sewer lines in the wall where they belong. I am not a plumber by any means. I am capable of sweating copper though. I went to Standard because of past experience. I needed someone with a bit of knowledge. Ron was more than willing to assist me. He was very helpful in making sure I got everything I needed. He even cut the pipe in half so I could carry it in my truck. It's tough getting service like this in the big box stores. The customer service was awesome and the prices more then fair. AVOID! Do not shop here! It appears that the showroom employees make a greater effort to bury their heads in their own computers and avoid eye contact with anyone that walks in, than to offer a 'how can I help you', or even a simple basic greeting.  Forget about a pleasant smile-you don't get that here.   To say it looks like the showroom floor employees hate their jobs would be an understatement.   If you can eventually get someone to acknowledge you....or even help you, their skills at making you feel unwelcome have been perfected.   Unfriendly, short, and unpleasant would be great words to describe. Pay attention to catch the eye roll as well... I can't remember when the last time was that I walked into a business and felt so brushed off, disregarded, insulted, and ignored...consistently on 3 separate visits.   Additionally, based on other previous customer reviews it looks like poor customer treatment is a standard here. I feel regretful and dirty for spending my money here and supporting this horrible business model with what seems to have no oversight, management, or quality control.   As someone already stated, unfortunately you can't leave a review in the negative numbers....otherwise I would. read more

Had to get a part for a Koehler faucet which they didn't have. Had to order online from Koehler. At Standard Hardware none of the employees were wearing a mask. That includes the 4 women at the customer service counter, the guy answering the phone and the 3 guys at the parts counter. The worst customer experience I could ever imagine. I wish I could give negative stars. I have to imagine that Plumbing Supply companies in ISIS controlled Mosul Iraq have a better customer experience than Standard Plumbing Supply. My general contractor sent me to their pick out 2 valves, 1 diverter and 3 shower heads. I get treated like a big jerk from the minute I walk in the door - the lady is way too busy to help me pick out what becomes an almost $2,000 order. Seriously, she gave me and my wife maybe 6 minutes of her busy day. This was 2 weeks ago. Our new shower has been great to look at and hangout, problem is the standard Moen equipment we ordered is still not there - so it is more of closet or sitting room than a shower at this point. I have called 4 or 5 times - every time my sales associate is too busy to talk. My GC says he has called countless times as well - fruitlessly. The last I heard from them is how sorry they were last Thursday and they were going to have the parts sent overnight via FedEx. Well today is Tuesday @ 5:35PM. So either they are complete liars or have no idea what the common term "overnight" means with regard to shipping and freight. Bottom line: I would rather chew glass then give them another dollar. read more

The counter are guys may be more accustomed to working with contractors, but they'ew always friendly, knowledgeable, and willing and able to help the DIY homeowner (like me) to find just the right plumbing part for a plumbing project. The quality and prices of plumbing supplies here are generally better and less expensive than what I am able to find on the shelf at Home Depot, Lowe's, or Ace. For us weekend home improvement warriors, this shop is also open early on Saturdays. On occasion I have picked up an incorrect part, but the return and exchange processes were smooth and efficient. Standard Plumbing Supply also has a good sized showroom where they display sinks, drains, mirrors, lights, shower & faucet trims. There's a big emphasis on Kohler here, but they also display popular pieces from Moen, Rohl, Grohe, Hansgrohe, Newport, Franke, and many other brands. I made an appointment with Sherry in the showroom to select shower drains and fixtures for a shower remodel. I know nothing about shower design, so we made an appointment to meet with Sherry later that week. Sherry knows her products (and contractors) so our time together was extremely productive. At the end of our meeting, she handed me a complete list of roughs, valves, and trims I'd need include in out budget, as well as literature for the trim we selected. read more

I'm presently remodeling two bathrooms in our home. I just wanted to give props to Dani Curtis from the Showroom. Dani took the time to answer all my questions. She caught missed items on a previous quote; then she helped us save over $400.00 on the supplies for both showers by suggesting shower trim kits. The only reason why I did not give five stars, a co-worker was vacuuming the carpet while I was trying to communicate what I needed for over 5 minutes, this was a bit frustrating. Maybe this should be done before or after the store closes. read more

After having our water heater flood our utility closet we were in emergency mode. I first called central az supply to only have a rude salesman tell me 80 gallon water heaters are illegal. Hooked up with Standard and got an 80 gallon unit in stock same day at a very competitive price. We will only be coming here in the future. I stopped in here on September 19, 2016 and experienced some pretty horrible customer service. I always like to support locally owned businesses and have spent lots of money in this store on several home projects. Upon walking into the showroom, the four women that were working completely ignored me. I was there for about 15 minutes and nobody looked my direction, said hello or asked if I needed help. How do you leave no stars? I feel like I have to leave a review so that people don't waste their time at this store. We went there twice and experienced the worst customer service. We left the first time because no one would even help us. It took 30 minutes for someone in the store to address us. We were told that we needed to schedule an appointment with Sherry. We called twice to do so and never received a call back. So we just went in there a second time and talked to Sherry. She was literally so rude and just laughed three different times at me. I was being so nice! She just laughed and looked at me. I am still so confused with our conversation. Oh, I wanted to yell at her but I am more civilized than her. I asked an employee to speak to a manager and he said the manager wasn't there and didn't even ask if he could help. We just left. Anyways...I feel like I am ranting so I won't share the whole story. Please don't go there and give them business. Especially Sherry, seriously she is the worst. She laughed at a customer who wanted to give her money! I called the 800 number listed on Kohler's website and after the recorded greeting message played the call was disconnected. I then looked up the local number and called that and the phone rang and rang and rang and nobody answered. And this was during normal business hours. read more

If there was an option for zero stars, I would definitely choose zero. The customer service here is astonishingly terrible. I ordered a $1000 faucet setup for a shower, I was erroneously charged tax with a tax exempt form on file. I was then told, to receive the difference back in tax, they would have to re-charge me the total invoice amount without tax and then wait 5-10 days to receive my original refund back. (Hold $1000 of mine for a week to be able to refund me $70 in tax....Makes absolutely no sense) I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place. Double checked their prices against Home Depot and other online venues and Standard turned out to be more expensive!!! read more

Please don't waste your time and money here! I was recommended to come here for our bathroom remodel. I knew what I wanted (basically) so it was an easy sale for the sales associate (who I had to wave to to get her attention). I ordered what we needed through their catalogs and she typed it into the computer. What could go wrong? Well, I was told that our items would arrive in two weeks which worked for us. Our items started to trickle in at 3 weeks....4-5 weeks when the last items came in we realized that she had missed a few things. She managed to get one item from another location and the others I purchased at Home Depot, not wanting to have to deal with Standard again. Don't waste your time coming here. I called ahead before coming to the showroom, they said to stop by and someone would help us. When we arrived nobody would acknowledge that we were there. There ladies in the front desk, one busy and the other two just staring at their computer. Totally avoiding eye contact, you can tell they were not busy. We browsed around and then asked if someone could help us. The girl looked pretty uninterested and went to look for someone. She came back but never told us if someone would help us. Nothing at all. I have gone to this store 3 times to make major purchases. The customer service is awful! I was just in there today and nobody acknowledged me. I walked in and looked at the sinks. The 3 women at the counter just sat there and talked amongst themselves. Nobody ever came over to ask me if I needed any help. Each time I have gone in here the same thing happened. They never offer to help and when you do ask them a question, they act like you are inconveniencing them. I don't ever plan on making a purchase there again. Still waiting for my shower head to come in...ordered it 15 days ago, was told it would take 5....not happy.

I recently built a home and went to Standard Plumbing for all the fixtures. The lady there Sherry greeted me as soon as I walked up to the counter and the big job began of selecting everything from faucets to toilets. Sherry spent over 1 1/2 hours with me on my first trip there. I had to return several times, making changes to my order, and every time I did Sherry spent at least an hour with me, patiently teaching me about finishes, function, and giving me options. I know I took up a lot of Sherry's time just asking questions and making changes and I wanted to say how thankful I am for her patience through it all. She never once ignored me or acted frustrated and never tried to cut our time short--and this store is always busy. She can look at a faucet from a distance and tell you all the specs on it...just amazing. She made the whole process a real pleasure. And because of her kindness and patience with me I will always give my business to Standard Plumbing. If you go there - ask for Sherry. She's amazing! read more
